WHAT FOLLOWS IS A REVIEW THE BIBLE OR THEOLOGY FACULTIES' PUBLISHED VIEWS AND THEREFORE THE CURRICULUM.
We would hope that an educator will make certain that Holy Scripture must be taught as written as The Last Will and Testament of Jesus Christ.
John mark Hicks perhaps taunts when he said that David Lipscomb may be turning over in his grave. In fact, based on hicks etal, there has been a massive TURNING OVER of the ownership of institutions and congregations.
MOCKING ALL WRITTEN HOLY SCRIPTURE, JOHN MARK HICKS SEEMS TO JOKE ABOUT---
"In the summer and fall of 1889, the two friends spent many long nights at Lipscomb’s farmhouse, developing their vision to establish a school that offered a rigorous and challenging academic education in a Christian context. "They did not want it to be a “preacher” school, nor a seminary. Instead, they wanted it to be a place where the most useful academics would be taught alongside Bible study and opportunities for personal interactions with Scripture, rooted in the Church of Christ"
ALL OF THE BIBLICAL AND HISTORICAL UNDERSTANDING OF THE LIMITS OF PROCLAMATION IS;
We have this passage in Greek, Latin and English. This is what God's appointed SCRIBES wrote to completion.
Little Simple Simon could read that text while attending Synagogue School beginning at about aged 5.
Those letters and words did not change when the Theologians hatched up a SHIFT about the time they went to college.
Theologians claim that the History-Approved text is just the LETTER.
However, suddenly the SPIRIT expired and only trained HIRELINGS can tell you what the Spirit WOULD have inspired IF he lived in OUR CHANGED CULTURE.
Note Stephen Lawson: Scripture rejects HISTORY and the needs of our Culture's CONTINGENCY
WE LAUGH OUT LOUD AND HISS BECAUSE WE LIVED THROUGH THE SAME SHIFT AND HAVE NO TROUBLE READING.
WE WARN EVERYONE, JESUS AND THE WRITERS SAY THAT IF YOU DON'T LOVE THE WORD LEFT FOR OUR "MEMORY" GOD SENDS YOU STRONG DELUSIONS SO THAT YOU WILL NEVER BE ABLE TO CONFESS AGAIN.

Acts 13:15 And after the READING of the law and the PROPHETS

BEING REVIEWED.
Act Three: Incarnational Presence (Logos in the flesh).
logos is God's WORD or WORDS. In the BT era we not too bright kids learned that WORD means what God or man WRITES or SPEAKS.
2Tim. 4:2 Preach the WORD; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.
Paul was too literate to write "preach the GOD".
Rom. 10:8 But what saith it? The WORD is nigh thee,
even in thy MOUTH, and in thy heart: that is,
the WORD OF FAITH, which we PREAC;
Paul was too literate to write "preach the GOD".
RHEMA is the WORD spoken
John 6:63 It is the SPIRIT that quickeneth;
the flesh profiteth nothing:
The WORDS that I SPEAK unto you,
they are SPIRIT, and they are life.
John 6:64 But there are some of you that believe not.
For Jesus knew from the beginning
who they were that believed not, and who should betray him.
John 6:65 And he said, Therefore said I unto you,
that no man can come unto me,
except it were given unto him of my Father
1John 1:1 That which was from the beginning, which we have heard,
which we have seen with our eyes,
which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled,
of the Word OF LIFE
1John 1:2 (For the life was manifested, and we have seen IT, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;)
John 5:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.
John 5:25 Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live.
John 5:26 For as the Father hath life in himself;
so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself;
John 5:27 And [GOD] hath given him authority to execute judgment also,
because he is the Son of man.
This is the presence of God walking upon the earth. God dwelt among his people in the FLESH rather than in a temple.

GOD DOESN'T LIVE IN HOUSES BUILD BY THE HANDS OF MAN.
Acts 7:37 This is that Moses, which said unto the children of Israel,
A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren,
like unto me; him shall ye hear.
Acts 7:46 Who found favour before God,
and desired to find a TABERNACLE for the God of Jacob.
Acts 7:47 But SOLOMAN built him an house.
Acts 7:48 Howbeit the most High DWELLETH NOT in temples made with hands; as saith the prophet,
Acts 7:49 Heaven is my throne, and earth is my footstool: what house will ye build me? saith the Lord: or what is the place of my rest?
Acts 7:50 Hath not my hand made all these things?
This is what I see in Matthew 1–“God with us” (Immanuel) or in John 1 (“the Word became flesh and dwelt among us”). This is the climactic moment in that God becomes human. It is an eschatological moment in that it anticipates the future when God will fully dwell with humanity on a renewed earth (“new heavens and new earth”).
Is. 7:14 Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.
Back Before Theology we commoners understood that God's Spirit never said 'He shall BE Immanuel.' Much less did he say that He would BE Jehovah (Lord) the only god (elohim)

DLC became a place for faithful Bible Education which is the only Education in a Christian Sense. Many men and women worked and invested in a place where their children could be educated outside the public education. James.A.Harding.Senior.Preaching.Pastor.A.Fungus.Growth.html
James A. Harding, "The pastor is not a necessity. He is a FUNGUS GROWTH upon the church, the body of Christians, DWARFING its growth, PREVENTING its development of its members; and until the church GETS RID of him it will NEVER prosper as it should. In the Bible we can find all the necessities.
"I can testify from my own observation that a good eldership will lose its efficiency, and its members become both UNABLE and UNWILLING to do the work of elders, in a very few years after the employment of a pastor. And if under the pastor system a good eldership has ever developed, I have never seen or heard of the case. I don't believe that has or ever will be done." -- Gospel Advocate, May 20, 1885
The late B. C. Goodpasture used to tell of the time when James A. Harding held a gospel meeting in Clark County, Kentucky. The year was 1877. When an elder of the church was asked about it, he said it was ". . . not much of a meeting. Oh, brother Harding did his usually powerful preaching, the attendance was fair, but the results were negligible. Only little Jimmy Shepherd was baptized."
My Grandfather was born in 1877. His mother died when I was about age 10 or so.

