John T. Willis credits Jo Bass as his high school mentor. Jo Bass used G. E. Jones' Baptist list of proof texts promoting the present Supernatural Guidance of THE Holy Spirit. Missing "prepositions 101a" most theologians SEE "The Spirit OF Go " or Christ as ANOTHER GOD which, they claim, is required to make the Words of the Father and Son gods INTELLIGIBLE
I have reviewed just a few of Jones-Jo Bass proof texts being used to ATTACK E.R. Harper as a FEMINIST attack on Scripture as the ONLY resource for Faith

1. Jesus does not pray for the World, Ecumenical or the kingdom of Satan trying to Silence or Steal from the Kingdom of God.
2. Jesus said that God HIDES from the Wise or Sophists: Self-authoring Hireling speakers, singer, singers or instrument players.
3. Jesus MARKED the Scribes and Pharisees as Hypocrites: Hireling speakers, singers or instrument players. In the Prophets by the Spirit OF Christ which means that "God puts His WORDS into the MOUTH of the Prophets.
4. The PROPHET Jesus of Nazareth defined Holy Scripture as the PROPHETS and other prophecies CONCERNING ME. The Scribe's records of an abandoned King, Kingdom, Priests, Levites, Animal Slaughter is defined as "the lying pen of the Scribes."
There is not a single Command, Example or Remote inference in Scripture or until after the Reformation with any godly people being called out of their REST (school only) for group singing with or without musical instruments defined as "machined for doing hard work.
The following Anti and Anti-Christ practices are all the RESULT of Singing with or without instruments. These sounds shut down the Masculine-Rational-Logos mine and takes control of the Feminine-Anti Logos or Anti-rational principle and Scripture and Recorded history proves that SOPHIA is Erotic, Musical, and Trinitarian based on the Babylon Triple Goddesses or Mother Goddess (can be male).
Women are to LEARN in SILENCE (along with men) so that we might all be SAFE and come to a knowledge of THE TRUTH or The Word, Logos or Regulative. Jesus died to make the Word FREE (Isaiah 55) and commanded that REST (never worship) made possible when no one seeks their own pleasure (music has no other role even thought being a Laded Burden) NOT Speaking YOUR OWN WORDS.
"Abomination, Witchcraft, the BEASTS, sorcery, Charming, Soothsaying, enchantment, harlots, beguile, serpents, vipers, Serpo, Herpo, inducing wine-dranking, Cunning Craftsmen or Sophists, Rhetoricians, Dogs or Catamites, Magic, Voodoo in primitive America Cane Ridge.
ALL CAUSED BY METRICAL OR TUNEFUL SOUNDS WHICH ASSAULTS the "Fight, Flight, Sexual Impulse" and is historically always defined as Purpose Driven Hurt.
David Young of North Boulevard intends to use FORCE to bring the kingdom patterned after the frontier awakenings and the Toronto Blessing. This is an old plot which was first outed almost 2 decades ago when the Laughing Exercises and the Jubilee hit Nashville.
A New Day | To spark a new flame in our faith
Hell BURNS with the need to WORK to bring the kingdom visible and audible.
Faith RESTS and comes before God in Silence knowing that no patternist plotter can save people into the School of Christ
Faith comes by HEARING and hearing by the WORD of God: that happens ONLY if the Elders as Christ's designated Pastor-teachers SILENCE all of the cunning craftsmanship which is also the word SOPHIST. The Sophists must be silent so that the School of Christ can silence everyone so that people can escape the SHOCK AND AWE and hear the Word PREACHED by being READ for Comfort, Doctrine and any discussion. Then WE and the YOU go about their own occupation because FAITH can only be determine by the FREE DISCIPLE and how THEY decide to let their faith operate in their private lives.
We noted that Jesus said that the Kingdom of God does not come with observation: That means that the Church as the educational part of the Kingdom with Jesus still king and high priest and only mediator or intercessor.
THE PAGAN THESIS ALWAYS REFUTED
THE CHRISTIAN ANTITHESIS: Give attendance (the worship word) to the WORD and not to the speaker or musician creationg civil war.Observātiō ōnis, observo, a watching, observance, investigation: observationes animadvertebant, your searches for evidence: siderum.— Circumspection, care, exactness: summa in bello movendo.
Religious observations are carefully crafted to take control of all of one's attention. That is the worship concept with is to be directed only to God.
Tendo: In the pagan religions they gave lots of attention to tuning or playing their musical instruments: cornu,” “barbiton,” to tune, “tympana tenta tonant palmis, stretching out their bow strings. To shoot, to hurl.

