John 16 Spirit Christ Reproves the World and the Wise

Jack Cottrell and others continue to insist that the Godhead consists of three separted persons, each with their own emotion, center of consciousness and work.  John Calls anti-Christ those who deny that Christ came fully in Jesus of Nazareth, who then is called Jesus Christ or Christ Jesus. I have never found any older historical scholar who claims that there are three, separated persons (people) of the Godhead much like a family or committee. H. Leo Boles first lectured this view at FHC in 1938.  The people in attendance thought that it should be put in a book form. This was published in 1942 and followed the not-to-scholarly pattern of making assertions and then giving Bible references.  The context of these references almost always refute the claim or give further insight.  [QUICK, ROUGH NOTES :-)]

See our response to Jack Cottrell's claim that The Holy Spirit is a Person.

One of the oldest method of theology documented by many including John Locke is a rationalistic approach of finding verses or parts of verses which support their thesis and then believe that their patternism is inspired.

Jesus said that God hid Himself from the WORLD and the WISE; Jesus as the Son would not even pray for them.  Unless you know the  meaning of WORLD and the WISE it is most likely that the overflowing ceremonial legalism in the name of Jesus Christ is His MARK as head of His Church removing the lamps or candlesticks as perfectly revealed in Revelation 17-18.
Jesus continues the two-fold channel of communication: there is ONE God the Father and ONE Son Jesus Christ."Spirit" is that breath which flows between the ONE Source and the ONE articulated word.  God speaks to the Son and that communication is likened to Spirit or BREATH.   The Spirit without Meter--as the word most often means--is articulated by the Son as LOGOS or Word. The Speak as in Logos is the opposite of poetry or meter. How could you so radically oppose all pagan worship rituals while making them feel worldly and wise?
Psa. 33:6 By the [1] word of the [2] LORD were the heavens made;
        and all the host of them by the [3] breath of his mouth.
Psa. 33:7 He gathereth the waters of the sea together as an heap:
        he layeth up the depth in storehouses.
Psa. 33:8 Let all the earth fear the LORD:
        let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him.
Psa. 33:9 For he spake, and it was done;
        he commanded, and it stood fast.
Psa. 33:10 The LORD bringeth the counsel [thoughts] of the heathen to nought:
        he maketh the devices [artificial] of the people of none effect.
Psa. 33:11 The counsel of the LORD standeth for ever,
        he thoughts of his heart to all generations.
Psa. 33:12 Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD:
        and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance.
There is no revelation unless the Son chooses to reveal the Father as the source of the spiritual message.  Jesus warned that the truth had been hidden from the WORLD and the WISE from the foundation of the World: the way to do that is to use parables or BLACK text on BROWN paper. After Jesus defines the Father, Son and Spirit  as Thought, Breath and Word, in John 16 He warned that He was speaking in PROVERBS. That was always to HIDE truth from those who would make merchandise of the free water of the Worrd (Isaiah 48).
Luke 10:21 In that hour Jesus rejoiced in spirit, and said,
        I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth,
        that thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent,
        and hast revealed them unto babes:
        even so, Father; for so it seemed good in thy sight.

Luke 10:22 All things are delivered to me of my Father:
        and no man knoweth who the Son is, but the Father;
        and who the Father is, but the Son,
        and he to whom the Son will reveal him.
In Spirit, Jesus of Nazareth, had to let Paul SEE and HEAR Him to be qualified to be guided into all truth.
Luke 10:23 And he turned him unto his disciples, and said privately,
        Blessed are the eyes which see the things that ye see:
Luke 10:24 For I tell you, that many prophets and kings have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them.
In Chapter 14 of John Jesus clearly identified Himself as the only agent speaking for the Father.

Jack Cottrell references John 14:16-19 but we would like to back up a bit. Understanding the local trinity as father Zeus and son Dionysus, and the fact that the Jews, says Plutarch, expected that Dionysus would be their lusted after messiah, it was logical for Philip to want to see the "father" as another "person" in Jack's view:
John 14:8 Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us.
John 14:9 Jesus saith unto him,
        Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me,
        Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father;
        and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?

