Al Maxey: Jesus drank wine (false) and this proves that Instrumental Music may be used in worship (false). Al is on a legalistic scavenger hunt trying to find SOMETHING (Anything) which will say: People violated the Law, God didn't condemn them, therefore it is ok if we break the law by ADDING instrumental music when there is NO use of music in the entire Bible for congregational worship. Moreover, it is condemned as telling God: we will not listen to YOUR words.

Those imposing musical instruments build their faith on the Levites defined by the Scribes: Jesus defined them as hypocrites and Christ in the Ezekiel 33 example named speakers, singers and instrument players.

The first two reasons assert that under the Old Testament, God did not just allow instrumental music, He commanded and blessed it. Rick offered the following passages for these contentions: 2 Chronicles 5:13-14; 7:6; 29:25-26; Psalm 33:1- 3; 92:1-3; 150:1-6.

THE PROPHECIES BY CHRIST WERE FULFILLED BY JESUS CHRIST: JESUS AND PETER MAKES THE APOSTLES AND PROPHETS THE ONLY TRUTH.

When Solomon's "music grove" was turned into topheth because the tabret and other musical instruments were played there as the children were burned in the red-hot arms of Molech, God's violence would make the temples again look like gardens:

And he hath violently taken away his tabernacle, as if it were of a garden; he hath destroyed his places of the assembly: the Lord hath caused the solemn feasts and sabbaths to be forgotten in Zion, and hath despised in the indignation of his anger the king and the priest. Lam 2:6

The Lord hath cast off his altar (candlestick), he hath abhorred his sanctuary, he hath given up into the hand of the enemy the walls of her palaces; they have made a noise in the house of the Lord, as in the day of a solemn feast. Lam 2:7

Al Maxey: There is an interpretive precept circulating among certain elements within Christendom (and largely among conservative brethren of the American Restoration Movement) that suggests biblical silence is to be regarded as prohibitive in nature.

This is a somewhat radical, and at times fanatical, hermeneutical persuasion that if God said nothing about some doctrine or practice (neither pro nor con) then that doctrine or practice is ipso facto forever excluded, and to go against this so-called "Law of Silence" is to SIN against God and risk one's very salvation

However SILENT Al thinks God is, he has no authority to make up for God's failure to see that MUSIC which is universally recognized to be of Satan has some redeeming value to those like Al who has been trained to accept music.

This "music" in the Restoration Movement was imposed totally based on the LAW OF SILENCE to create musical SECTARIANISM. This was in the face of over 18 centuries of churches which called themselves the church of Christ, rejected music as spirit- destroying and BELIEVED that the Bible SHOUTS against music as a work of the flesh being brought into His presence in the throne room of grace.

However, here is who is replacing LORD JESUS CHRIST as the One and Only Mediator:

"I love worship! I love to praise God in song -- to take part in something that He ordained and that man has been participating in since creation. My goals are simple -- to give God all the praise, honor and glory that He deserves, and

to lead people to His throne
so that they can honor Him with heartfelt praise and adoration." Chuch Jones

A singer or musician who entered into even the earthly throne room would be executed: even if he was cleaning out the garbage.

However, all of church history including the Catholic theological position repudiated the use of MECHANICAL instruments in the worship. As late as 1911 instruments could not be played in the mass for the pope. This is why the CASTRATED A Cappella style was invented specificially for the Sistine chapel.

"The triumphal hymn of Moses had unquestionably a religious character about it; but the employment of music in religious services, though idolatrous, is more distinctly marked in the festivities which attended the erection of the golden calf." (Smith's Bible Dictionary, Music, p. 589).

"And the people celebrated this feast with burnt-offerings and thank-offerings, with eating and drinking, i.e. with sacrificial meals and sports, or with loud rejoicing, shouting, antiphonal songs, and dances, in the same manner in which the Egyptians celebrated their feast of Apis (Herod. 2, 60, and 3, 27)." According to Paul in Romans.

Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Rom 1:21

Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. Rom 1:25

The serpent or NACHASH is related to "ringing bell metal" and to musical enchanting. He WHOLLY SEDUCED Eve and Adam went willingly: this was always recognized as SODOMY. The Kabiri were Genii as in Genun:

Also a note: "they occupied Bactriana, and acquired possession of the best land in Armenia"),

were given as armed ministers to Rhea by the Titans.

What awake person cannot see the connection between secular music now CONFISCATED as Contemporary Christian Music (the ultimate oxymoron) and the plague of sexual perversion?

HEARING THE MYSTERIES HIDDEN IN ALL MUSICAL TERMS AND NAMES OF INSTRUMENTS.

Lucifer who was in the garden of Eden came equipped with WIND, STRING and PERCUSSION instruments.

The ORGAN (Pipes) which Jubal HANDLED was WITHOUT AUTHORITY.

In the Babylonian tablets it was INANNA who got Ea the patron god of music drunk and stole the power of the eldership, going through the GATES OF HELL, playing musical instruments and PERVERTED SEXUALITY.

In the Book of Enoch and similar documents God will come with ten thousands of His Saints to judge those who fell for Satan's TRICK of introducing mixed-sex choirs, instrumental music, drinking wine and sexual perversion.

The ORGAN was considered VILE and the players in danger.

"Its (pipe = 'to love passionately') was apparently a secular instrument and is never listed in the temple orchestra; only in Ps. 150:4 it is mentioned in a religious (but not ritual) function. Its ethos was not blameless at all, ase we see from Genesis Rabbah 50: 'The angels said to Lot: 'There are players of the pipe (organ) in the country, hence it ought to be destroyed.'" The same hebrew word is used for Play the Flute, Pollute and Prostitute.

The harp or NEBEL comes from the meaning of NABAL a vile person.

The TAMBOURINE or Tabret is quite identical to TOPHETH once king Solomon's music grove, where babies were burned to MOLECH to the beat of all kinds of musical instruments.

The SINGING words are intimately related to the prostitute women or minstrels.

PLAYING was associated with the Sodomites.

Literate scholars troubled about the UNIVERSAL connection between all MUSICAL TERMS and the NAMES OF ISTRUMENTS had to come up with a solution: they decided that "God saw how successful Satan was with music and DECIDED to adopt it for HIMSELF."

The end time Holy Whore identifed at the time of John as Kirke or Circe who seduced people with music and enchanting songs. The CHURCH adopted her name to SILENCE the Word of God in the ASSEMBLY or SYNAGOGUE. She will again be destroyed along with her MUSIC and MUSICIANS.

Based on the meaning of PSALM or SING Paul defined the FIRST INSTRUMENT OF CHOICE as the human voice and heart. Nor was this MUSICAL: it was reading or chanting the Biblical psalms and not SINGING as defined by Al Maxey's baby boomer (infantile drummer) culture.

HEARING THE LOUD DRUM THE GRACELESS CANNOT HEAR.

God prophesied that in contending for the faith in the time of Jesus:

I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him. Deut 18:18

And it shall come to pass, that whosoever will not hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him. Deut 18:19

But the prophet, which shall presume to speak a word in my name,
which I have not commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other gods,

As Jesus fired the "doctors of the Law" for taking away the key to knowledge, Peter warned preachers or "mediators" for all times that they have no right to change the inspired Words of the Spirit of Christ (1 Pet 1:11) without endangering their own souls and the souls of the church for which Christ died. Private interpretation is really contemporary preaching which does not have understanding the text as its object:

That means that no book writer, preacher or presumed prophet can add one bit to the free Word (Isaiah 55:1f) which alters its intent. How then is the Word to be used? Well remember the context:

And we have the word of the prophets made more certain, and you will do well to pay attention to it, as to a light shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts. 2 Peter 1:19

That is to prevent Al Maxey from FURTHER EXPOUNDING to ASSIST the Spirit and for a wage!

Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. 2 Peter 1:20

That is to keep Al Maxey from claiming to be superior to the Holy Spirit

And that is to MARK people who violate this LAW OF GOD as false PROFITS!

So, we have commands, examples and inferences from God and we have anyone who would assign it to just the interpretation of waring apostles is in trouble.

HEARING FROM DEAF EARS AND BLIND EYES

Al Maxey: For example, there is no direct reference in the New Testament documents to instruments of music aiding or accompanying singing in a corporate worship setting. Therefore, according to this so-called "Law of Silence," the use of instruments is a potentially soul-damning abomination in the sight of God.

I have reviewed the same words from David Faust, Rick Atchley etal. Parables hide truth from those with no need to know. Here is one Mark Henderson missed:

Matt. 11:15 He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.
Matt. 11:16 But whereunto shall I liken this generation?
It is like unto [1] children sitting in the [2] markets, and calling unto their fellows,
Matt. 11:17 And saying, We have [3] piped unto you, and ye have not [4] danced;
we have [5] mourned unto you, and ye have not [6] lamented.

Shouldn't that make any preacher check to see if his ears have been raptured? Music insists on dancing: even Psalms 150.

Al didn't TAKE the course which taught that the synagogue (Qahal) existed as the "church" in the Wilderness translated as Ekklesia. Nor, did he grasp that the TRIUMPH music and rejoicing was not to be used in the synagogue which was for instructing the pople. He missed the whole Mount Sinai experience and the fact that the LAW which he sees as authority for music was ADDED BECAUSE OF TRANSGRESSION. That transgression being to RISE UP TO PLAY which was musical idolatry.

John Calvin will confirm our thesis that the synagogue was the "church in the wilderness" and that TRIUMPHING OVER which was noisy music and rejoicing was OUTLAWED.

This is confirmed by the fact that the "people's congregation" never worshiped with singing and music.

Al missed that Psalm 41 prophesied that Judas would try to TRIUMPH over Jesus and that the Dead Sea Scrolls clearly defines this is MUSICAL MOCKING. After all, Al, the Levitical sounders were organized under the KING and the COMMANDERS OF THE ARMY. They created the signal and panic music to melt the heart of the enemy. And, didn't Jesus cast out THE MUSICAL WORSHIP TEAM more or less violently to make it certain that the MAGICAL TEAMS did not create LIFE. Al, what about the Babylon Whore in Revelation 18?

HEARING THAT YOU CANNOT SPEAK AND SING AT THE SAME TIME!

If Al was correct it is because there is NOTHING said about SINGING in the music sense in the entire Bible connected to spiritual worship. Rather, READING 101AAA has Paul say:

Romans 15: "Glorify God with ONE VOICE" using "that which is written."

The divisive background in Romans 14 was between Orphic and Dionysiac worship both of which used music which destroyed the teaching and GLORIFIED the always- effeminate performers. There is nothing about external singing or music in Pauls solution in Romans 15.

Ephesians 5: "Speak to one another" and "sing and make melody IN THE HEART."

Colossians 3: "Teach and Admonish" one another with THE INSPIRED TEXT.

they were to FILL up with the Spirit which is the Words of Christ. Then they were to SPEAK or PREACH, TEACH and ADMONISH. These are all SPEAKING ROLES.

It is utterly IMPOSSIBLE to SPEAK and SING at the same time unless you have a forked tongue. Scholars at the time understood that singing was a purely SECULAR practice and EXTERNAL MELODY did not speak of MUSIC. Rather, MELODY speaks to the panic music of warriors or the mind- altering practices of male and female prostitute performers.

How do I know that they did not SING audibly while SPEAKING to TEACH OR PREACH? The Britannica notes:

"The production of musical tones by means of the human voice. It is the oldest form of music making. ... What distinguishes singing from speaking is the manner in which the breath is expended to vibrate the vocal cords.

