Matt
Dabbs What is Romans 6 Really All About?
Matt.Dabbs.A.Discipleship.Movement:
He CAST A VISION.
See that ye refuse not him that speaketh.
For if they escaped not who refused him that spake on earth,
much more shall not we
escape, if we turn away from him that speaketh from heaven: Heb 12:25
Whose voice then shook
the earth: but now he hath promised, saying, Y
et once more I shake
not the earth only, but also heaven. Heb 12:26
And this word, Yet once
more, signifieth the removing of those things that
are shaken,
as of things that
are MADE, that those things which cannot be shaken may
remain. Heb 12:27
Wherefore we receiving a
kingdom which cannot be moved,
let us have grace,
whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and
godly fear: Heb 12:28
For our God
is a consuming fire Heb 12:29.
Matt Dabbs Wineskins.org refutes the baptism prophesied by
Christ, commanded by Jesus, fully explained in Romans.
He thinks that if Paul explains how the Romans obeyed in the
past tense the direct command to be baptized that is NOT a
command for those who are not already SAFE. He says that
they were saved by FAITH.
Sounds to me like they are preaching the same thing Paul
preached in Ephesians and Romans. Here is their statement on
Salvation,
But God be
thanked,
..........that ye were the
servants of sin,
..........but ye have obeyed from the heart
..........that form of doctrine which
was delivered you. Ro.6:17
Being THEN made free from sin,
..........ye became the
servants of righteousness. Rom 6:18

Dabbs Preacher Mike: "We
believe salvation is a gift from God,
and a deep
reflection of his grace and mercy towards us.
By placing our
faith in God’s great work thru Jesus Christ,
we are saved from

the future.
The Spirit OF
Christ guided Paul and others to repudiate that: to

For or the word EIS can never be translated as "because

Matt Dabbs is a nice guy but it is more than pretense when he
dismisses your quoting of Scripture by saying "I don't
understand you." I believe him because BAPTISM SAVES because
we request A holy spirit or A good conscience so that we can
read BLACK text on BROWN paper. Or hear it
when the command is to PREACH the Word (only) by READING the
Word: disciples go to Bible class and we are "washed with
water into the Word or into the school of Christ.

"innocence," Eve and the serpent being very significantly
introduced in close conjunction, and indeed becoming in
some sense identified

In fact the Arabic word for
serpent, hayyal, may be said also to mean "life," and in this sense the
legendary first human mother is called Eve or Chevvah, in Arabic Hawwa. In its relations, as
an asserted fact, the question of the fall has an
important bearing on the subject before us. Sacred

Cope: Paul taught salvation
as a gift from God (Rom 5-6 & Eph 2)
while also teaching baptism
as a “response to God’s love towards us in Jesus”
(Acts
2:38 teaches baptism as do the other conversions in Acts
& Romans 6).
You cannot just accidentially call the Spirit OF Christ a
liar. You don't believe that there is a gift waiting for you
if you are such an ingrate that you do not comply with the
terms:
2Chr. 19:7 Wherefore now let the fear of the
LORD be upon you;
take heed and do it: for
there is no iniquity with the LORD our God,
nor respect of
persons, nor taking of gifts.
Corrupting the Word is selling learning at retail: the word
means prostitution. A carrot is a gift of God: no human
can make it. You spit in the face of a gracious God if you claim
"I don't have to."
Eccl. 3:13 And also that every man should eat
and drink, and enjoy the good of all HIS labour, it
is the gift of God.
Salvation is a GIFT but all but a TINY FLOCK will not want to
accept the free gift? Theologians don't believe Isaiah 55
where Christ commanded us NOT to pay for the Free Water of the
Word: the one piece pattern from the wilderness onward was to
READ and rehearse the Word. Matt Dabbs violates the
private interpretation or further expounds which will always
get you fried.
That's false: The finished work of Jesus is the PROTOTYPE
(Romans 15) gospel. We obey a FORM of that TUPOS as a
REQUIREMENT for being free from sins. No one is declared
Free from sins by faith only. No one is received into the
heavenly kingdom or church without being baptized. Those
able to RECEIVE THE WORD said WHAT MUST WE DO? Peter told them
that they must repent and be baptized IN ORDER to the
remission of sins. No Scripture says that
We are kept SAFE by Grace (which teaches) and Faith (which
obeys). Theologians are not able to read the SAFE FROM WHAT?

