The Nicene Creed Trinity

6.3 An Adaptation of The Nicene Creed [ (with scriptural references as it is based on the Bible):
Paul said:
1Tim. 2:5 For there is ONE GOD
and one mediator between God and men,
the MAN Christ Jesus;
SPIRIT or Breath Results ONLY in WORDS or Instruction.
So in 325 C.E., Constantine, already making Christianity a legal allowable religion (unlike previous Emperors), wanted the Christians to settle their differences to bring greater unity to the State. His motives were more political than ecclesiastical, but all in all it served its purpose.
The Grace Centered Magazine promotes the later day "trinity" which has little in common with the Nicene or earlier views. We will look at their views which are common to some Catholic and Protestants non-Biblical and Anti-Biblical creeds. The agreed upon Creeds understood that the Holy Spirit OF God or OF Christ was not considered a member of a god family of three. "Personae" were aspects of the One God. Pseudo scholars in defining God as "three separate centers of consciousness do not understand the meaning of "trinity":
The Trinity concept is not to be confused with tritheism, which is the notion of three separate deities acting together as one.
The Trinity of mainstream Christianity is seen as one God manifested as three distinct, but not separate, and co-equal persons.
The doctrine of the Trinity states that God is ONE being who exists, simultaneously and eternally,
as a mutual indwelling of three persons: God the Father, God the Son (incarnate AS Jesus of Nazareth) and the Holy Spirit (or Holy Ghost). Since earliest Christianity, one's salvation has been very closely related to the concept of a triiune God.
Full-ripe trinitarianism is a violent attack on Judaism and Islam: both monotheists.
The Catholic Encyclopedia also says: "In Scripture there is as yet no single term by which the Three Divine Persons are denoted together. The word [tri'as] (of which the Latin trinitas is a translation) is first found in Theophilus of Antioch about A. D. 180 . . . Shortly afterwards it appears in its Latin form of trinitas in Tertullian." However, this is no proof in itself that Tertullian taught the Trinity. The Catholic work Trinitas - A Theological Encyclopedia of the Holy Trinity, for example, notes that some of Tertullian's words were later used by others to describe the Trinity. But then it states: "But hasty conclusions cannot be drawn from usage, for he does not apply the words to Trinitarian theology." Quoted by
Comparison between Creed of 325 and Creed of 381
The following table juxtaposes the earlier (325 AD) and later (381 AD) forms of this Creed in the English translation given in Schaff's work, Creeds of Christendom, which indicates by [square brackets] the portions of the 325 text that were omitted or moved in 381, and uses italics to indicate what phrases, absent in the 325 text, were added in 381.
The Nicene council had only one motive: to denounce Arius who denied the Deity of Jesus Christ. It had as its method to affirm the deity of Christ even though Scripture affirms that God made the man Jesus of Nazareth to be both Lord and Christ. Only in the end result does Scripture speak of Jesus Christ although it was the Christ of god or the Word of God which is the Son.

Amen. Nevertheless, following generations have lifted verses out of context to confuse the original intention of the Nicene Creed. As an example of the ever-inflating pseudo-Nicene Creed----
The Grace Centered Magazine caters to those who would contradict those doctrinal views of the Church of Christ which has been held under that name from the very beginning. The fundamental error of the Lipscomb University led "scholars" is called trithism which is polytheism.
"However, according to the Nicene formulation, there are three simultaneous expressions of the divine substance. Consider the several roles that an individual can play on the stage of life: In relation to our parents we are a son or a daughter; in relation to our boss or teacher we are an employee or student; in relation to our spouse we are a husband or a wife. Which is the true person? Are not all of these expressions simultaneous? When we sing, "God in three Persons" in the hymn "Holy, Holy, Holy!" (the tune "Nicaea"), we might think of three performance or relationship modes of one actor or person.
John Calvin on Genesis One is in agreement with the explanations of the Nicene Creed:
"Christians, therefore, properly contend, from this testimony, that there exists a plurality of Persons (personae in the church Fathers) in the Godhead.
God summons no foreign counsellor; hence we infer that hefinds within himself something distinct; as, in truth,
his eternal wisdom and power reside within him.
Christians, therefore, properly contend, from this testimony, that there exists a plurality of Persons (personae in the church Fathers) in the Godhead.
He hath made the earth by his power,
he hath established the world by his wisdom,
and hath stretched out the heaven by his understanding. Jer 51:15When he uttereth his voice, there is a multitude of waters in the heavens;
and he causeth the vapours to ascend from the ends of the earth:
he maketh lightnings with rain,
and bringeth forth the wind out of his treasures. Jer 51:16

No historical trinitarian--whatever the creed--ever thought that God consisted of three, separated "persons" as a family. For instance, Augustine A Treatise on Fath and the Creed wrote:Grace Centered Trinity: Only-Begotten, (John 1: 18; 3: 16)
But God,
when He begot the Word,
begot that which He is Himself.
Neither out of nothing, nor of any material already made and founded did He then beget;
but He begot of Himself that which He is Himself.
God the Father, on the other hand, who possessed both the will and the power to declare Himself with the utmost truth to minds designed to obtain knowledge of Him,
with the purpose of thus declaring Himself begot this [Word]
which He Himself is who did beget;
which [Person] is likewise called His Power and Wisdom,
inasmuch as it is by Him that He has wrought all things, and in order disposed them;
of whom these words are for this reason spoken:
"She (Wisdom) reacheth from one end to another mightily,

The Word of God was with Him in the beginning; God made Jesus of Nazareth to be His Incarnate Word. Jesus denied that he had any words to reveal of himself: what He heard He articulated.

