It is a STRONG DELUSION that God ever commanded a DAY for worship.
It is a STRONG DELUSION that God ever commanded any action by the hands of men as worship.
It is a STRONG DELUSION to claim that Jesus died in vain unable to "supply all that applies to life and godliness."
It is a STRONG DELUSION that God ever authorized ANY FUNDING for any funded STAFF to ride on the backs of widows
It is a STRONG DELUSION to claim that God commanded SINGING with or without a Mechanical Device.
It is a STRONG DELUSION and a LIE that there is a Law of Tithing or a Law of Giving

The ancient Middle East constituted an ecumene. The term ecumene comes from the Greek word oikoumene, which means the inhabited world and designates a distinct cultural-historical community. The material effects of the commercial and cultural interconnections that permeated the component regions of the ancient Middle Eastern ecumene are richly supplied by archaeological excavations, which provide evidence of the spread of architectural, ceramic, metallurgical, and other products of ancient Middle Eastern man's industry.

Manufacturing and services tended to be monopolized by professional guilds, including religious personnel specializing in sacrifices, oracles, divination, and other kinds of priestcraft. The mobility of such guilds throughout the entire area helps to explain the spread of specific religious ideas and techniques over great distances. Just as guild potters spread ceramic forms and methods, so also guild priests spread their religious concepts and practices from the Indian Ocean to the Aegean Sea, and from the Nile River to Central Asia. The Greek poet Homer, in the Odyssey, noted the mobility of guildsmen, mentioning religious personnel as well as architects, physicians, and minstrels. Guild priests called kohanim were found at ancient Ugarit on the Mediterranean coast of northern Syria as well as in Israel. Moreover, Mycenaean Greek (late Bronze Age) methods of sacrifice are similar to the Hebraic methods, which are preserved in many countries to this day in the traditional techniques of Jewish ritual slaughter.

"The ancient Middle East made a place for homosexuality and bestiality in its myths and rites. In the Asherah cult the qedeshim priests had a reputation for homosexual practices, even as the qedeshot priestesses for prostitution. Israel eventually banned both the qedeshim and qedeshot, while in Ugarit the and kohanim were priestly guilds in equally good standing. Baal is portrayed in Ugaritic mythology as impregnating a heifer to sire the young bull god. The biblical book of Leviticus (18:22--27) bans homosexuality and bestiality expressly because the Canaanite population had been practicing those rites, which the Hebrews rejected as abominations

Making the whole story of our lives about the salvation found in physical intimacy is to miss the grander picture of intimate salvation promised to Beloved Humanity by God the Lover.

NO LAW OF GIVING

I keep searching for some one to grasp that any kind of MUSIC while claiming to be a Disciple of Christ with Him as Teacher is the INSTRUMENT of all evil.  Maybe that is why God always connects people distracting with rhetoric or music with "refusing to listen to God's Words" as. well as to BURNING.

Plato, Euthydemus

[289d] On what proof do you rely? I asked.

I see, he said, certain speech-writers who do not know how to use the special arguments composed by themselves, just as lyre-makers in regard to their lyres: in the former case also there are other persons able to use what the makers produced, while being themselves unable to make the written speech. Hence it is clear that in speech likewise there are two distinct arts, one of making and one of using.

I think you give sufficient proof, I said, that this art of the speech-writers cannot be that whose acquisition would make one happy. And yet I fancied that somewhere about this point would appear the knowledge which we have been seeking all this while.

[289e] For not only do these speech-writers themselves, when I am in their company, impress me as prodigiously clever, Cleinias, but their art itself seems so exalted as to be almost inspired. However, this is not surprising; for it is a part of the SORCERER'S art, epōdōn tekhnēs

All uses of musical (noise) instruments are left by the Spirit OF Christ of those performance hired preachers, singers or instrument players: neither intends to either speak or obey the WORD (Dabaf-Logos) as the Regulative Principle which OUTLAWS rhetoric, singing or playing instruments when the assembly is commanded to assemble ONCE EACH WEEK on the REST day to Read and Rehearse or learn and mutually confess that God speaks and we listen.

Instruments are also the marks of God driving His enemies into HELL or ALIVE into the LAKE OF FIRE: the craftsmen are called SORCERERS which includes any enhancement of words refusing to "use one mind and one mouth" to teach that which is written for our LEARNING.

The Israelite fell into instrumental-trinitarian idolatry at Mount sinai: this was a sin beyond redemption and God abandoned them to worship the starry host. All of the Lost Tribes of Abilene use God's ABANDONMENT to say that "a" spirit commanded them to sow massive discord by becoming Instrumental Sectarian.  Jude says not to worry because they are spirits of old who HAD once deceived the whole world. This world created by Jesus as the Christ is RESERVED FOR FIRE.

Revelation 18F: they are all called Sorcerers who HAD once deceived the whole world.
They WILL BE CAST ALIVE INTO THE LAKE OF FIRE.

Jesus said that Doctors of the Law take away (steal) the Key to Knowledge.  Salvation gives us A holy spirit so that we can read BLACK text on BROWN paper.  He gave us Knowledge through salvation.

All of the Bible proves that the Doctors of the Law use theatrical and musical performance which means to "make the lambs dumb before the slaughter." This is not accidental or incidental ignorance: Paul said that the Christ Gift was to APT elders as the only pastor teacers. In Ephesians 4 before they could hold SCHOOL OF CHRIST as the one piece pattern they first had to cast out the cunning craftsmen or sophists: sophists are rhetoricians, singers, instrument players and actors. Jesus said that God HIDES from the sophist.  The reason for ejecting all of the hypocrites and hypocritic acts of worship is that THEY ARE LYING IN WAIT TO DECEIVE.

You can discuss the DOCTORS OF THE LAW as well as a separate forum thread showing that MUSIC is the weapon of sorcery and deceit. You don't have to post your name.

Also see Doctors of the Law and Simony.  Jesus said that they take away the Key to Knowledge. He called the Scribes and Pharisees, Hypocrites. In Ezekiel 33 Christ named self-speakers for hire, singers and instrument players.  These are the Spirit's definition of NOTHING AT ALL because it proves that neither STAFF nor paying audience intend to listen to the Word nor obey it. The Word is the Logos or God's Regulative Principle.  Simony only works if you refute the Word.

Doctors of the Law Teachers of Legalism

In Ephesians 4 Christ gave faithful churches elders as the only pastor-teachers of the flock. Their first task is to eject the cunning craftsmen or sophists: speakers for pay, singers and instrument players.  They must be ejected because THEY ARE LYING IN WAIT TO DECEIVE.

1Tim. 5:17 Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honour, especially they who labour in the word and doctrine.

THE DIRECT COMMAND FROM CHRIST THE ROCK FOR THE CHURCH IN THE WILDERNESS EXCLUDED VOCAL OR INSTRUMENTAL REJOICING SO THAT:

Acts 15:21 For Moses of old time
         hath in every city
        them that PREACH him,
        being READ in the synagogues every sabbath day.

The epistles and all resources are to be SPOKEN or READ so that no one can insert a private opinion.
LEXIS as SPEAK is the OPPOSITE of ODE.

  1. If you say that Churches of Christ which did not use INSTRUMENTS during the School of the Word from the Wilderness onwwars was just and evil tradition.
  2. And from Genesis to Revelation musical machines are said to have been brought by Lucifer (ZOE) into the garden of Eden and resulted in some sexual hanky panky to REVELATION when the Babylon mother of harlot rises again and ALL of her religious STAFF are called sorcerers and will be cast alive into the Lake of Fire.
  3. Then Christ in Jeremiah 23 says that you despise the Word and the Latin word is BLASPHEME
The ONLY meaning of LEGALISM identifies the MUSES promoting the LAWS of Apollo who is the Apollyon of Revelation. John calls the "lusted after fruits" as rhetoricians, singers and instrument players SORCERERS who had deceived the whole world.

