Dale Pauls: This is a big Sunday here at the Stamford Church of Christ.  This is a landmark summer, and this is a big Sunday when we formally announce our one-year Ministry in Residence with Naomi Walters starting in September.  And so I decided to break from our series on Philippians and share with you more personally my own thoughts on this auspicious occasion.

We understand Naomi Walters ambition but a minimal Bible Student understands that from the Church in the wilderness onward God profides no PROFESSIONAL ROLES and certainly denies that it provides and DOLE.  The role for anyone with feet is to GO into all the World, teach, baptize and teach what Jesus Christ commanded to be taught. Jesus defined the Roles of the Scribes and Pharisees as HYPOCRITES.  The Spirit OF Christ called them speakers for hire, singers and instrument players: that is because they intended to SPEAK ON THEIR OWN as performers. Before lusting to sow discord one should have read the Prophets which define A Church of Christ both Inclusively and Exclusively as A SCHOOL OF THE WORD.  Having missed the LOGOS word one can easily be blinded to the fact that it outlaws rhetoric, singing, playing instruments or any PERFORMING role in the assembly.

In fact, where I WORSHIP God we understand that distinctions of roles, privileges, rights and status on the basis of birth (that is, on the basis of race, gender and class) are ended in Christ. We base this understanding on ten years of careful and exhaustive study of Scripture. The following is the story of how this came to be at the Stamford Church of Christ—of how it is that here in this place the Spirit of God is poured out on both our sons and daughters.

One has ever read the Bible without mercinary driven purposes will understand that Jesus REPUDIATED worship services by saying that the Kingdom does not come with observation meaning religious observations. Those operations are the Lying Wonders of people God has DELUDED and they are identified as speaking, singing, playing instruments, acting or dancing CLAIMING to represent A HOLY SPIRIT GOD. The only "worship" hint from the Synagogue in the wilderness is defined as GIVING ATTENDANCE to the READING of the Word.  Then everyone goes home and is not attacked by chains to a CLERGY until next week, same time ONCE A WEEK with no ministries and therefore no ministers but the vocational elders and deacons.

If you perform to enhance, private interpret or further expound the Word and expect to get paid Paul defines that as the Scribes and Pharisees who wrote their own songs and sermons to fleece the widows.

A Place in Time and Tradition

Traditionally Churches of Christ have held until recently to an understanding of 1 Corinthians 14:33-35 and 1 Timothy 2:11-15 that does not examine historical context and that strangely even denies the relevance of historical context, a relevance widely accepted on other texts and issues. On that basis, they have generally prohibited women from exercising "leadership roles" in their public worship. This prohibition amounted, in most congregations, to the almost complete silencing of women in central worship services.

"Traditional" intends to deceive: there is no recorded history which does not let the Word of God speak for itself. Many previous attempts to violate the direct command has resulted in the "worship service" being turned into soft, effeminate or even homosexual persona because the Babylon Mother of Harlots in Revelation 17 uses "lusted after fruits" (also in Amos 8) as speakers for hire, singers and instrument players. That allows the kind of persona as the males are "emasculated" as Paul warned about.

Note: Of course early on it dawned on us that biblical texts must be understood contextually, taking into account both their literary and historical settings. This simple truth, once grasped, makes instantaneous sense. It's like a light bulb going on. It immediately restores consistency, common sense and charitable understandings to both our interpretation and application of Scripture. The restrictions on women in 1 Corinthians 14 and 1 Timothy 2 have to be understood in their literary and historical contexts, as in fact all scripture must be. In fact, interpreting any document of any kind, or even any conversation, depends on understanding its original context in real life. This isthe cardinal rule of interpretation, the one followed in all contemporary scholarship, and interpreters always do this except when for some reason—usually cultural—they don't want to.

He means that the Scriptures are NOT inspired and Paul was just displaying his CULTURAL predjuices. To the contrary, ALL pagan religions were led by women and all male-dominated religions such as the Jews was led by MALES but dressing and PERFORMING THE ROLES OF WOMEN.

Paul and Jesus as SPIRIT claimed to be guided into all truth.  If you say that Paul was a creature of an evil culture you despise the Word and therefore blaspheme the Holy Spirit of Christ. This always happens when men despise the Word and God sends them strong delusions MARKED by the feminine or effeminate Rhetoric, singing, playing instruments, acting or dancing. These are all WORKS of human hands and will be burned up. The MARK you have been waiting where the LOCUSTS are the MUSES under direction of Abaddon or Apollyon.

