Jeremiah 31 Covenant Made With Israel and Judah
OF THE SYNAGOGUE AS SCHOOL OF THE WORD OF GOD WITH NO STAFF CALLED PARASITES
It was EXCLUSIVE of vocal or instrumental rejoicing or any self-speak rhetoric. Sabbath never meant a day of WORSHIP (work) but REST. God gave the example of WORKING six days and the RESTING on the seventh day. Work outlawed sending out "ministers of God."
It was INCLUSIVE of Rest, Reading and Rehearsing the Word (only) of God (only). The synagogue of the godly never disobeyed that command, Jesus obeyed and commanded the only assembly as a READING ASSEMBLY defined as a school of the Word.
The New Covenant was made with the HOUSE of Israel and Judah. House is the plebes, laos opposite to the Priests, Levites, Scribes or Pharisees Jesus defined as hypocrites. In Ezekiel 33 Christ named speakers for HIRE, singers and instrument player. These were the MARKS of those who have no intention of either teaching or obeying the Word of God.
Is. 4:4 When the Lord shall have washed away the filth of the daughters of Zion,
and shall have purged the blood of Jerusalem
from the midst thereof by the SPIRIT of judgment,
and by the SPIRIT of burning.
Is. 4:5 And the LORD will create upon every dwelling place of mount Zion,
and upon her assemblies, a cloud and smoke by day,
and the shining of a flaming fire by night: for upon all the glory shall be a defence.
Is. 4:6 And there shall be a tabernacle for a shadow in the daytime from the heat,
and for a place of refuge, and for a covert from storm and from rain.
Jesus died to save us FROM the Doctors of the Law and those who SELL people a certificate to buy and sell but do not teach them the prophets:

Gal. 3:17 And this I say, that the covenant, that was confirmed before of God in Christ, the law, which was four hundred and thirty years after, cannot disannul, that it should make the promise of none effect.
I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: Jeremiah 31:31
Amos 9 may be a better summary: all of the prophets identify the only Spiritual Covenant that God in Christ made to the "house", plebes or laity of the Hebrews OPPOSITE to the Priests and Levites.
God Abandoned the Israelites to worship the starry host and carried them away beyond Babylon.
God in Christ made the only spiritual covenant with Abraham: Abraham was a syrian and not a Jews. The Old Testament is a retrospective of the people in general after the fall into musical idolatry of the golden calf at Mount Sinai: they worshipped the starry host as well as serpents. Most nations never fell into such transgression that God had to regulate them with The Law of Moses: other nations had some of the same laws originating in Egypt or Babylon.
Amos 9:4 And though they go into captivity before their enemies,
thence will I command the sword, and it shall slay them:
and I will set mine eyes upon them for evil, and not for good.
Amos 9:5 For the Lord, the GOD of hosts,
is he that toucheth the land and it melteth,
and all that dwell therein shall mourn;
and it shall rise up wholly like the River;
and shall sink again, like the River of Egypt;
Amos 9:6 It is he that buildeth his stories in the heaven,
and hath founded his troop in the earth;
he that calleth for the waters of the sea,
and poureth them out upon the face of the earth:
The LORD is his name.
God never commanded that the Israelites kill all of the inhabitants and steal their property. God granted Israel a place which did not even include Jerusalem. Because Canaan was a crossroads and in the path of warrioring nations, God granted many people a SAFE PLACE out of the path. Synagogue or Ekklesia quarantined the godly people to their very isolated towns where all people enjoyed the school of the Word as opposed to those who from the Jacob-cursed levites onward:
Gen. 49:6 O my soul, come not thou into their council; Unto their assembly, my glory, be not thou united; For in their anger they slew a man, And in their selfwill they houghed an ox.The prophets deny that God had commanded the king, kingdom, animal slaughter or the Levites as soothsayer-sorcerers. Isaiah 1 and Jeremiah 7 has Christ deny the whole evil scheme as "the worship of the starry host." The "commands" to offer sacrifices was part of the pagan worship of the starry hosts on their way to Assyrian and Babylonian captivity. However, Christ the Spirit spoke for the spiritual people.
Is. 66:3 He that killeth an ox is as he that slayeth a man; he that sacrificeth a lamb, as he that breaketh a dog’s neck; he that offereth an oblation, as he that offereth swine’s blood; he that burneth frankincense, as he that blesseth an idol: yea, they have chosen their own ways, and their soul delighteth in their abominations;Proving that all of the people who found small parts of Canaan a safe place had the same rights as the "Jews"--
Amos 9:7 Are ye not as children of the Ethiopians unto me,
O children of Israel? saith the LORD.
Have not I brought up Israel out of the land of Egypt?
and the Philistines from Caphtor,
and the Syrians from Kir? [of Moab]
Captor is mentioned as one of the Nations the SEED of Abraham was commanded to BLESS and not murder. Genesis 10:13-15Amos 9:8 Behold, the eyes of the Lord GOD are upon the sinful kingdom,
and I will destroy it from off the face of the earth;
saving that I will not utterly destroy the house [plebs, laos] of Jacob, saith the LORD.
Amos 9:9 For, lo, I will command,
and I will sift [con-cŭtĭo] the house of Israel among all nations,
like as corn is sifted in a sieve, [sift by falling]
yet shall not the least grain fall upon the earth. [To reproduce]
The unfaithful of Israel were sent into captivity and death as the sentence imposed because of a return to Egyptian idolatry at Mount Sinai. The Spirit of Christ makes it certain that the dispersed Israelites were not the ones returned when they were converted to ChristAmos 9:10 All the sinners of my people shall die by the sword,

