Jesus said that God
only SEEKS people who worship in the NEW PLACE of the
human spirit as it is devoted to TRUTH which is Spirit and
Life. Paul said that the converted Jews worshipped God IN
THE SPIRIT. The reason he gave was that if you try to
worship in rituals or works of human hands you OPEN the
process for Judaizers and DOGS. ALL ancient scholars used
to prove that a SPIRIT can be worshipped with MUSIC are
related to homosexual musicians--often emasculated--to be
USED in the worship of homosexual gods or goddesses.
You can skip the rest if you understand that what Zoe is
promoting and which deliberately sows discord, is outlawed
by Paul for the "school of the Bible" in Romans 15 after
silencing these same 'diversities' in Romans 14. The Latin

Both eos and zoe apply both to light and life. Eos and Zoe are both identified as th mother or sister or even lucifer herself:

kithar-is ,means chraismêi (to ward off) and with aoidê. Kitharists were known to perform the "pretend" task of sorcery and were therefore parasites.
Odes are not to be sung audibly but "in the heart" because they are spells or incantation.
As applied to the common mother of the human race, the name Astarte is singularly appropriate; for, as she was Idaia mater, "The mother of knowledge," the question is, "How did she come by that knowledge?" To this the answer can only be: "by the fatal investigations she made."
It was a tremendous experiment she made, when, in opposition to the Divine command, and in spite of the threatened penalty,
she ventured to "search" into that forbidden knowledge which her Maker in his goodness had kept from her.
Thus she took the lead in that unhappy course of which the Scripture speaks--"God made man upright, but they have SOUGHT out many inventions" (Eccl 7:29).
Now Semiramis, deified as the Dove, was Astarte in the most gracious and benignant form. Lucius Ampelius calls her "the goddess benignant and merciful to me" (bringing them) "to a good and happy life." In reference to this benignity of her character, both the titles, Aphrodite and Mylitta, are evidently attributed to her. The first I have elsewhere explained as "The wrath-subduer," and the second is in exact accordance with it. Mylitta, or, as it is in Greek, Mulitta, signifies "The Mediatrix." The Hebrew Melitz, which in Chaldee becomes Melitt, is evidently used in Job 33:23, in the sense of a Mediator; "the messenger, the interpreter" (Melitz), who is "gracious" to a man, and saith, "Deliver from going down to the pit: I have found a ransom," being really "The Messenger, the MEDIATOR." Parkhurst takes the word in this sense, and derives it from "Mltz," "to be sweet."
Now, the feminine of Melitz is Melitza, from which comes Melissa, a "bee" (the sweetener, or producer of sweetness), and Melissa, a common name of the priestesses of Cybele, and as we may infer of
Cybele, as Astarte, or Queen of Heaven, herself; for, after Porphyry, has stated that "the ancients called the priestesses of Demeter, Melissae," he adds, that they also "called the Moon Melissa." We have evidence, further, that goes far to identify this title as a title of Semiramis. Melissa or Melitta (APPOLODORUS)--for the name is given in both ways--is said to have been the mother of Phoroneus, the first that reigned, in whose days the dispersion of mankind occurred, divisions having come in among them, whereas before, all had been in harmony and spoke one language (Hyginus).
There is no other to whom this can be applied but Nimrod; and as Nimrod came to be worshipped as Nin, the son of his own wife, the identification is exact.
Katein means to bring down or to go down to the grave. Dusin means the setting or hiding place of the sun. Musae

And the voice of harpers, and musicians (Muses), and of pipers, and trumpeters, shall be heard no more at all in thee; and no craftsman, of whatsoever craft he be, shall be found any more in thee; and the sound of a millstone shall be heard no more at all in thee; Rev 18:22
The craftsman is the Greek Techne: they include stage directors and house or theater builders. The "grinders" in Hebrew speak of the concubines or prostitutes.
Musae (Mousai). In Greek mythology the Muses were originally the nymphs of springs, whose waters gave inspiration, such as Hippocrené, Castalia, etc.; then goddesses of song in genera. They are all female and are considered goddesses dwelling in Olympus, who at the meals of the gods sing sweetly to the lyre of Apollo. They are the nine daughters of Zeus. [Apollo is at times the sun god or Saturn. Saturn's Chaldee (sounding brass, astrology) number is 666.
(1) Callio(pé (she of the fair voice), in Hesiod the noblest of all, the Muse of epic song; among her attributes are a wax tablet and a pencil.
(2) Clio (she that extols), the Muse of history; with a scroll.
(3) Euterpé (she that gladdens), the Muse of lyric song; with the double flute.
(4) Thali-a (she that flourishes), the Muse of comedy and bucolic poetry; with the comic mask, the ivy wreath, and the shepherd's staff.
(5) Melpomené (she that sings), the Muse of tragedy; with tragic mask, ivy wreath, and occasionally with attributes of individual heroes-- e. g. the club, the sword. [p. 1061]

(9) Urania (the heavenly), the Muse of astronomy; with the celestial globe.> Zoe has the same meaning as Eos . The word ZOE in gnosticism is the mother-sister of "jehovah" and superior to Logos or Jesus Christ. She is the SHINING ONE and also the giver of life. The word for life is ZOE.