For MALES Rhetoric, singing, playing instruments, acting or DANCING is the mark of the wise or sophists meaning speaking for hire, singing or playing instruments in a religioous sense.  The Greeks noted that no male would do that unless they were "drunk, effeminate or just mocking" someone like Jesus.  Rhetorical speaking was the universal mark of a gender-confused male.

For FEMALES Paul and godly women understood "authority" as authentia which was self-speaking and automatically displaying the persona of being Erotic.

If you are not A Disciple of Christ ready to obey the CENI of teaching and observing what HE COMMANDED to be taught from the Prophets and the Apostles as the eye- and ear-- witnesses of the risen Lord who left their MEMORY for us as a MARK of false teachers who private interpreted meaning further expounding.  You can study those documents you BELIEVE and are led to believe a lie on the way to being damned.  No male or female would SELL their persona or knowledge which Paul and the Greeks identified as PROSTITUTION.  The pseudo scholars missed what Paul knew.  The Greeks did NOT worry too much about WOMEN in pagan worship but MALES. They write HISTORY and not PHILOSOPHY or THEOLOGY which marks the worship of the MOTHER GODDESS.

The NACC uses Plutarch to justify PLUCKING a harp. Of course, in all of the Tom Burgess and O.E.Payne the PLUCKING was on a harp to seduce a younger male whose hairs had been plucked.

-Plutarch Marcus Antonius  easily fell again to his old licentious life. For straight, one Anaxenor, a player of the cithern, Xoutus, a player of the flute, Metrodorus a tumbler, and such a rabble of minstrels and fit ministers for the pleasures of Asia (who in fineness and flattery passed all the other plagues he brought with him out of Italy), all these flocked in his court, and bare the whole sway: and after that all went awry. For every one gave themselves to riot and excess, when they saw he delighted in it: and all Asia was like to the city Sophocles speaketh of in one of his tragedies:

Was full of sweet perfumes and pleasant songs,
With woeful weeping mingled there-amongs.

For in the city of Ephesus, women, attired as they go in the feasts and sacrifice of Bacchus, came out to meet him with such solemnities and ceremonies as are then used: with men and children disguised like fauns and satyrs. Moreover, the city was full of ivy, and darts wreathed about with ivy, psalterion^,  flutes, and howboye  [hautboys] and in their songs they called him Bacchus, father of mirth, courteous and gentle: and so was he unto some, but to the most part of men cruel and extreme.
        For he robbed noblemen and gentlemen of their goods, to give it unto vile flatterers:
        who oftentimes begged living men's goods, as though they had been dead, and would enter their houses by force.

PAUL COMMANDED THE ANTITHESIS:

Ephesians 5:17 Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.
Ephesians 5:18 And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit [WORD, LOGOS]
Ephesians 5:19 SPEAKING to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs,
        BUT: singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;
Ephesians 5:20 Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;
Ephesians 5:21 Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.
Ephesians 5:22 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.

Theologians cannot grasp that:
SPEAK is what you do when you teach the Will of the Lord.
LEXIS and the Logos words are opposite to ODE.
ODE and PSALLO are in the heart which means YOU CANNOT HEAR THEM and be made dumb.
Psallo is the Apolloon mark: He shot arrows into literal hearts and used his lyre to shoot LOVE arrows into his three "staff members."

As he gave a citizen's house of Magnesia unto a cook, because (as it is reported) he dressed him a fine supper. In the end he doubled the taxation, and imposed a second upon Asia. But then Hybraeas the orator, sent from the estates of Asia, to tell him the state of their country, boldly said unto him, "If thou [p. 173] wilt have power to lay two tributes in one year upon us, thou shouldest also have power to give us two summers, two autumns, and two harvests." This was gallantly and pleasantly spoken unto Antonius by the orator, and it pleased him well to hear it: but afterwards, amplifying his speech, he spake more boldly, and to better purpose: "Asia hath paid thee two hundred thousand talents. If all this money be not come to thy coffers, then ask account of them that levied it: but if thou have received it, and nothing be left of it, then are we utterly undone."

Neither Jesus, Paul or any command is for a FUNCTIONARY to LEAD prayer as a liturgical act of legalism

1Ti 2:1 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for ALL men;

These all have a large body of literature to further define them. However, in the synagogue the public activity was performed by an elected leader where the PRAYER was PRIMARILY for instruction because it began with the SHEMA (which refutes Tritheism or polytheism when we WORSHIP the names of the THREE.)

From G2170 ; gratitude; actually grateful language (to God, as an act of worship): thankfulness, (giving of) thanks (-giving).