A musical instrument is their "machine for doing hard work, making war and SHOCKING your pants off."

Making literal MELODY is the MARK of sorcery: Paul said do that IN the heart and you won't HARM people.

This "arousal singing" was always associated with Phoibos who was the BRIGHT ONE who is also Lucifer and Zoe. He competed with the Pythian spirit Paul cast out of the little TRAFFICING girl USED by men.

Xenophon,on Socrates Symposium 9. 3] Then, to start proceedings, in came Ariadne, apparelled as a bride, and took her seat in the chair. Dionysus being still invisible, there was heard the Bacchic music played on a flute. Then it was that the assemblage was filled with admiration of the dancing master. For as soon as Ariadne heard the strain, her action was such that every one might have perceived her joy at the sound; and although she did not go to meet Dionysus, nor even rise, yet it was clear that she kept her composure with difficulty. [4] But when Dionysus caught sight of her, he came dancing toward her and in a most loving manner sat himself on her lap, and putting his arms about her gave her a kiss. Her demeanour was all modesty, and yet she returned his embrace with affection. As the banqueters beheld it, they kept clapping and crying “encore!” [5] Then when Dionysus arose and gave his hand to Ariadne to rise also, there was presented the impersonation of lovers kissing and caressing each other. The onlookers viewed a Dionysus truly handsome, an Ariadne truly fair, not presenting a burlesque but offering genuine kisses with their lips; and they were all raised to a high pitch of enthusiasm as they looked on. [6] For they overheard Dionysus asking her if she loved him, and heard her vowing that she did, so earnestly that not only Dionysus but all the bystanders as well would have taken their oaths in confirmation that the youth and the maid surely felt a mutual affection. For theirs was the appearance not of actors who had been taught their poses but of persons now permitted to satisfy their long- cherished desires. [7] At last, the banqueters, seeing them in each other's embrace and obviously leaving for the bridal couch, those who were unwedded swore that they would take to themselves wives, and those who were already married mounted horse and rode off to their wives that they might enjoy them. As for Socrates and the others who had lingered behind, they went out with Callias to join Lycon and his son in their walk.

THE FIREY DESTINY OF THOSE WHO SOW MUSICAL OR RHETORICAL DISCORD

12.22.13  Lucifer is Venus or ZOE and among the matriarchal "mother of harlots" she-he is EVE or EVAH meaning an Abomination. Lucifer is well documented in the Greek literature.  Christ said that when Lucifer was Cast as Profane (Chalal or Halal the "praise" word) into the Garden of Eden She-He was the "singing and harp-playing prostitute."

The Beginning Mother of Beasts and the End-Time Babylon Mother of Harlots are identical. Paul said that Eve was wholly SEDUCED as a new bride is SEDUCED just before her husband. That is why Cain (from a musical note or mark) was OF that Wicked one.

Eve is mentioned only twice in the New Testament and because Jesus spoke in parables to HIDE the truth from the WISE (sophists=rhetoricians, singers, musicians, actors).  Moses was writing an INVERTED version of Babylon Myths AFTER the nation fell from grace BECAUSE of instrumental idolatry at Mount Sinai.  Therefore, those who mock Paul do not understand that Paul knew all about Eve and scholars know nothing. While not necessarily true, Paul understood that women especially looked to EVE (Zoe, Mary) as THEIR Mediatrix.

The serpents, however, of the magicians-(that is,) the gods of destruction-withstood the power of Moses in Egypt, but the rod of Moses reduced them all to subjection and slew them. This universal serpent is, he says, the wise discourse of Eve. This, he says, is the mystery of Edem, this the river of Edem;
this the mark that was set upon Cain,
that any one who findeth him might not kill him. This, he says, is Cain, [Gen. iv. 15] whose sacrifice [Gen. iv. 5. ] the god of this world did not accept.

Theophilus to Autolycus

This Eve, on account of her having been in the beginning deceived by the serpent, and become the author of sin, the wicked demon, who also is called Satan, who then spoke to her through the serpent, and who works even to this day in those men that are possessed by him, invokes as Eve.58 And he is called "demon" and "dragon," on account of his revolting from God. For at first he was an angel. And concerning his history there is a great deal to be said; wherefore I at present omit the relation of it, for I have also given an account of him in another place.

58 Referring to the bacchanalian orgies in which " Eva " was shouted, and which the Fathers professed to believe was an unintentional invocation of Eve, the authoress of all sin.

The word "abomination" is also key to understanding the context. In Hebrew, the word "to 'evah," (abomination) is almost invariably linked to idolatry. In the passages from which both verses are taken, God tells Moses to tell the people not to follow the idolatrous practices of the people around them, people who sacrificed their children to Molech, or who masturbated into the fire to offer their semen to Molech, for example. Chapter 20 starts off with the same warning.

"To 'evah" also means "something which is ritually unclean."
But also, concerning music, some have fabled that Apollo [Abaddon, Apollyon]  was the inventor, and others say that Orpheus discovered the art of music from the sweet voices of the birds. Their story is shown to be empty and vain, for these inventors lived many years after the flood. And what relates to Noah, who is called by some Deucalion, has been explained by us in the book before mentioned, and which, if you wish it, you are at liberty to read.

Genesis 1 is exactly parallel to John 1: after Israel fell into instrumental idolatry of their Egyptian gods, God abandoned the later Civil-Military-Clergy complex to worship the same "gods" that appear as Abaddon or Apollyon in Revelation.  The LOCUSTS or MUSES are unleashed from "hell" and Abaddon is the Musical Worship leader. This happened exactly 4000 years after Moses defined the same conflict between LIGHT and DARK.  That was launched by the most virulent, hostile attack against the ANTI-instrumental Churches of Christ mounted exactly 100 years after the first brutal attack.  This convinced Churches of Christ that even friendly fellowship meant that their flock would be Purpose Driven by the boast of "Infiltrating and diverting the church homes of widows and honest workers into A Theater for Holy Entertainment."

Armageddon is not a war of the world but a war of words: a polemic war with shock and awe as the meaning of mechanical Organon used by Jubal's family to bring on the first destruction.

Great tribulation flaunting "the holiness of sin" has accompanied the loss of faith at the end of each DAY period.

Matthew 24:21 For then shall be great tribulation,

A million Jews were cast into Tophet (tabret, tambourine) at the first fulfilment. Not one DISCIPLE of Christ was "burned" and the Jews are still looking for their Levites and the tens of thousands of HARPS which according to the Babylonian Prophetic type were "cast alive with their harps along with the king"

The Spirit OF (preposition) Christ defines the Church in the Wilderness and the future REST after the Jew's Covenant with Death and Hell had been annulled with only a tiny remnant of faithful Jews:
Isaiah 14:9 Hell from beneath is moved for thee to meet thee at thy coming:
        it stirreth up the dead for thee, even all the chief ones of the earth;
        it hath raised up from their thrones all the kings of the nations.

Lucifer is Venus or ZOE and among the matriarchal "mother of harlots" she-he is EVE or EVAH meaning an Abomination. Lucifer is well documented in the Greek literature.  Christ said that when Lucifer was Cast as Profane (Chalal or Halal the "praise" word) into the Garden of Eden She-He was the "singing and harp-playing prostitute."

Madison as the result of the "Jubilee" intending to restructure ALL Churches of Christ was attacked by the Purpose Driven Cult and it appears that the godly elect were "raptured."  This is the end of the road for the Vision 20/20s in most of the assaulted churches of Christ.  Before the Jubilee "frog-boiling" process began Madison boasted that they had over 5000 members and lost only "50": These numbers did and may include 300 members in jail.