How could any human ever have “wrought” any action of God?
What is clear in Brueggemann’s text
is that he does not accept that the prophets
spoke because they were revealing the very person and work of God.
He does not believe that the authors were recording God’s actual dealings with humans, past or future;
rather, he says that they “wrought,” i.e., made up, acts of God from their imaginations.
Brueggemann is indelibly clear that he sees the prophetic books to be fanciful (he uses the word “imaginative”)
creations of groups of men, rather than the revealed words and prophesies of God.

But this practice is childish and involves thankless labour, while it is really of very little use, as it merely results in the assembly of a disorderly crowd of words, for the speaker to snatch the first that comes to hand.[1] Con-grĕgo to collect or assemble a multitude together, to unite, join, associate. CHURCH AGE WORLD: g65. αἰών aion, by implication, the world; specially (Jewish) a Messianic period
PROBABLY BEGINNING WITH JO BASS, JOHN T. WILLIS AND JEANENE.P.REESE
John.T.Willis.and.Jo.Bass.The.Holy.Spirit
"At the Highland Church of Christ, a faithful Christian woman who studied the Bible very carefully,
TAUGHT the elders at Highland that THIS TRADITIONAL view was far from the truth of the Bible.
She cited numerous texts in the Bible that the Holy Spirit works in our lives just as much as he did in the first century. Slowly, but surely, the whole church listened and learned and changed our position FOR THE GOOD.
JO BASS AND JOHN.T.WILLIS CALL DIRECT COMMANDS OF SCRIPTURE JUST YOUR TRADITION. PAUL WARNED ABOUT THAT. IF YOU CLAIM TO BE A PROPHET YOU SUBJECT YOURSELF TO BURNING..
John 6:63 It is the SPIRIT that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are SPIRIT, and they are life.
1Cor. 14:32 And the SPIRIT OF the PROPHETS are subject to the prophets.
1Cor. 14:33 For God is not the author of confusion,
but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.
1Cor. 14:34 Let your women keep silence in the churches:
for it is not permitted unto them to speak;
but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law.
1Cor. 14:35 And if they will LEARN any thing, let them ask their husbands at home:
for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.
1Cor. 14:36 WHAT? came the word of God out from you? or came it unto you only?
IT IS A LIE TO CALL HOLY SCRIPTURE JUST TRADITION.
1John 1:1 That which was from the beginning,
which we have heard,
which we have SEEN with our EYES,
which we have LOOKED upon,
and our hands have HANDLED,
of the WORD OF LIFE
John 5:25 Verily, verily, I say unto you,1John 1:2 (For the life was MANIFESTED
The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God:
and they that hear shall live.
John 5:26 For as the FATHER HATH LIFE IN HIMSELF
so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself;
John 5:27 And hath given him authority to execute judgment also,
because he is the Son of man.
and we have seen it,
and bear WITNESS,
and shew unto you that eternal life,
which was with the Father,
and was HEARD unto US;)
1John 1:3 That which WE have SEEN and HEARD declare we unto YOU,
that YOU also may have fellowship with US:
and truly our fellowship is with the Father,
AND
with his Son Jesus Christ.
1John 1:4 And these things WRITE WE unto you, THAT your joy may be full.
1John 1:5 This then is the message
which WE have HEARD of him,
and declare unto you,
that God is light,
and in him is no darkness at all.
1John 1:6 If WE say that we have fellowship with him,
and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:
1John 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light,
WE have fellowship one with another,
and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin
Jude 1 Jude, the servant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James,
to them that are sanctified by God the Father,
and preserved in Jesus Christ, and called:
Jude 2 Mercy unto you, and peace, and love, be multiplied.
Jude 3 Beloved, when I gave all diligence to WRITE unto you of the COMMON SALVATION
it was needful for me to WRITE unto you,
and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for THE FAITH
which was ONCE DELIVERED unto the saints.
THEOLOGIANS CLAIM THAT JESUS WAS A PLAGIARIST
Stephen.Lawson.Historical.Theology.And.The.Stone.Campbell.Movement.html:
In Thomas Campbell’s Declaration and Address, he wrote that “Nothing ought to be received into the faith or worship of the Church [omitted fact]??? that is not as old as the New Testament.”
That call by its nature is ahistorical;
it discounts the development and transmission of Christian
BELIEF and practice through CONTINGENT events and personalities
across the centuries

Brueggemann says “those of us who think critically
do not believe that the Old Testament was talking about Jesus, and yet we make the linkages. Texts traditionally understood as prophetic and messianic he generally interprets as "Christian imagination" or "rereadings

