ACU-Lectures 2003: Jack Reese and The Taize Folkish Worship
Jack Reese: ACU Lectures 2003 Taize Worship IntroductionTitle: "Out of the Quiet; Taize Worship as a source of Renewal and Reconciliation (Part I). "The river of worship renewal should be fed by many streams. This class will explore the possibilities for renewal emerging from the Taize movement, an international fellowship committed to simplicity, confession, and reconciliation. Come learn about and experience the ancient yet contemporary worship that characterizes the Taize movement."
Taize seems to be primarily a women's movement by those who do not take vows. All of the sowing of Discord such as music and rhetorical or performance preaching is the product of the FEMINIST or GAY movement.
In another chapter of this review we will see that MUSIC and MUSICIANS projected the same image as today.
The Taize movement is a FOLKISH movement promoted by "mother" Teresa and other Catholic movements. The Cursilo or Walk to Emmaus was also an EVANGELISM tool of the Catholic and "sister" churches to bring about a ONE WORLD GOVERNMENT and a ONE WORLD CHURCH under the skirts of the Pope, of course.
The Jubilee, too, was a DITTO HEAD response to the Pope's call for Jubilee 2000 when all of the pagans and Masons would be killed to bring about a one world church.
We will show you that the desire to WEAR OUT THE SAINTS by OUTING one feminist of effeminate movement after another is positively MARKED by people who have 'visualized' the coming of the Lord. They know that the Bible, The Greek world, church Fathers and denominational founders define them as HYPOCRITES as a TRADE of sexual deviation by PARASITES. The Greek world includes all INSTRUMENTALISTS as PARASITES along with trained rhetoricians, singers and others who CONTRIBUTE nothing but division.
Chapter X. Theatrical Performance and Religion
Let us pass on now to theatrical exhibitions, which we have already shown have a common origin with the circus, and bear like idolatrous designations-even as from the first they have borne the name of "Ludi," and equally minister to idols.
They resemble each other also in their pomp, having the same procession to the scene of their display from temples and altars, and that mournful profusion of incense and blood,
with music of pipes and trumpets,
all under the direction of the soothsayer and the undertaker,
those two foul masters of funeral rites and sacrifices.
When Jesus CAST OUT the musical worship team it was "more or less violently" using a word meaning "as one casts out dung."
Aristotle, Athenian Constitution
L. These then are the matters administered by the Council. Also ten men are elected by lot as Restorers of Temples, who draw 30 minae1 from the Receivers and repair the temples that most require it; and ten City Controllers, [2]
five of whom hold office in Peiraeus and five in the city;
it is they who supervise the flute-girls and harp-girls and lyre-girls to prevent their receiving fees of more than two drachmas,
and if several persons want to take the same girl these officials cast lots between them and hire her out to the winner.
And they keep watch to prevent any scavenger from depositing ordure (dung) within a mile and a quarter of the wall;
and they prevent the construction of buildings encroaching on and balconies overhanging the roads, of overhead conduits with an overflow into the road, and of windows opening outward on to the road;
and they remove for burial the bodies of persons who die on the roads, having public slaves for this service.
See Aristot. Ath. Pol. 7.3. A drachma (say 9 1/2d. or 1 franc) was a hundredth part of a mina (say 4 pounds.)
The NEW STYLE paganism and worship simply cannot work without first DESTROYING THE BIBLE. Therefore, before the church can be brought into a ONE WORLD CHURCH under the Holy Whore, everyone must be forced to worship LIKE THE PAGANS.
The absolute sign is that women have grasped control of universities and churches and USE their male, emasculated priesthood to carry out the revival of GODDESS WORSHIP which necessarily includes a polluted form of worship.
THE SAME BIBLICAL FACT WHICH IS REMOVING FAITHFUL CHURCHES AS A VENUE FOR "DOCTORS OF THE LAW" DEFINED BY JESUS AS PARASITES BECAUSE THEY TOOK AWAY THE KEY TO KNOWLEDGE, FORCES RHETORICIANS OR SOPHISTS TO BE OUTED AS HYPOCRITES (PERFORMERS) OR PARASITES.