Matthew 24:26 Wherefore if they shall say unto you,
        Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth:

Matthew 24:27 For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west;

Matthew 24:28 For wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together.
Matthew 24:29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days

Matthew 24:30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven:
        and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn,
        and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
Matthew 24:31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet,
        and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

The Purpose Driven Locusts or MUSES are to COLLECT all of those with the MARK into large Mega-Groups and the GODLY will evaporate as if by magic. Rick Atchleys boasted of 6400 shrank to about 3500 counting both the MOTHER church and the DAUGHTER churches.  They have collected back up to about 4500 by SOUNDING THE TRUMPETS AND THE LOCUSTS-MUSES as Abaddon the Musical Worship Leader.

        and they bowed the knee before him,

Chorus
Shall I move my white foot in the night-long dance, aroused to a frenzy, [865] throwing my head to the dewy air, like a fawn sporting in the green pleasures of the meadow, when it has escaped a fearful chase beyond the watchers [870] over the well-woven nets, and the hunter hastens his dogs [Catamites] on their course with his call, while she, with great exertion and a storm-swift running, rushes along the plain by the river, rejoicing [875] in the solitude apart from men and in the thickets of the shady-foliaged woods.

Mike Cope: A few observations from most discussions about a cappella singing:

First: Most people I know who want to preserve it AREN'T trying to make their case in terms of “it’s God’s way.” Some do.
        One of our Christian college presidents — not the one where I teach! —

        See, for example, this conference being held next summer at Pepperdine.

Of course, it is not given that Mike Cope or any professional theologian or hermeneut (substitutes Hermes as logos to replace Jesus as Logos) should be able to answer two important questions.

First, what is a Qahal, synagogue, Ekklesia, synagogue or Church of Christ (the Rock) in the wilderness.
Second, it is not given that they should be able to understand the meaning of WORSHIP.
There are the people of the WORLD or Kosmos for which Jesus will not pray and will not let read BLACK text on BROWN paper.
There are "pilgrims and sojourners" on the earth: they are OF faith or OF truth.

The idea suggested by proskunoimen and hieron, that the poet is a sort of theos or theios [god or goddess] anēr, is now elaborated with ironical politeness. The images of the gods were anointed, and crowned with garlands, not only on great occasions (cf. Cic. Verr. IV 77), but also at other times, according to Proclus, who remarks on this passage muron autēs (sc. tēs poiētikēs) ...Apropos of the present passage, Dio Chrysostom and other ancient writers cited by Ast refer to the anointing of swallows by Greek women: kai keleuei mala eirōnikōs (so Ast: MSS eirēnikōs) stepsantas auton eriō kai murō katakheantas aphienai par' allous: touto de hai gunaikes epi tōn khelidon ōn poiousi (Dio Chr. It proved to be the will of the immortals [60] to make a noble man, even when dead, a theme for the hymns of goddesses; and even now this brings up a subject for words, and the Muses' chariot rushes forward to shout praises in memory of Nicocles the boxer. Honor him, who won the garland of wild Dorian celery in the Isthmian valley; since [65] he too was once victorious over all that lived around him, battering them with his inescapable hands. He is not dishonored by the offspring of his father's distinguished brother. Therefore let another young man weave for Cleandros a garland of tender myrtle in honor of the pancratium, since the contest of Alcathous and the young men of Epidaurus welcomed him before in his success. A good man may praise him, [70] for he did not restrain his youth, keeping it hidden in his pocket1and ignorant of fine deeds.

Pind. N. 8 [40] Excellence grows among skillful and just men up to the liquid air, as a tree shoots up fed by fresh dew. The uses of friends are of all kinds; those in times of toil are the highest, yet delight also seeks to set a trustworthy pledge before the eyes. Megas, to bring your soul back to life again [45] is not possible for me. Empty hopes end in vain; but it is easy to set up, for your fatherland and for the Chariads, a monument of the Muses in honor of the twice illustrious feet of two men. I rejoice in letting fly a boast suitable to such a deed; and with incantations a man [50] makes hardship painless. Truly, the song of victory existed long ago, even before the quarrel arose between Adrastus and the race of Cadmus.

THE END OF THE ROAD FOR MUSICAL DISCORDERS WITH OR WITHOUT MACHINES

Revelation 18:21 And a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone, and cast it into the sea, saying, Thus with violence shall that great city Babylon be thrown down, and shall be found no more at all.
Revelation 18:22 And the voice of harpers, and musicians [Muses], and of pipers, and trumpeters, shall be heard no more at all in thee; and no craftsman, of whatsoever craft he be, shall be found any more in thee; and the sound of a millstone shall be heard no more at all in thee;
A craftsman is any person trained as a religious professional: they THINK that God needs help
Revelation 18:23 And the light of a candle shall shine no more at all in thee; and the voice of the bridegroom and of the bride shall be heard no more at all in thee: for thy merchants were the great men of the earth; for by thy sorceries were all nations deceived.
Revelation 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
Revelation 18:24 And in her was found the blood of prophets, and of saints, and of all that were slain upon the earth.

Darryl Tippens-- Pilgrim Heart: The Way of Jesus in Everyday Life

"One Sunday in April, 1984, Lamott attended the church again. She stayed for the sermon that day, which she found unimpressive, but the music was mesmerizing: The last song was so deep and raw and pure that I could not escape. It was as if the people were singing in between the notes, weeping and joyful at the same time, and I felt like their voices or something was rocking me in its bosom, holding me like a scared kid, and I opened up to that feeling— and it washed over me."

All religious music terms and names of instrument point directly to charming, sorcery or mesmerizing.  Pepperdine seeks to make "ACappella" a new skill by which they may blaspheme by claiming to be able to lead you into the presence of God.

Netenyhu attended an Ecole Ohr Torah.  A synagogue was and is A School of the Word of God.  Nothing you do outside of the School of Christ (a Restoration goal) has any salvation power.  Amos and Isaiah has the Spirit OF Christ warning that the clergy caused the people to HUNGER AND THIRST FOR THE WORLD and even wandering to Pepperdine they will not find it.

A Cappella Worship Teams with performance singing WITHOUT instruments has nothing to do with the absolute definition of the Qahal, Synagogue or Church as A School of the Word.

Pepperdine 2013 Annual Bible Lectures Mike Cope features Rick Atchley

Mike Cope Women Worship Leaders

  1. Why not grasp that Jesus said that doctors of the Law take away the Key to Knowledge
  2. He called the Scribes and Pharisees (writers and rhetoricians), hypocrites.  In Isaiah 6 and especially Ezekiel 33 the Spirit OF Christ named entertainment preachers, singers and instrument players. This was the MARK of those who have no intention of being Disciples through the Word.
  3. In the prophets Christ warns about "the lying pen of the Scribes."  Most on the doctoral level have had to subscribe to the pattern that when God abandoned Israel to the worship of the starry host "a" spirit told them that God commanded THEM to promote Levites as Soothsayers or Sorcerers with instruments to ward off any godly person,.

Mike Cope and ACapella Music  he mocks the evil "tribalists" who still teach against instruments. Not aware that the command is to use "that which is written for our learning" and nothing written was metrical and could not and was not sung tunefully until after the Reformation. There is not a command, example, remote inference of God's godly people collecting for congregational singing with or without instruments.
The scholars missed the Qahal, synagogue or Church of Christ in the wilderness which defined:

Inclusive of Rest, Reading and Rehearsing the Word
Exclusive of vocal or instrumental rejoicing including slick preaching.

The Jacob-Cursed tribe of Levi was assigned to the worship of the starry host which Mike etal use as a "spirit assigned" pattern.