In the Babylonian myths, Inanna (Aster) got the father patron god of music drunk and stole the ME or magical incantations. With this she acquired the power of the elder, going through the gates of hell, musical worship and homosexual practices. She specialized in tearing down temples.

The etymology of the Hebrew word "Eve" has been interpreted in various ways, including "first woman," "mothers of all living things" or, even "serpent" -- thus associating her with the concept that all life originated in a primeval serpent. Zoe is guide, instructor, savior, illuminator, mediator, serpent, beast.
Conflict often occurs between sibblings: Cain and Able, Jacob and Esau, etc.
LUCIFER pretends to be the Morning Star in competition with Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, legend makes Lucifer (female) the twin of the Word or Jesus.
Gnosticism which is built on ancient Babylonian legends identifies Lucifer as Zoe or Eve in the Greek Version (LXX). In this scheme, Mary is the mother of the gods and therefore superior to Jesus the Son. Zoe is Life with a superior female brain. Little "logos" or Jesus Christ comes without brains supplied. Therefore, Zoe is the "female instructing principle" and therefore superior to Christ.

........... Eve of Life (Eve-Zoe), namely, the female instructor of life."Her offspring is the creature that is lord.
........... Afterwards, the authorities called it "Beast", so that it might lead astray their modeled creatures.No doubt that modern models are sincere but no musical team would name themselves the Jezebel Team in light of the common association between music and ignoring the Word of God.
Hippolytus: The Worship of The Mother of the Gods--Serpent Worship
They rashly assume in this manner, that
whatsoever things have been said and done by all men,
(may be made to harmonize) with their own particular mental view,

Whence likewise they assert, that those exhibiting themselves in theatres,
........... not even these say or do anything without premeditation.Therefore, he says, when, on the people assembling in the theatres,

Greeks denominate (thee) Wisdom (Sophia); Samothracians, venerable Adam; Haemonians, Corybas; and them Phrygians (name thee) at one time Papa, at another time Corpse, or God, or Fruitless, or Aipolos, or green Ear of Corn that has been reaped, or whom the very fertile Amygdalus produced-a man, a musician."
This, he says, is multiform Attis, whom while they celebrate in a hymn, they utter these words:
"I will hymn Attis, son of Rhea, not with the buzzing sounds of trumpets, or of Idaean pipers, which accord with (the voices of) the Curetes;
but I will mingle (my song) with Apollo's music of harps, evoe, evan, ' inasmuch as thou art Pan, as thou art Bacchus, as thou art shepherd of brilliant stars."
Apollo is Apollyon or Abbadon. He organized an early seeker center.
On account of these and such like reasons,
these constantly attend the mysteries called those of the "Great Mother,"
supposing especially that they behold by means of the ceremonies performed there the entire mystery. [Moved into the presence of the gods with music]
For these have nothing more than the ceremonies that are performed there, except that they are not emasculated:
they merely complete the work of the emasculated.For with the utmost severity and vigilance they enjoin (on their votaries) to abstain, as if they were emasculated, from intercourse with a woman. The rest, however, of the proceeding (observed in these mysteries), as we have declared at some length, (they follow) just as (if they were) emasculated persons.
And they do not worship any other object but Naas, (from thence) being styled Naasseni.
But Naas is the serpent (ZOE) from whom, i.e., from the word Naas, (the Naassene) says, are all that under heaven are denominated temples (Naos).
And (he states) that to him alone-that is, Naas-is dedicated every shrine and every initiatory rite, and every mystery; and, in general,that a religious ceremony could not be discovered under heaven,
in which a temple (Naos) has no existence; and in the temple itself is Naas, from whom it has received its denomination of temple (Naos).
The Serpent, musical instruments and speaking in tongues are all related.

