Thou Hast Turned My Mourning Into Dancing

Thesis: Rise of Feminine or Effeminate worship of the starry host in the round or circle dance with instruments. Psalm 30 was written after the sin-induced Plague stopped at Jerusalem.   Instead of letting David be killed or let his people be killed, God gave him an old Jebusite High Place already operating as Sabazianism or the worship of the Astrial gods: Calling the gods Jehovah did not change the facts. This was the without redemption because of the worship of the starry host (Acts 7) practiced at Mount Sinai.

MUSIC demands some kind of body movements or harmony.  Click to see how my "investment with the Lord' at Northwest Church of Christ in Seattle has been TURNED into what Scripture and the Classics call Sorcery.

Thou has Turned My Mourning into Dancing. Perhaps by God's design, they didn't read enough to understand that this is the GENDER mark well documented by Christ in Isaiah 3.

Jeff Walling Instrumental Music in Worship.  The problem with preachers getting their information from other preachers intent on converting them is that they never get around to reading the story line and defining words. Jesus said that parables had hidden the truth from the Scribes and Pharisees from the foundation of the world. He called them hypocrites (actors) by referring to the Ezekiel version byChrist who named slick speakers, singers and instrument players.

Being lovingly stroked by the NACC makes Jeff and others think that the Lord LED them to sow discord even though it takes the "spirit' several decades to boil the frogs.

Jeff Walling Winterfest 2013 Denies that Scripture replaces BEING LED BY THE LORD.  The leaders of this effort claim that they expose YOUR youth to lots of musical bands TO TEACH THEM TO LEAVE YOUR MOVEMENT.

Jeff Walling and Women in Ministry.  Paul claims to be led by Jesus into all truth. Paul denies BOTH the women and Jeff Walling etal ANY role in a Biblical School of Christ. Since Jeff is LEAD without the Scriptures and any other source of material he does NOT know "all about Eve" as did Paul and any reader of the Word. The command is to PREACH the Word by READING the Word for Comfort and Doctrine.

THIS IS QUICK AND ROUGH AND FREE. Grasp that God ABANDONED the tribe of Levi just as Jacob warned. The godly people were quarantined from the sacrificial system and attended synagogue or A School of the Word. That never changed for the godly people and Jesus affirmed the Synagogue but only for the command from the beginning:

The Word of God was PREACHED by being READ on the Rest days.  The Lord's Supper was commanded to show forth or preach the death of Jesus Christ: those who recognize that Jesus purchased the church with His own blood and is the King of His kingdom and High priest over His temple and only Master Teacher when the elders "teach that which has been taught" will never think of themselves as having anything to offer as improvement.

Singing as a ACTS was imposed divisively in the year 373 but it only involved tell the Bible story in a cantillation style.  While group singing has served a binding or uniting purpose the "vision" of music as an act within itself has reached its climax defined in Revelation 17 under the Babylon mother of harlots: in Revelation 18 she uses lusted after fruits (same as in Amos 8) as self-speakers (craftsmen), singers and instrument players.  John calls them SORCERERS who HAD deceived the whole world and would be cast alive into the lake of fire.  The Spirit OF Christ defined the Prophetic Marker in Isaiah 30: God will (is?) drive His enemies (the Word hiders) into "hell" to the sound of wind, string and percussion instruments: these are the same ones Christ called "the singing and harp playing prostitute" in the garden of Eden.

Jacob had cursed the tribe of Levi and warned everyone not to attend their gatherings or follow their Covenant. The Godly people were taught The Book of The Covenant of Grace as the Abrahamic Covenant in the Qahal, synagogue, Ekklesia or Churchof Christ (the Rock) in the wilderness.  This quarantined the godly people from the curse of the Sacrificial system which was NOT commanded says the Spirit OF Christ (Isaiah 1; Jeremiah 7)

The musical idolatry at Mount Sinai caused God to DIVIDE the nation into that common to all Gentiles:

The Civil-Military-Clergy was abandoned to worship the starry host (gods named in Amos and Acts 7: not Jehovah)
The godly people attended the assembly or synagogue as a School of the Covenant and Prophets.