Understood by the inventers of the "trias" concept, "father" thinks and the "son" speaks. The SON of God is literally the WORDS which the ONE God the Father originates.

John 14:10 Believest thou not that I am IN the Father,
        and the Father IN me?
        the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself:
        but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.
John 14:11 Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me:
        or else believe me for the very works’ sake.
Jesus of Nazareth, the Seed of Abraham and born as a infant had no power not manifested through Him by virtue of the Incarnation.
Condition:
John 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.

Promise:
John 14:16 And I will pray the Father,
        and he shall give you another Comforter,
        that he may abide with you for ever;
John 8:35 And the servant abideth not in the house for ever: but the Son abideth ever.
John 8:36 If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.
John 8:37 I know that ye are Abraham’s seed; but ye seek to kill me,
        because my WORD hath no place in you.
John 8:38 I speak that
        which I have seen with my Father:
        and ye do that which ye have seen with your father.
The another Comforter is the Son Who abides forever. Not as a Person but:

John 14:17 Even the Spirit OF truth;
        whom the WORLD CANNOT cannot receive,
        because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him:
        but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

Who is this Comforter which dwelleth WITH the Apostles?

John 14:18 I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you
John 14:19 Yet a little while, and the WORLD seeth me no more;
        but ye see ME: because I live, ye shall live also.

John 14:25 These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you.
John 14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost,
        whom the Father will send in my name,
               The Spiriit Of Christ will be Jesus Christ the Righteous unfettered.
                And Reproving with the Rod of His Mouth.
        he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance,
                whatsoever I have said unto you.
                The Spirit OF truth was consulted at the Jerusalem Conference
                 by remembering prophecy about the Gentiles.

Like our "breath" which has no words of its own, God's Breath or the  Spirit OF Christ can never speak that which Christ has not taught.
Jesus Christ will not cause YOU to remember what He has not spoken to you face to face. The Apostles continued the Word and the Living Word continues through the Record He left with the power to accomplish His will. "The Holy Spirit" diminishes as the Word delivered by each writer's PART is mace COMPLETE.

Jesus has just claimed the title of COMFORTER.  John repeats the NAME of the Comforter:

1John 2:1 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not.
        And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:
HOW IS THE HOLY SPIRIT "ANOTHER" AND STILL WEARS THE NAME "JESUS CHRIST."

People work overtime to make Jesus Christ not quite competent as the ARM or HAND of God as our Comforter or paraclete.  They want to understand Jesus to say that the "another" Comforter will be the "third "person" of a Godhead having his own emotions and center of conscience." Too bad, because Jesus says that the Spirit OF TRUTH does not have any thinking ability and cannot speak "a" word to you telling you that it is now acceptable to lie to God and About God.

The Word Allos is not heteros or different.  If the Spirit was a DIFFERENT personal being with "his" own emotions and center of conscience the the translator was not very smart: he could have used "heteros" and we would not have to become a doctor of the law to explain why the text really does not mean what it clearly says.

These are "real" references which you can check for yourself to see that "another" does not mean an ADDITIONAL person.

Not like: Hom. Il. 13.59 And himself, even as a hawk, swift of flight, speedeth forth to fly, and poising himself aloft above a high sheer rock, darteth over the plain to chase some other bird;

Not like:  Hom. Il. 21.1 [20] and that he smote and smote; and from them uprose hideous groaning as they were anchorage in their terror, for greedily doth he devour whatsoever one he catcheth;

Not like:  Plat. Phaedrus 241a [241a] to endure his wearisome companionship through the hope of future benefits by making promises with many prayers and oaths. But now that the time of payment has come he has a new ruler and governor within him, sense and reason in place of love and madness, and has become a different person; but of this his beloved knows nothing.