Martin Luther and all true Bible Students understands what is EXCLUDED in Romans 14 so that the Synagogue can take place in Romans 15.

At that time there were many Jews living in all countries, and especially were they found in Rome, as we learn from the seventeenth and eighteenth chapters of the Acts of the Apostles. Having properly inculcated the doctrines of faith and of good works all through the epistle, the apostle in conclusion introduces several exhortations to the Romans to preserve harmony in faith and in good works, removing what might be productive of discord and subversive to unity of the Spirit. There are two difficulties which today as in all times strongly militate against the unity of the Spirit, against faith and good works. They must here be carefully noted and described.

They are good, pious, common people, willingly doing better when they have the knowledge or power. They are not tenacious of their opinions; the trouble lies altogether in weakness of conscience and lack of faith. They are unable to extricate themselves from prevailing doctrines and customs.

The other class are obstinate. Not satisfied to enjoy liberty of conduct for themselves, they must enforce it upon others, constraining them to their own practices.

They claim that because certain liberty is permissible, it must be enjoined.
They will not listen to real truth in the matter of Christian liberty, but strive against it.

They are to blame for the weakness of the [31] first class. For their doctrine disregards the weak consciences and misleads them into the belief that certain conduct is essential.

This domineering class delight in bringing simple consciences into subjection to their demands. Paul does not here refer to that manner of people; no, but he elsewhere teaches us to faithfully oppose them and always do the opposite. Titus 1.

For instance, the distracted world attempts to serve God by setting apart houses, churches, cloisters;
        vestures, gold-trimmed, silk and [50] every other kind;
        silver vessels and images; bells and organs, candles and lamps;
        the money for which expense should have been appropriated to the poor
        if the object was to make an offering to God.

Further, it keeps up a muttering and wailing in the churches day and night.
But true praise and honor of God, a service that cannot be confined to place or person,
is quietly ignored the world over.

The pretenses of priests and monks about their system of exercises
being service to the Lord, are false and delusive.

53. Service to God is praise of him. It must be free and voluntary, at table, in the chamber, cellar, garret, in house or field, in all places, with all persons, at all times.
        Whosoever
teaches otherwise is no less guilty of falsehood than the Pope and the devil himself.

HOW CAN PSEUDO-SCHOLARS NOT BLUSH WHEN THEY CLAIM THAT THE ANTI-INSTRUMENT CHURCH OF CHRIST OUTLAWED INSTRUMENTS JUST BECAUSE THEY WERE EVIL.

If you believe that God did not condemn musical instruments used "to make the lambs dumb before the slaughter then a Phd wasn't built upon the foundation of the Word of God.

The Spirit OF (preposition) Christ defined Lucifer being "cast as profane" (that halal or chalal word) out of heaven.  He/she/it came into the garden of Eden as a singing and harp playing prostitute.

Jubal is said to have taught people to HANDLE musical instruments: that means without authority and an euphemism for "handling in a sexual sense." The object was to "steal your own church house" in a modern system.

The Cainites (from a musical note and OF that wicked one) survived the flood and Clement shows:

How musical idolatry was restored after the flood:

"Now therefore, since you do not yet understand how great darkness of ignorance surrounds you, meantime I wish to explain to you whence the worship of idols began in this world. And by idols, I mean those lifeless images which you worship, whether made of wood, or earthenware, or stone, or brass, or any other metals: of these the beginning was in this wise.

Certain angels, having left the course of their proper order, began to favour the vices of men, [Comp. Homily VIII. 13.-R.] and in some measure to lend unworthy aid to their lust,
in order that by these means they might indulge their own pleasures the more;
and then, that they might not seem to be inclined of their own accord to unworthy services,

taught men that demons could, by certain arts-that is, by magical invocations-be made to obey men;
and so, as from a furnace and workshop of wickedness [lectureships?], they filled the whole world with the smoke of impiety, the light of piety being withdrawn.
"But when all these things were done, men turned again to impiety;  and on this account a law was given by God to instruct them in the manner of living.
But in process of time, the worship of God and righteousness were corrupted by the unbelieving and the wicked, as we shall show more fully by and by.  Moreover, perverse and erratic religions were introduced, to which the greater part of men gave themselves up
by occasion of holidays and solemnities, instituting drinkings and banquets,
following pipes, and flutes, and harps, and diverse kinds of musical instruments, and indulging themselves in all kinds of drunkenness and luxury.

Hence every kind of error took rise; hence they invented groves and altars, fillets and victims, and after drunkenness they were agitated as if with mad emotions.

By this means power was given to the demons to enter into minds of this sort, so that they seemed to lead insane dances and to rave like Bacchanalians; hence were invented the gnashing of teeth, and bellowing from the depth of their bowels; hence a terrible countenance and a fierce aspect in men, so that he whom drunkenness had subverted and a demon had instigated, was believed by the deceived and the erring to be filled with the Deity.

Mike Cope, Rick Atchley and a few who are following this prophetic type may not be able to confess this, but, in order to justify imposing instruments and female (effeminate) roles over the Head of Jesus Christ, they have to debunk ALL of the Bible and Recorded History. One wonders why there is such a huge attack on the Word at just this right time?  Jesus said that Doctors of the Law "take away the key to knowledge."  The Spirit of Christ warned about the Lying Pen of The Scribes. Jesus called the Scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites. The Spirit of Christ in Isaiah and Ezekiel 33 identified slick speakers, singers and instrument players. How could a true disciple miss that one?

This has nothing to do with superior ROLES because there are NO ROLES in the sense of Religious Observations.
Lk 17:20 And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation:

Christ in the wilderness defined the Church as a set-time-place to READ the Word of God and discuss it: even the Lord's Supper is a teaching or educating event.  Anything performed a religious observation or ritual is a sign of a DEAD BODY: that's when the ministry team will pick your bones and pick the purse of the widows.Latin:

I am not sure how one could get out of Card Class and use the concept of MUSICAL WORSHIP.  There is no command, example or remote inference of the godly people assembling for congregational singing with or without instruments.  On the contrary the Jacob-Cursed Levites were commanded to "stand in ranks" and make a great noise: this was to warn even a Levite not on rare duty that if he came near any holy thing or into any holy place is "brethren" were commanded to execute him.

No one among the scholars can know that God turned the
Levi tribe over to worship the starry host: they missed Acts 7. God did not command the the king, kingdom, priests, temple, animal sacrifices or the Levites to make certain as a Prophetic Type showing that God terminates anyone who brings instruments into the holy place of Church Architecture when Christ is the SOLE Teacher when the elders (only) teach that which has been taught.

Mike Cope: A few observations from most discussions about a cappella singing:

First: Most people I know who want to preserve it aren’t trying to make their case in terms of “it’s God’s way.” Some do.
        One of our Christian college presidents — not the one where I teach! —
        once told me that he thought the use of instrumental music would send someone to hell. [Christ said that in Isaiah 30   Revelation 19:20]
        (Just when you thought no one really, really, really believed that . . . .
“Yes, I know you served the poor, you lived an exemplary life of compassion, justice, and worship — but you used a piano in worship . . . .”)
        Most are talking about the strengths of the tradition — a tradition that is preserved by several tribes.
        See, for example, this conference being held next summer at Pepperdine.