The NEW WINESKIN GOD "Dionysus certainly roves more than the other gods; the traditional picture of him is not one of him sitting sedately on Olympus sipping nectar and listening to the Muses (9 females) sing. Rather it is one of him roaming through the wilderness, thrysus (a reed bound with ivy and topped with a pine cone) in hand, followed by bands of ecstatic women, his Bacchants, and spreading the art of cultivation of vines and of wine-making. Other gods may leave Olympus, but it is not habitual with them as it is with dionysus.

"dionysus often seems to stand somewhere between male and female, between god and man, between death and life. He is a male god, but he is always surrounded by women, his chief worshipers.

"His worship involved transvestism and the blurring of sex roles. Men and women both dressed in long robes covered by fawnskins, and women, as bacchants, left their normal sphere of activity, the home, and danced madly on mountainsides. dionysus even looks somewhat ambiguous sexually; Pentheus in the Bacchae comments on the god's effeminacy: his long curls, his pale complexion.

The nations or Gentiles would be gathered into fellowship as disciples of Christ ONLY if the evangelist obeyed the simple command to GO into all the world.

We understand that the Levites as instrument players were under the King and Commanders of the Army: they stood in ranks to execute any godly person who came near any "holy" thing or into a "holy" place. That is because God does not live in houses built by human hands nor is He worshipped by the works of human hands.  When God's grace saved David's life He gave him Mount Zion to build HIS OWN Tent or Tabernacle because David feared to go to Gibeon.  But, says Stephen, Solomon built God a HOUSE as a place he supposed the gods could live in including those of his pagan wives. Earlier, David had built his own tabernacle:

David did not LIVE to see the HOUSE built by Solomon.  God never commanded the Civil-Miilitary-Clergy or Temple or slaughter of innocent animals. Because God turned the nation over to worship the starry host, the Jacob-cursed and God-Abandoned Levites "prophesied" with instruments which means that they were soothsayers or sorcerers.  Those who use that as a "pattern" are still not disciples of Christ.

The fact is that humans and mostly children were roasted in images of the god, or on fires, throughout the Aryan and Phoenician world. Romano-Celtic and Phoenician mothers took it as a matter of pride,
that they could comfort their children without emotion,

while they were being roasted alive in the name of piety,

        and the screams were
covered by drum and trumpets (cf. also MacGeoghegan ibid, pp. 65-73).

The customs were found in Tyre and among the Phoenicians, and continued for a long time there and among the Canaanites. Those who did not have children purchased them from the poor so that they would not be short of a suitable sacrifice.

The children who were burnt were either cast into a furnace or placed in a statue of Saturn, which was set on fire. The defeat of Carthage by Agathocles, was ascribed by them to the fact that they had sacrificed children of secondary quality being children of strangers and slaves, to the god in the form of Saturn (hence the Saturnalia), instead of their usual children of first quality.

They then offered up two hundred children of the first quality and three hundred citizens who voluntarily offered themselves to appease the god of their crime of negligence... This cult of worship of the Moon god Sin as the golden calf or Molech or the Triune God, of which the Trinity is the modern derivation, is the most evil form of human barbarity, and God condemns it and its system. The system is extant even today (MacGeoghegan pp. 67-68)

Somescholars believe that machowl is derived from chuwl, which means “to make an opening”33—a possible allusion to a “pipe” instrument. In fact this is the marginal reading given by the KJV.     "Maniac inspirations, the violent possession which threw sibyls and priestesses into contortions--the foaming lip and streaming hair and glazed or glaring eyes-- have no place in the self-controlling dignity of Christian inspiration. Even Jewish prophets, in the paroxysm of emotion, might lie naked on the ground and rave (1 Sam. xix. 24); but the genuine inspiration in Christian ages never obliterates the self-consciousness or overpowers the reason. It abhors the hysteria and stimulation and frenzy which have sometimes disgraced revivalism and filled lunatic asylums." (Pulpit Commentary, 1 Cor., p. 460).

This is the triumph of Dionysos: god of wine and theatre,  raucous music and frenzied dance; god of the wild, weird and exotic;god of the ecstatic, sexual and fertile; god of mystery, madness and the irrational;  god of passion, comedy and tragedy; god of bloody raw feasts  and secret initiation rites; and, significantly, a deity also known as "the god of women."