and close up the breaches thereof;
and I will raise up his ruins,
and I will build it as in the days of old;
Jesus as the Christ was the spiritual son of David. God never promised David a house built of stones and stolen gold but a FAMILY. Messiah was sent to the tiny remnant of ISRAEL and to the Gentiles as the ONLY spiritual covenant made by God in Christ.
Again we should note that LEVITE does not just mean of the seed of Levi but the ministers of the gods of FIRE and BURNING of infants before the godly kings moderated their folly.
A Jew as we note below is not a person from the small parcel of land alloted to the triibe of Judah. The Jewish Encyclopedia proves that the Jews worshipped the starry host and the "gods" defined by Amos and Stephen. This was their practice in Egypt, in the Wilderness, in Canaan and today in Messianic Jewish groups who observe days and seasons and try to DEFEND a law given to legislate the Lawless in their worship of the Starry Host.
While he destruction might not have been complete, if ONE Israelite Mother supplied all of the DNA to a whole nation, the fact is that none of ISRAEL that was SCATTERED reproduced as genetic Jews any more than the faithful who were NEVER scattered.Iamblichus 3 23. Sabazios, Sabaoth, or Sabbat, the god of the Planet Saturn, was better known as Bacchus or Dionysos, and was also styled in Semitic countries, Iao or Yava. His worship was more or less associated and identified with that of the Great Mother, under various designations, and it was characterized by phallephoric processions, dances, mourning for the slain divinity, and the Watch Night. It came from Assyria as its peculiar symbols, the ivy or kissos, the spotted robe or Nimr, and the Thyrso, indicate. The name Zagreus the Kissos and nimr remind us of Kissaia or Asiatic Ethiopia, and the Zagros mountains occupied by the Nimr. Assyria was called "the land of Nimrod." -Amos VIII.
This work dealt with the MAGICAL properties of music, and described for what especial purposes the various instruments of music were used in the Temple-service of the Jews. Now Iamblichus (De Mysteries, III.ix) goes into the matter of the
so-called Corybantic and Bacchic 'frenzies' produced by musical instruments in the Mysteries of Ceres and Bacchus; and in his Life of Pythagoras (xxv) he, further, tells us that:

For though thy people Israel be as the sand of the sea,

Though the number of the children of Israel be as the sand of the sea,

I have reserved to myself seven thousand men,

The New Covenant was made with the house of Israel and Judah: that is the plebes or laos and NOT the priests and Levites. There was nothing from Mount Sinai until "another prophet like Moses came." The children of Jacob and Judah were not Jews. A small number of Israel and Judah were not taken into captivity because they honored God and practiced social justice.