Aristophanes Knights This man of leather knows his old master thoroughly; he plays the fawning cur, flatters, cajoles, wheedles, and dupes him at will with little scraps of leavings, which he allows him to get. [50] “Dear Demos,” he will say, “try a single case and you will have done enough; then take your bath, eat, swallow and devour; here are three obols.” Then the Paphlagonian filches from one of us what we have prepared and makes a present of it to our old man. The other day I [55] had just kneaded a Spartan cake at Pylos, the cunning rogue came behind my back, sneaked it and offered the cake, which was my invention, in his own name. He keeps us at a distance and suffers none but himself to wait upon the master; [60] when Demos is dining, he keeps close to his side with a thong in his hand and puts the orators to flight. He keeps singing oracles to him, so that the old man now thinks of nothing but the Sibyl. Then, when he sees him thoroughly obfuscated, he uses all his cunning and piles up lies and calumnies against the household;

The Church of Christ (the Rock) in the wilderness absolutely outlawed the alarm or triumph-over witchery of 'vocal or instrumental rejoicing including elevated forms of speech." Both Jew and Gentile were "wise unto salvation" because even in Greek Society the synagogue was the alternative to pagan musical "worship."

Acts 15:21 For Moses of old time
        hath in every city
        them that preach him,
        being read in the synagogues every sabbath day.
This was still the unique pattern when Paul warned about the failure to hear God at Mount Sinai:
2Corinthians 3:13 And not as Moses, which put a vail over his face,
        that the children of Israel could not stedfastly look to the end of that which is abolished:
2Corinthians 3:14 But their minds were blinded:
        for until this day remaineth the same vail untaken
        away in the reading of the old testament; which vail is done away in Christ.
2Corinthians 3:15 But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the vail is upon their heart.
2Corinthians 3:16 Nevertheless when it shall turn [convert, be baptized] to the Lord, the vail shall be taken away.
2Corinthians 3:17 Now the Lord IS that Spirit:
        and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.
2Corinthians 3:18 But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord,
        are changed into the same image from glory to glory,
        even as by the Spirit of the Lord.
2Peter 1:19 We have also a more sure word of prophecy;
        whereunto ye do well that ye take heed,
        as unto a light that shineth in a dark place,
        until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:

The church is built upon (educated) only upon the Apostles and Prophets with Jesus Christ being the corner Stone. The prophets (only) spoke by the Spirit OF Christ and Jesus of Nazareth was made both Lord and Christ to make these prophecies more certain.  Therefore,

2Peter 1:20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.
2Peter 1:21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man:
        but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.  [The Spirit OF Christ 1 Peter 1:11; Revelation 19:10)
Private interpretations means further expounding in song or sermon beyond that which is written.

Mike Cope: Second: Why did we have to have a central focus of identity (a cappella music) that is so difficult to spell? Not a capella . . . or a cappela . . . but a cappella.

Churches of Christ never invented the word now spelled ACappella. None of the churches similar to the Churches of Christ (always used that name) used "machines for doing hard work" since the time of Christ. If people refuse to BEGIN doing what they  had never done (Methodists, Baptists, Presbyterians) how is it that Mike can say such a thing.  It was the Disciples of Christ / Christian Churches which made MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS the defining focus of their instrumental sect?

ACappella speaks of the Pope's a capella Castrated Musical worship team singing "organum" or a legalistic end run around the No Machines in the only official Mass in the Sistine Chapel.  Chapel is Caper or the GOAT cape. ACappella is a "worship team singing ORGANUM for the audience."

Most churches such as the Disciples of Christ, Baptists etal added instrument before the year 1900: that is too late to be used to justify the Identity, Heritage RACA words.  Churches of Christ "speak that which is written for our learning" and understands that you don't play instruments when Jesus comes to speak ONLY when the elders speak that which has been taught.

IF YOU CANNOT UNDERSTAND THE WITCHCRAFT-WARFARE WARNING OF PAUL IT PROBABLY DOESN'T MATTER WHETHER YOU USE MACHINES FOR DOING HARD WORK OR NOT.

1Corinthians 13:1 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels,
        and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.

P. Ovidius Naso, The Epistles of Ovid Ov. Met. 3.690

And now (what you will scarcely believe) my inclinations carry me after new and unaccustomed delights. I long to assault with you the savage breed; already the Delian goddess, distinguished by the crooked bow, presides in my thoughts; your judgement in this determines also mine. I am impatient to range the woods, to pursue the stage into the toils, and cheer the nimble hounds along the rocky cliffs; or lance the trembling dart with a vigorous arm, and stretch my wearied limbs on a grassy bank.

Oft I am pleased to drive the nimble chariot involved in dust, and guide the panting steeds with steady rein. Now wild, I rave as a Bacchanal when full of the inspiring god,

or like those who on the Idean hill urge with redoubled strokes the sounding brass; yea more wild than those whom the Dryads half divine, and horned Satyrs, strike with terror and amazement.

Gaius Valerius Catullus, Carmina (ed. Leonard C. Smithers) 64

But on another part [of the tapestry] swift hastened the flushed Iacchus with his train of Satyrs [Beast in Revelation as A New Style of music or drama] and Nisa-begot Sileni, seeking you, Ariadne, and aflame with love for you. ... These scattered all around, an inspired band, rushed madly with mind all distraught, ranting "Euhoe," with tossing of heads "Euhoe." Some with womanish hands shook thyrsi with wreath-covered points; some tossed limbs of a rended steer; some girded themselves with writhed snakes; some enacted obscure orgies with deep chests, orgies of which the profane vainly crave a hearing;

others beat the tambours with outstretched palms, or from the burnished brass provoked shrill tinklings, blew raucous-sounding blasts from many horns, and the barbarous pipe droned forth horrible song. With luxury of such figures was the coverlet adorned, enwrapping the bed with its mantling embrace.

Luke 7:24 And when the messengers of John were departed, he began to speak unto the people concerning John, What went ye out into the wilderness for to see? A reed shaken with the wind?
What then did you go out to see? A man clothed effeminately (‘softly’ / ‘weakly’)?  Look, those weakness wearers are in the houses of kings."  Thus, neither the genitive is introduced (as in "wearers of weakness" or "wearers of soft clothes") nor is the extra word, iJmavtion, himation, clothing / clothes, introduced into the text, as with those that follow the KJV or NRSV rendering.

Strike up the song! The Muse [dirty prostitutes] welds together gold and white ivory with coral, the lily she has stolen from beneath the ocean's dew. [80] But in remembrance of Zeus and in honor of Nemea, whirl a far-famed strain of song, softly.

This is not speaking as in the command to SPEAK one to another to teach and comfort. Sounding brass and tinkling cymbals here are identifying marks of people who have NO LOVE. Even if they COULD speak all of the languages in the world there would be no love. The command is to SPEAK or LOGOS the Word of Christ which is the opposite of rhetoric, singing or playing instruments. Speaking in the tongues of angels was IN FACT making music in tongues.  Lifeless Instruments are Carnal Weapons.

Aristoph. Birds 724

If you recognize us as gods, we shall be your divining Muses, through us you will know the winds and the seasons, summer, [725] winter, and the temperate months. We shall not withdraw ourselves to the highest clouds like Zeus, but shall be among you and shall give to you [730] and to your children and the children of your children, health and wealth, long life, peace, youth, laughter, songs and feasts; in short, you will all be so well off, [735] that you will be weary and cloyed with enjoyment.

The trumpet was for sending signals: if someone makes music it might get you killed:

Xen. Cav. 3.11
In the sham fight when the regiments pursue and fly from one another at the gallop in two squadrons of five regiments, each side led by its commander, the regiments should ride through one another. How formidable they will look when they charge front to front; how imposing when, after sweeping across the Hippodrome, they stand facing one another again; how splendid, when the trumpet sounds and they charge once more at a quicker pace!

[
12] After the halt, the trumpet should sound once more, and they should charge yet a third time at top speed; and when they have crossed, they should all range themselves in battle line preparatory to being dismissed, and ride up to the Council, just as you are accustomed to do.