Matt.Dabbs.What.is.Romans.6.About?
Chapters 6 and 7 are sandwiched between
“having been justified
by faith resulting in peace with God” (5:1)
and “There is
therefore now no condemnation…for those who are in Christ..”
(8:1)
Paul tells
that everyone is justified by FAITH. Jesus was
forced to send Peter to convince the doubting Jews.
Acts 10:35 But in
every nation he that feareth him, and worketh
righteousness, is accepted with him.
There is
nothing IMPURE because Jesus told us so: Gentiles and
Swine are QUALIFIED to be saved by being baptze.
Matt Dabbs Wineskins.org: I have
quoted or turned to Romans 6:1-6 & Romans 6:23 dozens of
times when talking with people about becoming a Christian
and the importance of baptism. Only recently have I
really taken a look at Romans 6 in light of what Paul
is actually TRYING to say
through the context
and audience
of the letter.
Paul says the same things to all of the churches including
the fact that no one receives remission of sins without asking
for it in obedience in Baptism.
Again, Romans is a letter and when we
write a letter we write it with a purpose and it has a
logical flow. When we prooftext things we
strip them of their context and miss much of what is
actually being said.
For instance, in Romans 6:1 Paul
writes, “What shall we say then?” That implies that
what he is about to say is predicated on what he has just
said in the previous chapter. So what did he say in 5 that
informs our views on what is in Chapter 6? Let’s have a
look.
Paul said that
they HAD (passed tense) obeyed a TYPE or a pattern capable
of being imitated in baptism as the form or
ANTI-tupos. ANTI here means INSTEAD OF: they
imitated a form of the finished work of Jesus to walk in
His steps INSTEAD of dying on the cross for our own sins.
In 5 Paul was talking about sin and grace.
He mentioned the sin that came through Adam (5:12) and how
much greater was the grace that came through Jesus
Christ (5:15). His point was that once you are unified
with Christ you have life (5:17-21).
Rom 5:15 But not as the
offence, so also is the free gift.
For if through
the offence of one many be dead,
much more the grace
of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man,
Jesus Christ, hath
abounded unto many.
Rom 5:16 And not as it was by one that sinned,
so is the gift: for
the judgment was by one to condemnation,
but the
free gift is of many offences unto
justification.
The death of Jesus proved to the Jews that no person is impure
or unrighteous or unjustified because they are not Jews. Jesus
declares that Gentiles are not made pure because Jesus said that
it was so. This PURITY also applied to swine but that does mean
that swine can be Disciples of Christ.
Rom 5:17 For if by one
man's offence death reigned by one;
much more they which
receive abundance of grace
and of the gift
of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus
Christ.)
Rom 5:18 Therefore as by the offence of one
judgment came upon all men to condemnation;
even so by the
righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto
justification of life.
Rom 5:19 For as by one man's disobedience many
were made sinners,
so by the
obedience of one
shall many be
made righteous.
SHALL is future tense: Jesus died for the sins
of the whole world but the whole world are not saved just
because Jesus died. By the FAITH of Jesus Christ it is proven
that no man nor swine is IMPURE. Peter was sent to tell
Cornelius a god fearer and justified man WHAT TO DO TO BE
SAVED. A pure person is a justified person in that their
society does not know them as thieves or liars. The Jews
said that the Gentiles could not be BAPTIZED for or in order to
the remission os sins because they, like swine and dogs, were
impure. However,
Acts 10:33 Immediately
therefore I sent to thee; and thou hast well done that thou
art come.
Now therefore are we
all here present before God,
to hear all things
that are commanded thee of God.
Acts 10:34 Then Peter opened his mouth, and said,
Of a truth I perceive
that God is no respecter of persons:
Acts 10:35 But in every nation he that feareth him,
and worketh righteousness,
is accepted with him.
Cornelius was a righteous man because he was a godfearer: Peter
came to tell him what to do to be "washed with water into the
Word" or into the school of Christ. After the Jewish
troublers dared not object, Peter told Cornelius to be baptized.
The Jews believed that they were predestined and could not be
lost because they were chosen by God. In Romans 9-11 Paul
reminds them of their fall into musical-trinitarian idolatry at
Mount Sinai and God sentenced them into captivity and death.
Therefore, their Scriptures proved that being a Jew was not what
counted.
Saved always means SAVED FROM that which wineskins.org
always promotes. Justification does not mean the remission of
sins: One is not justified by the Law of Moses but one is
justified in the eyes of God meaning that one is QUALIFIED
to be baptized FOR the remission of sins.
Rom 5:20 Moreover the
law entered, that the offence might abound.
But where sin
abounded, grace did much more abound:
Rom. 5:21 That as sin hath reigned unto death,
even so MIGHT
grace reign through righteousness
unto eternal
life by Jesus Christ our Lord.
The Grace of God TEACHES: those who were declared righteous must
the let Grace REIGN in their lives before there could be eternal
life.