Modern Western styles of singing largely derive from the Italian bel canto , which had its origin in a style associated with the polyphonic music of the 16th century. Britannica, Sing

Now Hannah, she spake in her heart; only her lips moved, but her voice was not heard: therefore Eli thought she had been drunken. 1 Sam 1:13

It is utterly IMPOSSIBLE to SPEAK and SING at the same time. In fact the word SPEAK is the OPPOSITE of poetry or music.

And you CANNOT meditate in your HEART and play an instrument at the same time. Why is that too hard to grasp.

HEARING DAVID'S PATTERN OF SINGING AND MAKING MELODY IN THE HEART.

The Psalmist knew the concept of teaching the Word to others but letting the singing and melody be in the heart and directed to God. I want you to remember that David was one of the KINGS "giving in God's anger and taken away in his anger." They were SECULAR rulers and not MUSICAL WORSHIP MINISTERS.

Paul defined ONLY the inspired Biblical text. The DIRECT COMMAND was to TEACH or PREACH and ADMONISH one another: the command was NOT to SING your own silly erotic praise songs which REPUDIATES God by repudiating the PURPOSE of the Psalms and how the ASSEMBLY (synagogue) MUST teach so that others can SING to God or MAKE MELODY IN THE HEARTS as the worship component.

If you don't do that it MATTERS NOT whether you sing secular praise songs with or without instruments.

> My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness;

         and my mouth shall praise thee with joyful lips: Psalm 63:5

> When I remember thee upon my bed,

         and meditate on thee in the night watches. Psalm 63:6

> I call to remembrance my song in the night:

         I commune with mine own heart:

> I will meditate (murmur to myself) also of all thy work,

         and talk (to myself h7878) of thy doings. Ps.77:12

Muse is:

Siyach (h7878) see'-akh; a prim. root; to ponder, i. e. (by impl.) converse (with oneself, and hence aloud) or (trans.) utter: - commune, complain, declare, meditate, muse, pray, speak, talk (with).

For those with eyes, look at how the Psalms were used and how Paul ISSUED A DIRECT COMMANDMENT to teach and admonish one another with the POETIC MATERIAL so that even the "plowman can sing and make melody to God."

Hilary (A.D. 355) says:

"In the songs of Zion, both old and young, men and women, bore a part;
their psalmody was the joint act of the whole assembly in unison."
Chrysostom says: "It was the ancient custom, as it is still the custom with us, for all to come together and unitedly join in singing. The young and old, rich and poor, male and female bond and free all join in the song."

Jerome says: "Go where you will, the plowman at his plow sings his joyful hallelujahs, the busy mower regales himself with his psalms, and the vinedresser is singing one of the psalms of David."

HEARING AS LEARNING AND NEVER AS MAKING MUSIC.

You, Al and all of the NEW STYLE WORSHIPERS, are STEALING the role of TEACHING one another. God's Word was that God's Words be put in the hearts and spirits of the people to be used in their private WORSHIP. This worship is individual and day and night rather than your APPOINTMENT TO MEET GOD to let the MUSICIANS pollute the minds of the youth and as Jesus warned about doctors of the law: TAKE AWAY THE KEY TO KNOWLEDGE.

And FOR A PRICE, ALWAYS FOR A PRICE!

Now, see how the PATTERNISM from David to Paul had a DIRECT COMMAND and SILENCE is heard only by those whose eyes have been blinded and ears plugged:

Sing praises to the LORD (singular), enthroned in Zion;
........... proclaim among the nations what he has done. Psalm 9:11

Al Maxey who loves legalists "to death" says: "Thank you Lord for the pay but please have me excused!

Older scholars understanding the original language see the NACHASH or serpent who was ZOE called "the beast and the female instructing principle" as a MUSICAL ENCHANTER. Furthermore, they define the SIN of eating as SODOMY. The DIONYSUS singing and dancing would have them INITIATING Jesus into Sodomy.