DO YOU REALLY NEED A DIRECT COMMAND TO REFRAIN FROM THIS WITCHCRAFT?

Mike Cope: Third: Most people I know who express an interest in having instrumental music
        are not wanting to lose the a cappella tradition.
        It’s not an either/or. I seriously doubt that the Richland Hills Church
        will give up their a cappella heritage completely.

Heritage or tradition are RACA Words. Why would it be a vile disease one caught from their godly parents when no one SANG as an act of worship until the year 373 and no one sang congregationally with organ accompaniment until well after the beginning of the Reformation. As dupes of the NACC the pseudo-scholars deliberately CEASED teaching anything for about one decade: the Jubilee outbreak intended to go around the adults.

Rick Atchley follows the lead and handling of an agent of the NACC. He was supplied with the LIST of passages from the Bible which MENTIONS an instrument.
This list IGNORES the context which MOST OFTEN comes from what the Spirit OF Christ calls "the Lying Pen of the Scribes" and Paul called "Jewish Fables."

GOD DID NOT COMMAND THE KING, KINGDOM, TEMPLE, ANIMAL SACRIFICES OR THE LEVITES SOOTHSAYING WITH INSTRUMENTS.
Rick Atchley says a spirit told him that GOD COMMANDED INSTRUMENTAL PRAISE and we must NOT disobey.
Christ in Jeremiah 23 calls that Blasphemy of the Spirit OF Christ

Jer. 8:7 Yea, the stork in the heaven knoweth her appointed times; and the turtle and the crane and the swallow observe the time of their coming; but my people know not the judgment of the LORD.

Jer. 8:8 How do ye say, We are wise, and the law of the LORD is WITH US? LO, CERTAINLY IN VAIN MADE HE IT; THE PEN OF THE SCRIBES IS in vain.

8267. sheqer, sheh΄-ker; from 8266; an untruth; by implication, a sham (often adverbial):—without a cause, deceit(-ful), false(-hood, -ly), feignedly, liar, + lie, lying, vain (thing), wrongfully.

Even the stork in the heavens knows her times; and the turtledove, swallow, and crane keep the time of their coming; but my people know not the ordinance of the LORD."How can you say, 'We are wise, and the law of the LORD is with us'? But, behold, the false pen of the scribes has made it into a lie. The wise men shall be put to shame, they shall be dismayed and taken; lo, THEY HAVE REJECTED THE WORD OF THE LORD, and what wisdom is in them? Jeremiah 8:8-9 RSV

Jer. 8:9 The wise MEN ARE ASHAMED, THEY ARE DISMAYED AND TAKEN: LO, THEY HAVE REJECTED THE WORD OF THE LORD; and what wisdom is in them?

Jer. 8:10 Therefore will I give their wives unto others, and their fields to them that shall inherit them: for every one from the least even unto the greatest is given to covetousness, from the prophet even unto the priest every one dealeth falsely.

Cyril of Alexandria, Commentary on John,

That the Pharisees puffed up unto strange boasting,
        were wont to pretend that the Divine Word was with them and in them,
        and therefore foolishly affirmed that they had advanced to marvellous wisdom,
        the Spirit Itself will testify,
        since Christ says by the Prophet Jeremiah unto them,
                How do ye say, WE are wise, and the word of the Lord is with us?
                For nought to the scribes became their lying pen;
                the wise
men were ashamed, were dismayed and taken;
                what wisdom
is in them? because they rejected the word of the Lord.

For how are they not taken
rejecting the Living and Hypostatic Word of God, receiving not the faith to Him-ward,
        but dishonouring the Impress of God the Father, and refusing to behold His most true Form (so to say)
        through His God-befitting Authority and Power?

Not even civil society tolerated what "worship" centers love:
Plat. Laws 936c There shall be no beggar in our State; and if anyone attempts to beg, and to collect a livelihood by ceaseless [making Poieo meter, hymns] prayers, the market-stewards shall expel him from the market, and the Board of city-stewards from the city, and from any other district he shall be driven across the border by the country-stewards, to the end that the land may be wholly purged of such a creature. If a slave, male or female, do any injury to another man's goods,

Mike Cope, Rick Atchley etal have MADE IT MORE CERTAIN

"If the father dances, the daughter will play the Tamboourine."

Rick Atchley: The era of the progressive Church of Christ is over.

The generation of Boomers has enough denominational loyalty that they’re going to find the least legalistic
Well, we discipled the children of those progressive churches
        for a whole generation to grow past us Boomers.
        They never heard the sermons we heard.
        They never heard the rationale for a cappella music.

We sent them to youth rallies and Church of Christ events
        with some of the finest Christian bands in the world.

        We discipled our children to leave our Movement!

Mike Cope:  Fourth: As I said in the comments yesterday,
        just because something is a matter of opinion
        doesn’t mean it isn’t important how a church discusses and processes the issue.

It cannot be just bad scholarship to say that NOT using "machines for doing hard work" in the School of Christ (Christ, Jesus, Paul, History, the Campbells) is just an opinion.   Rick Atchley and Mike built upon the foundation of the Jacob-cursed Levites but a Church of Christ is built on the Prophets and Apostles.

Before the "worship teams and deaconesses Richland Hills boasted of 6400 members]. That "grew" to about 4500 before Rick Atchley had a spirit tell him to impose Musical Instrument.  That grew to about 3500 and is just now collecting in 3 CAMPUS SITES "Numbers No Longer Posted."

Eur. Ba. 81 Chorus
Blessed is he who, being fortunate and knowing the rites of the gods, keeps his life pure and [75] has his soul initiated into the Bacchic revels, dancing in inspired frenzy over the mountains with holy purifications, and who, revering the mysteries of great mother Kybele, [80] brandishing the thyrsos, garlanded with ivy, serves Dionysus.

Go, Bacchae, go, Bacchae, escorting the god Bromius, child of a god, [85] from the Phrygian mountains to the broad streets of Hellas—Bromius,

Pan is the symbol of the universe, the personification of nature, representative of all the Gods. His parentage was Hermes or Zeus. His colour was royal purple. He was a dark wine red, sometimes called moon blood. Knots were used to bind up the spirit and immobilise sexual function to close up throats and other parts, untied during childbirth to make free for delivery. Pan was equivalent to the Egyptian Aman Ra, Bacchus the Roman God name for Dionysus, Adonis and Dionysus whose emblem was the thyrsus - a phallic sceptre tipped with a pine cone.

A magickal invocation of Pan:

I am she who e'er the earth was formed rose from the sea
O first begotten love come unto me
And let the worlds be formed of me and thee

Giver of vine and wine and ecstasy,
God of the garden, shepherd of the lea -
Bringer of fear who maketh men to flee,
I am thy priestess answer unto me!

Although I receive thy gifts thou bringest me
Life and more life in fullest ecstasy.
I am the moon the moon that draweth thee.
I am the waiting earth that needeth thee.
Come unto me great Pan, come unto me!

IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO READ THE WORD AND THINK THAT INSTRUMENTS ARE OPTIONAL WHEN JESUS COMES TO TEACH AND GIVE US REST. We are forced to conclude that people are the enemy of Christ and HIS unique Word.

Gen. 6:5 And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth,
        and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.

Gen. 8:21 And the LORD smelled a sweet savour; and the LORD said in his heart, I

        for the imagination of man’s heart is evil from his youth;

Since Christ forbids private interpretation which means further expounding, if someone wanted to REVISE the church to fit the pattern in their own minds, Paul has cut you off by DIRECT COMMANDS-- if you can read the text.

Because Church is a School of "that which is written." Nothing can change the  ONE PIECE PATTERN because God knew that none of us are smart enough to modernize the church by COMMANDING what it FORBIDS..

