Joseph Shulam Jeremiah A Prophet for Our Time: Lipscomb University

Messianic Jews, Joe Shulam and Lipscomb University: Jeremiah was a Prophet for ALL times.   Messianic Jews continue to worship like the Jews and therefore cannot be the WAY where Paul said that we circumcised Worship God IN THE SPIRIT as opposed to IN THE FLESH.

Joeseph Shulam is invited to Buy and Sell at Lipscomb University perhaps because Jesus said that "doctors of the law take away the key to knowledge."

Joseph Shulam says that GOD murdered Jesus and not the Jews.

Isaiah 28 Christ as the SPIRIT who BREATHED into the Prophets repudiated the Civil-Military-Clergy complex as robbers and parasites.

The Spiirit OF Christ identified the Civil-Military-Clergy as today's PATTERN as liars, robbers and parasites.  The Covenant made with Abraham by God in Christ and the Law of Moses--imposed because of musical idolatry of the Egyptian trinity--was to legislate for the lawless until God could destroy in the wilderness for 40 years and transport them through Canaan back to Babylon for captivity and death.

The Godly Israelites and not the Jacob-cursed and God-Abandoned tribe of Levi attended the Qahal or synagogue from the beginning because Jacob warned everyone not to attend the assembly of Levi nor to enter into covenant with them.

Paul in Galatians 3 reverts to the Abrahamic Covenant to define how one becomes the son of God and spiritual son of Abraham.

The were Saved BY faith
For (what I mean is) those who are baptized INTO Christ have put on Christ.

Jeremiah often speaks of the Spirit OF Christ in the Prophets and radically condemn those who had gladly been abandoned to worship the starry host.

An Assembly of Christ--even as the synagogue defined in the wilderness--learned the Law of Moses to learn how to keep from getting killed but they heard The Book of the Covenant and the Prophets being PREACHED by being READ.

Jer. 25:4 And the LORD hath sent unto you all HIS servants the prophets,
        rising early and sending them; but YE have not hearkened, nor inclined your ear to hear.

Of Jerusalem, called Sodom:

Rev. 18:24 And in her was found the blood of prophets, and of saints,
        and of all that were slain upon the earth.

Eph. 4:11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets;
        and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;

Christ gave the vocational APT elders to first silence the cunning craftsmen or sophists meaning self-speakers, singers, instrument players or actors because Paul said in Ephesians 4 that THEY LIE IN WAIT TO DECEIVE.

James 5:10 Take, my brethren, the prophets,
        who have spoken in the name of the Lord,
        for an example of suffering affliction, and of patience.

The "lying pen of the Scribes" spoke for the king which God did not command but permitted to carry out His captivity and death penalty because of musical idolatry at Mount Sinai.

1Pet. 1:10   Of which salvation the prophets have enquired and searched diligently,
        who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you:

2Pet. 3:2 That ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets,
         and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour:

THE LAND PROMISE DOES NOT EXIST

Jer. 35:15 I have sent also unto you all my servants the prophets,
        rising up early and sending them,
        saying, Return ye now every man from his evil way,
        and amend your doings,
        and go not after other gods to serve them,
        and ye shall dwell in the land which I have given to you and to your fathers:
        but ye have not inclined your ear, nor hearkened unto me.

The Jewish Rabbi rested on the "tradition of the elders" and knew little or cared little for the historic documents which were READ in the synagogue while the people rested from the laded burden of "music" or passing the collection plates.   The multitudes then and now are OF the World and Jesus doesn't pray for those devoted to the worship of the creature and not the Creator whose demands are to escape from inside the camp to "come learn of me." It is not possible to grasp the meaning of a Holy (wholly) Spirit and mere man and think that you can perform ceremonial rituals and have him think of you as other than infantile: He owns everything.

Matt. 13:34 All these things spake Jesus unto the multitude in parables;
        and without a parable spake he not unto them
Matt. 13:35 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying,
        I will open my mouth in parables;
        I will utter things which have been kept secret from the foundation of the world.
Matt. 13:36 Then Jesus sent the multitude away, and went into the house:
        and his disciples came unto him, saying, Declare unto us the parable of the tares of the field.

Mark 4:33 And with many such parables spake he the word unto them,
        as they were able to hear it.
Mark 4:34 But without a parable spake he not unto them:
        and when they were alone, he expounded all things to his disciples.