The word which is NOT used is:

Alloios. of another sort or kind, different 2. containing or subject to diversity,

Hom. Il. 5.627 They speak but a lie that say thou art sprung from Zeus that beareth the aegis, seeing thou art inferior far to those warriors that were sprung from Zeus in the days of men of old. Of other sort, men say, was mighty Heracles, my father, staunch in fight, the lionhearted,

Hom. Od. 16.135 With this, Athena touched him with her golden wand. A well-washed cloak and a tunic she first of all cast about his breast, and she increased his stature and his youthful bloom. [175] Once more he grew dark of color, and his cheeks filled out, and dark grew the beard about his chin. Then, when she had wrought thus, she departed, but Odysseus went into the hut. And his dear son marvelled, and, seized with fear, turned his eyes aside, lest it should be a god. [180] And he spoke, and addressed him with winged words: “Of other sort [Allois] thou seemest to me now, stranger, than awhile ago, and other are the garments thou hast on, and thy color is no more the same.

This fits the fact that in Philippians 2 Christ Who was God "laid aside" His Majesty and Glory like garments on the throne.  He came in disguise as a lowly servant to be kept secret.  This is infiltrating the WORLD and the WISE

Plat. Lysis 212d At any rate, he said, it looks as if this were so. So you see, we now hold a different view from what we held before

John Chapter 15 background:

When God was beating His enemies into "hell" the sights and sounds was the wind, string and percussion instruments which caused the first fall from grace (the serpent was a musical enchanter/ess) and the second fall from grace at Mount Sinai when they engaged in the musical idolatry of the always-pagan triads or families of Gods. Therefore, it seems fitting that the urgent promotion of a trinitarianism never taught in history goes along with trying to force everyone to "worship" with instrumental music.

In discussing the "another" Comforter which he claims is a seperate person with his own emotions and center of discussion, he quotes only verse 26 from chapter 15.
John 15:26 But when the Comforter is come,
        whom I will send unto you from the Father,
        even the Spirit of truth,
        which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me
:

In chapter 14 Jesus has said that I am IN the Father and the Father is in Me: if you have seen me you have seen the Father. That is because the One Son Jesus Christ embodies the father, son and spirit the Jews expected to see when Messiah came: this was part of the Zeus-Dionysus worship in the temple. Sure, the Lord sends the Lord:

Zech. 2:8 For thus saith the LORD of hosts;
        After the glory hath he sent me unto the nations which spoiled you:
        for he that toucheth you toucheth the apple of his eye.
Zech. 2:9 For, behold, I will shake mine hand upon them,
        and they shall be a spoil to their servants:
        and ye shall know that the LORD of hosts hath sent me.
Therefore, it is not that hard to quote some context which will usually refute making theology by referenceing a bunch of verses.
John 15:15 Henceforth I call you not servants;
        for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth:
        but I have called you friends;
                for all things that
                I have heard of my Father

                I have made known
                unto you.

Christ put on the "garments" of a lowly human to infiltrate to repudiate and destroy the Jewis system called "a covenant with death" and a monarchy imposed because of musical idolatry and the worship of the egyptian trinity.  Therefore, chapter 15 defines the WORLD or KOSMOS which is that ancient worship

The Spirit is defined in John 14 as that which passes between the Thought and the Word and is the Spirit OF God and not another god person.
John 15:18 If the WORLD hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.
John 15:19 If ye were of the world, the world would love his own:

Of Paul called the Synagogue both inclusivie and exclusive:

Rom. 15:1 We then that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak,
        and not to please [Areskos, Placeo] ourselves.
Rom. 15:2 Let every one of us please his neighbour
        for his good to edification. [education]
Rom. 15:3 For even Christ pleased not himself; but, as it is written,
        The reproaches of them that reproached thee fell on me.
Rom. 15:4 For whatsoever things were written aforetime
        were written for our LEARNING,
that we through patience
        and COMFORT of the scriptures might have hope.
It is a well documented fact that Paul never uses the word Spirit to speak of another member of the "family of gods."  The Spirit OF Christ is the Spirit OF God which in 1 Corinthians 2 Paul equated to the MIND of Christ.  Christ gave us the scriptures for LEARNING and COMFORT.