Chambers' Encyclopedia says: "The Jews, as well as the early Christians, had no special names for the single days, but counted their number from the previous Sabbath, beginning with Sunday, as the first after the Sabbath, and ending with Friday, as the sixth after the previous, or eve (Ereb) of the next Sabbath.
The planetary gods Nardouk (Jupiter), Adar (Saturn), Istar (Venus, Zoe, Lucifer), Nergal (Mars), and Nebo (Mercury),* were all worshiped by the ancient Israelites. Istar was called "Queen of the Stars." Moloch, the rival of Jehovah, who shared for centuries the worship of the Hebrews, had his blazing star, the emblem of his implacable cruelty. The worship of Astarte, daughter of the moon, and "Queen of Heaven," whose emblem was a star, was introduced by Solomon himself (1 Kings xi, 5; 2 Kings xxiii, 13).

The Jews blew the trumpet on the newmoon, poured out libations and offered burnt sacrifices. And for this duty the Lobii, Luim or Levites were assigned to do just what the Brahmans did in India. They ministered to la'hoh, Lord of Life, according to Exodus, iii. 14 ; xxxviii. 21; xl. 15; Jeremiah, xxxiii. 18. Hence the Jews were the Brahmaus of Palestine, as Josephus said, worshipping Brahma, whom, for their own political purposes, they chose to regard as Ab (Father) Ram (Most High) which title is not unsuitable to the Most High of the Hindu Gods. King states that the words brahrna and abrahm have the same numerical value.

Jer 31, Jeremiah thirty one. Jeremiah has a dream about Israel but for the most part they went into captivity and death. Spiritual Israel would be given REST when Messiah came. Not in the vilest pagan temple did the singers or musicians ever enter into the holy places. The singers served the priests in slaughtering tens of thousands of innocent animals. No singer or musician could enter into the Holy Place as a type of the church even to clean out the garbage. They would have been executed if they attempted to enter any of the Holy Places.
There are TWO THREADS in the Old Testament: The FIRST THREAD is that of the Scribes recording the history of the Kings but the kings were "given in God's anger" when the elders rejected God and demanded a human king: God understood that they wanted to worship like the nations. God promised that the kings would lead them into captivigy and death.
The SECOND THREAD is recorded by the prophets by the Spirit of Christ (1 Pet 1:11; 2 Cor 3; Rev 19:10). These prophets totally repudiated the ELITE of the king, military and clergy and called them robbers and parasites.
While Jeremiah is used to prove that God operates directly on the mind of mankind, Jeremiah makes sure that we do not believe it.

Again I will build thee, and thou shalt be built, O virgin of Israel:And the Lord said unto me, Amos, what seest thou? And I said, A plumbline. Then said the Lord, Behold, I will set a plumbline in the midst of my people Israel: I will not again pass by them any more: Am.7:8
H594 ’ănâk an-awk' Probably from an unused root meaning to be narrow; according to most a plumb line, and to others a hook:--plumb-line.
It is a fact that in spite of Jeremiah's dream, most if not all of the ten tribes went into captivity and death just as God had sentenced them at Mount Sinai because they substituted pagan musical idolatry for the covenant of Grace. Judah fell under the same curse and of the perhaps 3 million who came out of Egypt and which had grown into a great nation, only about 50,000 ever returned from captivity. Therefore, we know that the dreamed promises was not for the MANY.
..........thou shalt again be adorned with thy tabrets,

The timbrel "was a typical women's instrument. It is mentioned seven times in the OT; thus it must have been very popular. Although it occurs in the Psalter and in religious hymns (Exod 15; Jer. 31:4), it was not permitted in the temple. Its function in the Bible was restricted to secular or religious frolicking, cultic dances, or processions (e. g., II Sam. 6:5; 1I Chr. 13:4; Ps. 68:25). Its absence in the temple ritual was possible due to the strong female symbolism, which always accompanied the tambourine, and which made its use so popular at all fertility rites." (Interpreter's Dictionary of the Bible, p. 474, Abingdon).
Adorned is:
Adah (h5710) aw-daw'; a prim. root; to advance, i. e. pass on or continue; causat. to remove; spec. to bedeck (i. e. bring an ornament upon): - adorn, deck (self), pass by, take away.

