Amos 5 condemnes Instrumental Music
Rick Atchley and others deny that instrumental music was condemned in Amos 5. Stephen in Acts 7 proves that the Israelites lived under the CURSE of the Law imposed because of musical idolatry. Israel according to Amos was continuing the PLAY or musical worship of the triad at Mount Sinai.
Anyone who CLAIMS that Amos does not condemn instrumental music in worship and that he was just condemning a BAD MENTAL attitude does not have the mental machinery or wish to know the truth. It is this very unlearned view of the Bible which is the FOUNDATION upon which people introduce instruments based on THERE IS NO LAW WHICH SAITH "THOU SHALT NOT USE INSTRUMENTS IN CHURCH." So THEY are the only ones who uses the LAW OF SILENCE and that makes them LEGALISTS as all of the music words prove.
Rick Atchley says that no honest person could read the Bible and find any condemnation of INSTRUMENTAL PRAISE. I say that someone has NEVER READ the Bible. Only those who have rejected love for TRUTH and who have been deluded with blindness and deafness could read the Bible and find nothing because it is not written in Braile: Jesus says that it is all written in PARABLES to fool the fools who USE the Word like weapons for their on profit. Isaiah 48 defines WHY?
One of the curses was that the KING would take the boys to make INSTRUMENTS OF CHARIOTS which includes MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS to run before his and the warrior's chariots like any oriental despot usurping the role of God. God also began to carry out the captivity and death sentence and the kings WERE CHOSEN to do that and not do TEMPLE WORSHIP.

Jesus told the clergy that truth had been hidden in parables from the foundation of the world. This was to hide the truth from those who CORRUPT the Word in Peter's words which means "sell learning at retail." Peter and all musical concepts connects it to spiritual and literal fornication. The word SERPENT, for instance, in Genesis means a MUSICAL ENCHANTER. That is why the king of Tyre was compared to the singing and harp playing prostitute, Lucifer, in the garden of Eden. The word COW is often used in The Book of Enoch which proves that the MUSICAL SEDUCERS are those for whom God will come to execute judgment. Bashan speaks of the women who are at the root of all ritualistic music--using their effeminante male clergy:The Lord God hath sworn by his holiness, that, lo, the days shall come upon you, that he will take you away with hooks, and your posterity with fishhooks. Amos 4:2

When most biblical scholars studied Hebrew philology they were told that "Bashan" denoted a mountain east of the Kinnereth (the Sea of Galilee). Now, Acts 7, which they missed, has Stephen identifying as liars those who say that the music was not a problem: "they just had a BAD MENTAL ATTITUDE." Sure, father and son go to the same temple prostitute is just a BAD MENTAL ATTITUDE. Taking up MANY offerings so the wives could have more WINE.

This was The Book of the Covenant which was a covenant of grace like the Abrahamic Covenant: it had no mandatory sacrifices, no priesthod and assuredly no music. In Galatians, Paul LEAPFROGS all of the CURSE OF THE LAW period which legislated for the lawless and returns to Abraham for the promise made BY the Spirit OF Christ.

Rick is violating the direct command against MAKING MERRY which points direct to singing which always means enchantment or in John's revelation SORCERY.

One word defines both WEAPON and MUSICAL INSTRUMENT. In Paul's Writing a LIFELESS INSTRUMENT and a CARNAL WEAPON have the same meaning: none work against principalities and powers in high places (pulpits).

This "rising up to play" involved eating, drinking, nakedness and musical worship. The goddess, Hathor, is the best candidate for the Mother Goddess of the Mount Sinai idolatry. Here priestessess or prophetesses were highly trained with musical instruments, cultic songs and be able to join in the religious dance.
This is what they REPEATED in Amos, Isaiah, Ezekiel and other places: Sure, Rick Atchley etal BELIEVE that they can RISE UP TO PLAY because God COMMANDS INSTRUMENTAL PRAISE.

Amos and Stephen show that God TURNS YOU OVER to that which you USE as idolatry. Being the Spirit OF Christ led Amos could have said: "I hate your bad mental attitude. I love your singing but you are not sincere." He did not, but:
Amos 5:21 I hate, I despise your feast days, and I will not smell in your solemn assemblies.
Amos 5:22 Though ye offer me burnt offerings and your meat offerings, I will not accept them: neither will I regard the peace offerings of your fat beasts.
Amos 5:23 Take thou away from me the noise of thy songs; for I will not hear the melody of thy viols.
Notice that we have noisy SONGS in addition to MELODY and the INSTRUMENT must be named if intended