II. The Androgynous Phallic God

Nowhere is the paradox of Dionysos more dramatic than in the stark contrast between the god of the phallus and the 'effeminate' god of women. Ancient sources make frequent reference to Dionysos as 'womanly' or 'not a real man' (Evans, 20-21; Jameson, 45); they sometimes dress him in women'

> Ganymede:

GANYMEDE stands for anybody who, like his Two-Spirit native brother, the coupan of the sub-Arctic Konyagas, stands "drinking in the light of the MOON, the stars, absorbing all its brilliance and splendors to become a man of god."

"Upon hearing that Ganymede was to be cup bearer as well as Zeus' lover, the infinitely jealous Hera was outraged. Therefor Zeus set Ganymede's image among the stars as the constellation Aquarius [This IS the age of Aquarius], the water carrier. Aquarius was originally the Egyptian god over the Nile. The Egyptian god poured water not wine from a flagon.

"All of Zeus' scandalous liaisons have allegorical meanings. Zeus' torrid affair with Ganymede was a religious justification for homosexuality within the Greek culture.

Before the popularity of the Zeus and Ganymede myth spread, the only toleration for sodomy was an external form of goddess worship.  Cybele's male devotees tried to achieve unity with her by castrating themselves and dressing like women. .

> "During the fourth century the Jews came under the influence of Greek Rationalism. In 332 BC Alexander of Macedonia defeated Darius III of Persia and the Greeks began to colonize Asia and Africa. The founded city-states in Tyre, Sidon, Gaza, Philadelphis (Amman) and Tripolis and even in Shechem.

"In Egypt an ox is honored in place of the god. He is called Apis and he lives in isolation. If he ever goes among the people he stalks along while the lictors make way for him and throngs of boys accompany him, singing songs in his honor. He appears to understand what is happening and seems to wish to be adored. The throngs [of boys] sudddenly become inspired and prophesy the future. (Pliny, Natural History)

Consequently Apollo (Abaddon, Apollyon) was god of prophets and musicians and Pan was god of medicine, music and divination.

"Here singing served as a means of inducing ecstatic prophecy (speaking in tongues).

Thus the essential relationship between music and prophecy can be clearly seen. This relationship also explains why the expression for "making music" and "prophesying" was often identical in the ancient tongues. origen contra celsum 8.67.

THE DANCE OF ISRAEL ABANDONED TO THE CANAANITE AND BABYLONIAN WORSHIP

Remembering that God abandoned Israel to worship the starry host BECAUSE ofmusical idolatry at Mount Sinai.  The Jewish Encyclopedia agrees and the Jews had  a COVENANT WITH DEATH as marked by wild music and dancing

The Testament of Truth (IX,3) in the Nag Hammadi Codex also talks of Solomon's commanding of demons to build his temple (2nd-3rd cent. CE):

"They are wicked in their behavior! Some of them fall away to the worship of idols. Others have demons dwelling with them, as did David the king. He is the one who laid the foundation of Jerusalem; and his son Solomon, whom he begat in adultery, is the one who built Jerusalem by means of the demons, because he received power. When he had finished building, he imprisoned the demons in the temple. He placed them into seven waterpots. They remained a long time in the waterpots, abandoned there. When the Romans went up to Jerusalem, they discovered the waterpots, and immediately the demons ran out of the waterpots, as those who escape from prison. And the waterpots remained pure thereafter. And since those days, they dwell with men who are in ignorance, and they have remained upon the earth.

Who, then, is David? And who is Solomon? And what is the foundation? And what is the wall which surrounds Jerusalem? And who are the demons? And what are the waterpots? And who are the Romans? But these are mysteries ..

The Spirit of Christ warned about the Lying Pen of The Scribes (speakers, singers, writers, instrument players) called hypocrites. They said that the stones were just put into place by magic but the LEVITE MUSIC players performed Makes-Work noise and made Israelites into slaves.

H4234 mâchôl maw-khole' From H2342 ; a (round) dance:—dance (-cing)
H2342 chűl chı̂yl khool, kheel A primitive root; properly to twist or whirl (in a circular or spiral manner), that is, (specifically) to dance, to writhe in pain (especially of parturition) or fear; figuratively to wait, to pervert:
The sons of Mahol belonged to a Canaanite-like guild of musical propheseers or “wise men  “Such terms as ‘Asaph,’ ‘Heman’ and ‘Ethan’ or ‘Jeduthun’ are evidently used by the  Chronicler to designate musical guilds, and in the case of ‘Heman’ and ‘Ethan’ are closely paralleled by scores of abbreviated names found at Ugarit and elsewhere, and are characteristically Canaanite and early, not appearing in later Hebrew lists of contemporary names.”(Unger, Merrill, Archaeology and the Old Testament, Zondervan, P. 217
Mowinckel in The Psalms in Israel’s Worship, II, p. 212 says that the verb translated as musician means “smoothing the countenance of Yahweh.