1Timothy 4:13 Till I come, give attendance [adtende] to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine.Because never in recorded history did PSALLO relate in any sense to MUSICAL MELODY Paul intends that we SPEAK the Word of God and sing and meditate on the Word of God.
1Timothy 4:14 Neglect not the gift that is in thee,
which was given thee by prophecy, [teaching]
with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery.
1Timothy 4:15 Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them;
that thy profiting may appear to all.
3191. meletao, mel-et-ah´-o; from a presumed derivative of 3199; to take care of, i.e. (by implication) revolve in the mind: — imagine, (pre-)meditate.

The BREATH or spirit informed Jesus WITHOUT METRON which means that nothing in the commanded Scriptures is in melody even in rhymic Prose: Real men SPEAK without being urged to sing, play, clap, shout, roll on the floor, bark at trees, hug or kiss everyone. When the Lord is in His Holy Temple (me) then everyone is commanded to be SILENT BEFORE HIM.

The REST or Greek PAUO has the same meaning as SABBATH which means REST: PAUSA means STOP the musical accompaniment and STOP THE MELODY. Psallo has never and can never mean MUSICAL MELODY and that is why Paul silenced the ODE and PSALLO which are the OPPOSITE to the Logos Words as the only thing COMMANDED in the never-musical passages.
ELDERS AND DEACONS ARE CHRIST'S ONLY ORDAINED PASTOR-TEACHERS OR MINISTERS IN A CHURCH OF CHRIST: if you extort money by the Law of Giving then God wants everyone to know that the EXTRA STAFF are called PARASITES.
Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for,
the evidence of things NOT seen.
God is not a PERSON but that Holy Spiririt or wholly sanctified singular being to which a disciple will hold in AWE meaning to bow in silence and let Him do the speaking.

But praise is confronted by greed, which is not accompanied by justice, but stirred up by depraved men, eager to babble and to bury the fine deeds of noble men. Since the sand of the shore is beyond all counting, [100] who could number all the joys that Theron has given others?Faith does not provide for

This takes hold upon a gentle and pure soul, arouses it and inspires it to songs and other poetry, and thus by adorning countless deeds of the ancients educates later generations. But he who without the divine madness comes to the doors of the Muses, confident that he will be a good poet by art, meets with no success, and the poetry of the sane man vanishes into nothingness before that of the inspired madmen.

Pol. 8.1341a but also only practised exercises not of that sort until they are able to enjoy beautiful tunes and rhythms, and not merely the charm common to all music, which even some lower animals enjoy, as well as a multitude of slaves and children. ...because after the Persian Wars they were filled with pride as a result of their achievements, they began to engage in all branches of learning, making no distinction but pursuing research further. Because of this they even included flute-playing among their studies; for in Sparta a certain chorus-leader played the flute to his chorus himself,3 and at Athens it became so fashionable that almost the majority of freemen went in for flute-playing, as is shown by the tablet erected by Thrasippus after having provided the chorus for Ecphantides. But later on it came to be disapproved of as a result of actual experience, when men were more capable of judging what music conduced to virtue and what did not;

VIOLATING THE PROPHETIC TYPE BY THE SPIRIT OF CHRIST:
Isa 42:1 BEHOLD my servant, whom I uphold; mine elect, in whom my soul delighteth; I have put my spirit upon him: he shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles.
From the Commentary on the Whole Bible (Jamieson, Fausset and Brown, 1871).
- "Messiah, as "the servant of Jehovah" (Isa 42:1), declares that the office has been assigned to Him of encouraging the "weary" exiles of Israel by "words in season" suited to their case; and that, whatever suffering it is to cost Himself, He does not shrink from it (Isa 50:5, 6), for that He knows His cause will triumph at last (Isa 50:7, 8).

