The New Hermeneutic-

Stone-Campbell Movement is lying against Scripture and the true History.  There was never any "joining" and Campbell would have understood that BIBLICAL or Greek Herneneutic is limited to TRANSLATING and further Explaining.  No one gets the right to get hired to Explain God.

Claiming the right to be hired to do what God nor Jesus nor Paul were apparently capable of doing.  That is to do what previous Bible Scholars or Theologians were ever able to do.  That is to FINALLY by the help of A spirit to explain what God or Jesus would have said clearly IF they had the talent and POSTBiblical training of Modern Theologians.  The THORN which caused Theologians to create a Cottage Industry of Classes. Lecture and selling books to, in turn, be used to train future Clergy to Crucify Again Jesus Who died to become the ONLY prophesied Prophet, Priest, King and Master Teacher to exclusion of any personal opinions.

ADDED 9.4.24 YOU CANNOT BELIEVE IN GOD AND THINK THAT EVERYONE WAITED FOR YOU TO EXPLAIN WHAT YOU INFER GOD WAS NOT ABLE TO DO. THE HERMENEUTICS OF HOLY SCRIPTURES GIVES WE WEE MORTALS THE RIGHT TO TRANSLATE FROM ONE LANGUAGE TO ANOTHER

SINGING TO REPLACE "SPEAK" CAME FROM THE NEW HERMENEUTS.

There was no praise service in the synagogue. What we would see in the later, more institutionalized synagogue, would be people memorizing the Words of God by reciting and having others respond much like the "sing-song" method still used. In time, everyone could recite or chant the entire Psalm and the "president" would have cleared up any misunderstanding.

So, who but a fool would have a Musical Worship Team when Jesus invites the twos and threes to COME LEARN OF ME?

So what we call singing, they called reciting as Paul uses the word "speak" or preach in the "singing" passages. MUSIC is a form of speaking in tongues as Paul proved in First Corinthians 13 and 14.

"Some of the singing which seems to be often, at the conscious or mental level at least, low -level glossolalia with instrumental accompaniment." (Bruner, Fredrick, p. 300, The Holy Spirit)

As to Apia as a name for Peloponnese or Argos, see Aesch. Supp. 260ff.; Paus. 2.5.7; Scholiast on Hom. Il. i.22; Tzetzes, Scholiast on Lycophron 177; Stephanus Byzantius, s.v. Apia.

Apis in Greek is Epaphus

Hdt. 2.59 The Egyptians hold solemn assemblies not once a year, but often. The principal one of these and the most enthusiastically celebrated is that in honor of Artemis at the town of Bubastis1 , and the next is that in honor of Isis at Busiris. [2] This town is in the middle of the Egyptian Delta, and there is in it a very great temple of Isis, who is Demeter in the Greek language. [3] The third greatest festival is at Saïs in honor of Athena; the fourth is the festival of the sun at Heliopolis, the fifth of Leto at Buto, and the sixth of Ares at Papremis.

If I were the Devil by Paul Harvey
In 1965 Paul Harvey predicted the whole Story Line of attacks beginning with God, The Bible and the Church.  Many "bible" based churches began the attack and claimed to be informed by a "spirit."  Apollyon leader of the Locusts or His Musical Worship team is well-pointed to the year 2000. This fits the time-line of Moses who began the destruction of freedom and the collectivized City States such as Babylon.  The Temple in Jerusalem is defined as a ziggurat because God abandoned Israel to "worship the starry host."

TLhomas Olbricht c. 1965 An Aristotelian Rhetorical Analysis of 1 Thessalonians,"
Olbricht is of Author and Quoted by numerous writers trying to prove that Paul used RHETORIC to influence His readers. That proves that Theologians have the "right" to find PATTERNS beyond the Biblical and Paul's giving us the roles of READ or SPEAK.

Maybe it was Paul who used God's Pattern.  In General, rhetoric is seen in many of the resources as a way to deceive an audience.  Rhetoric, Hermeneutics and Homilectic are foundational skills used by once-Christian colleges who also reject Scripture for today's culture.  By definition, Aristotle proves that men who deny God's Commands, Examples and Inferences (for eager students) need rhetoric only when they deny that God has His own WILL.

