Jay Guin The Fork In The Roa

Richard Beck Experimental Theology and the future of Churches of Christ.   In Scripture Theology defines the Scribes and Pharisees who "take away the key to knowledge." Jesus defined the Scribes (liars in the prophets) and Pharisees as Hypocrites. In the Ezekiel version Christ names popular preachers for hire, singers and instrument players." These are the MARKS of people who neither preach nor practice the word.  The Spirit OF Christ defined the Church of Christ (the Rock) in the wilderness for the godly people. He defined the FUTURE of the Church of Christ both inclusively and exclusively in the prophets.   The ACU kingdom have a spirit guide who is now defining the FUTURE of churches which are no longer SYNAGOGUES which define the once a week assembly to PREACH the Word (regulative principle) by READING the Word for Comfort and doctrine.  The Lord's supper teaches us that we have nothing of value to IMAGINE so we follow the pattern SPEAK (dicto) A hymn and GO OUT.  The progressives are not just anti-sectarian but are UNIVERSALISTS which probably means "we will take anyone's money" for the unlawful collection plate.

Theology would never dare be used about the God identified in the Scriptures (Prophets and Apostles).  That would presume a level of inspiration claimed by those who hear A spirit tell them to twist the Scriptures. We will show that THEOLOGY which was suddenly unleashed to replace the Scriptures identifies Abaddon-Apollon unleased from the PIT to become the leader and SPIRIT GUIDE of the Locusts who are the MUSES or worship team; they are identified as adulteresses and SHEPHERDS under the Babylon Mother of Harlots (Revelation 17).  They sort out the craftsmen, singers and instrument players who are called SORCERERS so they can be held captive until time to CAST THEM ALIVE INTO THE LAKE OF FIRE.

An Experiment in Christian Dialogue: A Post by Bruce Morton

10.07.14 Conservatives and Progressives (back to Babylon) are predestined to play the SHELL GAME: people who understand that disciples come one by one know that the NUT is under neither shell.

Jay Guin and all of the sowers of discorders love to pretend that Ephesians 5 and Colossians 3 are the only two proof texts the "legalists" use to justify refusing to sect out since Christ defined the church in the wilderness onward.

God would offer the people The Book of The Covenant which was a covenant of grace like that of the Abrahamic Covenant. The Tribal Elders governed the people and taught the Word of God.  This Covenant of Grace was not changed by the future Laws of the Civil-Military-Clergy state from which the godly people were quarantined to their local area.

Ex. 18:19 Hearken now unto my voice, I will give thee counsel, and God shall be with thee:
        Be thou for the people to Godward,
        that thou mayest bring the causes unto God:

Ex. 18:20 And thou shalt teach them ordinances and laws,
        and shalt shew them the way wherein they must walk,
       and the work that they must do.

And they have the less difficulty in finding the nature of their own god in themselves, because they have been compelled to gaze intensely on him; their recollection clings to him, and they become possessed of him, and receive from him their character and disposition, so far as man can participate in God.

The followers of Zeus desire that their beloved should have a soul like him;

        Mariccus was captured in the engagement, and was soon after exposed to wild beasts, but not having been torn by them was believed by the senseless multitude to be invulnerable, till he was put to death in the presence of Vitelliu

WHY DO THEY PREACH THAT GOD WAS SO UTTERLY STUPID THAT THE SOWERS OF DISCORD HAVE TO FILL IN THE "SILENCES"?

The following statements by Bruce Morton were grasped by Jay Guin to make Bruce equate Ephesians 5 to the passages on Psalms which Jay and his bloggers think includes musical instruments.

The Bible most often is the ANTITHESIS of the Pagan cults.  However, false teachers claim that Churches of Christ originated the ANTI-instrumental sect because the PAGANS ALSO used instruments. In fact, the Catholic Encyclopedia says that music was ADDED because it was common to all pagan cults whose "church house" they "infiltrated and diverted."

THE STATEMENT GRASPED BY JAY GUIN TO SAY THAT DAVID'S SINGING AND PLAYING WERE IDENTICAL AND THEREFORE AFFIRMING THE USE OF INSTRUMENTS IN PRAISING GOD IN EPHESIANS.

Bruce Morton: Is Paul urging song as opposed to instrumented music?  Yes, it appears he is doing exactly that.  Paul quotes – and carefully revises – Septuagint Psalms for a reason.

Note from: The apostle provides further emphasis by his use of the ado-psallo (sing; make music) structure of his words.  Three Septuagint Psalms include the same structure, but Paul has revised the Psalms to point to song alone (see LXX Psalm 26, 56, 107).