The Jesus Proposal : Rubel Shelly and John York
http://www.pineycom.com/Shelly.Jesus.Proposal.30.html
SHELLY-YORK: Meanwhile, at the dawn of the twenty-first century, the WORLD HAS SHIFTED
The certainty with which we understood the laws of nature
and the science of objective truth have been undermined by new discoveries.
JESUS SAID:
John 6:62 What and if ye shall see the Son of man ascend up where he was before?
John 6:63 It is the SPIRIT that quickeneth;
the flesh profiteth nothing: the WORDS that I SPEAK unto you,
they are SPIRIT, and they are LIFE.
RUBEL SHELLY AND ALL THEOLOGIANS SAY THAT TRUTH HAS SHIFTED.
SHELLY-YORK: Every scene in that story has been set in some historical human context. [Is that profound or what?]
Those cultural settings always have been changing and changeable.
The age of technology, with its notion of our universe as one giant well-oiled machine,
has heen confronted with some new realities.
JESUS SAID:
Luke 24:44 And he said unto them,
These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you,
that all things must be fulfilled,
which were written in the law of Moses,
and in the prophets, and in the psalms,
CONCERNING ME.
Luke 24:45 Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand THE SCRIPTURES
Luke 24:46 And said unto them,
Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer,
and to rise from the dead the third day:
SHIFTED THEOLOGY SAYS THAT IS NO LONGER TRUE.
SHELLY-YORK: Our proposal to focus on Jesus means that Scripture is NO LONGER a set of proof-texts
or a collection of facts or God's rulebook for human behavior.
CONTRARY TO SHELLY-YORK: HICKS ETAL.
The word rule (Latin regula, Gr. kanon) means a standard by which something can be tested, and the rule of faith means something extrinsic to our faith, and serving as its norm or measure. Since faith is Divine and infallible, the rule of faith must be also Divine and infallible; and since faith is supernatural assent to Divine truths upon Divine authority, the ultimate or remote rule of faith must be the truthfulness of God in revealing Himself.
1Tim. 3:15 But if I tarry long,
that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God,
which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.
1Tim. 4:1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly,
that in the latter times some shall depart from THE FAITH
giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
1Tim. 4:2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy;
having their conscience seared with a hot iron;
SHELLY-YORK: Scripture is the unfolding story of God acting both to create and to re-create. It is not an easy book to understand. It was NEVER intended as a document to [115] be INDIVIDUALLY read and interpreted--a sort~of correspondence course in salvation.
Col. 4:16 And when this epistle is READ among you,
cause that it be read also in the church of the Laodiceans;
and that ye likewise READ the epistle from Laodicea
1Th. 5:23 And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly;
1Th. 5:27 I charge you by the Lord that this epistle be READ unto all the holy brethren.
Eph. 3:4 Whereby, when ye READ,
ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ)
James 1:25 But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty,
and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer,
but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.
SHELLY-YORK: Prior to the invention of the printing press, access to the content of Scripture was oral.
For thousands of years it could only be heard and interpreted in the context of community.
All public events were attended by Scribes who had what became lections or parcels of the Word ready for sale. All of Scripture were collected and placed in synagogues for teaching.
Matt. 23:34 Wherefore, behold, I send unto you prophets, and wise men, and scribes: and some of them ye shall kill and crucify; and some of them shall ye scourge in your synagogues, and persecute them from city to city:
Matt. 23:34 Wherefore, behold, I send unto you prophets, and wise men, and scribes: and some of them ye shall kill and crucify; and some of them shall ye scourge in your synagogues, and persecute them from city to city:SHELLY-YORK: Yes, INDIVIDUALS could comment on Scripture, but those comments were always for the LARGER hearing of the community. Only after there was INDIVIDUAL access did there become an opportunity for an individual, isolated reading and interpretation that had no need or use for community.
Luke 11:49 Therefore also said the wisdom of God, I will send them prophets and apostles, and some of them they shall slay and persecute:
APT ELDERS AND EVANGELISTS WENT INTO ALL OF THE WORLD WITH THE WORD. THERE IS NO EXAMPLE OF THE "COMMUNITY" (COMMUNE) BEING INVOLVED IN ASSISTING GOD.
Acts 28:30 And Paul dwelt two whole years in his own hired house,
and received all that came in unto him,
Acts 28:31 Preaching the kingdom of God,
and teaching those things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ,
with all confidence, no man forbidding him.
While we still have access to reading as individuals, [THANK YOU VERY MUCH]
we stop asking, "What does this mean to me?"--
as though there is such an isolated meaning.
Instead we have a GROUP MENTALITY that asks, "What does this mean to US?"
More importantly, we lay aside INDIVIDUAL interpretations precisely because they are inevitably argumentative and divisive.
We wee mortals and disciples do not BELIEVE that God is incapable of saying what He things and has it recorded for our memory.
John.Mark.Hicks.No.Private.Interpretation.html
Peter says, in effect, if you private interpret meaning FURTHER EXPOUNDING, you repudiate God's holy spirit who spoke to Jesus.
We GIVE UP the right of individual interpretation and take on the accountability of SHARED READING. This is not a pooling of collective ignorance. The Bible is full of stories from ancient and often quite alien cultural settings and belief systems, and we cannot ignore those differences.So we listen to the voices of scholarship just as we listen to the child who intuitively hears what God is saying in a particular story.
AT A TIME IN HISTORY-WHEN BIBLE TEACHERS BECOME THEOLOGIANS A NEW HERMENEUTIC [defined as having demons as intercessors] CLAIM SPIRITUAL POWER TO DECLARE HOLY SCRIPTURE AS NOW "LETTER" AND ONLY THEOLOGIANS (FOR A PRICE) CAN TELL YOU THE "SPIRITUAL" MEANING.

Walter.Brueggeman.Apostasy.at.Lipscomb.University.html
Walter Brueggemann -Was professor of OT at Columbia Theological Seminary supports gay marriage and denies the authority of scripture. at is clear in Brueggemann’s text is that he does not accept that the prophets spoke because they were revealing the very person and work of God. He does not believe that the authors were recording God’s actual dealings with humans, past or future; rather, he says that they “wrought,” i.e., made up, acts of God from their imaginations. Brueggemann is indelibly clear that he sees the prophetic books to be fanciful (he uses the word “imaginative”) creations of groups of men, rather than the revealed words and prophesies of God.

For instance, the distracted world attempts to serve God by setting apart houses, churches, cloisters; vestures, gold-trimmed, silk and [50] every other kind; silver vessels and images; bells and organs, candles and lamps;
the money for which expense should have been appropriated to the poor if the object was to make an offering to God.Further, it keeps up a muttering and wailing in the churches day and night. But true praise and honor of God, a service that cannot be confined to place or person, is quietly ignored the world over. The pretenses of priests and monks about their system of exercises being service to the Lord, are false and delusive.