Click to see Rubel Shelly repudiate the none use of instrumental music in worship. This, of course, is the step required before the use of musical worship teams could be presumed to have mediating power between God and the worshiper.
While Dr. Shelly proposes to preach only a "core gospel" he not only repudiates any presumed authority for not using instruments, he goes further and demands that musical instruments are the gift of God. At the same time, he declares on the side of A Capella for the "plenary" sessions of the church but allows them for other "non-worship" rituals. However, history does not support the "now we are worshiping, now we are not" idea.
And at the Restoration Forum at Abilene Christian University (ACU), Dr. Shelly has already established a foundation hostile to the purely A Capella view -- if those who hold it also claim some authority -- by repudiating those who resist full fellowship with instrumental groups.
We do not assign guilt by association. However, it is all to easy to adopt some cute title for a "team" whose motives may be pure, but whose historical background is lacking. This creates confusion and rejection of the new team. For instance, the word ZOE may indicate some form of LIFE but no team is able to bestow life. Jesus said: "My words are spirit and life" (John 6:63). In a historical sense ZOE and SOPHIA are the life and wisdom which replaces Christ in the system of Gnosticism -- that is to say, "Paganism." This is the realization of the rule of the female gods and goddesses to replace the "dead" masculine God principle.
It is clear, however, that all of the commercial 'worship renewal' efforts make the claim that they can teach you the Christian use of pagan praise, dance, drama and music to "move you into the presence of God."
Here is how Mother Godess or Serpent Worship came about:
Now the production of the instructor came about as follows. When Sophia let fall a droplet of light, it flowed onto the water, and immediately a human being appeared, being androgynous.
That droplet she molded first as a female body.
Afterwards, using the body she molded it in the likeness of the mother, which had appeared. And he finished it in twelve months.
An androgynous human being was produced, whom the Greeks call Hermaphrodites; and whose mother the Hebrews call
Eve of Life (Eve-Zoe), namely, the female instructor of life.
Her offspring is the creature that is lord.
Afterwards, the authorities called it "Beast", so that it might lead astray their modelled creatures.
The interpretation of "the beast" is "the instructor". For it was found to be the wisest of all beings.

To eat of this TREE one eats of the Spiritual Word of God. However, of those MARKED by the Babylon Harlot:
And the fruits that thy soul lusted after are departed from thee, and all things which were dainty and goodly are departed from thee, and thou shalt find them no more at all. Rev 18:14
As we see Apollo or Abaddon or Apollyon releasing the LOCUSTS to separate those with different MARKS the promise is that the MUSES which were the TEAM of Apollo will be silenced:

The Book of Enoch quoted by Jude says that 'God will come with ten-thousand saints to execute judgment" upon those who deliberately take away the key to knowledge.
The sins listed by Enoch were:
Rejecting the "Faith delivered to the Saints" as complete.
Satan teaching Genun (Jubal) how to take away truth with instrumental music and mixed-sex choirs.
And taking the lives of little babies -- abortionThere is no debate over the fact that Jude refers to the "roving planets" who were agents of Satan or Lucifer (gender-variant but primarily female). The primary weapon of Lucifer was musical instruments (King of Tyre, King of Babylon and the end-time Babylonian whore religion).
By reading Enoch and a half dozen other versions we know that "there was no other belief" but that Satan taught Genun (Jubal) how to deceive the holy people of God. The eminent scholar Noel Friedman agrees as does all known written opinion from Babylonian tablets, to the Bible to the church fathers and beyond. Consistent with this last evidence, it comes as no surprize that when one has been MARKED by music it is not possible to ever hear the voice of God again.
"Sincerity" and a dollar will buy you a cup of coffee. Sincerity is totally valueless in determining whether legalistic, works-oriented efforts like musical worship or "praise to move you into the presence of God" is either productive or Scriptural. Most literate people clearly understand that music tickles or molests every nerve ending in the body and feels "spiritual" only because it rubs those nerve endings raw and the God-supplied brain rushes a morphine-like drug to heal the pain and give you a "drug high."
The danger of lifting names and concepts is that other groups are not so harmless and rather than promoting the unity for which Christ prayed and died, people are driven further away from one another.
For instance, the "men's movement" makes its appeal through the phallic religion of ancient paganism and modern phylosophy and everyone gets aroused and falls into line:
"It is Noll's thesis that Carl Jung created a
select, elite group of spiritual initiates that would lead the rest of society to redemption [Jubilee was always connected to redemption and atonement].
Jung was influenced by Eugen Diederichs who "called for just such a spiritual aristocracy to lead" post-war Germany. (p. 87)
Diederichs also, believed that "being truly religious means being irrational" and that his calling as a publisher was to "push the irrationalist character of religion into the foreground" and assist in creating "a new mythos" or "mystique" (paradigm) for the spiritual reawakening of the Germanic peoples."
See Rubel Shelly and Randy Harris using Narrative Theology to do a second incarnation to turn the loss of Grace because of musical idolatry at Mount Sinai into a "paradigm" for worship and community. Those following Satan are reincarnated as "our spiritual fathers."
"Jung was also influenced by Count Hermann Keyserling and was a prominent lecturer at Keyserling's Schule der Weisheit (School of Wisdom) which taught yoga and other esoteric doctrines.
"Keyserling trained his metaphysically superior elite to
lead the spiritual reawakening of the world.His goal was
"to develop sages from fragments of men" and to develop "the true leader of the future"...the metaphysically "chosen" agents of cultural change in the modern world. (Noll. p. 94)This sounds like the ancient Zoe concept:
In experential gnosticism (rather than revealed) when Sabaoth began to sing praises to Sophia and ZOE, they permitted him to have:
infinitely many angels to act as ministers, and
also harps and lyres.
And Sophia took her daughter Zoe and had her sit upon his right to teach him"Was Jung a utopian? According to Noll, Jung hoped that through his methods of psychoanalysis that his
"patients would not only heroically suffer psychological crucifixions and heal themselves,
but afterwards they could redeem society as well by becoming initiates of this new secret wisdom of the ages...
In a section on "Individuation and Collectivity"... Jung proposes linking individual spiritual development with the fate of humankind, using such statements as,
"The individual is obliged by the collective demands to purchase his individuation at the cost of equivalent work for the benefit of society." (p. 232)
Noll concludes, informing movements to "move you into the presence of God" through song, music and dance:
"Through the techniques Jung taught his patients, which he expected them to practice well after therapy was over,
they could access the religious wisdom of the ages. If they survived the initial ordeal without permanent damage,
they could announce these insights from the ancestors and apply them to the rest of society,
........... thereby redeeming humanity by leading it to a spiritual awakening.As these initiates, the elite corps of the individuated, can receive information directly from the collective unconscious (the land of the ancestors or the dead),
they have the advantage and, indeed, the obligation, to proselytize this new doctrine for the benefit of society. (The Jung Cult: Origins of a Charismatic Movement by Richard Noll (Princeton University Press, 1994, p. 232-233)
In the Experiencing God program people are led to believe that they can, as did Jesus, get their own direct "assignment" for their time and place.
As the Willow Creek model hopes to convert the world by having them look to the lives and performance talent of musical worship teams as examples. Performance "worship" and preaching actually believes that as "God's Demo-Model" they can convert the world. We remember a preacher terribly dissapointed because the style and content of the sermon should have made some converts. Therefore, there must be something wrong with the "human material."
Ecumenical breaking down of the walls is also vital:
"The Spirit of almighty God will unite Christians of every race into a holy nation, filling our hearts with the compassion of Jesus Christ and shaping our character to reflect His royal majesty.
Our united movement of true brotherhood will manifest the love of God for those who are lost,
and a great harvest of souls will be gathered before the throne of God by the power of the Holy Spirit. Amen! Let's join our hearts together in the Holy Spirit and cry to heaven: "Shine, Jesus, shine!" (Hippo, p. 128) [emphasis ours]
Shelly - Harris quote Hans Kung's view of the "now but not yet" kingdom. It is significant that others feel the need for Christ when He said that He would return as the "another Comforter" (John 14:16-18) as head of His Church, His Kingdom which is spiritual and not discerned by human seekers. Others agree and say:
"The Second Coming of Christ, therefore, is through the Church, not Jesus returning in the flesh; we should not wait for Him to return in order to set the world in order,
but we are to take His authority over the world and the spiritual realm now. This concept reduces Jesus to just one part of a greater whole. (Dager, p. 148)
Lynn Anderson at Jubilee 99 will tell you how to lift up the name of the Lord and perhaps that many of the initiates in the Jungian Change Agentry (JCA) have not survived the initial ordeal without permanent damage. We hear from many of them. The Andersonian method is to drive the initiates close to the edge or the brink but know when to stop the stress. Bob and weave and back off: "You know that he is not serious, don't you?" Then when the restless natives have settled back into place and lost the momentum, hit them again and drive them a bit closer to the edge. Keep this up until they are comfortable doing something they don't want to do. Some churches call them worship facilitators.
Jesus, through the gospel (everything He taught), upset the equilibrium in a counter-religious teaching which fired the clergy who "took away the key to knowledge." However, modern education has discovered the break them and remake them techniques and has made a huge "cottage" industry out of selling seminars, books and tapes on applying counter-Jesus techniques to the modern church. Thousands of "Jubilee-like" movements have sprouted like poison ivy to reshape us in the image of the shaper.
The methods described below involving the new age movement from sincere believers to the promotion of witchcraft all seem to use the same methods. We do not judge motives but you must read this article and the data on witchcraft by clicking here. The danger is that in sweeping up new, magical paradigms from human potential movements we may fly away on our broom.

The most ancient superstition is the belief that certain people can through praise lead you into the presence of God.
LaMar Boschman serves on the advisory board of the North American Summit on the Future of Worship with Robert Webber. He has been an instructor at Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, California.