THE ONLY CURE for the ACU-Lectures 2003 IS TO TRY TO MAKE A PLACE FOR THOSE WHOM THE BIBLE AND GREEK LITERATURE EQUALLY PARASITIC IN THE MAINSTREAM:
"Of particular interest is the way that early modern playwrights, music theorists, and theater apologists addressed this conflated language of the "enemy," by echoing the same connections between sexuality and playing found in the most virulent antitheatrical tracts. As this paper will demonstrate, by "playing" with the conflated language, these writers defended their art,
justifying their existence in a society that was both seduced and repulsed by them. By claiming the polemical antitheatrical language, these players escaped from the ideological margins to which their opponents had tried to relegate them.
Using the artifices of mimesis (imitation) and comedy they pointed out and
defused their opponents' anxieties about music, theater, and sexuality, creating a space for players in the cultural mainstream." Resource
But the OCCUPATION Of Hypocrite, Rhetorician or Sophist was always identified as PARASITES:

1 Parasites of elm-twigs: He alludes to the propensity of Parasites for devouring to the bone all who came in their way.
2 Performing a sacrifice: It was the custom, while private person were sacrificing to the Lares or household Gods, to have music performed upon the harp or the pipe.
This is prophetic:
Thus he said, The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be diverse from all kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces. Daniel 7:23
And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise: and another shall rise after them; and he shall be diverse from the first, and he shall subdue three kings. Daniel 7:24
And he shall speak great words against the most High,
and shall wear out the saints of the most High,
and think to change times and laws:
and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time. Daniel 7:25
Wear out means:
Bela (h1080) bel-aw'; corresp. to 1086 (but used only in a mental sense); to afflict: - wear out.
Balah (h1086) baw-law'; a prim. root; to fail; by impl. to wear out, decay (caus. consume, spend): - consume, enjoy long, become (make, wax) old, spend, waste.

The Taize and the Folk movements
At first the spirituality of unity spread within the Catholic Church. From 1958 on Christians of other traditions began to come in contact with the Focolare and to feel that its spirituality was also for them.
For a united world
"That all may be one," the goal towards which the Focolare wants to give its contribution, has attracted many young people on every continent who live and work for a united world. Meeting with 18,000 of these youth on March 31, 1990,Pope John Paul II spoke of a united world as "the great expectation of today's humanity, the great challenge of our future."
Some background and FELLOW TRAVELERS of the Taize Movement.
"In the current religious world of the New Age, there are also the important efforts and movements inside the individual great religions and communities strongly represented, especially on the ground of the world religions.
Thus, the old notion of St. Augustine, who understood that religion is a "semper reformanda" (permanently renewing) is realized. Even today, it exists within many religious and amateur movements, where some go over the framework of traditional religions:
e.g., such as the Fokolarij movement of Klara Lubich, the charismatic renewal, the Christianity of Love and Family, or the Congregation of the Mission Sisters (The Servants of the Holy Spirit), and others.
The young Christian Taize movement became known around the world - the name originating from the location in France where repeated meetings were held.
The Taize movement is primarily trying to deepen and to permanently enrich Christian spiritual life.
Very helpful is the work and involvement of Sister Mother Theresa, known as The Missionary Love.
She was originally known as Agnes, born in 1910 in Albania, and is currently active in India working with lepers and among the poorest of all inhabitants of India.
Her mission started on September 10, 1946 in the city of Darjeeling where she had returned every year for mass and thanksgiving.
There she heard the God's calling and devoted her entire life to the service of the poorest and most wretched.
She received papal consecration as early as 1948, and in 1957 she built a modern leprosarium in Calcutta funded by charitable donations, and later also elsewhere in the country.
In 1971, she received the Papal Peace Prize, and in 1979 she received the Nobel Peace Prize. Finally in 1983, the Queen of England recognized her with the highest British medal for achievement with the words:
"Her humanity is the highest form of religious belief, it is the light that will never disappear. Mother Theresa is a woman of God who managed to put Christian love in life again."
Currently, one of the most important events within the Roman-Catholic Church is the decade of the spiritual renewal of the church, a decade of the renewal of the nation, and a worldwide decade of evangelism: 1990 - 2000. This is supplemented by the ecumenical movement initiated by the World Protestant Church in Geneva.
"Today, some more important religions of the New Age may be included in the religious center, especially those trying to integrate and unify the individual teachings, churches, and religions.