Why is that? That is because Christ ordained the Church of Christ as the Qahal or Synagogue in the wilderness.  Stephen calls it the ekklesia.  Neither the synagogue or ekklesia would tolerate sermonizing out of one's head and would hurt any singer or instrument player in all of the right places.   Notice the two players:
Rom. 15:5 Now the God of patience and consolation
        grant you to be likeminded one toward another according to Christ Jesus:
Rom. 15:6 That ye may with one mind and one mouth glorify God,
        even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ
Theonly way to glorify or praise God in Christ is to use the Words of Christ in the prophets and apostles for education--only. The ekklesia has NO OTHER ROLE.
Aresko or self pleasure outlawed by Paul for the synagogue in Romans 15. This includes any resolution of the church to go beyond what is written.

Apollo, Abaddon and Apollyon represent the modern Seeker form of pagan religion. The Muses were Apollyon's "musical worship team."  John calls their work SORCERY:
Rev. 18:22 And the voice of harpers, and musicians, [Muses] and of pipers, and trumpeters, shall be heard no more at all in thee; and no craftsman, of whatsoever craft he be, shall be found any more in thee; and the sound of a millstone [prostitutes] shall be heard no more at all in thee;

Rev. 18:23 And the light of a candle shall shine no more at all in thee; and the voice of the bridegroom and of the bride shall be heard no more at all in thee: for thy merchants were the great men of the earth; for by thy sorceries were all nations deceived.

Rev. 18:24 And in her was found the blood of prophets, and of saints, and of all that were slain upon the earth.

P. 3  But she made light of Apollo, in the error of her mind, and consented to another marriage without her father's knowledge, although she had before lain with Phoebus of the unshorn hair, [15] and was bearing within her the pure seed of the god. She did not wait for the marriage-feast to come, nor for the full-voiced cry of the hymenaeal chorus, such things as unmarried girls her own age love to murmur in evening songs to their companion.

Pind. P. 1 Golden lyre, rightful joint possession of Apollo and the violet-haired Muses, to which the dance-step listens, the beginning of splendid festivity; and singers obey your notes, whenever, with your quivering strings, you prepare to strike up chorus-leading preludes.

[5] You quench even the warlike thunderbolt of everlasting fire. And the eagle sleeps on the scepter of Zeus, relaxing his swift wings on either side, the king of birds; and you pour down a dark mist over his curved head, a sweet seal on his eyelids. Slumbering, he ripples his liquid back, [10] under the spell of your pulsing notes.
Even powerful Ares, setting aside the rough spear-point, warms his heart in repose; your shafts charm the minds even of the gods, by virtue of the skill of Leto's son and the deep-bosomed Muses. But those whom Zeus does not love are stunned with terror when they hear the cry of the Pierian Muses, on earth or on the irresistible sea.
Pind. O. 1 From there glorious song enfolds the wisdom of poets, so that they loudly sing [10] the son of Cronus, when they arrive at the rich and blessed hearth of Hieron, who wields the scepter of law in Sicily of many flocks, reaping every excellence at its peak, and is glorified [15] by the choicest music, which we men often play around his hospitable table. Come, take the Dorian lyre down from its peg, if the splendor of Pisa and of Pherenicus placed your mind under the influence of sweetest thoughts, [20] when that horse ran swiftly beside the Alpheus, not needing to be spurred on in the race, and brought victory to his master, the king of Syracuse who delights in horses. His glory shines in the settlement of fine men founded by Lydian Pelops, [25] with whom the mighty holder of the earth Poseidon fell in love, when Clotho took him out of the pure cauldron, furnished with a gleaming ivory shoulder.