1Ti 2:2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that WE may lead a QUIET and PEACABLE life in all GODLINESS and HONESTY [gravity].

If you passed card class and can READ the Text with A holy spirit you can grasp that ALL MEN whose prayers are answered with be QUIET AND PEACEABLE.

Godliness means: G2150 eusebeia yoo-seb'-i-ah From G2152 ; piety; specifically the GOSPEL scheme:...godliness, holiness.

THEOLOGIANS MISSED THE PURPOSE OF THE CHRIST DRIVEN ASSEMBLY (SYNAGOGUE). The MALES are to be Quiet and sedentary and "work for their own living" because the pattern was defined by Christ the Rock in the wilderness and it never changed.

Acts 15:21 For Moses of old time hath in every city
        them that PREACH him, being READ in the synagogues every sabbath day.

Jesus synagogued with the disciples after His resurrection twice on the first day of the week ONCE A WEEK BY COMMAND, EXAMPLE OR INFERENCE.

Paul always used SYNGOGUE words when the ekklesia gathered ONE TIME EACH WEEK. The Pattern of the Synagogue was to open with the Shema declaring that there is ONE GOD and the they systematically read primarily from the Prophets. No one ever preached or SANG the epistles or anything:

Acts 23:34 And when the governor had read the letter,
        he asked of what province he was. And when he understood that he was of Cilicia;
2Cor. 3:14 But their minds were blinded:
        for until this day remaineth the same vail untaken away in the READING of the old testament; which vail is done away in Christ.

Miriam as one of the prototypical usurping woman, was a prophet or sorcerer or PRIMARY PARASITE as an Egyptian princess: God slapped her with a dose of leprosy when SHE claimed the authority to speak FOR God

2Cor. 3:15 But even unto this day, when Moses is READ, the vail is upon their heart.
Col. 4:16 And when this epistle is READ among you, cause that it be READ also in the church of the Laodiceans; and that ye likewise READ the epistle from Laodicea.
1Th. 5:27 I charge you by the Lord that this epistle be read unto all the holy brethren.
Rev. 5:4 And I wept much, because no man was found worthy to open and to read the book, neither to look thereon.

1Ti 2:3 For this is GOOD and ACCEPTABLE in the sight of God our Saviour;

Saved by Grace Through Faith means to BE KEPT SAFE by Grace which teaches us not to follow false teachers and FAITH which means FAITHFULNESS. However, it never occurs to ask   SAVED FROM WHAT?

The MUSES are the Female Theologians: Muses dredged up from hell.

Ephesians 6.[12] For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world's rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.  

1Timothy 2:12 But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.

The women who sang, danced, clapped and played instruments in the WRATH or ORGY were not SAFE in their bearing of children. Furthermore, many of the dominant women specificially gave birth to infants so they could be burnt in the red hot arms of Moloch.  The music silenced the women when the infants were CAST INTO THE FIRE and God will do the same to the mothers who rear up children only to be burnt as sorcerers: all religious craftsmen, singers, instrument players, actors or dancers.  In all religions these craftsmen were called PARASITE and a woman parasite cannot do you any good.

John called them sorcerers: I know that doesn't mean anything. The religion of the Jews is well documented by the Greek's own version.  If God abandoned Israel to worship the starry host then the Greeks had a name for each one.  It does not matter whether the god is real or not: the Jews called the golden Calf their god.

The Muses and the Graces were really bad women: that's why Paul to Titus defined true GRACE as personified in Jesus who hath appeared teaching us NOT to follow the pagan Graces and Muses.

Scripture makes it clear that Jesus was sent to seek and save LOST SPIRITS. He was not OF the World and He sent heralds OUT preaching the good news that Messiah was heree for them.  Jesus HIDES from the World including Scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites named by Christ as speakers for hire, singers and instrument players.

Aesch. Eum. 34 I was on my way to the inner shrine, decked with wreaths; I saw on the center-stone¹ a man defiled in the eyes of the gods, [40] occupying the seat of suppliants. His hands were dripping blood; he held a sword just drawn and an olive-branch, from the top of the tree, decorously crowned with a large tuft of wool, a shining fleece; for as to this I can speak clearly. Before this man an extraordinary band of women slept, seated on thrones. No! Not women, but rather Gorgons I call them; and yet I cannot compare them to forms of Gorgons either. Once before I saw some creatures in a painting,² [50] carrying off the feast of Phineus; but these are wingless in appearance, black, altogether disgusting; they snore with repulsive breaths, they drip from their eyes hateful drops; their attire is not fit to bring either before the statues of the gods or into the homes of men. 1 omphalos“navel” was the name given by the Delphians to a white stone （in Aeschylus' time placed in the inmost sanctuary of Apollo）, which they regarded as marking the exact center of the earth. Near the great altar of Apollo the French excavators of Delphi discovered a navel-stone. omphalos is sometimes used of Delphi itself.