It is popular to say that even Jesus used Greek Rhetoric.  Scripture says that God put His WORDS into the MOUTH of Jesus.  Therefore, God was helpless. Leonard Allen says that THE Holy Spirit God was required to make the Father-Son INTELLIGIBLE.  God and all of Scripture limits human input as Silent Students who listen and do not ASSIST God.

Aristotle like all of the Classics and early Church Scholars repudiate the PRACTICES which are imposed and which sowed massive discord most beginning at Highland Church and ACU.  The Theologians who reject FACTS somehow debunk what Scripture clearly teaches as a way to attach the "babes."   Jesus said that God hides from the Wise or Sophists--rhetoricians, singers, instrument players--and reveals Himself only to babes or those enlisted in the School of Christ only after baptism gifts A holy spirit or A good conscience.

Col. 1:9 For this cause we also, since the day we heard it,
        do not cease to pray for you,
        and to desire that ye might be filled with the KNOWLEDGE of his will

G4152. pneumatikos, pnyoo-mat-ik-os´; from 4151; non-carnal, i.e. (humanly) ethereal (as opposed to gross), or (daemoniacally) a spirit (concretely), or (divinely) supernatural, regenerate, religious: — spiritual. Compare 5591
Col. 1:10 That ye might WALK worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing,
        being fruitful in every good work,
        and increasing in the knowledge of God;

Jesus gifted Pastors and Teachers or Elders and Deacons as vocational ministers. The building up or EDUCATING material was at hand and not to be private interpreted or Further Expounding.  This would despise the SPIRIT of God which made the Prophets more certain.

UNLESS GOD HAS DONE A ROTTEN JOB ARISTOTLE SAYS

Aristot. Rh. 1354a The result would be that, if all trials were now carried on as they are in some States, especially those that are well administered, there would be nothing left for the rhetorician to say.
        [5] For all men either think that all the laws ought so to prescribe,
        or in fact carry out the principle
        and forbid speaking outside the subject,
        as in the court of Areopagus, and in this they are right.
For it is wrong to warp the dicast's feelings, to arouse him to anger, jealousy or compassion, which would be like making the rule crooked which one intended to use. [6] Further, it is evident that the only business of the litigant is to prove that the FACT in question is or is not so, that it has happened or not; whether it is important or unimportant, just or unjust, in all cases in which the legislator has not laid down a ruling, is a matter for the dicast himself to decide; it is not the business of the litigants to instruct him.

Aristotle's Rhetorica (1404a),

But since the whole business of Rhetoric is to influence opinion,
        we must pay attention to it, not as being right, but necessary;
for, as a matter of right, one should aim at nothing more in a speech
        than how to avoid exciting pain or pleasure.
For justice should consist in fighting the case with the FACTS ALONE,
        so that everything else that is beside demonstration is superfluous;
        nevertheless, as we have just said, it is of great importance
        owing to the corruption of the hearer

ALL Theologians reject Aristotle, Jesus and most of church history.

I think, however, that we must observe that the older hermeneutic was less interested in ascertaining what the text meant, than in determining authorized patterns for the twentieth century church. --I think Allan is correct -- that we are not so much in a hermeneutic as in a theological method or authority crisis.  (Thomas Olbricht, CSC.  1989, p.8)

"The command-example-necessary inference hermeneutic focuses on the rules (that is, rules of logic), and the results, rather than on the actions of God.  It gets the cart before the horse.  We are committed to the book of God, but not for its own sake, but to the God of the book."  (Thomas Olbricht, CSC. 1989 pp. 11-12).

ARISTOTLE SAYS THAT THEOLOGIANS DENY THAT GOD WAS COMPETENT.

Aristot. Poet. 1458a

[8] The poets, as was natural, were the first to give an impulse to style; for words are imitations, and the voice also, which of all our parts is best adapted for imitation, was ready to hand;
        thus the arts of the rhapsodists, actors, and others, were fashioned
.
[9] And as the poets, although their utterances were devoid of SENSE,

Even now the majority of the uneducated think that such persons express themselves most beautifully,

for the other kind of style, it has already been treated in the Poetics.