Matt Dabbs Wineskins.org: Paul
begins chapter 6 this way, “What shall we say, then? Shall
we go on sinning so that grace may increase?” Because Paul
cannot be there in person to deliver this letter, he
masterfully takes on their questions in advance and then
addresses them one by one.
The natural question that results from
what he said in chapter 5 would be this, “If God looks so
glorious because of how much grace He gave through Jesus to
forgive sin, wouldn’t he look even more glorious if He had
to give even more grace?” And how would He do that? If we
sinned even more! That is the attitude, in my view, that
Paul is addressing in chapter 6. We will unpack 6 to
see how he answers it in a moment.
What God hath
packed no man shall UNPACK!
Rom. 6:1 What
shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace
may abound?
Rom. 6:2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin,
live any longer therein?
This is just one letter. Grace had appeared teaching them
that Baptism was the picture of Grace because as ANTI-tupos or a
pattern intended to be imitated, they had been washed and as
Hebrews 12 warns that if you dispute the Word there is no more
remission of sin. Remission of sin came only when they wer
baptized.
Rom. 6:3 Know ye not, that so many of
us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized
into his death? Rom. 6:4 Therefore
we are buried with him by baptism into death:
that like
as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of
the Father,
even so we also
should walk in newness of life.
God did not
pronounce Jesus as a Son of a father (not the daughter of
a mother) until AFTER Jesus obeyed and was baptized.
Before we do that we have to remind
ourselves that Paul is writing to Christians, not
non-Christians. What is funny about how we use this
verse is that we have traditionally used it to speak to non-Christians
about baptism.
THEY BECAME
CHRISTIANS ONLY AFTER THEY WERE BAPTIZED: simple. If
you want to BECOME a Christian then you must talk about
baptism. The death of Jesus applied only to the
Jesus. However, if you want to obey that FORM of
teaching in the FUTURE then you have to obey the form the
people 2,000 years ago obeyed.
Matt Dabbs Wineskins.org: That
is not at all what Paul is doing or even intending in
this chapter! Paul is saying that once we realize what
actually took place at our baptism, we cannot even
think of asking such a question that might rationalize us
sinning all the more. Why? Because we have died to that master
(6:2 & 7). You cannot talk about continuing to live in
something you have died to. Paul uses the example of
slavery. Once a slave dies, he is no longer bound to serve
his master. In baptism we have died to the master of sin and
are set free from those old ways. We are raised to follow a
new master…one who brings us holiness and eternal life
(6:22).
There is something irrational here: everything in the
Bible happened to people who lived thousands of years
ago. If you are present perfect tense enslaved to
something then you need to look backward and see what others
did to get free. Paul said absolutely noting to or about