We have noted in another paper that the context is different enough to make Jay Guin blush. At no time or place in recorded history does psallo have any musical content: it has the same meaning as SOP because it means to STRIKE something with your fingers and NEVER with a guitar pick, blow a flute, beat on a drum, play a piano or an organ. In the examples used by the Disciples -- Christians psallo is an APOLLO word and includes plucking a harp string skillfully to seduce a young boy whose hairs had been plucked.

God turned the Jews "over to worship the starry host" BECAUSE of musical idolatry at Mount Sinai.
After the elders fired God and wanted a king like a "senior pastor person" God knew that they wanted to worship like the nations or Goyim meaning the BABYLONIANS because they would return to Babylon for captivity and death.

God did not command king, kingdom, temple, animal slaughter or the Levites as "a musical worship team."
David was KING and the Jacob-cursed and God-abandoned Levites made instrumental noise to warn Jay Guin that if he came inside of the gates he would be executed.

The Levites were under the King and Commanders of the Army: they made war and not worship.
Many of the Psalms are clearly Ugaritic and the Jerusalem Temple or Ziggurat was designed and built by Hiram the Tyrian Architecture and both were devoted to "the worship of the starry host."
David didn't write nor perform "worship songs." He never led "worship" with congregational singing.

DAVID SAID: I will [1] sing and
[2] play [psallo] the [3] instrument which is ALWAYS included when indicated. Then David could have GLORY for himself with God's help is slaughtering the "owners" of the land.

Mose end-time Church of Christ "scholars" and "preachers" cannot tell the difference between David MAKING WAR and God's command for us to TEACH and ADMONISH using "that which is written."  That may be why the once Bible Colleges have turned into dozens of MINISTRIES to send out and MAKE WORSHIP WARS.

Paul does not command SINGING but SPEAKING: Speaking is how discoples hear from the only Master Preacher. ODE is a witchcraft or sorcery word and PSALLO is a making war or making perverted sex word in connection with the usual pagan "new style of worship."

Ode and Psallo are IN THE HEART which means IN SILENCE where only God can hear. Paul repeats this in 1 Corinthians 14 warning about tongues or instruments which cannot be interpreted. Unless you prophesy by speaking that which is written the command is to BE SILENT.

Psalm has no musical content and does not include an instrument: if you Pluck a harp string with your fingers and never with a plectrum" AND sing it takes three words.

Is. 23:16 Take an [1] harp, go about the city, thou harlot that hast been forgotten; make sweet [2] melody, [3] sing many songs, that thou mayest be remembered.

Amos 5:23 Take thou away from me the noise of thy [1] songs; for I will not hear the [3] melody of thy [3] viols.

Eph. 5:19 Speaking to YOURSELVES in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs,
        singing and making melody IND your heart to the Lord;

THATS the commanded, exampled and necessary inference of Jesus Christ IF you grasp that church is A School (only) of the Word (only) of Christ in the prophets and apostles for spiritual content.

Psalm 25(26) After David has defeated his enemies he offered a "sacrifice" of Joy in the Tabernacle.  Of course David would have been executed if he went INTO the real Tabernacle.  He said I will sing, even sing  psalms TO the Lord.

A Psalm is a song to be recited with the voice: only if an instrument is named can one be inferred.  There is no hint of a melody.

The translators of the Septuagint used the Psa (sop-psallo) words because the always spoke of striking or smiting  a string or hair with the FINGER but never with a plectrum. Psallo means PLUCK or smite and never includes an instrument. When an instrument is desired God the only Spirit was not ignorant: he would have used COMPOUND WORDS one for each stringed instrument and style of plucking.

Jay Guin grasp this false statement to have Bruce Morton parallel the Psalms and Ephesians 5.

There is no command, example or remote inference of God wanting or needing back-up worship teams when Jesus comes to be our only Teacher when the Elders as pastor-teachers "teach that which has been taught." Furthermore, Paul is making the Prophecies of Christ more certain by defining the assembly as synagogue which excluded vocal or instrumental noise when the Word was PREACHED by being READ.

However, God through the Spirit of Christ does warn about the musical sorcerers BECAUSE "lucifer was the singing and harp-playing prostitute in the garden of Eden."  He outlaws it because it is EVIL.

Bruce Morton: Ephesians 5:18-21: The Work of the Spirit Through Song in a World Under Siege Bruce Morton

First and most damaging concept.  Jesus as son articulated only what the Father breathed (spirit) into him without measure. Metron is often used of MUSICAL METER.  That's good because.