Currently, the most represented is the Church of Unity or the International Movement for Unity and World Peace, the Church of Scientology, and other religious societies.
Among them, there is the movement of unitarians and universalists and others. We may even suppose that the universal religion and religious movement will further gain strong development in the beginning of the 21st century, and will become the important unifying element in the world.
It is a movement, not only religious and humanitarian, emphasizing not only the theories and teachings, but primarily an utilitarian one.
Most movements in the religious left may again be differentiated as the movements closer to the center or movements in the center (e.g., the movement of Hare Krishna, Jehovah's Witnesses, and others),
as movements of rather extreme left that already depart the platform of religious thinking, or only pretended to do so , or represent its opposite (e.g., satanists, atheists, non-believers).
We can prove that MUSIC as worship originated with Satan or Lucifer. He led the fallen angels and appeared in the garden of Eden as the NACHASH or MUSICAL ENCHANTER. The goal is to WHOLLY SEDUCE in a perverted way.
These alternatives on the left may temporarily and locally gain a greater number of supporters, however, their destiny is generally influenced by their unformed, limited, and extreme views.
Many of them stem from the protest and refusal to accept existing religious teachings and churches, especially oriented to those which are primarily orientated to the right.
It was the "kalokagatheia", a creation of a physical and spiritual harmony and their cultivation in the life of any individual.
Apollo or Abaddon or Apollyon unleashed the Locusts who had been MUSES cursed by the MOTHER GODDESS. They are unleased as MUSICAL PERFORMERS.
This ideal was again emphasized during the time of the Renaissance and lives today in the form of human ideals of people.
A new world at the end of the 20th century requires either an entirely new thinking and new approach to a person and the world, and new principles of world unification - in all spheres of life, thinking, and activities, the same as in the areas of science, arts, philosophy, and religion, or it must be cleaned, revived, and returned to original moral, philosophical, and religious ideals.
We can feel that today's principles of democracy are nonsufficient and are inadequately effective: the Christian code of the Ten Commandments is best created in the history of the human race, however, it is not binding on human beings - most people don't even know it nor do they respect it, and it is not an imperative for them.
Also some basic elements of the Christian faith that are based on original sin and the fall of man, on the immaculate conception of the Virgin Mary and her Marian cult, the interpretation of the most Secular Trinitarianism, and other theological teachings of the Roman-Catholic, orthodox, and other churches.
For man in the 21st century, it will be very difficult to accept it, understand it,
and provide new interpretation of the Christian religion, or enable man of the post-industrial society [to have] a more natural and more direct relationship and connection with God, divinity, and the spiritual world.
Even a new Catechism of Pope John Paul II, published in the end of 1992, suggests it.
Tomorrow requires a more secure system, theory, and practice.
However, is there something more effective and better than the Christian belief, hope, love, or ideas of humanism, democracy, etc.?
Are not the principles and basics of the lifelong and worldwide education and its application more important?
The fact that [we] find our knowledge in the past, i.e., especially in the past and only somewhat in the present and not in the future, is alarming.
The future world cannot be built only on the past and the present.
Human beings must care about the future world more and more. Human life makes sense only from the point of future, from the point of view of future generations and our descendants.
At the same time, it suggests a recognition that in this world we live not only for ourselves, but preferably for others.
It is not a coincidence that the new interpretation of man and
the new approach and the meaning of human life can be found not only within the Christian teachings and church,
but also in the ideas of the movement of Unity, Scientology, and Dianetics, in conscious universalism and in common ecumenical efforts for spiritual revival, the Taize movement, or the Fokolaric movement, Charismatic Revival, or in the efforts of the World Ecumenical Church.
If we succeed to build and realize these ideas from the point of view of science, the arts, and religion, as well as from the point of view of humanitarian ideals of people mentioned above, it will be possible to accomplish further physical and spiritual development of people on this planet even in the future. The Volkish State
"An historical precedent for a military-style political/religious movement such as Promise Keepers can be found in Germany during the 30's. According to author Richard Terrell in his provocative book, Resurrecting the Third Reich (Huntington House, 1994),
orthodox Christianity was supplanted by the German Völkish faith:
"What was to take possession of the German consciousness was a militant romanticism... According to this way of thinking,
the Divine Spirit is manifested in the spirit of a people,
in their collective genius and total culture or Völkgeist...