MUSIC A SUBVERSIVE HISTORY

Commentary Cope 3.8.1 The structure (figure, fashion) of the language (i. e. prose composition) should be neither metrical (run into verse)1 nor entirely without measure or rhythm; for the one has no power of persuasion, because it is thought to be artificial (supra, c. 2. 4, peplasmenōs), and at the same time also diverts (the hearers' attention, from the main subject or the proof of the fact): for it makes him attend to the recurrence of the similar cadence. And so (the audience anticipate the answering or recurring cadence) just as the children anticipate the answer to the herald's summons, “Whom does the freedman choose for his attorney? and the answer is, Cleon”.

In that regard, epic's position is parallel to that of RHETORIC. Beginning with Aristotle's Rhetorica (1404a),
        critics of

There is a persistent association between theatrics, bad rhetoric and  EFFEMINANCY

The New Hermeneutic REPUDIATES the Holy Spirit of Jesus definition of Scripture and History which teaches Commands, Examples and Inferences. Blaming the "enemy" for universal teaching proves that the UNCONVERTED cannot READ Scripture nor can they HEAR Scripture when it is PREACHED by being READ in the synagogue/ekklesia ONCE each REST day of the week.   The same FOUNDATION is the Ignorant, Rednecked Southerners (Burgess) who PREACH that A Christian is a Disciple of Christ and a Disciple is an INDIVIDUAL STUDENT of the WORD.  Anyone RIDING on the backs of widows and honest hard workers is limited ONLY to the Teachings of Jesus of Nazareth. Jesus defined Holy Scripture as the PROPHETS and other prophecies CONCERNING ME.  SPIRIT has the meaning that God put His WORDS into the MOUTH of Moses (The Book of The Covenant), ELIJAH (the Prophets) and LASTLY the MAN Jesus of Nazareth.   Jesus called His WORD SPIRIT AND LIFE.

The WORLD or KOSMOS is the ecumenical or the kingdom of the Devil making war against the Kingdom of Christ or HOUSE of God which EXCLUDES Priests or Levites.  Jesus said that those who speak ON THEIR OWN are the Sons of the Devil.  They are the TARES as the literal people BELOW or Tartarus trying to silence the GOOD SEED from ABOVE.  Jesus was sent for a little flock of Lost Spirits.  Neither Jesus nor His found flock are OF this World.  The tiny, silent and hidden kingdom obey the MASCULINE function READING or TEACHING "that which is written for our learning."

Galatians 5:1.-"With freedom did Christ set us free; stand fast therefore.115 ."
Ver. 12. "I would that they which unsettle you would even cut themselves off." And he says well "that unsettle you."A man that is heretical after the first and second admonition refuse." (Tit. iii: 10) If they will,  let them not only be circumcised, but mutilated. Where then are those who dare to mutilate themselves; seeing that they draw down the Apostolic curse, and accuse the workmanship of God, and take part with the Manichees?

Chrysostom understood that the pagans used vocal or instrumental noise to stir up or create anxiety so that they could steal your food money. Christ outlawed this in Isaiah 55.  Christ outlawed BLASPHEMY in the modern context of saying that God commanded instrumental distractions when  He DID NOT.

But if you will not allow this,  why do you not mutilate the tongue for blasphemy, the hands for rapine, the feet for their evil courses, in short, the whole body?

BY QUOTING SCRIPTURE I WILL SHOW THAT ALL OF THE "WE-WHICH-REPLACES-WORD" HAVE NEVER READ THE PROOF TEXTS BEYOND WRITING A BOOK OR GETTING ON THE "LECTURE CIRCUIT."

SCRIPTURE AND ALL FOUNDERS OF RELIGIOUS INSTITUTIONS CLAIM TO BE "APOSTOLIC."  That means the perfected work of the Apostles who were eye-- and ear-- witnesses of Jesus. SPIRIT means that Jesus SPOKE only what the FATHER breathed into Him.  An Assembly of Christ--will by a MARK--build upon or educated by READING the Apostles and Prophets.

Michael Casey proposes
Story form is more compatible with scripture, for the most part, than CONSTITUTION,
        and more palatable to an age that DENIGRATES authoritarianism.

"In my opinion, the current discussion of biblical interpretation within Churches of Christ is more an issue of paradigm than of particular hermeneutical strategies."  (Jack Reese, CSC 1990, p. 2).  "The 'new hermeneutic,' as I have argued elsewhere, is basically a paradigm shift in our driving force"  (Thomas Olbricht, CSC 1990, p. 2).