Where then are those who dare to mutilate themselves; seeing that they draw down the Apostolic curse, and accuse the workmanship of God, and take part with the Manichees? ... But if you will not allow this, why do you not mutilate the tongue for blasphemy, the hands for rapine, the feet for their evil courses, in short, the whole body? For the ear enchanted by the sound of a flute hath often enervated the souand the perception of a sweet perfume by the nostrils hath bewitched the mind, and made it frantic for pleasure .Theology is defined in the REAL literature as MYTHOLOGY, and Rhetoric points to people using means to fool the innocent. C. LEONARD ALLEN became the Dean of the Bible Department
Leonard Allen has taught at several schools, including Fuller Theological Seminary, Biola University, and John Brown University. He was a professor of Christian Studies at Abilene Christian University for 15 years.[1]
John Brown himself was always a proponent of interdenominationalism, and by aligning himself with Youth for Christ and other evangelical organizations after World War II, JBU was making a statement. John Brown's description of the school in 1948 as "interdenominational and definitely evangelical"[7]: 11We have reviewed all of the charges that Churches of Christ were founded on rationalism and not the Bible. He can show no proof to deny that the Campbells and others were faithful to the COMMANDS, EXAMPLES AND INFERENCES, the standard of Holy Scripture and all historic scholars who demanded that a church should be APOSTOLIC.

This dissertation is an exploration into the history, theology, and day-to-day thoughts around missional church from leaders and lay persons of four different denominational systems. Interview data was collected from 350 individuals in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, Presbyterian Church USA's Synod of the Trinity, Mennonite Church USA, and a fellowship of Churches of Christ connected with Abilene Christian University. This data was coded, analyzing common themes and areas of disconnect. How these interviewees understood themselves, their congregation, and their relationship to God in light of the missional church conversation guided the process of discovery.
In addition, a new way of understanding the Triune God as a social reality and in relationship with humanity is introduced through the hermeneutic of feminist theology. Specifically, how can the experience of women help one better understand the kingdom of God present today and coming at us from the future? What does it mean to become part of God's new creation by participating in the life of God? Implications for understanding God in light of this hermeneutic are presented for furthering the missional church conversation.Matt. 23:33 Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers,John.York.Lipscomb.University.Austin.Graduate.School.of.Theology.html

Plat. Keith characterizes it in this way:

In this religious exercise, so useful for inducing a devotional frame of mind and inflaming the strength of love to God, there is diversity of usage, and in Africa the members of the Church are rather too indifferent in regard to it; on which account the Donstists reproach us with our grave chanting of the divine songs of the prophets in our churches,
while they inflame their passions in their revels by the singing of psalms of human composition, which rouse them like the stirring notes of the trumpet on the battle-field.

"Christian Mysticism Contemplative spirituality has taken the church by storm. This issue is no longer relegated to the fringe elements of Christianity. Artress says that “You walk to the center of the labyrinth and there at the center, you meet the Divine.” (Lauren Artress, “Q and A with Lauren,” Veriditas, Vol. 1, no. 2, Summer 1996, p. 18) She explains that: “The labyrinth is a large, complex spiral circle which is an ancient symbol for the Divine Mother, the God within, the Goddess, the Holy in all of creation,” she wrote. “For many of us the feminine aspect of the Divine has been painfully absent from our lives, our spirituality, and our Western culture.” (Rev. Lauren Artress)
Psychotherapist Dr Lauren Artress says, “To walk a sacred path is to discover our inner sacred space: that core of feeling that is waiting to have life breathed back into it through symbols, archetypal forms like the labyrinth, rituals, stories, and myths.” This has nothing to do with practicing Christianity and everything to do with other spirtual practices that Bible tells us not to participate in.
Because the New Age movement has no single set of beliefs, it is difficult to offer a blanket definition of it. New Agers can hold to any number of neopagan beliefs, from pantheism, panentheism, monism, reincarnation and karma, to a belief in a World-Soul and in Mother Earth (Gaia) as a goddess or living entity. Various psychotechnologies (e.g.,
guided imagery, possibility thinking, hypnosis, "dream work," "past-life regression," Yoga, Tantra, and hallucinogenic drugs), divination (tarot, astrology), and spiritistic practices (now usually referred to as "channeling") are undertaken in order to raise practitioners to new levels of consciousness, to develop new "mind-body-spirit" potentials, to effect "inner healing," or to attain psychic powers. "An increasing number of churches and synagogues have begun to enlarge their context to include support committees for personal growth, holistic health centers, healing services, meditation workshops, consciousness-altering through music, even biofeedback training"[ Marilyn Ferguson, The Aquarian Conspiracy (Los Angeles: J. P. Tarcher, Inc., 1980), p. 369].

JOHN MARK HICKS: IRENAEUS knew that everyone reads the text against the background of a hypothesis, [NOT TRUE]
which norms what the text can mean or gives boundaries to the meaning of a text.
This is Scripture’s sacramental function within the liturgical life of the church.
Given God’s history with God’s people
and given the confession of the Rule of Faith [Holy Scripture in all of history]
AND its practice within the church,
the TEXT itself gives rise to meaning BEYOND the HUMAN author’s INTENT.
The church HEARS the word of God,
understands its depth and profundity,
and PERFORMS it LITURGICALLY and ethically.
VERSUS IRENAEUS AND ALL CHRISTIAN GROUPS AND ANYONE CLAIMING TO BE AN EDUCATOR HERE ARE THE WORDS-MAYBE YOU CANNOT READ?
The Reformed Churches were unanimous in declaring the Bible to be the SOLE RULE OF FAITH. "We believe that the only rule and standard by which all dogmas and all doctors are to be weighed and judged, is nothing else but the prophetic and apostolic writings of the Old and New Testaments" (Form. Concordiae, 1577).

3. Now, that we may not suffer ought of this kind, we must needs hold
the rule of the faith without deviation,
and DO the commandments of God,
believing in God and fearing Him as Lord and loving Him as Father.
Now this doing is produced by faith: for Isaiah says:
If ye believe not, neither shall ye understand.10BAPTISM SAVES because it is a request for A holy spirit or A good conscience or consciousness. That gives only Baptized disciples of Christ-only a co-perception or the ability to read the TEXT as it has been "once delivered" to us.