Romans 14:19 Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another.

Romans 14 Doubtful Disputations by Livy

8.  The making of inquisition concerning clandestine meetings was decreed to both the consuls. A Greek of mean condition came, first, into Etruria, not with one of the many trades which his nation, of all others the most skillful in the cultivation of the mind and body,
         has introduced among us,
         but
a low operator in sacrifices, and a soothsayer;

nor was he one who, by open religious rites,
and by publicly professing his calling and teaching,
imbued the minds of his followers with terror,

but a priest of secret and nocturnal rites.
These mysterious rites were, at first, imparted to a few,
but afterwards communicated to great numbers, both men and women
.

To their religious performances were added the pleasures of wine and feasting, to allure a greater number of proselytes.

When wine
, lascivious discourse, night, and the intercourse of the sexes had extinguished every sentiment of modesty, then debaucheries of every kind began to be practiced, as every person found at hand that sort of enjoyment to which he was disposed by the passion predominant in his nature.

Nor were they confined to one species of vice---the promiscuous intercourse of free-born men and women;

but from this store-house of villainy proceeded false witnesses,
counterfeit seals (marks)
, false evidences, and pretended discoveries.

From the same place, too, proceeded poison and secret murders, so that in some cases, not even the bodies could be found for burial. [Judas was a siccari or assassin and his bag carried mouthpieces for wind instruments]

Many of their audacious deeds were brought about by treachery, but most of them by force; it served to conceal the violence, that, on account of the loud shouting, and the noise of drums and cymbals, none of the cries uttered by the persons suffering violence or murder could be heard abroad.

9. The infection of this mischief, like that from the contagion of disease, spread from Etruria to Rome; where, the size of the city affording greater room for such evils, and more means of concealment, cloaked it at first; but information of it was at length brought to the consul, Postumius, principally in the following manner.

Publius Aebutius, whose father had held equestrian rank in the army, was left an orphan, and his guardians dying, he was educated under the eye of his mother Duronia, and his stepfather Titus Sempronius Rutilus. Duronia was entirely devoted to her husband; and Sempronius, having managed the guardianship in such a manner that he could not give an account of the property,

wished that his ward should be either made away with,
or bound to compliance with his will by some strong tie.
The Bacchanalian rites
were the only way to effect the ruin of the youth.

Mike Cope:  That’s what Paul is doing in 1 Corinthians 8-10. The topic is food sacrificed to idols: eat it or don’t eat it? Well, it’s a matter of indifference. Sure, go ahead and eat it. But that’s not all Paul has to say about it. For the way they approach the seemingly insignificant topic (at least insignificant from our historical distance) says a lot about how they are living out the gospel in community.

No: Paul is warning about the demon worship or musical idolatry at Mount Sinai.

Paul quotes from Exodus 32: the people rose up in MUSICAL IDOLATRY and God removed His Covenant of Grace.

Professor Robert Briffault's introductory words to his article titled "Sex in Religion" published in the book "Sex in Civilization" (Garden City Publishing Co.).

"The elaborate mystic theology of Egypt was replete with sexual symbolism; hierodular [sacred] prostitution, ritual bestiality were among the observances of its cult. The religions of Babylonia, of Asia Minor, of the far-flung Semitic colonies, were notorious for the licentiousness of their rites: their priestesses were sacred prostitutes and prostitution was incumbent upon every woman.

To this common description of early religious beliefs, we have the incident of Aaron bringing out the bull for the Israelites to worship when Moses remained longer on Mount Sinai than the people thought. The people were getting edgy so Aaron made a festivity for them by fashioning the golden calf and told them to worship the calf in a sexual manner (Exodus 32:25-35). God was angry with Aaron and the people for this. But the people thought that by their sexual actions they were actually worshipping God in a proper way. Their worship was to "Baal-Peor" (Hebrew: "Lord of the Opening," that is, "Lord of the Vagina") (see Psalm 106:28,29 for this identification). The rebellious Israelites were making images (and setting up pillars) in honor of this pagan deity that demanded gross sexual actions as a part of the "nature rituals" by the worshippers. This was nothing strange to the Israelites because most Gentile religious activities involved a measure of sexual activity as a part of their liturgies and rituals.

"The triumphal hymn of Moses had unquestionably a religious character about it; but the employment of music in religious services, though idolatrous, is more distinctly marked in the festivities which attended the erection of the golden calf." (Smith's Bible Dictionary, Music, p. 589).

"In the New Testament there is nowhere any emphasis laid on the musical form of the hymns; and in particular none on instrumental accompaniment whereas this is significantly paganism." (Delling, Gerhard, Worship in the New Testament, trans. Percy Scott Phil. Westminster press, 1962, p. 86).

"They sat down to eat and drink and rose up to play. They practiced rites in which they made themselves naked, perhaps similar to those which were carried out by naked Babylonian priests." (Woodrow, p. 158).

1Corinthians 10:1 Moreover, brethren,
         I would not that ye should be ignorant,
        how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea;
1Corinthians 10:2 And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea;
1Corinthians 10:3 And did all eat the same spiritual meat;
1Corinthians 10:4 And did all drink the same spiritual drink:
        for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them:
        and that Rock was Christ.
1Corinthians 10:5 But with many of them God was not well pleased:
        for they were overthrown in the wilderness.
1Corinthians 10:6 Now these things were our examples,

God Gave the The Book of The Covenant of Grace Christ gave to Abraham.

Acts 7:38 This is he, that was in the church in the wilderness with the angel which spake to him in the mount Sina, and with our fathers: who received the lively oracles to give unto us:
The fleshly Israelites (natural branches) rose up in musical idolatry to specificially violatethe Covenant they claimed they would obey.
Acts 7:39 To whom our fathers would not obey, but thrust him from them,
         and in their hearts turned back again into Egypt,
Acts 7:40 Saying unto Aaron, Make us gods to go before us: for as for this Moses,
        which brought us out of the land of Egypt, we wot not what is become of him.
Acts 7:41 And they made a calf in those days, and offered sacrifice unto the idol,
        and rejoiced [musically] in the works of their own hands.
God abrogated the Covenant to all of the nations and sentenced them to return to the Pre Christian Covenant with Abraham in Assytia and Babylon.
Acts 7:42 Then God turned, and gave them up to worship the host of heaven; as it is written in the book of the prophets, O ye house of Israel, have ye offered to me slain beasts and sacrifices by the space of forty years in the wilderness?
Acts 7:43 Yea, ye took up the tabernacle of Moloch, and the star of your god Remphan, figures which ye made to worship them: and I will carry you away beyond Babylon.
Deut 32[17] They sacrificed to demons, [which were] no God,
        To gods that they didn't know,
        To new [gods] that came up of late, Which your fathers didn't dread.
Deut. 32:18 Of the Rock that begat thee thou art unmindful,
        and hast forgotten God that formed thee.
Deut. 32:19 And when the LORD saw it, he abhorred them,
        because of the provoking of his sons, and of his daughters.

Mike Cope:  Fifth: The next generation has Christian music on their ipods. They go to Christian concerts.
        Rarely do they listen to a cappella radio stations.
        And they won’t buy the old arguments (from the few who are still making them).
        In many cases, it isn’t that they haven’t HEARD the arguments;
        it’s that they see how vacuous those arguments are.

See Rick Atchley using the list from the NACC all of which in context calls  those who impose instruments blasphemers having been "abandoned to the worship of the starry host."  None of this pack knows the story line of the Old Testament. Mike doesn't know that God has sent strong delusions.

Music is highly addictive and destructive of the Rational or Spiritual hemisphere.

