The word "abomination" is also key to understanding the
context. In Hebrew, the word "to 'evah,"
(abomination) is almost invariably linked to idolatry.

Mercury appeals to the universally superficial,

20th century. Then we invited him in, tired of the
waste land the dead souls that ruled the west had
created. In he came, with all his genius.
Since then, madness has spread like a vine.
He brought his gifts with him and led us to abuse

MAN Jesus of Nazareth for the LAST TIME. When

In 1890, the "women"
(always or effeminate males) began an assault and
hired a State Evangelist:

made his goals clear about promoting the Society and

even though it would divide the churches. Myhr's goal, Lipscome believed, was
to
"ostracize, boycott, and starve
every preacher that does not APPROVE the society."
In 1890 the
first convention was called at Chattanooga to
organize the state
society. The
only churches in the state of Tennessee were
those who had already
adopted the organ in their worship. The Christian
Standard pumped
up the news and "it is reported that the
brethren in Nashville, Tennessee are desirous of
entertaining our National Convention next year." This of course was just two congregations. A survey showed that out of 2500
members in Nashville, less than one hundred
wanted the society. Lipscomb noted that among
the Society people "the Bible is as popular as last year's
almanac
"The supporters
of the missionary society organized the Tennessee
State Missionary Convention on October 6, 1890,
with one purpose in mind, as stated by J. H.
Garrison. He said at that time:
"We
will
take Tennessee for organized mission work...within five years."
That was what
Rubel Shelly, Rick Atchley and the Bible-Deprived Kingdom
of Abilene said.
In 1902 the
church at Newbern was
taken over by society and organ people. The church,
against Lipscomb's advice, sued to retain the property. Of
course the society could muster a majority and won the
lawsuit. The decision was handed down in 1905 that the
trouble did not warrant the intrusion of the courts:
"The
pro-organ party had said during the trial that
when the organ was used as a part of the WORSHIP, it was
sinful;
but
they defended it on the ground that it was an AID to
worship.
That proves or will not let you know that the ONLY meaning
of WORSHIP is Purpose Driven DISABLED.
Those who IMPOSED "Instrumental Worship" are defined as
SECTARIAN. Heresy or Self-Pleasure outlawed all rhetoric,
singing, instruments or acting which would, according to God
in Ezekiel 33, prove that they neither intended to preach or
obey God's Word. The "Theology Cult" denies that God wasn't
as wise as historical hirelings. None, of which
contrary to Historical Theology, failed to repudiate any
form of entertainment.
Tertullian in De Spectaculis repudiates all kinds of

What is the basis of our fellowship? What does bind us
together, if not a creed of unity or a figurehead? It has been an
informal, tacit creed of certain distinctive beliefs and
practices. We
have talked about and we know many of the practices.

Instrumental music is a subject that is
important in its own right.
It is a hot
button issue, indicative of the worship wars
going on in many churches.
It currently occupies the minds of many in our
churches—churches which have been a cappella, or
non-instrumental, for these two centuries.
But now some of our churches are
introducing the instrument.
There are meetings between the Churches of
Christ and the Christian churches about REuniting.