For in things that are, as they are, we believe;

Rom. 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the WORD of God.
Since then faith is the perpetuation of our salvation,
we must needs bestow much pains on the maintenance thereof,
in order that we may have a true comprehension of the things that are.
Now faith occasions this for us; even as
the Elders, the disciples of the Apostles, have handed down to us.

he is doing nothing shameful, but just what the gods themselves do.2
That is both unlikely and untrue; and whoever acts thus unlawfully is neither a god at all nor a child of gods;

He, therefore, that hearkens to our speech is blessed, and deserves blessing for all time;
but he that hearkens not shall, in the next place, be holden by this law:—
If anyone steals any piece of public property [UNIVERSITY], he shall receive the same punishment, be it great or small.
For he that steals a small thing steals with equal greed, though with less power,
while he that takes a large thing which he has not deposited does wrong to the full;
[941d] wherefore the law deems it right not to inflict a less penalty on the one offender than on the other on the ground that his theft is smaller, but rather because the one is possibly still curable, the other incurable. So if anyone convict in a court of law either a resident alien or a slave of stealing any piece of public property, in his case, since he is probably curable, the court shall decide what punishment he shall suffer

Brueggemann: It takes a measure of fantasy or imagination to “transpose ancient voices into contemporary voices of authority.”
Translation: God, Jesus and the God-sent SCRIBES used an INK which, according to ancient superstition, was SHOT AWAY by the rays shot from the eyes. According to John Mark Hicks, the LETTERS in INK are still there but you need Later-Day Theologians with a Phd to understand the SPIRIT or what God REALLY SHOULD HAVE SAID.
Brueggemann is indelibly clear that he sees the prophetic books to be fanciful (he uses the word “imaginative”) creations of groups of men, rather than the revealed words and prophesies of God. It would be one thing if Brueggemann were just one professor saying such atrocities. But he is one of the most widely respected and read professors in the liberal community.
Is. 34:16 Seek ye out of the book of the LORD, and read:
no one of these shall fail, none shall want her mate:
for my MOUTH it hath commanded,
and his SPIRIT it hath gathered them.
Is. 59:21 As for me, this is my covenant with them, saith the LORD;
My SPIRIT that is upon thee,
and my WORDS which I have put in thy MOUTH,
shall not depart out of thy MOUTH,
nor out of the MOUTH of thy seed,
nor out of the MOUTH of thy seed’s seed, saith the LORD, from henceforth and for ever.
Brueggemann says “those of us who think critically do not believe that the Old Testament was talking about Jesus, and yet we make the linkages. Texts traditionally understood as prophetic and messianic he generally interprets as "Christian imagination" or "rereadings": for example, the "great light" promised in 9:2 is simply "relief from oppression" not predictive.

in the essential biblical narratives
to dramatically shape our preaching and lives.
We believe that preaching REconstitutes biblical paradigms when it engages Scripture’s vision
1. by REpresenting what is absentWe identify biblical paradigms [Patterns] through the emphases Israel and the church gave them or by the claims made by the texts themselves
2. and making present what is INaccessible

that some parts of Scripture have greater claim than others.
These pivotal texts which echo through Scripture

TO President of a 100% Secular Role in a 100% Secular Liberal University:
I fully celebrate the appointment of Dr. McQueen as the President of Lipscomb University.
I do not affirm David Lipscomb’s position as presented in this article.
Rather, the SHIFT from David Lipscomb’s own personal position
(and practice of the school in his day)
to the present practice (including hiring Dr. McQueen)
is the point of the history in this article.
I appreciate the need for historical sympathy for how enculturated people are, including ourselves. We are all, to some extent, people of our times, and we may have thought differently if we lived then or Lipscomb lived now.
In that sense, of course, we extend grace as we hope others will extend grace to us.

John Mark Hicks: I appreciate the need for historical sympathy for how ENNCULTURATED PEOPLE ARE,
including ourselves. We are all, to some extent, people of our times,
and we may have thought differently if we lived then or Lipscomb lived now.
In that sense, of course, we extend grace as we hope others will extend grace to us.
To raise the question for Lipscomb about a female president in 2021 is rather anachronistic, to say the least.
The adjective anachronistic comes from the Greek words ana, or "against", and khronos, or "time." It usually refers to something old-fashioned or antique, but it can also mean anything that blatantly clashes with the time in which it is seen.
Chronological snobbery is an argument that the thinking, art, or science of an earlier time is inherently inferior to that of the present, simply by virtue of its temporal priority or the belief that since civilization has advanced in certain areas, people of earlier periods were less intelligent
it is the belief that "intellectually, humanity languished for countless generations in the most childish errors on all sorts of crucial subjects, until it was redeemed by some simple scientific dictum of the last centuryJohn Mark Hicks: At the same time, we must TELL THE TRUTH
But we don’t tell the truth to berate the past; we tell it to understand ourselves,
our journey, and the present moment.
I hope that is part of the function of this article.

Morris Silver: The image of jealousy (Ezek 8:3) in the LXX and Old Latin may be trnslated as "statue/image of the trader/buyer." Torczyner suggests that the compound term sha mala was transmitted from Assyrian (not Babylonian) into Hebrew as semel, with sh being pronounced as s. Thus, again, the "image of jealousy" whose presence in the sanctuary enraged Ezekiel was a businessman, not an idol.

This "rising up to play" involved eating, drinking, nakedness and musical worship. The goddess, Hathor, is the best candidate for the Mother Goddess of the Mount Sinai idolatry. - and making present what is inaccessible
- to the end that followers of God will live into a God-shaped reality.