5] But now, from the bow of the Muses who, shooting from afar, send a shower of such arrows of song as these on Zeus of the red lightning-bolt and on the sacred height of Elis, which once the Lydian hero Pelops [10] won as the very fine dowry of Hippodameia. I am lighting up that dear city with fiery songs, and more swiftly than a spirited horse or a winged ship [25] I will send that message everywhere, so surely as I, by some destined skill, am cultivating the exquisite garden of the Graces; for they are the givers of delight, but men become brave and skillful by divine will

JOHN CHAPTER SIXTEEN

PAUL PREWARNS THE APOSTLES THAT THE WORLD IS A HOSTILE PLACE NOT FILLED WITH "PROSPECTS."

Jack Cottrell references but does not quote John 16:5-15 to prove that the Holy Spirit is ANOTHER or second Comforter.  He thinks that Jesus breathing on the Apostle bestowed the Holy Spirit::
John 20:22 And when he had said this,
        he breathed on them, and saith unto them,
        Receive ye the Holy Ghost:
John 20:23 Whose soever sins ye remit, they are remitted unto them;
        and whose soever sins ye retain, they are retained.

But, Luke explained it this way:
Acts 1:1 The former treatise have I made, O Theophilus,
        of all that Jesus began both to do and teach,
Acts 1:2 Until the day in which he was taken up,
        after that he through the Holy Ghost had given commandments
        unto the apostles whom he had chosen:
Acts 1:3 To whom also he shewed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God:
John 16:1 These things have I spoken unto you,
        that ye should not be offended.

Offended is skandalizo of trying to make you stumble and fall.  Making stumbling blocks to fill all of their spiritual time will be the occupation of false, institutional religion.

John 16:2 They shall put you out of the synagogues:
        yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service.

As a supernatural sign, some people do not hesitate to lie about all of the SPIRIT concept and "instruments" in the Bible and claim that "a" spirit told them that the PATTERN God abandoned Israel to as "the worship of the starry host" because of musical idolatry of a trinity at Mount Sinai was what that "spirit" was now commanding them to do. As a result they have no trouble PUTTING THOUSANDS OUT OF THE SYNAGOGUES by imposing what the godly people understand to be a sin and a MARK OF THE BEAST.

If they lead to a person's life-long church, friendship and even family is broken up to give space to the "BEAST" people, many have undoubtedly gone to their grave seeing their whole lives blown up by a flute blower.

The Qahal or Church in the wilderness was the synagogue or ekklesia: it had only one function: to make known the manifold wisdom of God.
Synagogue has the purpose of:
  1. Bringing people together
  2. To read a collection of writings
  3. To reach a conclusion or inference or understanding of the read text.
Paul defined inclusively and exclusively the Christian assembly with the word
Sunagobring together, gather together: To the temple. Of persons or animals E.Ba.563

The Apostles affirmed and endorsed the Synagogue which has the same meaning as Ekklesia neither of which was a "worship" service and neither had "a praise service"--unless you wanted to get hurt.

Acts 15:21 For Moses of old time hath in every cit
        them that preach him,
        being read in the synagogues every sabbath day.

The synagogue of Satan is defined as the assembly or synagogue of Orpheus and his musicians

Rhea, daughter of Uranos and Gaia, wife of Cronos, mother of Zeus and the gods

In the Orphic Hymn to Rhea: And

Now Rhea, as Ceres, in Hymn XIV, is called 'brass-sounding' and 'drum-beating'. This has reference to the mystical results of certain sounds and rhythm, part and parcel of what the Hindus call Mantravidyâ.

Music and Mantras, therefore, were used by the Orphics to attract, or call down, the influence of the Mother of the Gods, who at the same time was the 'Store-house of Life', of Divine Nature. Thus Proclus in his Commentary on Euclid (ii) tells us that 'the Pole of the World is called by the Pythagoreans the Seal of Rhea' (Myst. Hymns, p. 63).