2 The Harpies.

Herpo is the BEAST or Serpent in the Garden of Eden. The beast as Therion suddenly out "A new style of music or Satyric drama."

The MUSES were unleashed from "hell" and were called dirty prostitutes.  They are the LOCUSTS in the secret message of John.  Apollon is the LEADER of the Muses or locusts or MUSICAL WORSHIP TEAM.  Worship teams are female or effeminate and cause up to 2/3 of the owners to FLEE.

Si_gaō , means silent and not just VOCAL while being ORDERLY.  Men have NO AUTHORITY to transmit to women to TEACH in the self-referenced or authentia authority form.keep silence, used by Hom. only in imper. siga, hush! be still! I 2. metaph. of things, “sigōn d' olethros kai mega phōnount' . . amathunei” A.Eu.935 (anap.); “surigges ou sigōsin” Id.Supp.181; “

The command SILENCES:   surigx , iggos, hē, A.shepherd's pipe, Panspipe, “aulōn suriggōn t' enopē” Il.10.13; “nomēes terpomenoi surigxi” 18.526; “suriggōn enopē” h.Merc.512; “hupo ligurōn suriggōn hiesan audēn” Hes.Sc.278; “ou molpan suriggos ekhōn” S.Ph.213 (lyr.); kalaminē s. Ar.Fr.719; “kat' agrous tois nomeusi surigx an tis eiē” Pl.R.399d.

That's a fact: patterns repeat.  In Revelation 17 John warns against the Babylon Mother of Harlots. She uses lusted after fruits (same as in Amos) as speakers, singers and instrument players. The craftsmen are ANY and all religious teknokrats claiming to enhance what they  call "worship" by all of what Jesus called the hypocrites: speakers, singers and instrument players (Ezekiel 33).

Prophesying has many meanings: the only of what John Calls a supernatural gift meaning the Scriptures available at Corinth was that which had been provided by the Apostle Paul. Prophesying then was telling forth or teaching the Word by this supernatural gift bestowed by Paul.
1Corinthians 1:4 I thank my God always on your behalf,
        for the grace of God which is given you by Jesus Christ;

The Grace of God (Jesus as Word) hath appeared TEACHING:

 How: The Testimony of Christ is the Spirit of prophecy (Rev 19:10)

1Corinthians 1:6 Even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you:
1Corinthians 1:7 So that ye come behind in no gift;
        waiting for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ:
1Corinthians 1:8 Who shall also confirm you unto the end,
        that ye may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.

This gift which enabled prophesying by inspiration came by the teachings of Paul who as an apostle had the power to confer supernatural gifts but there is no evidence.

2Corinthians 12:11 I am become a fool in glorying; ye have compelled me: for I ought to have been commended of you: for in nothing am I behind the very chiefest apostles, though I be nothing.
2Corinthians 12:12 Truly the signs of an apostle were wrought among you in all patience,
        in signs, and wonders, and mighty deeds.

Acts 5:12 And by the hands of the apostles were many signs and wonders wrought among the people; (and they were all with one accord in Solomon’s porch.

2Corinthians 12:13 For what is it wherein ye were inferior to other churches,
        except it be that I myself was not burdensome to you? forgive me this wrong

That supernatural work ended when the Apostles or their writers finished their PARTS.

1Corinthians 13:8 Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies,
        they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease;
        whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.

Tongues were known minor dialects. However, Paul was given the supernatural ability to speak in many minor dialects because he revealed the Mind of Christ by using real-life experiences. SPEAKING absolutely forbids any kind of musical or theatrical performance:

Hyppolytus Book V Satan Worship The Naasseni: Mystery of the "Great Mother; "  See The Hypostasis of the Archons

They rashly assume in this manner, that  whatsoever things have been said and done by all men, (may be made to harmonize) with their own particular mental view, alleging that ALL things become spiritual. Whence likewise they assert, that those exhibiting themselves in theatres,not even these say or do anything without premeditation.