THE PURPOSE OF "DATA OVERKILL" IS TO MAKE CERTAIN THAT PARENTS "DO NOT SPEND THEIR MONEY FOR WHAT IS NOT BREAD." THE LOUD PROLAMATION IS THAT--AT JUST THE RIGHT PROPHET TIME-CHRIST IS DENIED BY DENYING ALL OF THE FAITH AND PRACTICES OF THOSE NOW DISPLACED.
RHETORIC was also a refined way to dispute TRUTH to win a point.
For Plato, theology described the mythical,
which he allowed may have a temporary pedagogical significance that is beneficial
to the state but is to be cleansed from all offensive and abstruse elements
with the help of political legislation.
For instance, any presumed need by God, any example would be to explain and define the Last Will and Testament. Only the vilest heir would tamper with their mother's will.

John Mark Hicks quote: “For women to enter the work of public speaking or of leadership in the affairs of the world,” according to Lipscomb, “is to cut them off from childbearing” (Gospel Advocate [July 3, 1913] 635). Anything that distracts from “her chiefest work in life” is “incompatible” with her “womanly” vocation. .......
That's what Paul and the destruction of civilized culture and the youth living on hard drugs, Anti-anxiety pills or suicide pills PROVES.
I fully celebrate the appointment of Dr. McQueen as the President of Lipscomb University.
President of a totally secular university should not exercise authority over those teaching Holy Scripture as the only educational resource. A Christian is a disciple or student of Christ who speaks only to those who 'continue in my word.' Because the Christian PATH is the WAY that is called a SECT: it is a narrow road, pattern or method and almost no one OF this world can find it.
It may not matter, and Jude affirms that rejecting the 'once delivered faith" is FOREORDAINED TO THIS JUDGEMENT. The teachyouth to despise their godly ancestors who believed, consistent with creation and all ancient civilized society (including clay tablets) With Scripture-Speaks:

"Of old at the time those of the circumcision were worshipping with symbols and types it was not inappropriate to send up hymns to God with the psalterion and cithara and to do this on Sabbath days... We render our hymn with a living psalterion and a living cithara with spiritual songs. The unison voices of Christians would be more acceptable to God than any musical instrument.
THIS WAS THE WORSHIP OF A GOD-ABANDONED CIVIL STATE.
Acts 7:41 And they made a calf in those days, and offered sacrifice unto the idol, and rejoiced in the works of their own hands.Accordingly in all the churches of God, united in soul and attitude, with one mind and in agreement of faith and piety we send up a UNISON melody in the words of the Psalms." (commentary on Psalms 91:2-3)
Acts 7:42 Then God turned, and gave them up to worship the host of heaven; as it is written in the book of the prophets, O ye house of Israel, have ye offered to me slain beasts and sacrifices by the space of forty years in the wilderness?

Chrysostom says: "It was the ancient custom, as it is still the custom with us, for all to come together and unitedly join in singing. The young and old, rich and poor, male and female bond and free all join in the song." Jerome says: "Go where you will, the plowman at his plow sings his joyful hallelujahs, the busy mower regales himself with his psalms, and the vinedresser is singing one of the psalms of David."

53. Service to God is praise of him. It must be free and voluntary, at table, in the chamber, cellar, garret, in house or field, in all places, with all persons, at all times.
Whosoever teaches otherwise is no less guilty of falsehood than the Pope and the devil himself.
As a further consequence it is necessarily impossible for divine service to exist.
Even if all the choristers were ONE chorister, all the priests one priest,
all the monks one monk, all the churches one church,
all the bells one bell; in brief if all the foolish services offered to God in the institutions,
churches and cloisters were a hundred thousand times greater and more numerous than they are,
what does God care for such carnivals and juggling?54. Therefore, God complains most of the Jews in the second chapter of Micah,
because they silenced his praise, while at the same time,
they piped, blared and moaned like we do.
True divine service of praise cannot be established with revenues,
nor be circumscribed by laws and statutes.
High and low festivals have nothing to do with it.
It emanates from the Gospel, and certainly is as often rendered by a poor,
rustic servant as by a great bishop. [51]

IS THE FALSE TEACHING OF JOHN YORK AND JOHN MARK HICKS THE LIPSCOMB POSITION?
THOUGHT REQUIRES FACTS: IT IS A PURPOSE DRIVEN LIE TO SAY THAT DISCIPLES OF CHRIST THROUGH THE WORD WERE READING BLACK TEXT ON BROWN PAPER. THIS MAKES TWO ASSERTIONS:
FIRST, THAT NEITHER GOD, JESUS OR THE GOD-SENT APOSTLES, PROPHETS AND SCRIBES WERE ABLE TO EXPRESS THEIR VIEWS.
SECOND, THAT THOSE NOT THEOLOGIANS CANNOT READ PROPOSITIONAL STATEMENTS NOT NARRATIVES..
John.Mark.Hicks.Keith.Stanglin.Letter.and.Spirit.html

John Mark Hicks: : Irenaeus knew that everyone reads the text against the background of a hypothesis, [NOT TRUE]
which norms what the text can mean or gives boundaries to the meaning of a text.
This is Scripture’s sacramental function within the liturgical life of the church.
That means that God created mankind without a rational (spiritual) mind! Not only is His creation unable to understand simple statements, It means that HE was also incompetent and perhaps irrational. The word "dust" defines an aboriginal. Competent but untrained. "Light" speaks of enlightment.
1Cor. 15:45 And so it is written,That means that Jesus was incompetent: that is the meaning of 'Theology'.
The first man Adam was made a living soul;
the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.

and his righteousness, it sustained him.

Given God’s history with God’s people
and given the confession of the Rule of Faith [Holy Scripture in all of history]
AND its practice within the church,
the TEXT itself gives rise to meaning BEYOND the HUMAN author’s INTENT.
The church HEARS the WORD OF GOD of God,
understands its depth and profundity,
and PERFORMS it LITURGICALLY and ethically.
IS IT LIPSCOMB'S POSITION THAT JESUS WAS A LIAR?
John 16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit OF truth, is come,
he will guide you into ALL TRUTH
for he shall not speak of himself;
but whatsoever he shall hear,
that shall he speak: and he will shew you THINGS TO COME.
THAT MEANS THAT THERE IS NO TRUTH FOR THE CHURCH BEYOND THAT WHICH IS WRITTEN.
Theology is defined as MYTHOLOGY: why should people trust those FOR HIRE more that 2,000l years of presered Scripture? The fact is that no one other that theologians and their students give them any credit.