Kubēbēs. The ‘Great Mother’ goddess of the Phrygians worshipped at Pessinus, the mētēr Dindumēnē of i. 80. 1. For the Anatolian ‘Great Mother’ cf. App. I. 2, Frazer, G. B. iv, Bk. II, Attis, &c.; Ramsay, in Hastings' Bible Dictionary, extra vol., p. 120 f. The Atys myth which involved her cult is connected with Sardis by H.'s story of the son of Croesus (i. 34. 2 n.). The Great Mother was worshipped at Athens in the days of Sophocles (Phil. 391), and identified by the Greeks with Rhea, mother of the gods (cf. iv. 76; Strabo 469), with Aphrodite, with Demeter, and with Artemis as the lady of the wild woods. But here she is regarded as a foreign goddess.

The Scribes and Pharisees were the speakers, writers and performers: they modified the Words of God to make them more saleable and therefore robbed widows by their long prayers which are hymns.  Jesus called them hypocrites by pointing to Isaiah. Ezekiel inspired by the same Spirit OF Christ identified them as speakers, singers and instrument players.  He used beautiful singing and skillful playing of instruments as a symbol of those who loved to listen but had no intention of obeying the Word.  He said that the doctorsof the law "take away the key to knowledge." That is their predestinated role which Jesus identified as of the WORLD and the WISE.

Because the Spirit OF truth or the Spirit OF Christ had been with them in His visible sense, the Spiritual Guide or Jesus could be with all of the disciples could not do so in the man Jesus of Nazareth.  This man or "body prepared for Me" says God instead of animals to kill out of blood lust, would be changed or metamorphosed and would be elevated and will appear again when God wants to make Himself manifest.

THE SPIRIT LORD CALLED HIMSELF JESUS OF NAZARETH TO PAUL

Paul had to SEE and HEAR the risen Lord to be qualified to be an apostle and be "guided into all truth" until all of the eye and ear witnesses had left an example or written history to be used by us. this would mark those who claim to speak for Jesus Christ Who is still the king over His kingdom and ruling in the affairs of the Church of Christ.
Acts 26:15 And I said, Who art thou, Lord? And he said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest.
Acts 26:16 But rise, and stand upon thy feet:
        for I have appeared unto thee for this purpose,
        to make thee a minister and a witness
            both of these things which thou hast seen,
            and of those things in the which I will appear unto thee;
There are many clear records of how to mark and avoid those churches called the "Babylonian mother of harlots) in Revelation 17.  In Revelation 18 she uses the same "lusted after fruits"Amos warned about: they starved the people for thirst of the Word by substituting wine, women and instrumental music even in the temples.

In Revelation 18 Paul calls the craftsmen, singers and instrument players sorcerers who HAD deceived the whole world.  He identifies all who use music as a powerful mind altering drug inducer to keep the Words of God in Christ from being taught with DOGS (Cyincs) and liars as set aside for the lake of Fire. Christ in Isaiah 30 wrote that the marks in sight and sound of God driving His enemies into hell would be the same wind, string and percussion instruments Lucifer brought into the garden of Eden and personified by the king of Tyre and Babylon as the "singing and harp playing prostitute."

John 16:8 And when he is come,
        he will reprove the WORLD of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:
John 16:9 Of sin, because they believe not on me;
John 16:10 Of righteousness,
        because I [Jesus as the visible and audible Son]
        go to my Father, [The Spirit Deity]
        and ye see me no more;
John 16:11 Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.

By not living in the visible dimension, Jesus Christ can be with people at their worst.  If a preacher lies by refusing to teach that which has been taught and still get paid, Jesus has left us the word "parasite" to mark him and avoid him when he struts.

Jesus Christ works any way He wishes but specificially by having a very tiny kingdom not visible nor really audible.  The purpose of that small group--like Job--is to prove that His people can defeat Satan with the right weapons.

All recorded history notes that Satan is the only recorded source of religious musical instruments other than Jubal and Jubal "handled" instruments meaning "without authority."  WE do not REPROVE the WORLD of sin by using the METHODS of the World:

        against the rulers of the darkness of this world, (Kosmos)

BEFORE CONVERSION Jack Cottrell says that the Spirit's work is causing faith and repentance to be created. He notes that the word "elencho" means that the Holy Spirit causes us to feel guilt for the purpose of correcting our behavior.  When this is the meaning the "rebuke" is carried out by faithful believers.