"Virtually everything we have ever divided over has been external.  Just list them and look:  located preachers, orphan homes, missionary societies, Bible classes, communion cups, kitchens, translations, instruments of music, buildings and their proper use, evangelistic methods, and a host of others things - most of which are external."

Tom Olbricht is on the right track The CIE method no longer makes sense
        BECAUSE WE no longer believe its aim is central to the Christian faith.

It no longer answers OUR pressing questions concerning meaning, love, relationships, PERSONAL KNOWLEDGE of God, inspiration for daily living.  Orthodoxy (right opinion) is giving place to Orthocardia (a good heart), to coin a word.

1989 pp. 11-12).

Possibly the most widely accepted view among certain FRONT RUNNER in Dallas, Fort Worth, Abilene, Nashville, San Antonio, and Searcy
        is that the scripture is not constitution or code book, as envisioned by the old hermeneutic,
        but is a lover letter from God."  (Thomas Olbricht, CSC. 1989, p.6)

James Woodroof stated regarding the Jews: "They had become enamored by the WRITTEN WORD but oblivious to the LIVING Word."  (James S. Woodroof, The Church In Transition, p. 29).

But that was Paul's very point.  It was in regard to issue over which people differed that the Christians in Rome were called on to exercise tolerance and maintain unity."  (James S. Woodroof, The Church in Transition, p. 138).

Much division in the Restoration movement has resulted from interpretative disagreements regarding the exhaustive blueprint and attendant prohibitive role of silence.  Perhaps our history of fragmentation suggests that the patter concept of Scripture may not be consonant with the New Testament itself.  (Woody Woodrow, CSC. 1984, p.7)

The fact that many now regard the matter of silence as being permissive rather than prohibitive is well illustrated in the 29 page poem included the the book The Church In Transition "A Dream Of Judgment":  A Poem Concerning Those Who Make Laws Based On Inferences From The Silence Of Scripture, by John Carrol Brown.  (pp. 181-210).

A Christian is a Disciple is a STUDENT of the WORD of Christ.  The Word or Logos is God's Regulative principle.  Because God is God and Olbricht etal are not, it is impossible to love God and despise His Word.  Whether Scripture is good enough for theologians or not, it is terminally dishonest to make merchandise of the word and try to convince others that your PATTERN is better than Gods.  SPIRIT is figurative or a PARABLE because Jesus said that God hides from the wise or Sophists: performance preaching, singing, playing instruments or acting.  That is because they cripple the one-piece pattern for DISCIPLES which is to READ or SPEAK the Word.  They do not and can never accept the PATTERN of God which is:

TOM OLBRICHT AND THE THEOLOGIANS THINK THAT THE WORD WAS JESUS.

Jesus made God as WORD or communication both visible and audiible. We, also, to be a CHRISTIAN, speak what Jesus commanded and taught. That is the Prophets made more certain

The reality is that they do not want a hermeneutic at all.  They want to do what they please, as they please, with little or no restrictions from God’s Word.  It reminds this speaker of Psalm 2:1-3.

Michael Casey:  “I want to propose a ‘new hermeneutic’ that grows out of a critique of the ‘old hermeneutic’ of command, approved example, and necessary inference” (Christian Scholars Conference, 1989).

Paul Roberts:  “One of the major questions, or major approaches that is so common in our fellowship or our particular group is a perspective of looking at the Scriptures.  Is our pattern or our plan of biblical exegesis –
        how do we know what the Bible really says to do when you go to the Bible?
Do we have a little pattern or a little form?  It is called – well, we know it by three ways:
         by command, by example, by necessary inference.
If it commands, you do it.  If you find an example of it in the Scriptures, then that’s binding upon you.
If it’s necessarily inferred by Scripture, then that’s biding upon you.
        At least that’s been the perspective of the Churches of Christ for about a century or more.
        And, I think that’s one of the reasons why we are so divided today”
         (Radio Sermon, Westwood Church of Christ, march, 5, 1989).

To believe that the "audience" must have a Scholar-Mediator to stand between it and the Mind or Spirit of Christ is a denial of the power God put into His words which He said "are Spirit and Life" (John 6:63)

Campbell continues: "The author and ultimate object of our holy religion, is the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, by his Spirit, speaking in Christ and his holy apostles.