  1. Paul commanded that we SPEAK "that which is written for our learning" including "teaching Psalms.
  2. Nothing that is written for our learning is METRICAL; melody as tunefulness belongs to the 19th century.
  3. Both ODE and PSALLO are IN the heart or spirit where only God hears.
  4. That's because the speak word LEXIS is the OPPOSITE of ODE and ODE is the opposite of SPEAK
  5. That is because ODE defines enchantment or sorcery of those "making the lambs dumb before the claughter" or fleecing through the LAW of "lay by in store AT church" in contrast to BY him.
  6. That's because PSALLO (SOP) is an Apollo, Apollyon word: he made his bow string twang to send forth a "singing" arrow. Or he used his Lyre to shoot forth love arrows into his male or female friends
  7. Therefore, if you SING that which is not inspired by the Spirit OF Christ you are violating direct commands.
  8. That may not be a sin but the MARK of having been sent strong delusions.
  9. Paul doesn't say that they are ignorant but that they are LYING IN WAIT TO DECEIVE

Max Lucado and Rubel Shelly claim that a holy spirit PERSON is God's song writer and dance master.

  1. In Ephesians 4 the WILL of the LORD is called SPIRIT. Jesus said my WORDS are SPIRIT.
  2. In Colossians 3 the command is to speak THE WORD OF CHRIST.
  3. The Word of CHRIST is Spirit because it is GOD BREATHED.
  4. The Spirit OF Christ is not another person: remember PREPOSITIONS?
  5. The Word or LOGOS is God's regulative principle or governing principle: all that God does in the material world he SPEAKS as His instrumental means. That's fince since science now says that matter is simply vibrating waves.
  6. The LOGOS is the opposite of self-speak or rhetoric, private experiences, singing, playing instruments or dancing.
  7. God HIDES from the Wise or Sophists: self-speakers, singers, instrument players.
  8. Jesus called the Scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites and in Ezekiel 33 Christ names speakers for hire, singers and instrument players.
I fully grasp that the LEGALISTS know that god never said: "Thou shalt NOT be a sophist or hypocrite." Legalism is uniquely defined as learning, practicing, rehearsing, presenting with stage management and audience affirmation rhetoric, singing, playing instruments, acting, dancing or juggling.

The command to SPEAK that which is written
is opposite to ODE and PSALLO in the heart meaning SILENT.

Bruce Morton: Paul’s generalities in Ephesians 4:17-5:21 do not describe the specifics of religious ritual.  Indeed, he writes, “it is shameful even to mention what the disobedient do in secret.” (Eph. 5:12; NIV)

In Ephesians 4 Paul repudiates UNITY IN DIVERSITY which is an insane concept.

The Bloggers ignore Bruce's pointing to Ephesians 4 which DOES outlaw what Jay Guin etal CONCLUDES is LAWFUL.

EDUCATION by the WORD of Christ is the ONLY meaning of worship defined as GIVING ATTENTION TO God.  Theatrical and Musical performers are Purpose Driven to "make the lambs dumb before the slaughter" by making certain that you give ATTENDANCE to them 24/7: where your money is there is your FAITH.

Jesus said that the Kingdom does not come with observation: it is within us and out worship is IN THE SPIRIT devoted to TRUTH.  Anyone who can define DISCIPLE cannot even hallucinate the use of "machines for doing hard work" all learned, practiced, rehearsed, performed and judged by strict rules and therefore the only meaning of LEGALISM.

The kingdom does not come with RELIGIOUS OBSERVATIONS or operations which are defined a Lying Wonders performed by those strongly deluded by God.

CHRIST IN ISAIAH 3 WARNED ABOUT WOMEN AND CHILDREN OR BOYS OR THE EFFEMINATE RULING OVER YOU.

Bruce Morton: Paul, however, is writing about song in the broader context of Asian and Greek life and conduct – including worship.  Much lies behind Paul’s comment in Ephesians 4:17.  Ephesians 4:17-5:21 includes important parallels that tie the teaching together.  Specifically, 5:18-21 parallels 5:11 and also reveals 4:23-24 applied to Christian worship.

Many of the believers were "just out of paganism" and women (especially) who had served in the temples of Apollo in Corinth had to relearn that as Paul writes in the "women silent" passage "so that we might all be saved and come to a knowledge of the truth." Proving that the women who engaged in wrath or orgy would sing, play and do other things. They pretended that their gibbering or singing was a message from a God.  Paul corrected that by saying that "there is ONE God and ONE Mediator, Jesus Christ." Therefore, the only RESOURCE which they had would be maybe the Old Testament text as well as letters and sermons from Paul which Peter called scripture.