Yet is that what the Bible says? That 'God's presence' will be manifested while singing and playing praise music and unlock a doorway to the spiritual realm? No Scriptures indicate this occurs. And the Bible needs to be our authority in spiritual matters. Not the music or words of men.
Because there is not a hint of the idea of praise as a witch-like effort to ride the worship broom into "God's presence" we should see this is a warning which can be heard by anyone who has not been MARKED by musical superstition.
"The role of 'praise and worship' music according to those who are involved with it is to bring people 'into the 'presence of God'. Religious ecstasy as seen in 'Toronto Blessing' or at Brownsville with the characteristic weeping and laughing, and being 'slain in the spririt' is defined as the 'anointing of the presence of God.'
"The extract from an article published in 1987 quotes John Wimber, founder of the Vineyard churches and his wife Carol who also instrumental in their founding in 1977. The Vineyard church at Toronto Airport gives its name to Toronto Blessing, Bill McCartney founder of Promise Keepers is a member of a Vineyard fellowship as are others on the Board of the organization.
After she had a dream in 1976 of standing preaching to a large crowd a seven-point sermon on the gifts of the Spirit, at the final point, 'a sensation like hot electricity' hit her head, travelled down her body, then up and out of her mouth. She awakened speaking in tongues. The sensation of heat and electricity is typical of that experienced in the current revival. She said 'Soon God stopped showing me what he had wanted to do in the past and began to show me what he was going to do in the future. I had a strong sense of God's desire for his bride, for the whole Church - Protestant, Catholic, Orthodox.' (Riding the Third Wave - 1987)
In the article "Worship: Intimacy With God the philosophy behind the 'praise and worship' found in the Vineyard churches it is explained that there is a 'well-thought out philosophy' guiding how God is worshipped through music and movement in order to achieve the goal through "Worship: Intimacy With God" .
"To understand how we worship God, it is helpful to learn about our fellowship's history, which goes back to 1977. At that time my wife, Carol, was leading a small group of people in a home meeting that evolved into the Anaheim Vineyard. I'll let her describe what happened during that time.
"After we started to meet in our home gathering, I noticed times during the meeting -- usually when we sang -- in which I experienced God deeply... occasionally we sang a song personally and intimately to Jesus, with lyrics like 'Jesus, I love you.'
Those types of songs both stirred and fed the hunger for God within me... Thus we began to see a difference between songs ABOUT Jesus and songs TO Jesus. "About that time we realised our worship blessed God, that it was for God alone and not just a vehicle of preparation for the pastor's sermon. This was an exciting revelation. After learning about the central place of worship in our meetings, there were many instances in which all we did was worship God for an hour or two.
"At this time we also discovered that singing was not the only way to worship God. Because the word worship means literally to bow down, it is important that our bodies are involved in what our spirits are saying. In scripture this is accomplished through bowing heads, lifting hands, kneeling, and even lying prostrate before God. ... we are blessed as we worship him.
He visits his people with manifestations of the Holy Spirit. "Thus worship has a two-fold aspect: communication with God through the basic means of singing and praying, and communication from God though teaching and preaching the word, prophecy, exhortation, etc. We lift him up and exalt him, and as a result are drawn into his presence where he speaks to us."
"In the Vineyard we see five basic phases of worship, phases through which leaders attempt to lead the congregation.... as we pass through these phases we are headed toward one goal:
intimacy with God.".... The fourth phase is described as "God Visits His People when "Expression then moves to a zenith, a climactic point, not unlike physical lovemaking... We have expressed what is in our hearts and minds and bodies, and now it is time to wait for God to respond.
Stop talking and wait for Him to speak, to move. I call this, the fourth phase, visitation:"
The fifth phase is called "Generosity "The fifth phase of worship is the giving of substance. The church knows so little about giving, yet the Bible exhorts us to give to God. it is pathetic to see people preparing for ministry who don't know how to give. That is like an athlete entering a race, yet he doesn't know how to run. If we haven't learned to give money, we haven't learned anything... " From Source
Wouldn't you know it, pagan religions always charged for their worship rituals, their books, their trinkets.
" BHAGWAN SHREE RAJNEESH tells one of his followers in his book, "Dance Your Way To God," 'just be joyful . . . God is not serious . . . this world cannot fit with a theological god . . . so let this be your constant reminder - that you have to dance your way to God, to laugh your way to God' (p. 229). Rajneeshru is referred to as being 'drunk on the divine,' and encourages his followers to come and 'drink' from him.
His spiritual 'wine' was often passed along with a single touch to the head. Rodney Howard Browne who has passed the holy laughter on to others calls himself a Holy Ghost bartender dispensing the new wine."

Of course, as usual, David is misused to justify catchy buzz-terms. When the Psalmist made this statement, he was looking to God and not to the team or worship experience. He said:
I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. Psalm 121:1
My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth. Psalm 121:2
End-time religion will be a mixture of religion and commerce with musical worship as the key "change agent."
In Greek it is the human or animal life or life in general. It addresses the life-principle or flesh and not the spirit or mind of mankind.
However, the ZOE concept is identical to the urge for female dominance. Some Zoe "prophetesses" muse whether they should have an all female church!
This was the theme in ancient and second incarnations of experential Gnosticism. For instance, in The Hypostasis of the Archons,
"This ruler, by being androgynous (both male-female, hermaphroditeic), made himself a vast realm, an extent without limit. And he contemplated creating offspring for himself, and created for himself seven offspring, androgynous just like their parent. And he said to his offspring, "It is I who am god of the entirety."
"And Zoe (Life), the daughter of Pistis Sophia (Wisdom in Proverbs), cried out and said to him, "You are mistaken, Sakla (Jehovah)!" - for which the alternative name is Yaltabaoth. (Sophia-Zoe is very similar to Lucifer who is either female or gender-variant)