We don't invent "Spiritual songs."

The Apostles had the Mind of Christ guiding them:

1 Cor 2.[14] Now the natural man doesn't receive the things of God's Spirit, for they are foolishness to him, and he can't know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
John 3:19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world,
        and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
John 3:20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light,
        neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
John 3:21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light,
        that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

We will show that the Spirit Whose Name is Jesus Christ is the only mediator between God and man.  The overwhelming role of the Spirit was prophesied to be a SPIRIT OF FIRE and a SPIRIT OF JUDGMENT. The Viper race were promised the baptism of Spirit (wind) and Fire where the chaff will be separated from the wheat to be burned up.  The MARKS in Sights and Sounds of God separating His enemies is that of wind, string and percussion instruments. See Isaiah 30.

SECONDLY, LOOK AT THE VERY DEFINITIONS OF elencho AND HOW IT IS USED:
John 16:8 And when he is come,
        he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:

John 16:10 Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more;
John 16:11 Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.
The name of the Comforter is Jesus Christ the Righteous: Christ in Spirit caused people to create UNCOMFORT ZONE to soften you up to do what knowledge forbids you to do, the Christ is in the midst creating the MARKS of people beyond redemption.

Chapter 2

1 Behold, he comes with ten thousands of his saints, to execute judgment upon them, and destroy the wicked, and reprove all the carnal for everything which the sinful and ungodly have done, and committed against him.

Chapter 8

1 Moreover Azazyel (Tubal-Cain etal.) taught men to make swords, knives, shields, breastplates, the fabrication of mirrors, and the workmanship of bracelets and ornaments, the use of paint, the beautifying of the eyebrows, the use of stones of every valuable and select kind, and all sorts of dyes, so that the world became altered.

In the Sons of The Gods:

(r) Genun (Tubal-Cain etal.) the Canaanite, son of Lamech the Blind, living in the Land of the Slime Pits,
was ruled by Azael from his earliest youth,
and invented all sorts of musical instruments.
When he played these, Azael entered into them too,
so that they gave forth seductive tunes entrancing the hearts of all listeners.
Genun
would assemble companies of musicians,
who inflamed one another with music until their lust burned bright like fire,
and they lay together promiscuously.

He also brewed
beer, gathered great crowds in taverns, gave them to drink,
and taught them to forge iron swords and spear-points,
with which to do murder at random when they were drunk.
Jude 11 Woe unto them! for they have gone in the way of Cain,
        and ran greedily after the error of Balaam for reward,
        and perished in the gainsaying of Core.
Jude 12 These are spots in your feasts of charity, when they feast with you,
        feeding themselves without fear: clouds they are without water,
        carried about of winds; trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit,
        twice dead, plucked up by the roots;
Jude 13 Raging waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame;
        wandering stars, to whom is reserved the blackness of darkness for ever.
Jude 14 And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying,
        Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints,
Jude 15 To execute judgment upon all,
        and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds
        which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches
        which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.

Jude 16 These are , complainers, walking after their own lusts; and their mouth speaketh great swelling words, having men’s persons in admiration because of advantage.

John 16:12 I have yet many things to say unto you,
        but ye cannot bear them now.

John 16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit OF truth,
The Spirit OF Truth is the "I" in John 14:18.  He bears the NAME of Jesus Christ.  He speaks only what Jesus speaks.

He is the G3875 paraklētos par-ak'-lay-tos An intercessor, consoler:—advocate, comforter.