death, or of obedience unto righteousness?
Rom. 6:17 But God be thanked, that ye WERE the servants of
sin,
but ye have obeyed
from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered
you.
Rom. 6:18 Being THEN FREE FROM SIN
ye became the
servants of righteousness.
Matt Dabbs
Wineskins.org: So
this beautiful picture of what is happening in our
baptism in Romans 6 is NOT written to convince
non-Christians they should be baptized. It is written
to convince Christians not to fall back into sin. Those
who are baptized are raised from the waters of death to sin
to walk a new life (6:4). Through this act we are united
with Christ both in his death (6:3) and also in his
resurrection (6:5). When you think of the grandest moments
of the Gospel story it has to be the death, burial, and
resurrection of our Lord. Here, Paul is saying that we
participate with Christ in that and in doing so, just like
Christ…we don’t have to die ever again (6:8-11). Praise God!
The PATTERN for
participation ordained by Jesus Christ is to follow Him
and BE BAPTIZED without which there is no remission of
sins.
1Tim. 1:13 Who was before a blasphemer,
and a persecutor, and injurious:
but
I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief.
1Tim. 1:14 And the grace of our Lord was exceeding
abundant
with faith and love
which is in Christ Jesus.
1Tim. 1:15 This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all
acceptation,
that Christ Jesus came
into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.
1Tim. 1:16 Howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy,
that in me first Jesus
Christ might shew forth all longsuffering,
for a PATTERN
to them which should hereafter believe on him to life
everlasting.
Acts 22:7 And I fell unto
the ground, and heard a voice saying unto me,
Saul, Saul, why
persecutest thou me?
Acts 22:8 And I answered, Who art thou, Lord?
And he said unto me,
I am Jesus of Nazareth, whom thou persecutest.
Acts 22:9 And they that were with me saw indeed the light,
and were afraid; but
they heard not the voice of him that spake to me.
Acts 22:10 And I said, What shall I do, Lord? And the Lord
said unto me,
Arise, and go into
Damascus;
and there it shall
be told thee of all things which are appointed for
thee to do.
PAUL WAS STILL IN HIS SINS
Acts 22:14 And he said, The God of our
fathers hath chosen thee,
that thou shouldest
know his will,
and see that
Just One, and shouldest hear the voice of his mouth.
Acts 22:15 For thou shalt be his witness unto all men of
what thou hast seen and heard.
Acts 22:16 And now why tarriest thou?
arise,
and be baptized,
and
wash away thy sins,
calling
on the name of the Lord.
Titus 2:7 In all things shewing thyself
a pattern of good works:
in doctrine shewing
uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity,
Heb. 8:5 Who serve unto the example and shadow of
heavenly things, as Moses was admonished of God when
he was about to make the tabernacle: for, See, saith he,
that thou make all things according to the pattern shewed to
thee in the mount.
Heb. 9:23 It was therefore necessary
that the patterns
of things in the heavens should be purified with these;
but the heavenly
things themselves with better sacrifices than these.
Paul is speaking to believers who HAD received the
Remission of sins ONLY because they had OBEYED that TYPE:
Baptism is the ANTI-tupos or "instead of." We are baptized
INSTEAD of dying for our own sins. Now that they have received
Remission of Sins by obeying, Paul is saying that this does
not make you predestinated even as the Law did not predestine
them.
The flood and the Red Sea are prophetic types of those who
are saved by FAITH when they Obey the command of God.