Almost all musical terms in the Bible are related to the panic of war, prostitution, commercial slight of hand or some other act which abrades, seduces or grinds one to bits to gain an advantage. This is why Paul insisted that the "melody" or breaking to bits take place in each individual heart. Ancient paganism was aware that:
"All things come into being by conflict of opposites, and the sum of things flows like a stream. This order, the same for all things, no one of gods or men has made, but it always was, and is, and ever shall be, an ever-living fire, kindling according to fixed measure, and extinguished according to fixed measure. Justice meant a balance of opposites, and hence could be defined as strife.
Heraclitus cited as an example the tension between the string and the frame in a bow or a musical instrument. 'Harmony lies in the bending back, as for instance of the bow or of the lyre... Opposition unites. From what draws apart results the most beautiful harmony. All things take place by strife'." (Parkes, Henry Bamford, Gods and Men The Origins of Western Culture, p. 188, Knopf)

Paul said that: "When I came to you, brothers, I did not come with eloquence or superior wisdom as I proclaimed to you the testimony about God. 1 Corinthians 2:1
He was not a prominent, superior in rank, authority. To excel. Note: the musical overseers under David and Solomon were excellers. The LXX on Amos says that their music was just "fleeting pleasure" but they thought that it had "abiding value." Didn't have a book or a "program" to promote either.
The Willow Creek Association notes that it is not the drama which is important but the "living portrayal of dedicated Christians." This will always lead to disappointment.