The UNIVERSAL picture of "musical worship" in the Ancient Near East, The Bible, the Classical writers, church Fathers and contemporary culture is that MUSICIANS especially in worship were SEXUALLY and EMOTIONALLY abnormal.

Why, then does Al Maxey need a DIRECT COMMAND to say: "Thou shalt not jump off a tall building." Al and his MUSICIANS are the ONLY ones who use the LAW OF SILENCE which HE says threatenes His salvation.

Al Maxey: Another innovation was the addition of drink to this Passover feast as part of the religious ritual. Four cups of wine had been added by the rabbis to the Passover celebration. These were not just for the purpose of "washing down the food," a mere "incidental," as a few have feebly sought to suggest, but these cups of wine were specially and purposefully added for their spiritual significance to the feast itself. The Jews themselves admit that these cups of wine were "a Rabbinic tradition," with a specific religious purpose, and thus were not originally part of the divine directive, nor were they merely "incidental to the Passover itself." "By New Testament times the Passover observance had features ADDED to those already SPECIFIED in the Old Testament .... At various intervals four cups of wine, a symbol of joy, were consumed" (International Standard Bible Encyclopedia, volume 3, page 677).

First, you have to grasp that Passover was a FAMILY devotion: no one "sang Twila Paris and twanged the harp as an UNAUTHORIZED act of worship."
Second, even from the beginning the Passover of ROASTED LAMB (never changed even for Jesus) was connected to the FEAST OF UNLEAVENED bread. AFTER the Passover Jesus instituted the Lord's Supper with the unfermented juice.

You can not spiritually discern the meaning of the SPIRIT LIKE A DOVE unless you have a minimal grasp of the connection between the BABYLON HARLOT and the dove as HER symbol. In all paganism which was usually goddess worship the MOTHER of the Goddess rested on her DAUGHTER like a dove. By using the dove symbolism Jesus Christ is declared to be the Son of a Father. This repudiates matriarchal (musical) worship and declares that God is MASCULINE in nature.

In the same way, the institution of the Lord's Supper repudiates the false PASSOVER developed in Babylon as Esther tried to mitigate the evils. The result of the FOUR CUPS is that

God turned the TRAITOR Haman over to be HANGED in place of Mordecai.

They were called FESTIVALS OF WINE and not the Jewish Passover.

Jesus used the FIFTH CUP to fulfill expectations to prove that John had become the forerunner and that He would institute the "New Testament in His blood" and not the blood of animals.

Jesus turned the TRAITOR Judas over to Satan and to be hanged.

The INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC mystery is dispensed with along with the drunken Passover.

As to the Babylonian- induced Passover the wine was not spiritual: they added four cups of intoxicants to GET DRUNK.

IF Jesus approved this the He commanded us to GET DRUNK.

"a man is bound to get so drunk with wine at Purim as not to know the difference between, 'Cursed is Naaman and Blessed is Mordecai.'" (Talmud, Megillah 2:7)

Next, the word EAT means to consume:

And he took butter, and milk, and the calf which he had dressed, and set it before them; and he stood by them under the tree, and they did eat. Ge.18:8

Therefore, when they ATE they CONSUMED and therefore DRANK. However, the Passover consisted of eating flesh and drinking was an approved precedent probably beginning with Adam and Eve.