Of Ceremonial objects: On occasion, objects have been used to compel the sacred (or divine) realm to act or react in a way that is favourable to the participants of the ceremonies or to the persons or activities with which such rituals are concerned, or to prevent the transcendent realm from harming or endangering them.

These objects thus can be mediatory devices to contact the divine world,
as, for example, the drums of shamans (religious personages
        with healing and psychic-transformation powers).
Conversely, they can be mediatory devices used by a god or other supernatural being to relate to man in the profane realm.

They may also be used to ensure that a chief or sovereign of a tribe or nation achieves,
and is recognized to have, the status of divinity in cultic or community ceremonies.
Of such a nature may be phallic cults.
Azazel is the chief of the Se'irim, or goat-demons, who haunted the desert and to whom most primitive Semitic (most likely non-Hebrew) tribes offered sacrifices.

The Old Testament states that Jeroboam appointed priests for the Se'irim. But Josiah destroyed the places of their worship, as the practices accompanying this worship involved copulation of women with goats.

The Se'irim, or hairy demons as the word itself means, are mentioned in Leviticus 17:7 and 2 Chronicles 11:15 as "goat-demons". Isaiah 34:14 says that the "goat-demons" greet each other amoung the ruins of Edom along with Lilith and other wild beast

"The religious poetry of the Ugaritic texts has been shown to have close affinities with the Phraseology of the Hebrew Psalms. From the same sources come references to a class of Temple personnel designated by the term serim, who exercised functions similar to those of the Hebrew singers during the monarchy and later times. Some of the servants of David who were designated in 1 Kings 4:31 by (a) term meaning 'aboriginal' or 'native sons,' and who possessed Canaanite names such as Heman, Chalcol, and Darda, were engaged in various forms of musical activity.

As such they were described by the phrase 'sons of Mahol,' a Hebrew term closely related to (the Greek), used of a semi-circular area in which the Greek chorus danced, and meaning 'members of the orchestral guild.'

"A further reflection of this musical interest became apparent when Megiddo was excavated and the treasure room of the royal palace was uncovered. From this area was recovered a plaque inlaid with ivory, depicting a royal personage seated on a throne. He was drinking from a small bowl, and was being entertained by a court musician who stood before him plucking the strings of a lyre." (See Amos 5; 6; 8)

"With the later days of Solomon came a resurgence of Canaanite idolatry, and when the kingdom began to function as two separate units, the breach between the religious life of the north and south was accentuated." (Harrison, R. K., Introduction to the Old Testament, Eerdmans, p. 335-6, see p. 411).

FINAL WARNING FOR DISCIPLES WHO WILL--BY DEFINITION--ATTEND SCHOOL OF THE WORD AND NOT OBSCENE THEATRICS

The Romans, at their own request, obtain from them
skilled performers-the proper seasons-the name too, for it is said they are called Ludi, from Lydi. And though Varro derives the name of Ludi from Ludus, that is, from play, as they called the Luperci also Ludii, because they ran about making sport; still that sporting of young men belongs, (playful or ludicrous) in his view, to festal days and temples, and objects of religious veneration.

Matthew 27:29 And when they had platted a crown of thorns, they put it upon his head, and a reed in his right hand:
and they bowed the knee before him,
and mocked him, saying, Hail, King of the Jews!
Matthew 27:31 And after that they had mocked him, they took the robe off from him,
and put his own raiment on him, and led him away to crucify him.

Chorus
Shall I move my white foot in the night-long dance, aroused to a frenzy, [865] throwing my head to the dewy air, like a fawn sporting in the green pleasures of the meadow, when it has escaped a fearful chase beyond the watchers [870] over the well-woven nets, and the hunter hastens his dogs [Catamites] on their course with his call, while she, with great exertion and a storm-swift running, rushes along the plain by the river, rejoicing [875] in the solitude apart from men and in the thickets of the shady-foliaged woods.
What is wisdom? Or what greater honor do the gods give to mortals than to hold one's hand [880] in strength over the head of enemies? What is good is always dear.