Again lest we forget: Paul commanded that the one another

SPEAK that which is written for our learning: nothing written can be sung: adults do not learn by singing as WORSHIP.
ODE and PSALLO are IN (en, eis) the Heart or human spirit: you cannot hear any singing and making melody ON a harp when it is IN the hear or mind of the STUDENT.

Singing is not worship: Worship is giving attendance to the READING of the Word for comfort and doctrine.  A Christian is a disciple: a disciple is a student: a disciple of Christ is commanded to teach and observe what JESUS commanded to be taught.  It's pretty hard to give your attention to "performing your part" or watching a group and give attention to the Word of God at the same time. Furthermore, as all priestly religions involved males performing the roles of women, Paul would grasp Isaiah 3 which warnedof women and men or boys (effeminate) ruling over them.

"Philodemus considered it paradoxical that music should be regarded as veneration of the gods while musicians were paid for performing this so-called veneration. Again, Philodemus held as self deceptive the view that music mediated religious ecstasy. He saw the entire condition induced by the noise of cymbals and tambourines as a disturbance of the spirit.

He found it significant that, on the whole, only women and effeminate men fell into this folly.

Accordingly, nothing of value could be attributed to music; it was no more than a slave of the sensation of pleasure, which satisfied much in the same way that food and drink did.

Similar opinions may be found in the writings of Philo. On one occasion he spoke of the Jewish "Feast of Fasting," used by the Greeks for the Day of Atonement:

"Now, many a man from the false religions, which are not ashamed of criticising what is noble, will ask: how can there be a feast without carousing and overeating, without the pleasant company of hosts and guests, without quantities of unmixed wine, without richly set tables and highly stacked provisions of everything that pertains to a banquet, without pageantry and jokes,

bantering and merry-making to the accompaniment of flutes and citharas, the sound of drums and cymbals and other effeminate and frivolous music of every king,

enkindling unbridled lusts with the help of the sense of hearing. For in and through the same [pleasures] those persons openly seek their joy, for what true joy is their they do not know.

Women's singing was a vital part of all pagan worship. In very early times women became priestly singers of the gods in the temple.

"Women and girls from the different ranks of society were proud to enter the service of the gods as singers and musicians. The understanding of this service was universal: these singers constituted the 'harem of the gods'." (End of Quasten)

PAUL SILENCED THEM MEN TO PREVENT THE OUTBREAK OF WRATH OR AN ORGY.

Bruce Morton: The apostle is speaking in generalities, but they are generalities that point toward the strong influence of Asian religion.  The dark pressure should not surprise us.  Luke’s account of earliest Christianity in Ephesus reveals the influence of “Artemis of the Ephesians.”  Further, a growing number of historians and theologians have noted of late the power of the Dionysus cult in both Ephesus and Corinth.  The two cities acted as hubs of power for the religion.  The cult permeated Gentile life and worship in Roman Asia and beyond (see, for example, Philip Harland, Associations, Synagogues, and Congregations; Ross Kraemer, Her Share of the Blessings).

PAUL DOESN'T WARN ABOUT WRATH OR ORGIES BECAUSE THE PAGANS USED MUSIC TO INDUCE ORGIES.

Paul claimed that He taught what JESUS commanded him to speak or teach. The Spirit Jesus of Nazareth appeared to Paul and was seen by Paul to qualify him to be an apostle who was guided by the same Jesus who returned at Pentecost  "and poured out what you see and hear."

If Paul is only warning about the CULTURE then Jay Guin can say that we can use instruments when Jesus is supposed to be the only Teacher because WE don'g do orgies to EXCESS.

When God turned Israel over to worship the starry host because of musical idolatry of the always-pagan trinities, the Worship of the Stars includes Apollo, Artemis, Dionysus and other "gods" defined in Greek and Latin texts.  That is why the Jews had a Covenant with Death and Hell the worship of which is defined in Amos and other book

Hdt. 2.49 Now then, it seems to me that Melampus son of Amytheon was not ignorant of but was familiar with this sacrifice. For Melampus was the one who taught the Greeks the name of Dionysus
        and the way of sacrificing to him and the phallic procession;
        he did not exactly unveil the subject taking all its details into consideration,
        for the teachers who came after him made a fuller revelation;
        but it was from him that the Greeks learned to bear the phallus along in honor of Dionysus,
and they got their present practice from his teaching. [2] I say, then, that Melampus acquired the prophetic art, being a discerning man, and that, besides many other things which he learned from Egypt, he also taught the Greeks things concerning Dionysus, altering few of them; for I will not say that what is done in Egypt in connection with the god and what is done among the Greeks originated independently: for they would then be of an Hellenic character and not recently introduced. [3] Nor again will I say that the Egyptians took either this or any other custom from the Greeks. But I believe that Melampus
        learned the worship of Dionysus chiefly from Cadmus of Tyre