Worship is multi-dimensional, not limited to a weekly time and place. Instead, the encounters of God with His people throughout history have been in times of loss as well as celebration, in settings of splendor and squalor, in moments of introspection or even anger. To worship well we must become a people consumed by a desire to worship more.
"I must love my wife by a disciplined ritual in gatherings of friends." Nonesense. Worship according to Jesus is something done "in spirit" and it cannot be done in masses disciplined to worship well. This sounds so legalistic.
Jesus told us to pray in our closet or in private and He never led a prayer ritual. He made all acts of worship in the spirit and private because you cannot worship by ritual any more than you can love your wife by ritual.
Is this the worship of worship? If we worship hard enough perhaps we can move into the presence of God?)
No the Core of Christianity is Christ and Christ lives in the heart and not in the highly trained worship teams. There is no command, example or inference that the people gathered for "worship." Rather, they gathered to look out for one another, study the Word and honor Christ in the Supper. That was from their heart and worship was not the act but the result of putting Christ at the center rather than the "team" at the center.
Note: didn't Jesus say to worship "in spirit and in truth?" That is, in your mind as you meditate on the Truth of Lord Jesus Christ. The Dionysus, theatrical children of the Jewish clergy tried to get Jesus and John into their gender-bending choral (circle). However, Psalm 41 says that "Judas" would not "triumph over Jesus." That was always with loud music, dance and drama.
It is Bible 101aaa that: "Jesus did not Himself prescribe public worship for His disciples, no doubt assuming that instinct and practice, and his own spirit and example would bring it about spontaneously, but He did seek to guard their worship from the merely outward and spectacular, and laid great emphasis on privacy and real innerness in it (Mt. 6:1-18)" (Int. Std. Bible Ency., Worship, p. 3111).The only remote instance of "worship" in the modern sense in Paul's Corinthian letter is that their assembly was, "doing more harm than good 11:17", when they failed to observe the true Lord's Supper and teach the already-revealed Word of Christ. Only then, might one hypotethically "fall down" and worship knowing that God was, as promised, already in their midst without any pagan god-calling or arousal "worship rituals." Once you define edification as "worship" you open up the mind to the "spirits" of pagan worship rituals because they are clearly more exciting and sexual.
The animal sacrifices with loud noise (not music) was related to animal sacrifices for the "like the nation's temple." The common people were "outside the camp" and the gates were closed to them because this was worship in the WORK sense to convince Israel of the horrible nature of their sin.
Jamison-Fausett-Brown notes that:
"In the Jewish temple, musical instruments and singing resounded during the whole time of the offering of the sacrifices, which formed the first part of the service.
But at the offering of incense, solemn silence was kept ("My soul waiteth upon God," Ps 62:1; "is silent," Margin; Ps 65:1, Margin),
Duwmiyyah (h1747) doo-me-yaw'; from 1819; stillness; adv. silently; abstr. quiet, trust: - silence, silent, waiteth.
the people praying secretly all the time. The half-hour stillness implies, too, the earnest adoring expectation with which the blessed spirits and the angels await the succeeding unfolding of God's judgments. A short space is implied; for even an hour is so used (Re 17:12 18:10,19).
There were no prayer leaders or praise leaders for the common people any more than we need a "making love to our wife" leader. People pray for themselves and for musical teams to claim to be mediators to "bring the worshipers into the presence of god" is blasphemy.
Furtermore, singing erotic "praise songs" is a direct violation of Paul's demand that we sing the inspired "Word of Christ." It violates the Christ-centered claim and makes it a lie because it puts the composers and performers at the center and that is all the "audience" is going to see or hear. The Zoe principle as the incarnation of the Beast is that is what is intended.
Sophia and Zoe gave Sabaoth (The minor Jehovah) knowledge only after he worshiped them in song. They, in turn, gave the males musical worship teams to make sure that ZOE sat close by him to teach him and "rule over him" in church:
"The goal of Zoe is to provide resources to help God's people improve in the discipline (Branch of knowledge or learning) of worship.
Through the prophetic word, music, arts, drama and the gifts of God given to His people in every age it
is our prayer that excellence in the worship experience can be enhanced and improved, practiced and taught.Seminars, recordings, publications and internet communications are all means by which The Zoe Group expects to share a maturing vision of Christian worship.
The end-time Babylonian Whore will be led by music and commerce (Revelation 18). This is Mary worship because Mary is reincarnated as Eve or Zoe as the mediatrix between man and God.
Nope: With all due respect, this has no Biblical basis. The use of music, arts and drama have always been recognized as paganism and therefore idolatry. All of these are "the works of men's hands" and God spews it out of His "mouth."
The musical praise at the Feast of Tabernacles "was the last reminants of an ancient fertility cult." Musical performance in religion has been called "the idolatry of talent" and the "effeminate art." Too bad that the Holy Spirit did not furnish us completely for all good works! Now we have to develop a whole new "science" of "worship."
When this effeminant revivale was going on in Jerusalem the clergy was "standing in the gap" to defeat Jesus with musical instruments as Psalm 41 prophesied of Judas. See The Dead See Scroll and music to defeat Jesus the Word.
Prophetic means to have the power to reveal the mind of God. Indeed, people believe that if their own compositions are sentimental enough it must mean that they are inspired. This was why Amos condemned Israel for inventing their own music as a substitute for God's Word.
Again, we don't know what drives any person or group but the words tend to associate many groups who believe that God is revealing new messages to them.
Vineyard Pastor James Ryle claims that the Vineyard movement "spawned" Promise Keepers, In Hippo in the Garden (Creation House 1993). Ryle had a dream and heard the Lord tell him:
"I am about to do a strange, new thing in My church. It will be like a man bringing a hippopotamus (pig) into his garden. Think about that." ( p.259)
"God was telling him He was going to return "the power of His prophetic word by His Holy Spirit into churches that no longer have any place for it." (p. 261) Pastor Ryle continues: "Not only is the hippo in the garden the unusual thing God will do prophetically within His church, but it also heralds His release of a prophetic voice into the world through His church, bringing in a great last-days harvest." (p. 262) Ryle then quotes Acts 2:17-21 and says:
"A vast prophetic movement inspired by the Holy Spirit within the church in the midst of the world resulting in an evangelistic ingathering -- that is the `hippo in the garden.'" (p. 262)
Topheth was the "king's music grove" which came to stand for the everlasting fires of hell. The priests got a prophetic message by burning babies in the arms of Molech. It was prophesied that the harp of the king of Babylon and the Assyrians who were "the tallest trees in Eden" would go with him into the burning place and the sign would be that God would send musical instruments to escort him.
"To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be praise and honor and glory and power for ever and ever!"