"The principle of this holy religion within us, is faith, a correspondent faith; that is, a belief, or inwrought persuasion by, and according to, the word of truth,

Thus we worship the Father, through the Son, by the Spirit, relying upon his teachings in and by the word, to lead us into all the truth which he has testified for our edification and salvation;

and also upon his internal influence to excite, instruct, and comfort us, by the truth; to help our infirmities, and to enable us to think and pray as we ought, both as to the matter and manner of our prayers. See Rom. viii. 26, and Jude 22, 21, with a multitude of other scriptures.

Thus we have the internal religion, the habitual worship of the real believer, the sincere bible-taught christian with its principle; which is the faith above described. See Rom. x. 12-15.

In the Greek literature, however, it is limited to TRANSLATION or EXPLANATION.

Hermeneutics--

The same as EXEGESIS, a term technically used of the interpretation of a text from the study of critical materials such as manuscripts, editions, and quotations. The word is from the Greek hermêneuô, "to interpret." See Textual Criticism.

His bust, mounted on a four-cornered pillar, was used to mark boundaries. --Proverb., koinos Hermês shares in your luck! Theophr.: cf. hermaion.

HYPOKRITES, HISTRO, ACTOR
It is shown in the articles Chorus and Dionysia that the Greek drama originated in the chorus which at the festivals of Dionysus danced around his altar, and that at first one person detached himself from the chorus and, with mimetic gestures, related his story either to the chorus or in conversation with it. If the story thus acted required more than one person, they were all represented in succession by the same choreutes.

1 Before the chorus began (or in pauses between their songs) the leader of the performance would improvise some appropriate tale or state the theme which they were to elaborate. Thus he was called ho exarkhōn or "the starter," and became in time the first "actor."

2 A Satyr play [The BEAST added to the musician]was an interlude performed by a troupe of actors dressed as the goat-like followers of Dionysus. Hence tragōdia, "goat-song."

CENI.Locke.html

John Locke

But since men are so solicitous about the true church, I would only ask them here, by the way, if it be not more agreeable to the Church of Christ

to make the conditions of her communion consist in such things, and such things only,
as the
Holy Spirit has in the Holy Scriptures declared, in express words, to be necessary to salvation;

I ask, I say, whether this be not more agreeable to the Church of Christst

than for men to impose their own inventions and interpretations upon others as if they were of Divine authority,
and to establish by ecclesiastical laws, as absolutely necessary to the profession of Christianity, such things as the Holy Scriptures do either not mention, or at least not expressly command?

Whosoever requires those things in order to ecclesiastical communion, which Christ does not require in order to life eternal, he may, perhaps, indeed constitute a society accommodated to his own opinion and his own advantage;

but how that can be called the Church of Christ which is established upon laws that are not His, and which excludes such persons from its communion as He will one day receive into the Kingdom of Heaven, I understand not.

Schism, then, for the same reasons that have already been alleged,

is nothing else but a separation made in the communion of the Church
upon account of
something in divine worship or ecclesiastical discipline that is not any necessary part of it.

Now, nothing in worship or discipline can be necessary to Christian communion (unity) but what Christ our legislator, or the Apostles by inspiration of the Holy Spirit, have commanded in express words

John Locke, born 1632,  defines heresy and schsm

http://www.piney.com/LockeHerSch.html

The Papists and Lutherans, though both of them profess faith in Christ and are therefore called Christians,
yet are not both of the same religion, because
        these acknowledge nothing but the Holy Scriptures to be the rule and foundation of their religion,
        those take in also traditions and the decrees of Popes
                and of these together make the rule of their religion;

and thus the Christians of St. John (as they are called) and the Christians of Geneva
        are of different religions, because

these also take only the Scriptures, and
those I know not what traditions, for the rule of their religion.

This being settled, it follows,
        first, that heresy is a separation made in ecclesiastical communion
            between men of the same religion
            for some opinions no way contained in the rule itself;
and,

        secondly, that amongst those who acknowledge nothing but the Holy Scriptures to be their rule of faith,

        heresy is a separation made in their Christian communion
                for opinions not contained in the express words of Scripture.

Hermes, Mercury or KAIROS the ANTICHRISTIAN Logos replacing Jesus Christ. He defined OUT the laded burdens (music, rhetoric, taxes) and the Burden Laders.