Remission of Sins [Malachi
3; Mark 1]
THE WORD APISTOS OR BELIEVETH NOT REFUTING BAPTISM MAKES ONE
A TRAITOR
Matt Dabbs Wineskins.org: Before
we move on to 6:12ff we have to talk for a moment about the
kingdom of God. When Jesus came to earth and began his
ministry Mark records that he preached repentance and the
coming kingdom of God (Mark 1:15). In Mark 9:1 Jesus said,
“I tell you the truth, some who are standing here will not taste
death before they see the kingdom of God come
with power.” We would assume he is talking about Pentecost
but whatever your interpretation of that verse is, it
is clear that Jesus did not view the kingdom as something a
zillion year from now in a land far, far away. Instead he
viewed it as something that was being revealed in the hear
and now and that we can participate in.
Mark spoke of
the BEGINNING of the gospel of the kingdom. The Word is
ARCHE or that which is the foundation of the kingdom. He
immediately launched into the baptism by John, of Jesus
and by the disciples of Jesus.
IF YOU HOLD
WORSHIP SERVICES FOR SALE YOU DO NOT KNOW THE MEANING OF
THE KINGDOM
Matt Dabbs wants
to see baptism as just a reminder that we were
saved by grace through faith. However, Jesus said that the
kingdom of God is within us: it does not come with
observation meaning RELIGIOUS OBSERVATIONS sold to an
audience by religious performers denying the Word, Logos
or Regulative Principle.
Scriptures are
not subject to Private Interpretation or further
expounding or corrupting meaning selling learning at
retail. We don't INTERPRET the Spirit of Christ we
accept it or were are NOT one of the lost spirits Jesus
was sent to CALL or invite.
Col. 1:13 Who
hath delivered us from the power of darkness,
and hath translated
us into the kingdom of his dear Son:
They are added to
the kingdom or invisible church or ekklesia only by the
instrumental means Jesus had the authority to prescribe.
Acts 2:36 Therefore let all
the house of Israel know assuredly, [house domos or
laity NOT priests or Levites]
that God [Theos] hath made that same
Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord [Kurios] and Christ.
Acts 2:37 ¶Now when they heard this, they were pricked in
their heart,
and said unto Peter
and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what
shall we do?
Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be
baptized every one of you
in the name of Jesus
Christ [not father, son, spirit]
for the
remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy
Ghost.
For is "what I mean" and it is IN ORDER
TO the remission of sins.
If you don't lie or steal from the widows and honor God
then you are a righteous person meaning that you have the
legal standing to REQUEST A holy spirit or A good
conscience when BAPTISM SAVES YOU. Don't call Peter a
liar.
Acts 2:39 For the promise is unto you, and to your
children, and to all that are afar off,
even as many as the
Lord our God shall call.
Not everyone can receive the Word as the invitation extended
to the whole world but only received by the LOST SPIRITS Jesus
was sent to save OUT of the World or Kosmos or Satan's Reign.
Acts 2:41 Then they that gladly received his word were
baptized:
and the same day there
were added unto them about three thousand souls.
Acts 2:47 Praising God, and having favour with all the people.
And the Lord added to
the church daily such as should be saved.
Only those who gladly receive the Word or LOGOS will want to be
baptized SO THAT God will remit their sins and add them to His
INVISIBLE kingdom which has no earthly kings or queens or
whatevers.
Acts 3:19 Repent ye therefore, and be converted,
that your sins may be
blotted out,
when the times of
refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord;
Acts 3:20 And he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was
preached unto you:
BAPTIZED AND CONVERTED HAVE THE SAME MEANING: Jesus didn't
convert you when He died.
Matt Dabbs Wineskins.org: So
what about the rest of the chapter? Romans 6:12 ties back
with a “therefore” – “do not let sin reign in your mortal
body so that you obey its evil desires.” He goes on to say
that we are either instruments of wickedness or of
righteousness and that what we do in the body actually does
have a spiritual impact on our lives (6:12-14). There is no
room for dualism here. There is no big disconnect between
body and soul. I think we would all agree that our actions
have spiritual consequences but I wonder how often we live
with that in mind. Isn’t it great to think that we are to be
instruments of righteousness here on earth? We can be used
by the hand of God to accomplish His will but we have to
remember who we are, what we have died to and why we live
again.
BAPTISM IS THE CHRIST-ORDAINED
INSTRUMENTAL MEANS TO BE WASHED WITH WATER INTO THE WORD
OR SCHOOL OF CHRIST. Peter says
that BAPTISM SAVES because baptism is HOW and WHEN we
apply to Jesus to be admitted as a DISCIPLE.
LOOKING BACKWARD:
But God be
thanked,
..........that ye were the
servants of sin,
..........but ye have obeyed from the heart
..........that form of doctrine
which was delivered you. Ro.6:17
Being THEN made free from sin,
..........ye became the