Germany developed a kind of communal mysticism which contained its own Teutonic concept of a chosen people,
called to redeem civilization from its decadence."
"Nazism arrived with the full trappings of a full-blown religion. Nazi rallies were
glorious pageants that stirred the emotions, which, according to Schleiermacher,
were the very well-springs of spiritual truth.
The faith to which Hitler called the German people
depended not on any revelation of Scripture, but on pure feeling.
"The Nazi mixture of flags, rich and heroic music (especially that of the fanatically anti-Semitic genius Richard Wagner),
and the message of national destiny had the effect of religious festivals.
Terrell describes the advent of this full-blown religion:
"The Völkish concept of the social organism (ministeries) was effectively symbolised in mass meetings that expressed a sense of eternity, awe, and mystery, effects stimulated by a "cathedral of light" nighttime mass meetings in which antiaircraft lights sent brilliant shafts of illumination into the darkened sky. In his speeches,
Hitler would frequently characterize his career in politics as a divine calling led by God
and insisted that nazism was more than just a social movement.
It was a total worldview, a spirituality, supported by an energetic use of
traditional religious words that had, however,
become detached from their orthodox, historic meanings. His references to a "thousand year Reich" carried the ring of the biblical millennium."
"THE folkish state, a general picture of which I have attempted to draw in broad outlines, will not be realized by the mere knowledge of what is necessary to this state. It is not enough to know how a folkish state should look. Far more important is the program for its creation.
We may not expect the present parties, which after all are primarily beneficiaries of the present state,
to arrive of their own accord at a change of orientation and of their own free will to modify their present attitude. Hitler, Mein Kampf
"It must pick out certain ideas from its general world picture and clad them in a form which, in its precise, slogan-like brevity, seems suited to serve as a creed for a new community of men.
While the program of a solely political party is the formula for a healthy outcome of the next elections,
the program of a philosophy is the formulation of a declaration of war against the existing order against a definite state of affairs; in short, against an existing view of life in general.
[success] lies in the nature of an organization that it can only exist
if a broad mass, with a more emotional attitude, [human material]
serves a high intellectual leadership.
Machiavelli, in The Prince, gives the tipoff to tell the difference between reformation or restoration and a totally new system:The difficulties they have in acquiring it arise in part from
- the new rules and methods which they are forced to introduce to establish their government and its security.
- And it ought to be remembered that there is nothing more difficult to take in hand, more perilous to conduct, or more uncertain in its success,
"Taize" ('tey-zey'): The mother and daughter sat, prayed and chanted before an altar lit with opulent white candles and adorned with a portrait of Jesus Christ, a cross and flowers.
"I really get a lot out of the (Taize) service. It helps me to cope with the goings-on of everyday life," Jacquie Spaulding said. "I carry the (Taize) with me. The prayers and chants follow me wherever I go."
Each fourth Thursday, the Rev. Ellen Nolte offers the Taize service, called an intimate relationship or an experience of communion with Christ.
The ecumenical service consists of repetitive prayers and personal reflections on one hand, and an experience of communion and solidarity among people on the other. It's a stress-reliever for many more.
"The service is one of healing and has proven to be helpful to others," Nolte said.
"Sometimes we have only five and other times about 15 or more. It does prove to help in healing," said Nolte after reflecting on her August service, where she led the Spauldings and 30 others gathered at her church's sanctuary.
Vicki Enderby of Dunlap said the Taize meditations and chants help her as she deals with the stresses of her job in a Peoria insurance underwriting department.
"I look forward to Taize. It's a time to let go of all my worldly events and spend time meditating on God and Jesus Christ, you know, meditating on what is really important," Enderby said. "The Taize is something that follows me for several weeks."
Once the Taize prayer has begun, there are no technical announcements, explanations or interruptions, Nolte said.
The meditative worship, which takes about 45 minutes, includes chants and songs sung between scripture readings.
Nolte says she began local Taize services after her initial experience at one the day after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.
"I'll never forget it. That service was a large gathering in a Gothic church. There were several hundred people in attendance. The service was very dramatic, powerful and moving. It was something I wanted to bring back to our church," Nolte said. Resource