The new wine skin religion of Jubilee 99 has no foundation in Scripture. Rather, it is based upon the tradition of the elders which Jesus condemned. Yeast in bread, which came from wine, was absolutely prohibited when the Passover was observed:

"For seven days no yeast is to be found in your houses. And whoever eats anything with yeast in it must be cut off from the community of Israel, whether he is an alien or native-born. Exo 12:19

Eat (consume) nothing made with yeast. Wherever you live, you must eat unleavened bread." Exo 12:20

"Do not offer the blood of a sacrifice to me along with anything containing yeast. "The fat of my festival offerings must not be kept until morning. Exo 23:18

Wine was NOT used in the celebration of the Passover until Hellenistic times. Then, among the spiritually minded, it must be "boiled" wine or fresh from the vat. The faithful Jews understood this because--

"It may be possible that the use of wine replaced an earlier custom of offering blood; however this may be, wine was often treated as if it were blood,

and was thus poured out at the base of the altar (See Ecclus. 50:15; cf. Jos. Antiq. III.ix.4).

While there would usually be some product of fermentation in any older juice, Jesus POURED IT out for others. Since the image of Jesus being crucified to pour out His blood has Him THIRSTING, what did they do? they gave him vinegar or ACID. He RECEIVED it because they shoved it to his mouth but it is not said that he DRANK it. At the touch He said "it is finished" and just GAVE UP THE GHOST.

Change Agents Add New Wine Skins At Passover. It is a fact that WINE was not mentioned in connection with the Passover.

"There is no mention of wine in connection with Passover in the Pentateuch; but the Mishna strictly enjoins that there should not be less than 4 cups.

Two of these are mentioned in Lk. 22:17,20. 'The cup of blessing' I Cor 10:16 is probably the latter of these." (Smith's Dictionary of the Bible).

However, later Jews corrupted the Passover to make it into a literal wineskins Passover. For instance, there was "the tradition of the clergy" and there was the teaching by Jesus. They always differed radically.

The story of Esther leads to a FEAST to the Defeat of Jehovah. The Jews participated as much as they could.

Read the story of how the WINE FEAST which REPLACED the regular feast was a Triumph over the defeat of Jehovah:

"To add insult to injury, Achashverosh invited the Jews to the feast as well. He told them: "Torah is proven false, so give up your hope and join us." Unfortunately, many Jews succumbed to this challenge of faith and attended the party

the regular Seder could be forfeited.
Still, Esther kept as much as she could and served matzah at the banquets.
Additionally, the banquets are called "mishteh ha-yayin" -- a wine feast (5:6, 7:2, 7:7) -- alluding to the four cups of wine drunk at the seder

The Bible Calls them BANQUETS OF WINE. The king drank the wine, flew into a rage, and went looking for HAMAN. Haman just fell on the queen's bed. So the king had Haman hanged on the gallows made for Mordecai. Al, don't you get the JUDAS connection?

Because God had abandoned the Israelites to pagan idolatry, we know that they continued in Bacchus or Dionysus worship. Plutarch, who connects SEXUAL PERVERSION to all of the PSALLO proof texts wrote:

When all the company requested and earnestly begged it of him; first of all (says he), the time and manner of the greatest and most holy solemnity of the Jews is exactly agreeable to the holy rites of Bacchus; for that which they call the Fast they celebrate in the midst of the vintage, furnishing their tables with all sorts of fruits while they sit under tabernacles made of vines and ivy; and the day which immediately goes before this they call the day of Tabernacles.

Within a few days after they celebrate another feast, not darkly but openly, dedicated to Bacchus, for they have a feast amongst them called Kradephoria, from carrying palm-trees, and Thyrsophoria, when they enter into the temple carrying thyrsi.

What they do within I know not; but it is very probable that they perform the rites of Bacchus. First they have little trumpets, such as the Grecians used to have at their Bacchanalia to call upon their gods withal.

Others go before them playing upon harps, which they call Levites, whether so named from Lusius or Evius,--either word agrees with Bacchus.

And I suppose that their Sabbaths have some relation to Bacchus; for even now many call the Bacchi by the name of Sabbi, and they make use of that word at the celebration of Bacchus's orgies.

And this may be discovered out of Demosthenes and Menander. Nor would it be out of place, were any one to say that the name Sabbath was given to this feast from the agitation and excitement [Greek omitted] which the priests of Bacchus display.

