Can Jesus Survive Religion's Failures?
Religions ALWAYS fail but Jesus has nothing to do with RELIGION meaning superstitious observations administered by professional craftsmen: John calls the speakers, singers and instrument players SORCERERS to be CAST ALIVE INTO THE LAKE OF FIRE.
Jesus established the SECT that is called the WAY: the Road is a very narrow pattern and the foolish cannot even stumble into it. You cannot be a Christian without being SECTARIAN.
Jesus had a ONE PIECE PATTERN as a School (only) of the Word (only) begining with The Church (synagogue) of Christ (the Rock) in the wilderness AFTER israel fell into instrumental - trinitarian idolatry at Mount Sinai. Jesus even survies professionals whom He gave no role and no dole because their task is to collectivize the ECUMENICAL as the kingdom of Satan.

Rubel Shelly: One of the great strengths of the Christian faith has been its ability to endure, accommodate, and use the cultural shifts across the centuries without losing its essence. Even in its most misguided forms, the Christian religion has continued to pass along its central message about Jesus' death, burial, and resurrection.
Jesus and the Disciples preached the GOSPEL OF THE KINGDOM. The death, burial and resurrection is defined as a FORM or TUPOS. Only after we have OBEYED that form by being baptized are we THEN free from sin. Those who reject "Obeying the Gospel) are NOT part of the kingdom: Jesus ADDS them when they REQUEST it at baptism.
The Church of Christ is the SCHOOL of the Prophets and Apostles: it does not go out of style is is always COUNTER-CULTURAL. Those who follow Jesus and speak THE WORD will be despized and rejected and a LITTLE FLOCK and not of the ECUMENICAL defined as the kingdom of Satan.
Rubel Shelly: People in the most abysmal of churches in the most corrupt of cultures still have been counted among the redeemed. There were people in a church Jesus pronounced "dead" whose names were still in his Book of Life (Revelation 3:1-6). They had been granted divine favor on account of God's great love and in spite of church inadequacies or their personal failures.
Theologians no longer have to read the CONTEXT but they can WRITE themselves into the text as a GREATER THAN JESUS.
GRACE IS A NAME FOR JESUS WHO TEACHES TO REJECT WHAT RUBEL SHELLY ENDORSES
That's false, of course: the masses or the ecumenical are DEAD and dead means dead.

Religious observations are carefully crafted to take control of all of one's attention. That is the worship concept with is to be directed only to God.

Rubel Shelly: Over the past 500 years, a type of institutional church has functioned variously as a club, nation-state, forensic society, and irrelevance — all too frequently obscuring the presence and activity of God in the world. It taught the gospel as laws and steps, creedal statements and confessions. There was little tolerance for leaving anything unexplained and even less tolerance for persons who did not hail the explanation offered — contrived as it might have been — as conclusive. The Christian faith was termed a "system," and one's place within that system was determined by an all-or-nothing attitude toward it.
Rubel Shelly hates the PATTERN but uses the word PARADIGM which means system: The new Liberated church IMPOSE a few more pieces to the pattern which are anti-christian such as the always-pagan trinity. Jesus came only to find and save a LITTLE FLOCK of lost spirits: He does not pray for the world or the ECUMENICAL and He said that GOD HIDES from the wise or Sophists. A sophist is a performance speaker, singer, instrument player, actor or dancer: ALL of these are the only definition of LEGALISTS meaning that you have to have skill, learn, practice, perform, be paidi and be judged by RIDGED LAWS.
Rubel Shelly and the progressives HATE the Regulative Principle and think that it was invented by John Calvin. In fact all protestant groups claim to be apostolic meaning Built Upon (educated by) the Prophets and Apostles. Scripture clearly removes everything not being A School of the Word. That was a first principle of the American Restoration Movement which could define the LOGOS.

Thus came the formation of literally hundreds of denominations and non-denominations, with each group believing there could be unity only when others renounced their error and embraced its interpretation.
The Spirit OF Christ in the prophets defined His future REST both inclusively and exclusively. The Rest defines a SCHOOL. The church in the wilderness RESTED to Read and Memorize the Word of God. .
Rubel Shelly: Catholics have done it. Protestants have, too. Churches of Christ have been BAD at it.
Rubel Shelly specificially means the ANTI-INSTRUMENTALISTS upon whom Rubel heaps all of the RACA Words. "Vocal or instrumental rejoicing or rhetoric" was outlawed for the Church of Christ (the Rock) in the wilderness. Those groups flowing out of Calvinism means that there is a CLEAR STREAM being followed from the wilderness onward NOT to violate the commandments and examples of NOT repudiating the Word by imposing Instrumental "Music" which God calls noise.
Churches of Christ by that name existed in all periods of history and not were so Biblically deprived that they added instrumental noise to violate all of the commands and examples. The big lie is that Churches of Christ sowed discord because they REFUSED to have imposed that which they had never used in recorded history.
John Calvin called for Restoring The Church of Christ by simply REMOVING that which was NOT Biblical or ANTI-Biblical.
- Churches of Christ were against any kind of "unity" before the 1832 meeting.
- The 1832 agreement defended the Bible as the only "pattern" for faith and practices and ALL rejected the organ.
- Alexander Campbell and similar preachers DENIED that there was any unity (organizational) AFTER the 1832meeting.
- Not even fraternal gaterings were possible after the Disciplles followed William Miller and formed a society to SAVE all of the Jews to ENABLE the return of Jesus in 1844.
The DIVISION was within the Disciples-Christians after the introduction of the ogran (only we promise) and the split was defacto by 1890 but not a SECTARIAN split before the founding of the NACC in 1927 and completed in 1971 after which the Stone-Campbell Movement began and Rubel Shelly had launched another attack in 1984.
SECTARIANS or only those who IMPOSE something not required to be A School of Christ.
Rubel Shelly: So have Baptists and Pentecostals. It's everywhere! And the marvel of it all is that God has been working through those flawed forms and incoherent formulas to reach people, save people, and transform people.
That is passing a PROFOUND JUDGMENT that people are saved who call Christ in the Prophets, Jesus' commands and the New Testament commands for baptism LIARS. Believeth nots or the Apistos who COMPLY NOT are defined as TREACHEROUS and not part of the LITTLE FLOCK
Rubel Shelly: "So many people come to church with a genuine desire to hear what we have to say," Dietrich Bonhoeffer wrote of himself and his fellow-preachers, "yet they are always going back home with the uncomfortable feeling that we are making it too difficult for them to come to Jesus."
Tall all missed Jesus 101. Theology in the Greek world meant only the study of Abaddon or Apollon. Jesus cast out the laded burden and burden laders. Why should people have to thread the needle and be extorted in tithes and offerings to hear Shelly?
THE REST WHICH JOSHUA COULD NOT GIVE ISRAEL

The LXX asks a question. And from the use of the flute we know that the people were not worshiping God. Rather, this processional describes the procession to Topheth where children were burned in the Molech idol. The pipe, never used for religious purposes, is the Hebrew:

Rubel Shelly: Religion hasn't killed what Jesus started. When we cut through the forms and failings of church history and look past our own bungling, Jesus is still there.
Jesus is the ONLY Rabbi or teacher: Jesus is ONLY there when the elders teach that which has been taught. Jesus is OUTSIDE of the gates of temple complex just as the godly Jews were OUTSIDE and did not participate in the worship of the starry hosts.
James 1:27 Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.