Tom Olbricht confesses that he gained his New Hermeneutic from reading about Theology and it is a necessary inference that it, like religious music, "Makes the lambs dumb before the slaughter."  However, he is not aware of historic scholarship which debunks his and the entire tribulation period twisting of the Declaration and Address.
Stone Campbell Hermeneutics John Mark Hicks

The the Stone Campbell Movement as a new SECTARIAN DIVISION AND DIVIDER

"Charles H. Lucas (right) helped build "discipling" churched which grew repidly in the 1980's, but by decade's end few ties remained with the mainstream.

"In the world of ideas, leaders such as Tom Olbricht, Rubel Shelly, Harold Hazelip and Max Lucado began to speak to broad audiences

as they freshened understanding of biblical texts.
The
addition of a doctoral degree program in Bible at Abilene Christian University was part of a wave of graduate Bible programs at Christian Universities.

"Lynn Anderson, then at the Highland church in Abilene, Texas, began to mentor a young generation of ministers. Reuel Lemmons' enthusiasm for world evangelism and unorthodox concepts continued to dominate the Firm Foundation and energize thinking.

More Neo-Pagan Parallels

Bible professors at some schools claim that they are part of a "Scholarship Movement," began calling for a New Hermeneutic in the late 1980s.  This was exactly 100 years after the infiltrated Disciples-Christian church professors began to deny the Biblical and historically affirmed Word, Logos or Regulative Principle: this outlawed rhetoric, personal opinions, personal experiences, singing, playing instruments or acting. These were all known to hinder the one-piece pattern of the Church of Christ (the Rock) clearly defined in the wilderness.
Liberation of Christian thought came as a result of the Revolutionary War. Fear of government prevented what Rubel Shelly defines as a NEW Hermeneutic in the Jesus Proposal:

Rubel Shelly and John York: [p. 114] Our proposal to focus on Jesus means that Scripture is NO LONGER a set of proof-texts or a collection of facts or God's rulebook for human behavior. Scripture is the unfolding story of God acting both to create and to re-create. It is not an easy book to understand.

It was NEVER intended as a document to [p. 115] be INDIVIDUALLY read and interpreted--a sort~of correspondence course in salvation.

While we still have access to reading as individuals, we stop asking, "What does this mean to me?"--as though there is such an isolated meaning. Instead we have a GROUP MENTALITY that asks, "What does this mean to US?"

Prior to the invention of the printing press, access to the content of Scripture was oral.

For thousands of years it could only be heard and interpreted in the context of community.

Yes, INDIVIDUALS could comment on Scripture, but those comments were always for the LARGER hearing of the community.

Only after there was INDIVIDUAL access did there become an opportunity for an individual, isolated reading and interpretation that had no need or use for community.

John Calvin informed the Churches of Christ in Europe and America long before the so-called Restoration Movement which the new HERMENEUTIC have divided up into Turf-Claiming Sects.

World War Two emerged a host of anti-war sentiment which filled the Bible Colleges with candidates for evasion.  The GI bill allowed some to move on to a Doctorate in Theology: Jesus said that the Doctors of the Law take away the key to knowledge. An advanced degree will never allow men who sell their own opinions at retail (corrupting the Word) to read BLACK text on BROWN Paper. That is why Paul in 2 Corinthians 3 said that they cannot HEAR the Word (only) when it is PREACHED by being READ.  Nor can they READ the Text. Otherwise they would grasp that the LORD is that SPIRIT.

Churches of Christ were never "unioned" with the Disciples-Christian Churches.  The Christian Church organized the NACC in 1927 and they did not leave the Disciples until after the 1968 Restructure and finally in 1971.  Several preachers boasted about infiltrating colleges in the 1960s and the Stone-Campbell Movement was formed based on lies.
My memory began in the late 1960s with Thomas H. Olbricht, Restoration Quarterly, and Mission Journal. "

Much of the writers parroted the earlier works of Olbricht (Bible professor at Pepperdine University), and the more recent works of C. Leonard Allen (Bible professor at Abilene Christian University). According to the so called "Scholarship Movement," our current hermeneutic (the "Old Hermeneutic" of command, example, and necessary inference) must be abandoned and replaced with a NH because they claim our current hermeneutic is a manmade tradition taken from the 19th century. The NH advocates have not reached a consensus as to what the NH ought to be, but they are all in agreement that the "Old Hermeneutic" must go. "Out with the old and in with the new" is the cry of the NH.