Those who will not the forms obey
To be obliging in their way,
Must often punishment abide
For their ill-nature, and their pride.
A Grasshopper, in rank ill-will,
Was very loud and very shrill
Against a sapient Owl's repose,
Who was compelled by day to doze
Within a hollow oak's retreat,
As wont by night to quest for meat--
She is desired to hold her peace.
But at the word her cries increase;
Again requested to abate
Her noise..
The Grasshopper, extremely dry,
And, finding she had hit the key
That gain'd applause, approach'd with glee;
At which the Owl upon her flew,
And quick the trembling vixen slew.
Thus by her death she was adjudged
To give what in her life she grudged.

David Young of the North Boulevard Church of Christ and the Promoter of Revivalism with worship singing, clapping, playing instruments, hugging and kissing as a slick new TV program. The target is to raise 6 million dollars and establish 60,000 sister or daughter churches: for now, all will hear David Young reject the direct commandment from the wilderness onward to PREACH the Word by READING the Word while everyone else RESTS (Sabbath or Pauo) meaning STOP the rhetoric, singing, playing, clapping or other well-known burden laders to "create spiritual anxiety through religious rituals."
It is well documented history that the "slaves" became the masters of Cane Ridge: polythrymic hand clapping (secret DRUMMING) and the style of singing was mothered by voodoo and is identical to ancient and modern Babylonian Mother of Harlots (worship) Revelation 17-18.
David claims that they and he is led by A Holy Spirit Person which is blasphemy attributing what was always known as charismatic (erotic) insanity when God sent His WORD or LOGOS or the Regulative Principle specifically outlawing speaking on your own (marking the sons of the Devil) says Jesus, singing, playing instruments, drama or anything that stands between the WORD of Christ specificially in the Prophets and Apostles with the Spirit OF (a preposition) Christ Breathing Spirit (breath) on both.
The Revivals marked the turning point of victory of Black Music over the Word: their Drumming sessions had been outlawed by the LEADERS. So, they called themselve Methodists which pleased the masters and they perfected Polyrhymic Body Drumming or Hand Clapping. This created the same Shock and Awe but musicologists note that it derived from Voodoo as did Jazz and Rock and Roll that overtly sexual performance.
Scripture demands Rational or Spiritual worship devoted to the Word: in Romans12 Paul demands sacrificing the FLESH like burning it up so that the BODY never gets involved with worship IN THE SPIRIT as a place as opposed to worship IN THE FLESH. In Philippians 3 Paul warned that when you let the body get involved and moving the Dogs, Concision or Cynics will invade: that is what happened very early when the whiskey sellers and prostitutes forced the "revivals" to be shut down. This is exactly what happened when instrumental idolatry broke out at Mount Sinai and this profaning (music) the REST day caused an outbreak of devious practices. That is why elders are to sit down and shut up everyone so the Word can be PREACHED by being READ for Comfort and Doctrine.