And David said unto Michal, It was before the Lord, which chose me before thy father, and before all his house, to appoint me ruler over the people of the Lord, over Israel: therefore will I play before the Lord. 2 Sam 6:21
And I will yet be more vile than thus, and will be base in mine own sight: and of the maidservants which thou hast spoken of, of them shall I be had in honour. 2 Sam 6:22
Therefore Michal the daughter of Saul had no child unto the day of her death. 2 Sam 6:23
The challenge to David's manhood was more than he could bear. He not only allowed no more children of SAUL to be born of Michal who had faithfully preserved his life, he gave either Michal's other children or adopted children of her sister and Saul's grandchildren up to be SACRIFICED. He left only one crippled boy of Saul to survive.
Thou shalt yet plant vines upon the mountains of Samaria: the planters shall plant, and shall eat them as common things. Jer. 31:5
Chalal (h2490) khaw-lal'; a prim. root [comp. 2470]; prop. to bore, i. e. (by impl.) to wound, to dissolve; fig. to profane (a person, place or thing), to break (one's word), to begin (as if by an "opening wedge"); denom. (from 2485) to play (the flute): - begin (* men began), defile, * break, defile, * eat (as common things), * first, * gather the grape thereof, * take inheritance, pipe, player on instruments, pollute, (cast as) profane (self), prostitute, slay (slain), sorrow, stain, wound.
Halal (h1984) is the PRAISE word by which David with instruments and dance MADE HIMSELF VILE as he got naked with the camp followers. This is the source of the word for LUCIFER--the singing and harp playing prostitute. (g1966)
For there shall be a day,
..........that the watchmen upon the mount Ephraim shall cry,
..........Arise ye, and let us go up to Zion unto the Lord our God. Jer. 31:6Alfred Edersheim speaks of the musical processions:
Of course every family could not always have sent its representatives to Jerusalem. But this difficulty was provided for. It will be remembered that as the priests and the Levites, so all Israel, were divided into twenty-four courses, who were represented in the Sanctuary by the so-called 'standing men,' or 'men of the station.'
This implied a corresponding division of the land into twenty-four districts or circuits. In the capital of each district assembled those who were to go up with the firstfruits to the Temple.
Though all Israel were brethren, and especially at such times would have been welcomed with the warmest hospitality each home could offer, yet none might at that season avail himself of it.
For they must camp at night in the open air, and not spend it in any house, lest some accidental defilement from the dead, or otherwise, might render them unfit for service, or their oblation unclean.
The journey was always to be made slowly, for the pilgrimage was to be a joy and a privilege, not a toil or weariness. In the morning, as the golden sunlight tipped the mountains of Moab, the stationary man of the district, who was the leader,
summoned the ranks of the procession in the words of Jeremiah 31:6: 'Arise ye, and let us go up to Zion, and unto Jehovah our God.'
To which the people replied, as they formed and moved onwards, in the appropriate language of Psalm 122: 'I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of Jehovah.'
First went one who played the pipe;
then followed a sacrificial bullock, destined for a peace-offering, his horns gilt and garlanded with olive-branches;
next came the multitude, some carrying the baskets with the firstfruits, others singing the Psalms, which many writers suppose to have been specially destined for that service, and hence to have been called 'the Songs of Ascent'; in our Authorised Version 'the Psalms of Degrees.'
The poorer brought their gifts in wicker baskets, which afterwards belonged to the officiating priests; the richer theirs in baskets of silver or of gold, which were given to the Temple treasury. In each basket was arranged, with vine-leaves between them,
first the barley, then the wheat, then the olives; next the dates, then the pomegranates, then the figs; while above them all clustered, in luscious beauty, the rich swelling grapes.
However, Isaiah 30 has God asking MUST YE ALWAYS GO IN PROCESSIONS? God warns the Egyptians, Assyrians and Israel that they will be destroyed to the BEAT of musical instruments.
These would never be literal Israel but spiritual Israel.
God specificially condemned the musical processions because they were used as they went to sacrifice children in the red hot armos of the image, Molech. God would destroy Israel TO THE BEAT OF MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS just as He would destroy Egypt and Assyria.
For thus saith the Lord;
..........Sing with gladness for Jacob, and
..........shout among the chief of the nations:
..........publish ye, praise ye, and say,
..........O Lord, save thy people, the remnant of Israel. Jer. 31:7Like as a woman with child, that draweth near the time of her delivery, is in pain, and crieth out in her pangs; so have we been in thy sight, O Lord. Isa 26:17
We have been with child, we have been in pain, we have as it were brought forth wind; we have not wrought any deliverance in the earth; neither have the inhabitants of the world fallen. Isa 26:18
Thy dead men shall live, together with my dead body shall they arise. Awake and sing, ye that dwell in dust: for thy dew is as the dew of herbs, and the earth shall cast out the dead. Is.26:19
In the book of Revelation the DEAD VIRGINS hold instruments but are never seen PLAYING harps. This was a common theme: the dead are blessed and happy and the best example of idle joy was playing the harp or other instrument. On the tombstones people are bringing instruments to the dead. However, those who BRING the instruments are never seen playing them.
The message to the LIVING from the other angel was to PREACH THE GOSPEL.
If you are a dead virgin then be assured that YOU will have no human duties to perform and you can eat, drink and be merry. Unti ten DON'T TRY IT.
Come, my people, enter thou into thy chambers, and shut thy doors about thee: hide thyself as it were for a little moment, until the indignation be overpast. Isa 26:20
For, behold, the Lord cometh out of his place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity: the earth also shall disclose her blood, and shall no more cover her slain. Isa 26:21
Thus saith the Lord; I am returned unto Zion, and will dwell in the midst of Jerusalem: and Jerusalem shall be called a city of truth; and the mountain of the Lord of hosts the holy mountain. Zech 8:3
This is part of Jeremiah's dream for the nation. However, Jesus denied that the Jewish clergy were Israelites even though they had Abraham for a father. John in Revelation identifies the literal Jerusalem as SODOM. Hagar, Mount Sinai, Jerusalem and Sodom are terms for the prostitute church.
Because at baptism we are translated into a HEAVENLY KINGDOM, it is right that Paul insists that we SPEAK to TEACH but that our singing and melody be IN THE HEART where God looks for our worship.
Thus saith the Lord of hosts; There shall yet old men and old women dwell in the streets of Jerusalem, and every man with his staff in his hand for very age. Zech 8:4
And the streets of the city shall be full of boys and girls playing in the streets thereof. Zech 8:5
Thus saith the Lord of hosts; If it be marvellous in the eyes of the remnant of this people in these days, should it also be marvellous in mine eyes? saith the Lord of hosts. Zech 8:6
Jeremiah DREAMS that God is not impressed at that which the children thought impossible and shouted about.
The children might play as children do but Israel USED music in their RELIGIOUS FESTIVALS. Tyre was also sentenced to a seventy year captivity to help cure them of musical idolatry but it did not cure them:
And it shall come to pass in that day, that Tyre shall be forgotten seventy years, according to the days of one king: after the end of seventy years shall Tyre sing as an harlot. Isa 23:15
The song of the prostitute was:
Take an harp, go about the city, thou harlot that hast been forgotten; make sweet melody, sing many songs, that thou mayest be remembered. Isa 23: 16
And it shall come to pass after the end of seventy years, that the Lord will visit Tyre,
and she shall turn to her hire, and shall commit fornication with all the kingdoms of the world upon the face of the earth. Isa 23: 17
Therefore thus saith the Lord; Thy wife shall be an harlot in the city, and thy sons and thy daughters shall fall by the sword, and thy land shall be divided by line; and thou shalt die in a polluted land: and Israel shall surely go into captivity forth of his land. Am.7:17
What goes on in the STREETS has nothing to do with WORSHIP. These are the symptoms of people WHO HAVE NO PERSONAL DUTIES TO PERFORM.
What is the meaning of PLAYING?
Sachaq (h7832) saw-khak'; a prim. root; to laugh (in pleasure or detraction); by impl. to play: - deride, have in derision, laugh, make merry, mock (-er), play, rejoice, (laugh to) scorn, be in (make) sport.
And David and all the house of Israel played before the Lord on all manner of instruments made of fir wood, even on harps, and on psalteries, and on timbrels, and on cornets, and on cymbals. 2S.6:5
h7832 is identical to h6711 based on the SPORTING of Samson: when Samson ground in the king's house he was USED as a male prostitute. When Israel ROSE UP TO PLAY at Mount Sinai this was singing, dancing, playing instruments and engaging in perverted sex.