SHADY AND HERMES-LIKE NEW HERME-NEUTS Homer on Hermes
Hermes: Born with the dawning, at mid-day he played on the lyre, and in the evening he stole the cattle of far-shooting Apollo on the fourth day of the month; for on that day queenly Maia bare him. When Zeus had an affair with Mnemosyne, he coupled with her for nine consecutive nights, which produced nine daughters, who became known as the Muses.

They entertained their father and the other gods as a celestial choir on Mount Olympus.
They became
deities of intellectual pursuits. Also the three Charites or Graces were born from Zeus and Eurynome. From all his children Zeus gave man all he needed to live life in an ordered and moral way.

Hermes, the herald of the Olympian gods, is son of Zeus and the nymph Maia, daughter of Atlas and one of the Pleiades.

Hermes is also the god of shepherds, land travel, merchants, weights and measures, oratory, literature, athletics and thieves,

and known for his cunning and shrewdness.
He was also a minor
patron of poetry.
He was worshiped throughout Greece especially in Arcadia.
Festivals in honor of Hermes were called
Hermoea.

Originally Hermes was a phallic god, being attached to fertility and good fortune, and also a patron of roads and boundaries. His name coming from herma, the plural being hermaiherm was a square or rectangular pillar in either stone or bronze, with the head of Hermes (usually with a beard), which adorned the top of the pillar, and male genitals near to the base of the pillar.

The offspring of Hermes are believed to be Pan, Abderus and Hermaphroditus. Hermes as with the other gods had numerous affairs with goddesses, nymphs and mortals. In some legends even sheep and goats. Pan, the half man half goat, is believed to be the son of Hermes and Dryope,

And when the purpose of great Zeus was fixed in heaven, she was delivered and a notable thing was come to pass.

For then she bare a son, of many shifts, blandly cunning, a robber, a cattle driver, a bringer of dreams, a watcher by night, a thief at the gates, one who was soon to show forth wonderful deeds among the deathless gods.

Born with the dawning, at mid-day he played on the lyre, and in the evening he stole the cattle of far-shooting Apollo on the fourth day of the month; for on that day queenly Maia bare him.

Hermes (The Greek Jubal) invented the Lyre and it became the instrument of Apollon-Abaddon. He was the Spirit of and Leader of his Musical Worship Team. They were known as adulteresses which the Greeks applied to speakers, singers, instrument player or anyone who sold their persona.

HERMES IS KAIROS AS THE END-TIME EFFORT TO FLOOD OUT CHURCHES OF CHRIST WITH THE APOLLON-ABADDON AND BABYLON MOTHER OF HARLOTS.

Even by circa 1400 BCE, their influence was still so great that all correspondence with Egypt and the Pharaoh was conducted in Babylonian, and the name of the moon-god Sin formed the basis for the Canaanite names Sinai and the wilderness of Sin (ERE, Vol. 3, p. 183). The hand of Sin was seen in the cause of Catatonia or madness in children - hence, lunacy is associated with this deity

Eur. Ba. 161 [145] The Bacchic one, raising the flaming torch of pine on his thyrsos [Shaken Reed] , like the smoke of Syrian incense, darts about, arousing the wanderers with his racing and dancing, agitating them with his shouts, [150] casting his rich locks into the air. And among the Maenad cries his voice rings deep:
        “Go, Bacchae, go, Bacchae, with the luxury of Tmolus that flows with gold, [155] sing of Dionysus, beneath the heavy beat of drums, celebrating in delight the god of delight with Phrygian shouts and cries, [160] when the sweet-sounding sacred pipe sounds a sacred playful tune suited [165] to the wanderers, to the mountain, to the mountain!” And the Bacchante, rejoicing like a foal with its grazing mother, rouses her swift foot in a gamboling dance.
Is. 66:3 He that killeth an ox is as if he slew a man; he that sacrificeth a lamb, as if he cut off a dog’s neck; he that offereth an oblation, as if he offered swine’s blood; he that burneth incense, as if he blessed an idol. Yea, they have chosen their own ways, and their soul delighteth in their abominations.
Isaiah 66:4 I also will choose their delusions, and will bring their fears upon them;
         because when I called, none did answer;
         when I spake, they did not hear: but they did evil before mine eyes,
        and chose that in which I delighted not.