Irenaeus: Since then faith is the perpetuation of our salvation,
we must needs bestow much pains on the maintenance thereof,
in order that we may have a true comprehension of the things that are.
Now faith occasions this for us; even as
the Elders, the disciples of the Apostles, have handed down to us.
Heb. 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him:
for he that cometh to God must believe that he is,
and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
THAT IS THE CONFLESSION OF THEOLOGIANS WHO HAVE TAKEN OVER YOUR TEMPLE. WHAT THEY ARE SAYING IS THAT GOD, JESUS AND THE APOSTLES ARE SO IGNORANT THAT THEY CANNOT GIVE HIS CHILDREN A DECLARATION OF INDEPENDANCE THAT WAS ABLE TO SURVIVE THE TEST OF THEOLOGIANS WHO ARE VICTIMS OF INTELLECTUAL INCEST.
IT IS BEYOND REDEMPTION TO SAY THAT REFUSING TO BE TAKEN CAPTIVE BY THE INSTRUMENTAL AND

John Mark Hicks: At the same time, we must tell the truth. But we don’t tell the truth to berate the past; we tell it to understand ourselves, our journey, and the present moment. I hope that is part of the function of this article.
My interest in this piece is to illustrate the shift in understanding over the past 100 years. In 1911, it would have been inconceivable for those associated with the Nashville Bible School to invite a woman president to lead the institution. David Lipscomb did not believe women should be public speakers or any kind of public leaders, whether in church or society.

Brueggemann says “Isa 4:2-6, about a future age of the Branch of the Lord, reflects postexilic redacting of future themes back into the early chapters. Regarding the Branch in 11:1-16, he says, "We are here not to think of the later trinitarian categories of the church. . . ." Isa 9:1-7 is often taken as a "rehearing" of the story in the light of Jesus, but it is not in any way predictive. Further, the depiction of the Righteous King in Isaiah 11 is a public policy statement ("social possibility") for earthly kings and leaders, although it did become Jesus' own standard of righteousness and justice, and thus the cause of his death.

-Plato in Republic Book III did not envision (nor did the Bible so translate) that such piping and strumming have any "abiding value" but as the Septuagint translates Amos, music was just "fleeting pleasure." In no sense did Plato permit the parasites of Lucian to take the place of the god:
EVIL: "If a man, then, it seems, [398a] who was capable by his cunning of assuming (pantomimic art) every kind of shape and imitating all things should arrive in our city, bringing with himself
- the poems which he wished to exhibit,
- we should fall down and worship him as a holy and wondrous and delightful creature,
but (we) should say to him that there is no man of that kind among us in our city,GOOD: but we ourselves, for our souls' good, should continue to employ the more austere and less delightful poet and tale-teller,
- nor is it lawful for such a man to arise among us,
- and we should send him away to another city,
- after pouring myrrh down over his head and crowning him with fillets of wool (taring and feathering him)
- who would imitate the diction of the good man and would tell his tale
- in the patterns which we prescribed in the beginning,
- when we set out to educate our soldiers."
Interpreted and explained as neither God nor Jesus nor the prophets, apostles and scribes sent by God could possibly have anticipated OUR CULTURE. Because Scripture has never changed, it must be that Doctors of the Law can now interpret the SPIRIT whereas the WORD has been changed by the heisenberg uncertainty principle and human evolution.

On behalf of women Jesus acted as the model human
standing against the patriarchal system,
bringing women into the new order where sex distinctions no longer determine rank and worth.
This new paradigm [Pattern], however, has not always been realized. From mainline Protestant churches to obscure fundamentalist groups, from Roman Catholics to Pentecostals, Christians for the past two thousand years have dealt with men and women of all ages, classes, and ethnicity who struggle with issues of THE NEW ORDER
Lipscomb University Preaching 2008 From Denominational Imagination!
"This conference proposes that WE allow the worlds imagined
in the essential biblical narratives
to dramatically shape our preaching and lives.
We believe that preaching REconstitutes biblical paradigms when it engages Scripture’s vision
- by REpresenting what is absent
- and making present what is inaccessible
- to the end that followers of God will live into a God-shaped reality.
Carroll D. Osburn the Purpose-Driven Agenda: On pages 14-15: "With so many questions flying around and so much uncertainty being expressed in various quarters, what an opportunity for the various faculties of our Christian colleges and universities to help shape the future! These are the best of times to be involved in Christian education
Carroll D. Osburn seems to confess that he and friends are educating change agents. Furthermore, he identifies the CHANGE scheme by speaking of women reclaiming the IDEAL by little acts of subversion.
If we are to have a truly significant impact upon the national and international scene,faculties of religion must play leading prophetic roles in channeling and facilitating whatever changes loom ahead.