"The triumphal hymn of Moses had unquestionably a religious character about it; but the employment of music in religious services, though idolatrous, is more distinctly marked in the festivities which attended the erection of the golden calf." (Smith's Bible Dictionary, Music, p. 589).
Ephraim Syrus On Our Lord notes that Sinai was a test. The Israelites were consummate idolaters in Egypt. However, God gave them one more shot at the Abrahamic Covenant. By removing Moses as a visible "authority figure" He wanted to let them answer their own prayer:
18. But when their heathenism from being inward became open, then Moses also from being hidden openly appeared; that he might openly punish those whose heathenism had revelled beneath the holy cloud which had overshadowed them.
But God removed the Shepherd of the flock from it for forty days, that the flock might show that its trust was fixed upon the calf.
And he was there in the wilderness forty days tempted of Satan; and was with the wild beasts; and the angels ministered unto him. Mark 1:13
While God was feeding the flock with all delights, it chose for itself as its Shepherd the calf, which was not able even to eat.
Moses who kept them in awe was removed from them, that the idolatry might cry aloud in their mouths,
which the restraint of Moses had kept down in their hearts. For they cried: Make us gods, to go before us.
19. But when Moses came down, he saw their heathenism revelling in the wide plain with drums and cymbals.
Speedily, he put their madness to shame by means of the Levites and drawn swords.
So likewise here, our Lord concealed His knowledge for a little when the sinful woman approached Him, that the Pharisee might form into shape his thought,
as his fathers had shaped the pernicious calf.Comparing the musical worship of Israel to all of those nations whom Israel demanded to be like as they "fired" the God of righteousness and justice, Gurney notes of the successful movement of the ark by the king and his civil team after his musical move including the "congregation"--
"we recognize the same elements: the sacrifices and libation, the cultic feast in which the congregation gets a share of food and drink after it has been blessed by the king, and the merry-making, now in the form of instrumental and vocal music. But the central act of the ritual, which was performed by the king, is called literally 'drinking' the god (Gurney, O. R. Some Aspects of Hittite Religion, p. 33-34, Oxford University Press, 1977)
This repeat of the Mount Sinai musical idolatry was repeated by Amos and other writers including Stephen in Acts 7.
Behold, I will bring them from the north country, and gather them from the coasts of the earth, and with them the blind and the lame, the woman with child and her that travaileth with child together: a great company shall return thither. Jer. 31:8
They shall come with weeping, and with supplications will I lead them:
..........I will cause them to walk by the rivers of waters in a straight way,
..........wherein they shall not stumble: for I am a father to Israel, and Ephraim is my firstborn. Jer. 31:9Hear the word of the Lord, O ye nations, and declare it in the isles afar off, and say,
..........He that scattered Israel will gather him, and keep him, as a shepherd doth his flock. Jer. 31:10For the Lord hath redeemed Jacob, and ransomed him from the hand of him that was stronger than he. Jer. 31:11
Therefore they shall come and sing in the height of Zion,
..........and shall flow together to the goodness of the Lord,
..........for wheat, and for wine, and for oil, and for the young of the flock and of the herd:
..........and their soul shall be as a watered garden;
..........and they shall not sorrow any more at all. Jer. 31:12Singing was never MUSIC and was never in the SYNAGOGUE where the common people met:
Ranan (h7422) raw-nan'; a prim. root; prop. to creak (or emit a stridulous sound), i. e. to shout (usually for joy): - aloud for joy, cry out, be joyful, (greatly, make to) rejoice, (cause to) shout (for joy), (cause to) sing (aloud, for joy, out), triumph.
This was the very common harvest festival and not a religious ritual performed by professionals.
Then shall the virgin rejoice in the dance, both young men and old together: for I will turn their mourning into joy, and will comfort them, and make them rejoice from their sorrow. Jer. 31:13
And I will satiate the soul of the priests with fatness, and my people shall be satisfied with my goodness, saith the Lord. Jer. 31:14
The tribe of Levi got 10% of the FOOD PRODUCTS only from the FREE LANDS only 2 out of 7 years. This food fed that part of the tribe which HAD NOT BOUGHT their own farms. The tribe gave 10% of that 10% to the PRIESTS to be used ONLY when they were on duty in the temple slaughtering tens of thousands of innocent animals as TYPES of Jesus Christ.
However, this FAT LIVING did not change the hearts of the people who would be destroyed:
Thus saith the Lord; A voice was heard in Ramah, lamentation, and bitter weeping;
..........Rahel weeping for her children refused to be comforted for her children, because they were not. Jer. 31:15Thus saith the Lord; Refrain thy voice from weeping, and thine eyes from tears: for thy work shall be rewarded, saith the Lord; and they shall come again from the land of the enemy. Jer. 31:16
And there is hope in thine end, saith the Lord, that thy children shall come again to their own border. Jer. 31:17
I have surely heard Ephraim bemoaning himself thus; Thou hast chastised me, and I was chastised, as a bullock unaccustomed to the yoke: turn thou me, and I shall be turned; for thou art the Lord my God. Jer. 31: 18
Surely after that I was turned, I repented; and after that I was instructed, I smote upon my thigh: I was ashamed, yea, even confounded, because I did bear the reproach of my youth. Jer. 31:19
Is Ephraim my dear son? is he a pleasant child? for since I spake against him, I do earnestly remember him still: therefore my bowels are troubled for him; I will surely have mercy upon him, saith the Lord. Jer. 31:20
Set thee up waymarks, make thee high heaps: set thine heart toward the highway, even the way which thou wentest: turn again, O virgin of Israel, turn again to these thy cities. Jer. 31:21
How long wilt thou go about, O thou backsliding daughter? for the Lord hath created a new thing in the earth, A woman shall compass a man. Jer. 31:22
Thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, As yet they shall use this speech in the land of Judah and in the cities thereof, when I shall bring again their captivity; The Lord bless thee, O habitation of justice, and mountain of holiness. Jer. 31:23
And there shall dwell in Judah itself, and in all the cities thereof together, husbandmen, and they that go forth with flocks. Jer. 31:24
For I have satiated the weary soul, and I have replenished every sorrowful soul. Jer. 31:25Upon this I awaked, and beheld; and my sleep was sweet unto me. Jer. 31:26
Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, that I will sow the house of Israel and the house of Judah
..........with the seed of man, and with the seed of beast. Jer. 31:27And it shall come to pass, that like as I have watched over them, to pluck up, and to break down, and to throw down, and to destroy, and to afflict; so will I watch over them, to build, and to plant, saith the Lord. Jer. 31:28
In those days they shall say no more, The fathers have eaten a sour grape, and the childrens teeth are set on edge. Jer. 31:29
But every one shall die for his own iniquity: every man that eateth the sour grape, his teeth shall be set on edge. Jer. 31:30
Now, the prophecy of the NEW COVENANT has nothing to do with the joy of the harvest festivals which fed their human bodies but never their souls.
Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: Jer. 31:31
But we do not trust through Moses or through the law; for then we would do the same as yourselves. But now -(for I have read
.......... that there shall be a final law, and a covenant, the chiefest of all,
.......... which it is now incumbent on all men to observe,
.......... as many as are seeking after the inheritance of God.
Heb 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him:
for he that cometh to God must believe that he is,
and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.For the law promulgated on Horeb is now old, and belongs to yourselves alone; but this is for all universally.
Now, law placed against law has abrogated that which is before it,
.......... and a covenant which comes after in like manner has put an end to the previous one.
...... ....and an eternal and final law-namely, Christ-has been given to us,
.......... and the covenant is trustworthy,
.......... after which there shall be no law, no commandment, no ordinance. [Old Testament]
Have you not read this which Isaiah says: "Hearken unto Me, hearken unto Me, my people; and, ye kings, give ear unto Me:
.......... for a law shall go forth from Me, and
.......... My judgment shall be for a light to the nations.
.......... My righteousness approaches swiftly, and
.......... My salvation shall go forth, and
.......... nations shall trust in Mine arm? ' LXX, Isa. li. 4, 5.And by Jeremiah, concerning this same new covenant, He thus speaks: "Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah; not according to the covenant which I made with their fathers, in the day that I took them by the hand, to bring them out of the land of Egypt'
Isa 51:4 Hearken unto me, my people; and give ear unto me,
O my nation: for a law shall proceed from me,
and I will make my judgment to rest for a light of the people.Isa 51:5 My righteousness is near;
my salvation is gone forth, and
mine arms shall judge the people;
the isles shall wait upon me,
and on mine arm shall they trust.