Baptism
speak of DEATH and BURIAL: you do not bury
people ALREADY resurrected.
People
who are dead in trespasses and sins are dead in their OWN
sins. Being alienated from God does not mean
UNCONSIOUS.
God
forbid. How shall we, that are DEAD TO SIN to sin, live any longer
therein? Rom 6:2
Know ye not, that so
many of us
..........as were baptized into Jesus Christ
..........were baptized into his death? Rom 6:3
Jesus
was dead when he went into the tomb.
He came OUT of the tomb alive.
Therefore in this type or "pattern meant to be imitated"
Jesus was not alive before he was buried.
Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death:
that LIKE AS Christ was RAISED up from the dead by the glory of the Father,
even so we also should walk in
newness of LIFE. Rom 6:4
This "baptism" is a LIKENESS of Jesus
being PLANTED into the tomb. We are not baptized INTO
the holy spirit.
For if we have been planted together in the likeness (Form) of his death,
we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection: Rom 6:5
Baptism of the Spirit was a sign of judgment against the
Jews whom John identified as a generation of vipers: Jesus
transferred His Spirit or Mind in a face-to-face teaching of
WORDS to his selected Apostles.
They gave us the Word as Spirit and Life because Paul said
that he MINISTERED the Spirit by PREACHING.
Baptism of Spirit and fire was a promise and a threat: it is
not something you can obey:
Know
ye not, that to whom ye yield
yourselves servants to obey,
..........his servants ye are to whom
ye obey;
..........whether of sin unto death,
..........or of obedience unto
righteousness? Rom 6:16
But God be thanked,
..........that ye were the servants of sin,
..........but ye have obeyed from the heart
..........that form of doctrine which was delivered you. Ro.6:17

Matt Dabbs
Wineskins.org: So
Romans 6 is more than a series of prooftexts (Rom 6:1-6
& 6:23) to be pulled out and used
at the proper time. This continues his line of thinking from
the beginning of the letter but especially from chapter 5. I
will post thoughts on chapter 5 soon.
IF YOU SAY THAT ROMANS 6 DOES NOT PROVE THE ONLY WAY TO
HAVE SINS REMITTED THEN YOU PROVE TO BE A LIAR.
Here is what you should pull out as a PROOFTEXT and PATTERN.
Acts 2:37 Now when they heard
this, they were pricked in their heart, and said
unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and
brethren, what shall we do?
Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be
baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ
FOR (eis) the remission of sins,
and
ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. [A holy spirit: yours]
Acts 2:39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children,
and to all that are
afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.
As always Baptism is for the remission of sins and having our
spirits translated into the heavenly kingdom but the NEED is to
save yourself from the Crooked Generation speaking of the
symposium with flute girls and wine and homosexuality.
Acts 2:40 And with many other
words did he testify and exhort, saying,
Save
yourselves from this untoward generation.
Acts 2:41 Then they that gladly received his word were baptized:
and the same day there
were added unto them about three thousand souls.
Acts 2:47 Praising God, and having
favour with all the people.
And the Lord
added to the church daily such as should be saved.
By questioning the prophesied Pentecost event Matt Dabbs does
in fact OBSCURE the fact that Romans 6 is a PROOF TEXT which
applies to anyone whom Jesus has invited: only the losts
spirits not OF the World will HEAR the invitation and want to
be baptized without getting paid to debunk it:
IT IS A PROOF TEXT NEEDING NO THEOLOGY IF ONE ASKS TO BECOME
A DISCIPLE OF CHRIST.
I am quite
certain that those who have historically understood
baptism could also grasp that only those BAPTIZED have the
power to live a righteeous lie.
THEOLOGIANS
NEVER ASK "SAVED FROM WHAT?" The what is what they
call worship services where you sell your body to speak
your own words: Jesus said that marks you as the son of
the Devil in the sperm or DNA.

The starry host was "Sabazianism" and being a goyim or
national religion was called "demonism" by Paul speaking
of Mount Sinai.