Therefore, he says, when, on the people assembling in the theatres, any one enters clad in a remarkable robe, carrying a harp and playing a tune (upon it, accompanying it) with a song of the great mysteries, he speaks as follows, not knowing what he says:

"Whether (thou art) the race of Saturn (Satans) or happy Jupiter, or mighty Rhea (ZOE, Eve), Hail, Attis, gloomy mutilation of Rhea. Assyrians style thee thrice-longed-for Adonis, and the whole of Egypt (calls thee) Osiris, celestial horn of the moon; [The bull, Apis, at Sinai] Greeks denominate (thee) Wisdom; Samothracians, venerable Adam; Haemonians, Corybas; and them Phrygians (name thee) at one time Papa, at another time Corpse, or God, or Fruitless, or Aipolos, or green Ear of Corn that has been reaped, or whom the very fertile Amygdalus produced-a man, a musician."

This, he says, is multiform Attis, whom while they celebrate in a hymn, they utter these words:

"I will hymn Attis, son of Rhea, not with the buzzing sounds of trumpets, or of Idaean pipers, which accord with (the voices of) the Curetes; but I will mingle (my song) with Apollo's music of harps, evoe, evan, ' inasmuch as thou art Pan, as thou art Bacchus, as thou art shepherd of brilliant stars."

On account of these and such like reasons, these constantly attend the mysteries called those of the "Great Mother,"supposing especially that they behold by means of the ceremonies performed there the entire mystery. [Moved into the presence of the gods with music]

For these have nothing more than the ceremonies that are performed there, except that they are not emasculated:they merely complete the work of the emasculated.

For with the utmost severity and vigilance they enjoin (on their votaries) to abstain, as if they were emasculated, from intercourse with a woman. The rest, however, of the proceeding (observed in these mysteries), as we have declared at some length, (they follow) just as (if they were) emasculated persons.
And they do not worship any other object but Naas, (from thence) being styled Naasseni.

But Naas is the serpent from whom, i.e., from the word Naas, (the Naassene) says, are all that under heaven are denominated temples (Naos).  And (he states) that to him alone-that is, Naas-is dedicated every shrine and every initiatory rite, and every mystery; and, in general,  that a religious ceremony could not be discovered under heaven, in which a temple (Naos) has no existence; and in the temple itself is Naas, from whom it has received its denomination of temple (Naos)

Eve is mentioned only twice in the New Testament and because Jesus spoke in parables to HIDE the truth from the WISE (sophists=rhetoricians, singers, musicians, actors).  Moses was writing an INVERTED version of Babylon Myths AFTER the nation fell from grace BECAUSE of instrumental idolatry at Mount Sinai.  Therefore, those who mock Paul do not understand that Paul knew all about Eve and scholars know nothing. While not necessarily true, Paul understood that women especially looked to EVE (Zoe, Mary) as THEIR Mediatrix.

The serpents, however, of the magicians-(that is,) the gods of destruction-withstood the power of Moses in Egypt, but the rod of Moses reduced them all to subjection and slew them. This universal serpent is, he says, the wise discourse of Eve. This, he says, is the mystery of Edem, this the river of Edem;

this the mark that was set upon Cain,
that any one who findeth him might not kill him. This, he says, is Cain, [Gen. iv. 15] whose sacrifice [Gen. iv. 5. ] the god of this world did not accept.

Theophilus to Autolycus 

This Eve, on account of her having been in the beginning deceived by the serpent, and become the author of sin, the wicked demon, who also is called Satan, who then spoke to her through the serpent, and who works even to this day in those men that are possessed by him, invokes as Eve.⁵⁸ And he is called "demon" and "dragon," on account of his revolting from God. For at first he was an angel. And concerning his history there is a great deal to be said; wherefore I at present omit the relation of it, for I have also given an account of him in another place.

⁵⁸ Referring to the bacchanalian orgies in which " Eva " was shouted, and which the Fathers professed to believe was an unintentional invocation of Eve, the authoress of all sin.

The word "abomination" is also key to understanding the context. In Hebrew, the word "to 'evah," (abomination) is almost invariably linked to idolatry. In the passages from which both verses are taken, God tells Moses to tell the people not to follow the idolatrous practices of the people around them, people who sacrificed their children to Molech, or who masturbated into the fire to offer their semen to Molech, for example. Chapter 20 starts off with the same warning.

"To 'evah" also means "something which is ritually unclean."

But also, concerning music, some have fabled that Apollo [Abaddon, Apollyon]  was the inventor, and others say that Orpheus discovered the art of music from the sweet voices of the birds. Their story is shown to be empty and vain, for these inventors lived many years after the flood. And what relates to Noah, who is called by some Deucalion, has been explained by us in the book before mentioned, and which, if you wish it, you are at liberty to read.