He is called "governing principle", because He rules, and is Lord of all things fashioned by Him.
He, then, being Spirit of God, and governing principle, and wisdom, and power of the highest,
came down upon the prophets, and through them spoke of the creation of the world and of all other things.
(This was the Spirit of Christ, 1 Peter 1:11; Revelation 19:10)For the prophets were not when the world came into existence,
but the wisdom [Spirit in this instance is Sophia] of God which was in Him, and
........... His holy Word which was always present with Him.
The WORD of God is that which HE alone speaks: He begets His Own Words. Jesus of Nazareth was prepared and given the power to articulate ONLY what He heard from the Father.

If the Spirit and the Word were begotten persons of a three member godhead then both had to be conceived and went through the birth process. That would deny that either Word or Breath were god people. On the other hand, classical trinitarians agree that the One God the Father in heaven GAVE BIRTH to His "breath" and His "word." When God "began" to speak He begate breath and spirit.
God's WORD was with Him when He "Spoke" all things into existence. Jesus of Nazareth was "a body prepared for me" and the man Jesus of Nazareth was MADE TO BE both Lord and Christ: Jesus is the INCARNATE Word but did not preexist any more than His Wisdom preexisted as a person.God was in the beginning; but the beginning, we have been taught, is the power of the Logos.
For the Lord of the universe, who is Himself the necessary ground (hyypostasi) of all being, in as much as no creature was yet in existence, was alone;
but in as much as He was all power, Himself the necessary ground of things visible and invisible, with Him were all things; with Him, by Logos-power, the Logos Himself also, who was in Him, subsists.
And by His simple will the Logos springs forth; and the Logos, not coming forth in vain, becomes the first-begotten work of the Father.
Him (the Logos) we know to be the beginning of the world. But He came into being by participation,
not by abscission;

and having become possessed of the truth, am trying to reduce to order the confused matter which is kindred with myself. For matter is not, like God, without beginning, nor, as having no beginning, is of equal power with God ; it is begotten, and not produced by any other being, but brought into existence by the Framer of all things alone.

which is the notion of three separate deities acting together as one.
The Trinity of mainstream Christianity is seen as one God manifested as three distinct,
but not separate, and co-equal persons.

The Trinity is God, His Wisdom/Spirit and His Word.

Jesus was speaking both Lord and Christ by God the Father's will: the same Christ was in the wilderness and now can be claimed of Jesus of Nazareth as His Incarnated state:
1Corinthians 10:4 And did all drink the same spiritual drink:
for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them:
and that Rock was Christ.
John 6:62 What and if ye shall see the Son of man ascend up where he was before?
John 6:63 It is the spirit that quickeneth;Grace Centered Trinity: and was incarnate of the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary (Luke 1: 35)
the flesh profiteth nothing:
the words that I speak unto you,
they are spirit, and they are life.
Jesus did not speak on His own but He became the Bread from Heaven when the Father Spoke the Word to Him: neither Son (word) or Spirit (breath) speaks on their own.
The Christ of God took on the form of a man: Jesus was "a body prepared for me." In retrospect, Jesus of Nazareth is called Jesus Christ because God the Father "made Him to be both Lord and Christ." He had and has full authority as God's Final message, king and High Priest of God.
John 3:31 He that cometh from above is above all:
he that is of the earth is earthly, and speaketh of the earth:
he that cometh from heaven is above all.
John 3:32 And what he hath seen and heard,
that he testifieth; and no man receiveth his testimony.
John 3:33 He that hath received his testimony hath set to his seal that God is true.
John 3:34 For he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God:
for God giveth not the Spirit by measure [meter] unto him.
John 3:35 The Father
loveth the Son,
and hath given all things into his hand.
This would be contrary to all of the expansions of trinitarian creeds.John 3:36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life:
and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life;
but the wrath of God abideth on him.
Everything God creates is through His Word: Word as in spoken words. God's Word is conveyed by God's Spirit or Breath. The Holy Spirit "person" did not have sex with Mary as the antithesis of pagan virgin births: God Spoke Jesus of Nazareth into cell division. It was the seed or sperm of Abraham which was required to fulfil prophecy.
Luke 1:30 And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God.Grace Centered Trinity: and became man. (John 1: 14)
Luke 1:31 And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb,
and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS.
Luke 1:32 He shall be great,
and shall be called the Son of the Highest:
and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David:
Luke 1:33 And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.
Luke 1:34 Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man?
Luke 1:35 And the angel answered and said unto her,
The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee,
and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee:
therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.
Word and Spirit are components of the One God breathing and articulating Words.
Proverbs 1:23 Turn you at my reproof:
behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you,
I will make known my words unto you.
God is never a MAN or a Man-God: The Word became Flesh.And He was crucified for us (Mark 15: 25; 1 Corinthians 15: 3)
Jesus wasn't made flesh: He was BORN flesh and Christ became flesh in Jesus of Nazareth.
John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word,
and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
John 1:2 The same was in the beginning with God.
John 1:3 All things were made by him;
and without him was not any thing made that was made.
John 1:4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh,
and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory,
the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
The Word made visible and audible is still the mouthpiece of the One God in Heaven.
John 5:30 I can of mine own self do nothing:
as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just;
because I seek not mine own will,
but the will of the Father which hath sent me.
John 14:10 Believest thou not that I am in the Father,
and the Father in me?
the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself:
but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.