What became The Church of Christ repudiated the wild revivals as history notes them as demonism or Devil Worship even today in Iraq by some "christians" if still alive.
This was the Beginning Worship of the Babylonian Harlot which Moses defined AFTER the Jacob-cursed and God-abandoned Levites as old Egyptian infant burning priests rose up to PLAY. I know of no instrumental discorder who can or perhaps is PERMITTED to read and understand what Stephen and Simple Simon who attended Synagogue-Ekklesia as a Christ (the Rock) ordained time and place as A School of the Word only while OUTLAWING the Alarm or Triumph over which is the mark of the enemy such as Judas using prophesied (Psalm 41) to try to derange Jesus and turn Him Coward so that He would not be able to fulfill his founding of the ONLY Purpose Driven Church of Christ.
The Vineyard or Wineskins DRIVING PURPOSE is to violate direct commands against all of the hypocritic arts and crafts to bring on charismatic (erotic, effeminate) acts of body worship to create a Climactic Experience with the Holy Spirit. Jesus said of the another Paraklete that I WILL COME TO YOU. Jesus retorned at Pentecost as promised and poured out what you see and hear. John in 1 John 2 says that the NAME of the Paraklete is "Jesus Christ the Righteous." He defined the only resource as the Prophets and Apostles. Peter says that private interpretation or further expounding is PROHIBITED because that would blaspheme the Holy Spirit OF Christ and would MARK a false teacher.
"Where there is no music, the spirit will not come." This West African proverb daily greets the divinity students in the Introduction to Preaching course taught by Brad R. Braxton, Assistant Professor of Homiletics and Biblical Studies at Wake Forest University. Explained Braxton,
"fundamentally, in African American worship, music serves the role of CONJURING God's spirit... [sorcery in Revelation 18]
When Black folks get together, they don't necessarily assume that God is there or that the conditions are ripe for God's presence to be manifest.
But rather, the conditions have to be made ready through fervent prayer and soul-stirring music. So, music creates the conditions for a meaningful encounter with God." Trevón D. Gross, Vice President for Programs and Partnerships of the American Bible Society (New York), says it another way,
"it is through music that we ASCEND and God DESCENDS." [At Babylon]
"Agreeing with the sentiment expressed by Gross, Cunningham asserts that churches exclusively using a hymnal can have a rousing worship experience facilitated [sorcery] by traditional gospel music. "You can take Because He Lives from the hymnal and make a person shed a lot of tears." How true. Lisa R. Foeman
"And Euripides does likewise, in his Bacchae, citing the Lydian usages at the same time with those of Phrygia, because of their similarity:
But ye who left Mt. Tmolus (Sardis was on this mt.), fortress of Lydia,
revel-band of mine, [WOMEN Always WOMEN whatever the sex says Christ in Isaiah 3]
whom I brought from the land of BARBARIANS as my assistants and travelling companions,
There are, it may be, so many kinds of voices in the world, and none of them is without signification. 1 Corinthians 14:10
Therefore if I know not the meaning of the voice,
I shall be unto him that speaketh a barbarian,
and he that speaketh shall be a barbarian unto me. 1 Corinthians 14:11uplift the tambourines native to Phrygian cities, inventions of mine and MOTHER Rhea.
And again, happy he who, blest man, initiated in the mystic rites, is pure in his life, . . . who, preserving the righteous ORGIES [wrath] of the great MOTHER Cybele, and brandishing the thyrsus on high, and wreathed with ivy, doth worship Dionysus.
Come, ye Bacchae, come, ye Bacchae, bringing down (double entendre) Bromius, (boisterous one) god the child of god, out of the Phrygian mountains into the broad highways of Greece.
Cane Ridge and Babylonian Parallels? The contrived revival at Cane Ridge has many Babylonian parallels with music and ritual preaching as the powerful change agent which brought on mental and emotional breakdown sold as conversion. While we can understand the urge to bring morals and ethics to the Kentucky Frontier through revivalism, later writers, including Stone, questioned whether it had done more harm than good. The charismatics went into holiness groups and even the Quakers; the more rational went with Campbell-taught churches.