"At the Highland Church of Christ, a faithful Christian woman who studied the Bible very carefully,
TAUGHT the elders at Highland that THIS TRADITIONAL view was far from the truth of the Bible.
She cited numerous texts in the Bible that the Holy Spirit works in our lives
just as much as he did in the first century.
Slowly, but surely, the whole church listened and learned and changed our position FOR THE GOOD. "
Jackie.Halstead.Lectio-Divina.Sorcerers.html
"First read a passage of scripture. Once you sense the Lord’s presence,
the content of what you read is no longer important.
The scripture has served its purpose;
it has quieted your mind; it has brought you to him. …
You should always remember that you are not there to gain an understanding of what you have read; rather you are reading to turn your mind from the outward things to the deep parts of your being. You are not there to learn or to read, but you are there to experience the presence of your Lord!” There is a difference between reading the Word and understanding its meaning versus a method of focusing on a single word to gain a mystical experience. Through Youth Specialties and many other youth-oriented organizations, our youth are being taught to treat the Bible as a meditative vehicle rather than a source of knowledge to further our understanding of God

IS IT THE POLICY TO USE FEMALE MUSICIANS ALWAYS RECORDED AS TO DECEIVE?
Holy Scripture and recorded history PROVES that the SHAMEFUL musicians called "Abominable and Reprobate" means that you will never be able to SEE THE LIGHT: We walk in the LIGHT and swim in the WATER OF THE WORD. That's Fine the REAL Scripture says that Sons FROM God are taught BY God to listen only to Jesus and the Apostles, Prophets and Scribes who left us a MEMORY. The Spirit and leader of the locusts or a worship team is named APOLLYON.

The rich man and the poor man alike travel together to the boundary of death. [20] And I expect that the story of Odysseus came to exceed his experiences, through the sweet songs of Homer
[22] since there is a certain solemnity in his lies and winged artfulness,
and poetic skill deceives, seducing us with stories,
and the heart of the mass of men is blind.
For if [25] they had been able to see the truth, then mighty Aias, in anger over the arms, would never have planted in his chest the smooth sword—Aias, who was the most powerful in battle,

- The form of diction should be neither metrical nor without rhythm. If it is metrical, it lacks persuasiveness, for it appears artificial, and at the same time it distracts the hearer's attention,
- since it sets him on the watch for the recurrence of such and such a cadence..
According to Philo, the gods of the pagans exploit this weakness of men. For the sake of a better effect, and with the intention of more easily cheating their devotes, that they have set their lies to melodies, rhythms and meters.." Click for more.

We SHIFT from Public Worship of the Church:
IS IT THE POLICY TO USE RITUALS AND IDOLS (labyrinth) TO GET NEW THEOLOGY
John Mark Hicks: "David Lipscomb was adamant that women should not “take any active part in conducting the public service” or “public worship” of the assembled body of Christ (1 Corinthians, Gospel Advocate Commentary, p. 216)."
IS THE FALSE TEACHING OF JOHN YORK AND JOHN MARK HIS THE LIPSCOMB POSITION?
THE PURPOSE DRIVEN BY THE LOWRY REIGN WAS TO RESOLVE CONFLICT BY SHIFTING FROM THE BIBLICAL AND HISTORICAL CHURCH TO IMAGINATION AND REVELATION BY LABYRINTH.

1) Christian Mysticism Contemplative spirituality has taken the church by storm. This issue is no longer relegated to the fringe elements of Christianity. No denomination is immune to its effects, despite the fact that it is the legacy of Roman Catholic monks who merged Eastern spirituality with Christianity. We will consider several of the most prominent practices of this “Christian” mysticism, such as contemplative prayer, the prayer labyrinth, yoga, lectio

Colossians 2:16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath daystas Thettalidas: the Thessalian women were very skilful in sorcery and poisoning. They stood in close relation to the night-goddess Hecate; hence people ascribed to them the power to draw the moon from the heavens. Strepsiades says in Ar. Women and girls from the different ranks of society were proud to enter the service of the gods as singers and musicians. The understanding of this service was universal: these singers constituted the 'harem of the gods'." "The Catholic Johannes Quasten in Pagan and Christian Music tells it like it is)"Philodemus considered it paradoxical that music should be regarded as veneration of the gods while musicians were paid for performing this so-called veneration. Again, Philodemus held as self deceptive the view that music mediated religious ecstasy.
..........He saw the entire condition induced by the noise of cymbals and tambourines
..........[tabering with one's hands or upon one's breast]
..........as a disturbance of the spirit.
..........He found it significant that, on the whole,
..........only women and effeminate men fell into this folly.Accordingly, nothing of value could be attributed to music;
.......... it was no more than a slave of the sensation of pleasure,
.......... which satisfied much in the same way that food and drink did.
Schopenhauer This process, at once IRRATIONAL and SHAMFUL, takes place on the margins of truth,
A woman who persuades solely by means of her presence and its perfumes,
and thus borders more on magic than on empirical science.
The magical induction becomes a seduction and thus trickery,
and an ADULT refuses to be captivated,
resisting the beliefs suggested to him by the auletic. [piper?]
that is, by the magical exhalations of her being,
the night that envelops us, MUSIC, which secures our allegiance
solely through the Charm engendered by a TRILL or an ARPEGGIO,
will therefore be the object of a deep suspicion.
Being BEWITCHED is not worthy of a rational person.
Just as a MASCULINE
Will insists that its decisions are made on concrete grounds—
and will never admit a preference founded in emotion—
so MASCULINE Reason will never admit itself prone to seduction.
What is science for if not to sustain us against the intoxications of night
and the TEMPTATIONS exercised by the ENCHANTRESS appearance?
Why.Men.Dont.Sing.in.Church: Despite these advantages, there are a few barriers for men engaging in contemporary worship. Murrow points out that before contemporary worship came on the scene in the 70’s and 80’s, most worship songs in the church were written about God rather than to God. He writes, “With hymns, God is out there. He’s big. Powerful. Dangerous. He’s a leader. With Praise and Worship, God is at my side. He’s close. Intimate. Safe. He’s a lover.”
“Picture two male hunters sitting in a duck blind, shotguns resting across their laps. One hunter decides to express his affection for the other, using the words of a popular praise song. He turns to his friend and says, “Hey, buddy…”
Your love is extravagant
Your friendship, it is intimate
I feel I’m moving to the rhythm of your grace
Your fragrance is intoxicating in this secret placeThose are the lyrics to a worship song. Murrow goes on to write, “I cannot imagine saying these words to another man - especially one carrying a loaded shotgun.”
Although most church leaders are men, most Christian men feel like the church is feminized and it’s the last place they want to spend Sunday mornings.