"In pagan traditions, musical instruments are invented by gods or demi-gods, such as titans. In the Bible, credit is assigned to antediluvian patriarchs, for example, the descendants of Cain in Genesis 4:21. There is no other biblical tradition about the invention of musical instruments." "The normal order of events was a meal, followed by a drinking party. Entertainment might include anything from a rhetorcian or philosopher discoursing on some topic, to musical entertainment, to sexual dalliance."
"Plutarch implicitly contrasts a serious dinner featuring a sage as the after-dinner speaker with the other sorts of dinners--where sexual play with the girl flute-players or hetairae was common." (Witherington, Ben, Why Not Idol Meat, Bible Review, June 1994, p. 41-42).
Plutarch also defines the Psallo PLUCKING which is the authority of the Legalist Instrumentalists and it always involves older males plucking the harp string to seduce a young boy. Amos did not say MAKE MUSIC and fornicate in the temple BUT HAVE A GOOD MENTAL ATTITUDE. He used the word BUT meaning INSTEAD OF:
Amos 5:24 BUT, let judgment run down as waters, and righteousness as a mighty stream.
Amos 5:25 Have ye offered unto me sacrifices and offerings in the wilderness forty years, O house of Israel?
The Book of the Covenant of Grace did not make sacrifices mandatory. Therefore, God had not commanded any form of ritual other than hearing His Word. When they sacrificed animals this was a blood lust which develops when you get into the habit of killing innocent animals and cannot stop. When God turned the over to this the were--like all pagans--ritually murdering their king or god.
Amos 6:1 WOE to them that are at ease in Zion, and trust in the mountain of Samaria, which are named chief of the nations, to whom the house of Israel came
Amos 6:4 That lie upon beds of ivory, and stretch themselves upon their couches, and eat the lambs out of the flock, and the calves out of the midst of the stall;
Amos 6:5 That chant to the sound of the viol, and invent to themselves instruments of musick, like David;
Again, David was KING: one of those selected to carry out the death and captivity sentence when the ELDERS fired God and his Word and demanded 'SET A POPULAR PREACHER OVER US' so we can WORSHIP like the pagans.
From Rick Atchley's take on Psalm 45 he seems to suggest that this was ANTICIPATING what Jesus and Christians would do.

David was king and the singer--musicians were under the KING and COMMANDERS OF THE ARMY: David never SANG or PLAYED as worship leader in the TEMPLE. Not even the Levites could enter the Holy Place on penalty of death. The proof is that David SINNED but was forgiven for entering the Holy Place when he was starving. The pagans in Amos sang and played IN THE TEMPLE. See the difference? The hard bondage (labor) sacrificial musicians were OUTSIDE and never in the covered part of the Temple. If you will, Rick Atchley can bring his musicians to the PARKING LOT if he decides to BARBECUE A PIG to replace the Lord's Supper:

NOR could they drink WINE in the temple but they did. Bad mental attitude or sin?
Amos 6:6 That drink wine in bowls, and anoint themselves with the chief ointments: but they are not grieved for the affliction of Joseph.
Most scholars note that it is the FORM which they acted out their worship: Their musical idolatry was CAUSED by their idolatrous spirit. This is quite identical to the musical idolatry at Mount sinai TO WHICH God had abandoned them BECAUSE of musical idolatry. How canany preacher not see that this was more than a bad attitude but the CURSE being worked out first and then in Judah.
However, too many false preachers treat this as NOTHING WRONG WITH THEIR WORSHIP: they just had a bad mental attitude. The fact is that they were sinning in MUSICAL IDOLATRY and this was a MARK that they just did not care what happened to the nation as long as the "preacher and their wives" collected their "fat from the sacrifice."
Amos 6:7 Therefore now shall they go captive with the first that go captive, and the banquet of them that stretched themselves shall be removed.
The book of Revelation where John used Apollo and his Muses or LOCUSTS as musical performers and called the SORCERERS, the message is that the Musical Locusts have really taken whole congregations CAPTIVE. All music is a form of torture or creating PANIC which the HIRELINGS can traffic as THE SPIRIT inside.
The Mirzach and the pagan Agapae were similar involving things like drinking menstrual fluids. The early church tried the Agapae as feeding the DESTITUTE every morning as they went out seeking work. Paul commanded Timothy to LABOR and practice this.

This is Rick Atchley's defense for INSTRUMENTAL PRAISE when Jesus meets to be our TEACHER through the WORD (only) and His REST means: "STOP the singing, preaching, instruments."

This is why they went in MUSICAL PROCESSIONS to Jerusalem: to worship Satan with music and children. That is why Isaiah 30 proves that hell was PREPARED for musical "ritualists":

God promised David a house in the sense of a family: David assumed that he had the authority to build a TEMPLE or a house in a pemanent sense. God had given David a Jebusite High Place and david adopted the pagan system.