Jesus weeps: Could you not tarry with me for one hour?  Why would people think that they should supply the same kind of rock music when the preacher gets paid for preaching the Word?  Isn't that a deliberate destruction of the young minds.  Music hurts.

Mike Cope: Sixth: Those who yesterday pointed out that we should not obsess on this are right.
        We must discuss it in Christian ways —
        but we must not let such discussions detour us from joining God in his work in this world.

Don't be fooled: no one DISCUSSES IT: everyone imposes it and dares anyone to object.

See Rick Atchley and Christ Seidmen on Instrumental Delusions

Rick Atchley: The era of the progressive Church of Christ is over.

Back in the 80’s you could go to any major city, especially in the South, and you could find a progressive Church of Christ — and if they would preach grace, and if they would put words on a screen, and if they would let divorced people place membership, they would grow.

Mike Cope: (That’s what I love about RH. This is a church that is reaching out all over Tarrant County and the world.

When our church discussed the ministry of women,
        some on the outside thought that had become our main topic.
        Hardly. It was almost a sidebar
        as we were making serious transitions to PARTICIPATE WITH GOD
        in what he was already doing in our neighborhood.)

No one thought that it was the MAIN TOPIC.  As Mike says "we were making a serious transition" but it was not to participate with God. Discussion with a hidden agenda is NOT the way to be a minimal disciple.  Mike Cope and the theologians can call the Spirit of Christ a liar at their own peril. If people are not willing to perform the work they signed up for minimal ethics would ask them to please leave quietly.

First: pray that everyone be QUIET and PEACEABLE.

"Dionysus is the wine-god, and thus should be a pleasant fellow, a benefactor. But wine has both positive and negative aspects. It makes people drunk, causes them to behave in strange ways. The Greeks were well aware of the dual natures of wine, mirrored by the dual nature of its god.... He betrays a dual nature: being bright, joyous, and vital for life,

while also having a side that is dark, mysterious and deadly.

"The adored wife of the fallen Hector, is taken as a concubine by the authentes, who can command her domestic and sexual services. The word also occurs in a homosexual sense in a speech by Theseus, king of Athens, where love of young boys was considered a virtue rather than a vice." (Charles Trombly, Who Said Women Can't Teach, p. 174)

"dionysus's worship is thus established by the simple means of killing the opposition. It has been suggested that every tragic hero who suffers and dies on stage at the Dionysia, the great dramatic festival at Athens (of the South?), is in fact dionysus himself, being killed."

But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority (authenteo) over the man, but to be in silence.1Ti.2:12

All "non-sedentary" or silent participation by women exercises the authority condemned by Paul. This sexual authority with the Catholic A Cappella or castrated "musical worship" solved the problem of a male priesthood but with a homosexual, feminine style of worship called "MUSIC."

Mike Cope: Seventh: Just got to say it. The a cappella tradition is nothing to be ashamed of.
        The only thing to be ashamed of is the exclusivism and judgmentalism with which many defended it.

Churches of Christ engage in Congregational Singing: that is NOT a cappella which speaks of a castrated opry singer imported as a worship team for the Pope who knew that he could not use instruments in the Sistine.

No one has ever been EXCLUDED from the Historic Church of Christ which has never used instruments: "machines for doing hard work." Why would someone twist the fact?

Men like Rick Atchley KNEW that he would deliberately EXCLUDE up to half of the OWNERS when he imposed instruments with a high hand.

Evil men who IMPOSE instruments deliberatley sowing discord pass JUDGMENT and EXECUTE the innocent.

The FINE imposed and flaunted before unbelievers was to force the people to SUPPORT those "ministers" not actively involved in "teaching that which has been taught." YOU didn't get to present you defense.

Jūdĭco , I.  o examine judicially, to judge, be a judge, pass judgment, decide, To adjudge, make over to a person, award a fine.

Churches which lie about the Bible and church history in order to IMPOSE "musical worship teams" cannot grasp that they have set them up as an OFFERING or Anathema and they cannot be redeemed and must be borned.  Judgment against the Word of Christ in the Prophets and Apostles thinks that it has the ability to improve on God: that was the sin at Mount Sinai.

anatithenai: “to set up,” or “to dedicate”), in the Old Testament, a creature or object set apart for sacrificial offering. Its return to profane use was strictly banned, and such objects, destined for destruction, thus became effectively accursed as well as consecrated. Old Testament descriptions of religious wars call both the enemy and their besieged city…

A "Lying Wonder" is also a religious service offered to a god claiming the power to appease or please.

Mike Cope:  I still find great joy in adding my voice to a chorus of voices of brothers and sisters in Christ.

I love instrumental worship,

Worship is to GIVE HEED to the Word of God: you are worshiping the musician if you "love" instrumental worship.

but so often I find my head aching from the guitars and drums that are deafening and I realize I can’t hear anyone singing — except the faint sound of everyone singing unison. Nearly every time we have Christian speakers from other tribes come to the Zoe conference, they stop to mention how the four-part harmony they hear is such a powerful symbol of the unity-within-diversity of the gospel. (Admittedly, not all singing services sound like the Zoe conferences. But you get the point.)

Nimrod and medical science knows that you are being INJECTED with a drug high: it has to HURT before the endorphins kick in and give you that HIGH you come back for.

Mike Cope Repudiates ALL recorded Scripture and historical scholarship.

        When I sing I remember that God is the audience, not me;
        and I remember that my job is to add my part — to participate with a grateful heart.
        Not saying that doesn’t happen in other settings; I just love that as a strength of my own heritage.

The Direct Command is to SPEAK that which is written for our learning.
LEXIS is the opposite of ODE.

The singing and "psallo" is IN THE MIND because Speak is the opposite of poetry or music. God isn't listening to you give yourself a sexual-like stimulation according to Plato and Carol Wimber.

Mike Cope: Eighth: Autonomous. Remember that word? Godly leaders making prayerful decisions. No brotherhood pope (unless we’ve elected Randy Harris to the post).

But, Mike etal run around the country trying to USURP the role of the congregations which PICK their elders because they are already laboring to the point of exhaustion in preaching and teaching.  The Pepperdine Lecturships bring in instrumental people under the ploy of UNITY.

The elders as the only Pastor-Teachers do not make prayerful decisions. Prayer will not change the INCLUSIVE-EXCLUSIVE-PATTERNISM that they must teach that which HAS been taught. Nothing beyond being A School (only) of Christ (only) through His Word, Logos or regulative principle is assigned to elders to FILL IN THE BLANKS God just forgot.

Mike Cope: Ninth: The body of Christ is so wonderfully diverse. So much larger than any little groups. Celebrate the diversity of those who follow Christ!

MIKE COPE IS WAGED to try to REMOVE the diversity by secuding young preachers into lying, cheating and stealing the church houses of widoes.

No, the body of Christ is NOT diverse. Unity in Diversity is a big fat lie.  The church is commanded to SPEAK THE SAME THINGS: Paul explained how: use ONE mind and ONE mouth to teach that which is written for our learning. In the Synagogue the same text would be open in all of the assemblies.  Jesus stood up to READ and had the uncommon decency to SIT DOWN.

Jesus Christ gave the Spiritual office ONLY of APT elders as the only pastor teachers: their first job is to eject the cunning craftsmen or sophists. Sophists are preachers for pay, singers and instrument players. Certainly Doctors are removed because they take away the key to knowledge.  Paul's reason was that THEY ARE LYING IN WAIT TO DECEIVE.

From the "singing and harp playing prostitute" in  the Garden of Eden to the Babylon Mother of Harlots in Revelation 17, the MARK is "lusted after fruits" usurping a ROLE for which there is no DOLE as rhetoricians, singers, instrument players and craftsmen: John called them SORCERERS and said that they will be cast alive into the lake of fire.