Note: These people were not singing, contra NIV, they were "saying." which is lego " a systematic or set discourse... as opposed to a random harangue (which describes most praise music crying, "Lord, Lord.")
And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever. Revelation 5:13
Too bad, but the performance preaching and music seems to get between me and the throne! If I applaud the performers isn't the praise for the artists? You simply cannot think about two people at the same time: it wil be the team or God.
The music in the book of Revelation is for those who are dead, dead dead. For the living the message was to "preach the gospel." The living never play the harps in the toomb scenes. Therefore, the image is universal that music is symbolic of a people spiritually dead.
Pursuing Worship Renewal "God's people in every age have benefitted from the pursuit of worship renewal.Now, there is just no such evidence. God's people have universally been destroyed by legalists pursuing people by attractive idols and talent but this has been destructive because the "pursuit" is always through secular means such as music. The people in the Word didn't worship God or pursue Him by worship except at the Towers of Babylon by Nimrod and his musical worship teams. This is just made up out of thin air.
Our age is no different. Hearts that long to be in contact with the Living God will find meaningful ways to do so.
The mind or spirit is the dwelling place of Christ who is Spirit and full Deity (Col 2:0). Paul told the musical Athenians that they didn't have to chase Him down "He is not far from all of us." This "pursuit" is the "ascending and descending" rituals condemned by Paul. It is identical to the musical idolatry at Mount Sinai where the people silenced God and turned back to their old Egyptian worship which was female and music oriented. God is pure or holy Spirit and He is contacted in our mind or Spirit. He does not speak in the 'whirlwinds, fires or earthquakes' of performance but He is heard according to Karen Armstrong "in the voice of a whispered silence." When people "perform" trying to chase God down in noise they are just standing between God and His people and quenching the Spirit and stopping all possible worship. Music is not worship. Machines were the eternal homes of the 'demons' or 'gods' and when you make any kind of noise or motion trying to "conjure" up God you are just repeating the ancient soothsayers such as the witch of Endor whose "instrument" was an old, empty, hollow wineskin.
The pursuit for relationship in worship is God initiated. He chooses to "inhabit the praises of his people." Christ said to the woman at the well, "God is looking for worshipers". We must seek to be responsive to His initiatives.
Isn't there some disconnect between God seeking worshippers and people seeking or pursuing worship?
Jesus said that God only "seeks" those who know how to worship "in spirit" or in the mind and devoted to "truth" which is the Word of Christ (Col 3) or the Spirit (Eph 5).
God didn't really "settle out" or reside on top of Israel's praise. He inhabits eternity. Strange that the despised KJV is used as the out of context proof-text but other versions note that:
Yet you are enthroned as the Holy One; you are the praise of Israel Psalm 22:3NIV
........for you are holy.The praises of our fathers surrounded your throne; they trusted you and you delivered them. Psalm 22:3LIV
........ Our fathers trusted in thee: they trusted, and thou didst deliver them. Psalm 22:4KJVThis was not the "praise" or "Halal" David often used as a form of self praise to get God's attention. Rather, it is "laudation" or hymning God's righteous deeds. The only way to praise God is to tell others what He has done. This cannot be done by "Lord, Lord saying."
He is thy praise, and he is thy God, that hath done for thee these great and terrible things, which thine eyes have seen. Deuteronomy 10:21
The high and lofty One who inhabits eternity, the Holy One, says this: I live in that high and holy place
where those with contrite (crushed, not elevated), humble spirits dwell; and I refresh the humble (self debased) and give new courage to those with repentant hearts. Isaiah 57:15
Jesus died to remove the "burden" laded by the clergy. This burden was "spiritual anxiety created by religious ritual." The "rest" Christ died to give means: "Cool it. Come aside with me beside Piney creek and let's repose and get out of the blowing winds of the religionists." Now, "musical praise" works because it creates spiritual anxiety and injects a morphine-within "endorphin" so that you are not worshiping but getting on a drug high just like the people who use peyote buttons to get high.
I just don't see how you can raise the voice and hands and spill out all of that talent under the pretense of "helping the worshiper into the presence of God" and still be humble and contrite.
You know, even God Incarnate read the Scripture and had the common decency to sit down." You cannot "preside" over with your idolatry of talent and speak your words without repudiating the commands and examples of Jesus Christ.
Praise comes when we tell the lost about God's greateness. It is not something we do as a "worship ritual" facilitated by talented, rehearsed, wired-up octets. Christ died to get the doctors of the law who "took away the key to knowledge" off our backs laden with "anxiety created by religious ceremony." We are priests of God now able to move into God's presence, here and now without a mind manipulator imitating ancient pagan priests and priestesses:
But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God,
that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. 1 Peter.2:9
This is the work of the evangelist to go out and "sing the praises of God" through Jesus and show them how to get out of darkness. Using your own words as theatrical performance to your group is a direct violation of the command to preach to the lost.
Christ told the Samaritan woman that true worship was in the mind (spirit: see 1 Cor 2) and according to truth. It is not in temples with erect Asherah poles. Christ didn't say that he wanted "worship" but "worshipers" who understand that "the kingdom of God is within you."
Neither shall they say, Lo here or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you. Luke corinthians17:21
Musical terms always carry a harsh, abrasive, "grinding to bits" psychological attack upon man or God. The "praise" or halal of David was really a hostile form of self-boast trying to get God to notice him. The musical prophets of Baal were trying to musically, in Elijah's words, "get their god off the potty" to come help them. This is the grossest form of legalism:
What then shall we say? That the Gentiles, who did not pursue (persecute) righteousness, have obtained it, a righteousness that is by faith; Romans 9:30 (Faith makes little noise or self-boast)
but Israel, who pursued a law of righteousness, has not attained it. Romans 9:31
Why not? Because they pursued it not by faith but as if it were by works. They stumbled over the "stumbling stone." Romans 9:32
Trying to stalk or pursue God to force Him into your presence is rank legalism. Paul told the Athenians that their religion (music focused) was useless because God is not far from all of us. To make worship into a frenzied science trying to force worship has always been identified as works and not faith.
The clergy used music to become a stumbling block to Jesus in the Dead Sea Scrolls.

But, Jesus told the Samaritan woman that worship "in spirit" is not in your worship center nor my worship center. There can be no worship center without restoring paganism.

The Zoe concept of worship training may just be sincere efforts to create a "lively" or "exciting" worship ritual which is believed to be "spiritual." However, the name and the methodology is common to groups stretching from the secular world to truly neo-pagan patterns of "renewal."
Our challenge is not to the people or their motives; it is to the premises which are not based upon the Bible, the teachings of Christ or the history of the early church.