Arnobius, Musical Mocking arnobius, instrumental music in worship,
"Mocking the belief that Mellonia introduces herself into the entrails, or Limentinus, and that they set themselves to make known what you seek to learn, Arnobius asks--
May it not happen, may it not come to pass, although you craftily conceal it, that the one should take the other's place, deluding, mocking, deceiving, and presenting the appearance of the deity invoked? If the magi, who are so much akin to soothsayers, relate that, in their incantations,
pretend gods steal in frequently instead of those invoked; that some of these, moreover, are spirits of grosser substance, who pretend that they are gods, and delude the ignorant by their lies and deceit." (Arnobius Against the Heathen, Ante-Nicene, VI, p. 479).The low level of church attendance before Cane Ridge and after is used to prove its worth. However, it is a fact that my inlaws came in through the Ohio River and my ancestors came in with Daniel Boone selling (and selling and reselling) land in the Lexington area. They were churchmen and church builders in Virginia and Kentucky.
The low level of morality in the wild frontier clearly explains how people could be momentarily could be spooked into what Scripture and recorded history defines as sorcery or witchcraft. The direct command is to PREACH the Word by READING the Word for Comfort and Doctrine. Jesus came to seek and save lost spirits. The Gospel is the only POWER to bring salvation and the gospel Jesus and others preached was the Gospel of the Kingsom or Church of Christ. The Gospel promise if for an ekklesia or synagogue defined as an UMBRELLA to shelter the lost spirits ia made into A holy spirit and translated into a Heavenly Kingdom. Jesus said that the Kingdom is within and DOES NOT COME with observation: that means RELIGIOUS WORSHIP SERVICES fueled by anything but the spoken WORD.
The so-called Awakenings were CONTRIVED by what in the Scriptures, secular literature and church history were identified as SORCERY or WITCHCRAFT: which means using any method beyond PREACHING the Word by READING the Word for Comfort and Doctrine.
The answer, of course, was that in addition to performing the sympathetic magic such as music, you also had to feed the god by offering sacrifices--which the priests ate.
Mercury (Logos, word), also, has been named as though he were a kind of go-between; (mediator) and because conversation passes between two speakers, and is exchanged by them, that which is expressed by this name has been produced.
If this, then, is the case, Mercury is not the name of a god,
but of speech and words exchanged by persons." (Arnobius Against the Heathen, Ante-Nicene, VI, p. 472).Arnobius, Musical Mocking arnobius, instrumental music in worship,