and ascended into heaven, (Luke 24: 51; Acts 1: 10)
and sits at the right hand of the Father; (Mark 16: 19; Acts 7: 55)
and He shall come again with glory (Matthew 24: 27)
to judge the living and the dead; (Acts 10: 42; 2 Timothy 4: 1)
Whose Kingdom shall have no end. (2 Peter 1: 11)
And in the Holy Spirit, (John 14: 26)
Lord, (Acts 5: 3-4)
Acts 5:1 But a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession,Giver of Life, (Genesis 1: 2)
Acts 5:2 And kept back part of the price, his wife also being privy to it, and brought a certain part,
and laid it at the apostles’ feet.
Acts 5:3 But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart
to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land?
5:9 Then Peter said unto her, How is it that ye have agreed together
to tempt the Spirit of the Lord?
behold, the feet of them which have buried thy husband are at the door, and shall carry thee out.
The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God. God has HIS OWN Spirit or mental capacity. God IS Spirit and there is no ohter.
Who proceeds from the Father [and the Son]; (John 15: 26)
Who with the Father and the Son together is worshiped and glorified; (Matthew 3: 16-17)
And corresponding to that, baptism now saves you--Jesus of Nazareth was not approved as a Son until after He was baptized: while not a sinner, Jesus accepted the sins of mankind
not the removal of dirt from the flesh,
but an appeal to God for a good conscience--
through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, 1 Pe 3:21NAS
Romans 5:19 For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners,
so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.
Romans 16:26 But now is made manifest,
and by the scriptures of the prophets,
according to the commandment of the everlasting God,
made known to all nations for the obedience of faith:
Hebrews 5:8 Though he were a Son,
yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered;
Acts 2:22 Ye men of Israel, hear these words;This happened when the WIND or BREATH of God rested on Jesus after He was baptized. The dove or Rock Pigeon was a "a carrier pigeon" and was the identifying mark of the DAUGHTER of a MOTHER goddess in pagan trinitarianism. The meaning was
Jesus of Nazareth,
a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs,
which God did by him
in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know:
Proverbs 1:23 Turn you at my reproof: behold,
I will pour out my spirit unto you,
I will make known my words unto you.
Matthew 3:16 And Jesus, when he was baptized,
went up straightway out of the water:
and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him,
and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:
When the spirit or "wind" lighted on Cornelius He spoke the known language of the Jews. When God made Jesus of Nazareth both Lord and Christ He made Him is SON or WORD which was with Him from the first.

Never yet, Cyrnus, have good men ruined a city; but when it pleases the bad to do the works of pride and corrupt the common folk and give judgment for the unrighteous for the sake of private gain and power, then expect not that city to be long quiet, for all she be now in great tranquillity, ay, then when these things become dear to the bad —to wit, gains that bring with them public ill. For of such come discords and internecine slaughter, and of such come tyrants; which things I pray may never please this city.
979-982
I would have no man my friend with lips only, but also in deed; he must serve me willingly both with hands and with possessions; nor must he soothe my heart with words beside the mixing-bowl, but show himself a good man by act, if so he may.
Who spoke through the prophets. (1 Samuel 19: 20; Ezekiel 11: 5,13)
Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify,The Lord is the Spirit: the Spirit of the Lord is His Word: no one is changed unless they give attention to that Word

2Corinthians 3:13 And not as Moses, which put a vail over his face,
that the children of Israel could not stedfastly look to the end of that which is abolished:
2Corinthians 3:14 But their minds were blinded:
for until this day remaineth the same vail untaken away
in the reading of the old testament; which vail is done away in Christ.
2Corinthians 3:15 But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the vail is upon their heart.
2Corinthians 3:16 Nevertheless when it shall turn to the Lord, the vail shall be taken away.
2Corinthians 3:17 Now the Lord is that Spirit:

2Corinthians 3:18 But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord,