Jesus BREATHED on the Apostles so that they could receive the Holy Spirit
John 20:22 And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost:

John 20:23 Whose soever sins ye remit, they are remitted unto them; and whose soever sins ye retain, they are retained.
Which means:
Acts 1:1 The former treatise have I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach,
Acts 1:2 Until the day in which he was taken up,
        after that he through the Holy Ghost had given commandments
        unto the apostles whom he had chosen:
Acts 1:3 To whom also he shewed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs,being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God:

Acts 1:4 And, being assembled together with them,
        commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem,
        but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me.
John 21:24 This is the disciple which testifieth [To be a witness] of these things,
        and wrote these things:
        and we know that his testimony is true.
John 21:25 And there are also many other things which Jesus did,
        the which, if they should be written every one,
     I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written. Amen.
Rev. 19:9 He said to me, “Write, ‘Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb.’”
        He said to me, “These are true words of God.”
Rev. 19:10 I fell down before his feet to worship him.
        He said to me, “Look! Don’t do it! I am a fellow bondservant with you
        and with your brothers who hold the testimony of Jesus.
        Worship God, for the testimony of Jesus is the Spirit of Prophecy.”
The Spirit OF Christ would continue to guide the apostles into all truth.

is come, he will guide you into all truth:
        for he shall not speak of himself;
        but whatsoever he shall hear,
        that shall he speak:
        and he will shew you things to come. John 16:14 He shall glorify me:
        for he shall receive of mine,
        and shall shew it unto you.
John 16:15 All things that the Father hath are mine:
        therefore said I, that he shall take of mine,
        and shall shew it unto you.

Therefore, the Spirit OF Christ will never tell anyone anything that contradicts the Words of Jesus Christ in person. That is to MARK anyone who claims--as all pagans did--that the "spirit" is leading them to charismatic worship which connects only to the flesh and "makes the lambs silent before the slaughter."
John 16:16 A little while, and ye shall not see me:
        and again, a little while, and ye shall see me,
        because I go to the Father.
John 16:17 Then said some of his disciples among themselves,
        What is this that he saith unto us, A little while, and ye shall not see me:
        and again, a little while, and ye shall see me: and, Because I go to the Father?
John 16:18 They said therefore, What is this that he saith, A little while? we cannot tell what he saith.

John 16:19 Now Jesus knew that they were desirous to ask him,
        and said unto them, Do ye inquire among yourselves of that I said, A little while, and ye shall not see me:
        and again, a little while, and ye shall see me?
John 16:20 Verily, verily, I say unto you,
        That ye shall weep and lament,
        but the WORLD shall rejoice:
        and ye shall be sorrowful,
        but your sorrow shall be turned into joy.
John 16:21 A woman when she is in travail hath sorrow, because her hour is come:
        but as soon as she is delivered of the child,
        she remembereth no more the anguish,
        for joy that a man is born into the world.
John 16:22 And ye now therefore have sorrow:
        but I will see you again, and your heart shall rejoice,
        and your joy no man taketh from you.
John 16:23 And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you,
        Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you.
John 16:24 Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name:
        ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.
John 16:25 These things have I spoken unto you in proverbs:
        but the time cometh, when I shall no more speak unto you in proverbs,
        but I shall shew you plainly of the Father.
John 16:26 At that day ye shall ask in my name:
        and I say not unto you, that I will pray the Father for you:
John 16:27 For the Father himself loveth you,
        because ye have loved me,
        and have believed that I came out from God.
John 16:28 I came forth from the Father, and am come into the world:
        again, I leave the world, and go to the Father.
John 16:29 His disciples said unto him, Lo, now speakest thou plainly, and speakest no proverb.
John 16:30 Now are we sure that thou knowest all things,
        and needest not that any man should ask thee:
        by this we believe that thou camest forth from God.
John 16:31 Jesus answered them, Do ye now believe?
John 16:32 Behold, the hour cometh,
        yea, is now come, that ye shall be scattered, every man to his own,
        and shall leave me alone:
        and yet I am not alone, because the Father is with me.

John 16:33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace.
        In the WORLD shall have tribulation:
        but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

Our task is not to "be as much like the world as possible to win the world" but to act as a tiny demonstration kingdom of God in Christ pronouncing final sentence on the world by reproving their pagan "worship."