"Philodemus considered it paradoxical that music should be regarded as veneration of the gods while musicians were paid for performing this so-called veneration. Again, Philodemus held as self deceptive the view that music mediated religious ecstasy. He saw the entire condition induced by the noise of cymbals and tambourines as a disturbance of the spirit.
He found it significant that, on the whole, only women and effeminate men fell into this folly.
Accordingly, nothing of value could be attributed to music; it was no more than a slave of the sensation of pleasure, which satisfied much in the same way that food and drink did.
"Now, many a man from the false religions, which are not ashamed of criticising what is noble, will ask: how can there be a feast without carousing and overeating, without the pleasant company of hosts and guests, without quantities of unmixed wine, without richly set tables and highly stacked provisions of everything that pertains to a banquet, without pageantry and jokes,
bantering and merry-making to the accompaniment of flutes and citharas, the sound of drums and cymbals and other effeminate and frivolous music of every king,
enkindling unbridled lusts with the help of the sense of hearing. For in and through the same [pleasures] those persons openly seek their joy, for what true joy is their they do not know.
THE LEVITE SORCERERS WERE STAR AND FIRE WORSHIPERS.
Fires were then built in the middle of these scaffolds of dry wood, and thus a good light was afforded to the whole congregation. The stand was furnished with candles. I highly enjoyed the meeting. It was a great pleasure to me to hear the other men, and leaders in the worship, sing and pray, and preach the Word, and also to sit at their feet in the private circle and hear them converse about the things of God - the interests of the cause in which we were engaged. On Sunday night Bro. Watson Clarke and I were appointed to deliver our trial speeches before the conference and the large audience present. Bro. Clarke was to be the preacher and I the exhorter.
It was a great trial to me to speak upon any occasion, but doubly so to speak before such an assembly of preachers, several of them men of age, ability and learning. Bro. Clarke preached without, as I thought, much embarrassment. I sat behind him trembling with fear. He closed, and with my heart fluttering with agitation I arose and commenced my exhortation.
Very few present had ever heard me. I have no recollection of what I said, as I had nothing specially prepared. I was young, beardless, ignorant, but my heart was full of the great theme of redemption.
So it was, I had not spoken long till the whole camp was ablaze of feeling. The first thing I knew David Purviance and David Wallace were dancing behind me in the stand, shouting at the top of their voices.
And in a few minutes the entire area before the stand was filled with men and women dancing and shouting.
The result was I was silenced and gave place to the preachers and people to carry on the meeting as seemed good to them. I had not attempted to preach, but I received license at that conference to exercise my talents in "such way as God may direct."
Does any say, "This was all very disgusting and there could have been no piety there?" This is very hasty and ill-judged.
The times and views of the people then were very different from what they are now.
We have more light on some important practical subjects than they had, but I doubt if we have as much piety or spirituality. If they were upon the extreme of enthusiasm, we are on the extreme of cold formality.
Describing music at Cane Ridge, Conkin notes that:
"Sinners dropping down on every hand, shrieking, groaning, crying for mercy, convoluted; professors of religion praying, agonizing, fainting, falling down in distress, for sinners, or in raptures of joy!
Some singing, some shouting, clapping their hands, hugging and even kissing, laughing; others talking to the distressed, to one another, or to opposers of the work, and all this at once--no spectacle can recite a stronger sensation.
And with what is doing, the darkness of the night, the solemnity of the place, and of the occasion, and conscious guilt, all conspire to make terror thrill through every power of the soul, and rouse it to awful attention." (Letter quoted by Conkin, Cane Ridge, p. 93-94).
"Soon the sheer confusion practically subverted the outdoor preaching. Small groups joined in prayer or in loud hymn singing, with singing the most enjoyable group activity and the one that often most affected an audience... More conventional shouts and groans joined with a near babble of speech, some incoherent, some later distinguished as holy laughter or singing." (Conkin, p. 94).
Churches of Christ were not part of that effort which Alexander Campbell defined as madness:
The revival was known for manifestations of the spirit such as people falling down, laughing, crying, shaking, trances and all sorts of powerful spiritual experiences. People who attended where often overwhelmed by the intensity of the joyful manifestations. Devereux Jarratt said that the meetings seemed more like a ”Drunken rabble, than the worshippers of God.”LIVES WERE CHANGED UNTIL THE SORCERY OR HYPNOSIS WORE OFF: When people understood that they had been duped by self-seeking tyrants, they often never gave any church a chance.
‘Then the tumultuous bodily ‘exercises’ began. Along with the shouting and crying, some began falling. Some experienced only weakened knees or a light head (including Governor James Garrard). Others fell but remained conscious or talkative; a few fell into a deep coma, displaying the symptoms of a grand mal seizure or a type of hysteria. Though only a minority fell, some parts of the grounds were strewn like a battlefield” – Richard McNemar
The common people were deeply affected, and, as at the Gasper River meeting, strong emotional responses were considered proofs of conversion. Often these produced strange physical manifestations – some people fainted and fell to the ground (they were “slain in the spirit”) or suffered uncontrollable shaking (“the jerks”). There was dancing, running and singing – all of which Stone said were manifestations of God’s presence. The noise of the meetings was so great that some said “the noise was like the roar of Niagara.”
These early revivalists would call spiritual experiences ‘exercises’ as they had no clue what to call them. These manifestations are found in almost all revivals, including the recent “The Toronto Outpouring”. Many have claimed that these are ‘new’ and ‘weird’ manifestations and we should be concerned.