Luke 8:10 And he said, Unto you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God:
         but to others in parables;
                that seeing they might not see,
                and hearing they might not understand.

Luke 8:9 And his disciples asked him, saying, What might this parable be?
Luke 8:10 And he said, Unto you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God:
        but to others in parables; that seeing they might not see, and hearing they might not understand.
Luke 8:11 Now the parable is this: The seed is the WORD of God.
Luke 8:12 Those by the way side are they that hear; then cometh the devil,
        and taketh away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved
Luke 8:18 Take heed therefore how ye hear:
        for whosoever hath, to him shall be given;
        and whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken even that which he seemeth to have.

Notice the two GROUPS which is always the meaning of PREDESTINATED purpose.

And he said, It is a light thing that thou shouldest be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob,
........[1] and to restore the preserved of Israel:
........[2] I will also give thee for a light to the Gentiles,
........[3] that thou mayest be my salvation unto the end of the earth. Isa 49:6

Salvation is Yeshuwah! God chooses those who DO NOT repudiate Him by THEIR OWN SINS.

Thus saith the Lord, the Redeemer of Israel, and his Holy One,
to him whom
man despiseth,
to him whom the
nation abhorreth,
to a servant of rulers, Kings shall see and arise, princes also shall worship,
because of the Lord that is faithful, and the Holy One of Israel,
and he shall
choose thee. Isa 49:7

Thus saith the Lord, In an acceptable time have I heard thee, and in a day of salvation have I helped thee:
........ .[1] and I will preserve thee,
........ .[2] and give thee for a covenant of the people,
........ .[3] to establish the earth, to cause to
................inherit the desolate heritages; Isa 49:8

Reserved does not mean predestiated but:

Esaias also crieth concerning Israel,
........ Though the number of the children of Israel be as the sand of the sea,
........ a remnant shall be saved: Ro.9:27

For though thy people Israel be as the sand of the sea,
........ yet a remnant of them shall return:
........ the consumption decreed shall overflow with righteousness. Isa 10:22

But what saith the answer of God unto him?
........ I have reserved to myself seven thousand men,
........ who have not bowed the knee to the image of Baal. Ro.11:4

Kataleipo (g2641) kat-al-i'-po; from 2596 and 3007; to leave down, i.e. behind; by impl. to abandon, have remaining: - forsake, leave, reserve.
The Word is the LOGOS (Hebrew Dabar): it is opposite to rhetoric, personal opinions, singing, playing instruments, acting or SELLING.
Jesus said that God HIDES from the wise or Sophists: speakers, singers, instrument players especially "melody in a holy place."
Jesus said that He does not PRAY for the World or Kosmos meaning those who ADORN the word with rhetoric, singing, playing or acting.
Isa 8:19And when they shall say unto you,
        Seek unto them that have familiar spirits,
        and unto wizards that peep, and that mutter:
                should not a people seek unto their God?
                for the living to the dead?
"The spirits were thought to speak in murmurings or piping sounds (Isa 8:19), which could be imitated by the medium (ventriloquist)...Most spiritual and popular was the interpretation of dreams.
It also was the case that mediums intentionally would convert themselves into a semi-waking trance. In this way the suitable mediums attained to a certain kind of clairvoyance, found among various peoples. This approaches the condition of an ecstatically aroused pseudo-prophet.. In Greece, too, oracles were pronounced by the Phythian prophetess who by vapors and the like was aroused to a practice of the mantic art. (Int Std Bible Ency, p. 2466)

And I might also tell you how the Sibyl and other inspired persons have given to many an one many an intimation of the future which has saved them from falling. But it would be tedious to speak of what every one knows.

There will be more reason in appealing to the ancient inventors of names, who would never have connected prophecy (mantike) which foretells the future and is the noblest of arts,

And when the Muses came and song appeared they were ravished with delight; and singing always, never thought of eating and drinking, until at last in their forgetfulness they died.

"Singing served as a means of inducing ecstatic prophecy (speaking in tongues). Thus the essential relationship between music and prophecy can be clearly seen. This relationship also explains why the expression for "making music" and "prophesying" was often identical in the ancient tongues. origen contra celsum 8.67.