In heroic times, too, fine warriors gained fame, and they are celebrated with lyres and flutes in full-voiced harmonies for time beyond reckoning. Heroes who are honored by the grace of Zeus provide a theme for skilled poets:

IN ROMANS 14 PAUL SILENCES THE OPINIONS OF THE THREE SECTS IN ROME WHO WOULD BE IDENTIFIED BY THE GODLY BASED ON THEIR DIETS.  However, all of them were devoted to music to induce ecstasy during which, as at Mount sinai, both men and women engaged in homosexual activity.  Paul defines this in Romans 1

Bruce Morton
Further, a growing number of archaeologists and historians have noted of late the power of the Dionysus cult in both Ephesus and Corinth.  The two cities acted as influential hubs for the religion.  The mystery cults permeated Gentile life and worship in Roman Asia and beyond (see, for example, Everett Ferguson, Backgrounds of Early Christianity; Philip Harland, Associations, Synagogues, and Congregations; Ross Kraemer, Her Share of the Blessings).

Indeed, one Greek papyrus highlights how instrumentation was used to initiate supposed supernatural possession (see William Johnson, “Musical Evenings in the Early Empire: New Evidence From a Greek Papyrus with Musical Notation,” The Journal of Hellenic Studies 120 (2000): 57-85).

That is true: However, Paul is obeying the direct commands, examples and even precedence of Jesus who made the prophets by Christ more certain.  No one can read the Prophets and not see that musical machines were always connected to making war or making perverted sex. Miriam and the Levites were called soothsayer-sorcerers and they would EXECUTE you if you came into the vile inner court.

Paul SILENCED the doubtful disputations in Romans 14: the pagan sects were IDENTIFIED and judged by where they bought their food and on which days the pagan temples supplied meat they sacrificed to their "gods" but THEY ATE THE MEAT as God warns. In Romans 15 Paul silences the "self-pleasure" which is Areskos or Placeo: that silences all of the performing arts and crafts which have only PLEASURE as their motive before he commanded that we "use one mind and one mouth to speak that which is written for our LEARNING."

And the Roman ladies went often to see them out of curiosity, which gave occasion for assignations at their synagogues.

I sing the brothels loose and unconfin'd,
Th' unpunishable pleasures of the kind;
Which all alike for love or money find.

Venus from her adjoining temple smiles
To see them caught in their litigious wiles;
Grave senators lead home the youthful dame, 8
Returning clients when they patrons came.

Venus is Lucifer, Zoe (the BEAST and female instructing principle.  Also EVE as Paul warned.

8 We see these assemblies were composed of all sorts of persons; upon which our French author remarks thus: " This does not very well agree to the practice in our days; and I cannot comprehend how gallant women could frequent the courts of justice : where it is to be supposed, nobody came but such as had business and suits depending."

But above all, the Playhouse is the place; 9
There's choice of quarry in that narrow chace:
There take thy stand, and sharply looking out,
Soon may'st thou find a mistress in the rout,
For length of time or for a single bout.
9 It must be owned, the theatres

The Theatres are berries for the fair;
Like ants or mole-hills thither they repair;
Like bees to hives so numerously they throng,
It may be said they to that place belong:
amphitheatres, cirques, hippodromes, and all places where the public feasts and rejoicings were kept, were very fatal to the chastity of the women of old [Cirques, Circus, Church]

Thither they swarm who have the public voice;
There choose, if plenty not distracts thy choice.
To see, and to be seen, in heaps they run;
Some to undo, and some to be undone

Romans 15:2 Let every one of us please his neighbour for his good to edification. [education]
Romans 15:3 For even Christ pleased not himself; but, as it is written, The reproaches of them that reproached thee fell on me.
Romans 15:4 For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.

IT IS FALSE AND DECEPTIVE TEACHING TO SAY THAT PAUL OUTLAWED INSTRUMENTS BECAUSE THEY WERE TOO MUCH LIKE THE PAGANS.

Jesus called the MEN of that race CHILDREN or boys: they PIPED hoping to get Jesus to bow down and be initiated into the always-gay priesthood: he would lament and dance.