Isa 59:15 Yea, truth faileth; and he that departeth from evil maketh himself a prey.

..........and wondered that there was no intercessor:
..........therefore his arm brought salvation unto him;
..........and his righteousness, it sustained him.Isa 59:17 For he put on righteousness as a breastplate,

.. ........to the islands he will repay recompense.
.......... for the heavens shall vanish away like smoke,
.......... and the earth shall wax old like a garment,
.......... and they that dwell therein shall die in like manner:
.......... but my salvation shall be for ever, and
.......... my righteousness shall not be abolished.Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers, in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt;
which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the Lord: Jer. 31:32Note above that the MUSICAL IDOLATRY of the ADULTS was the "because of transgression" for which God removed the Book of The Covenant. Their musical idolatry was a PRAYER to be able to worship the starry hosts. God answered their prayer but cursed them with the Law of Moses whose laws "were not good" any more than a law against murder cannot change the heart.
Then believed they his words; they sang his praise. Psa 106:12
........... They soon forgat his works; they waited not for his counsel: Psa 106:13But lusted exceedingly in the wilderness, and tempted God in the desert. Psa 106:14
........... And he gave them their request; but sent leanness into their soul. Psa 106:15God in Christ promised to make us HIS disciples through the Word by baptism and ongoing teaching. Peter claimed that He would give us A holy spirit or A clear conscience or consiousness. This means A co-perception so that we can HEAR the Spirit Word in our cleansed human spirit or mind.
Jesus as "son" spoke only what He heard from the "father" who was within Him.
Paul insisted that we TEACH or SPEAK the Biblical songs and leave the singing and melody IN THE HEART.
Paul insisted that the elders "teach that which has been taught."
He told the Romans in chapter 15 to glorify God with "that which is written" with ONE MOUTH and ONE MIND.
Paul commanded Timothy to "give attendance to the public reading" and to exhorting that which HAD BEEN READ and to teach the DOCTRINE contained in that passage.
If you allow a hired middle man to stand between you and God then the NEW COVENANT cannot be fulfilled.
But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the Lord,
..........I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people. Jer. 31:33
And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the Lord:
..........for I will forgive their iniquity, and
..........I will remember their sin no more. Jer. 31:34Thus saith the Lord,
..........which giveth the sun for a light by day,
..........and the ordinances of the moon and of the stars for a light by night,
..........which divideth the sea when the waves thereof roar; The Lord of hosts is his name: Jer. 31:35
Jews rejected the Light
If those ordinances depart from before me, saith the Lord,
..........then the seed of Israel also shall cease from being a nation before me for ever. Jer. 31:36These are the laws which God will put into the human heart, mind or spirit.
Thus saith the Lord; If heaven above can be measured, and the foundations of the earth searched out beneath,
..........I will also cast off all the seed of Israel for all that they have done, saith the Lord. Jer. 31:37Behold, the days come, saith the Lord,
..........that the city shall be built to the Lord from the tower of Hananeel unto the gate of the corner. Jer. 31:38And the measuring line shall yet go forth over against it upon the hill Gareb, and shall compass about to Goath. Jer. 31:39

And the whole valley of the dead bodies, and of the ashes, and all the fields unto the brook of Kidron, unto the corner of the horse gate toward the east, shall be holy unto the Lord; it shall not be plucked up, nor thrown down any more for ever. Jer. 31:40