The Jews themselves witness no less; for when they keep the Sabbath, they invite one another to drink till they are drunk; or if they chance to be hindered by some more weighty business, it is the fashion at least to taste the wine.
Some perhaps may surmise that these are mere conjectures. But there are other arguments which will clearly evince the truth of what I assert. The first may be drawn from their High-priest, who on holidays enters their temple with his mitre on, arrayed in a skin of a hind embroidered with gold, wearing buskins, and a coat hanging down to his ankles;besides, he has a great many little bells depending from his garment which make a noise as he walks. So in the nocturnal ceremonies of Bacchus (as the fashion is amongst us), they make use of music, and call the god's nurses [Greek omitted]. High up on the wall of their temple [Ezekiel 8] is a representation of the thyrsus and timbrels, which surely suits no other god than Bacchus.
Moreover, they are forbidden the use of honey in their sacrifices, because they suppose that a mixture of honey corrupts and deads the wine. And honey was used for a libation in former days and with it the ancients were wont to make themselves drunk, before the vine was known.

And at this day barbarous people who want wine drink metheglin, allaying the sweetness of the honey by bitter roots, much of the taste of our wine.

Again, the tradition of some of the Rabbis followed the deception played on Haman by:

"a man is bound to get so drunk with wine at Purim as not to know the difference between, 'Cursed is Naaman and Blessed is Mordecai.'" (Talmud, Megillah 2:7)

The result of this drunken deception, this was celebrated as a SECOND PASSOVER.

Can anyone believe that Jesus IMITATED this pattern in instituting the Lord's Supper. Doesn't His careful use of THE FRUIT OF THE VINE prove that He REPUDIATED the drunken customs of the JEWS?

But Jesus said that they were self-promoters, did more harm than good and "took away the key to knowledge."

Passover and wine was connected by Jews who knew that their kingdom had already been lost as they broke down the walls:

"Modern Jews do not waste it. However, it is a symbol of the bitter slavery in Egypt. The wine is used much like a cooking wine where the alcohol content is highly diluted:

Maror: Bitter Herbs

"A blessing is recited over a bitter vegetable (usually raw horseradish; sometimes romaine lettuce), and it is eaten. This symbolizes the bitterness of slavery. The maror is eaten with charoses, a mixture of apples, nuts, cinnamon and

wine,

which symbolizes the mortar used by the Jews in building during their slavery.

Even for the Jewish Passover the wine is for flavor and not intoxication. And in the Jewish Passover the wine symbolizes the mortar of slavery -- not the fresh, fruit of the vine which is squeezed out for the king and sons of the King. Of the Israelites in Egypt:

They made their lives bitter with hard labor in brick and mortar and with all kinds of work in the fields; in all their hard labor the Egyptians used them ruthlessly. Exodus 1:14

Sober Jews Rejected the Wineskins Rituals

The Incarnate God of the universe knows as much as the local highway patrolman who will put you in jail for being as drunk as some are as the result of charismatic preaching and loud, mind-altering vocal or instrumental music.

"The law forbade seor--yeast, ferment, whatever could excite fermentation--and

khahmatz (chametz), whatever had undergone fermentation, or been subject to the action of seor." (Patton 85).

"The great mass of the Jews have ever understood this prohibition as extending to fermented wine, or strong drink, as well as to bread. The word is essentially the same which designates the fermentation of bread and that of liquors." (Patton)

When served with the MATZAH: Passover lasted all week. However, when serving the UNLEAVENED BREAD one view is that:

"Chametz is symbolic of sin. Chametz (leaven) rises teaching us pride, arrogance, and self-will. Matzah (unleaven) is flat teaching us humility, selflessness and love. As we work to remove all traces of Chametz from our homes, we are aware of the deeper meaning of Chametz and endeavor to remove the spiritual Chametz from within ourselves.

"You may not serve lamb, roast beef, roasted meat, or pork because of its resemblance to the Passover sacrifice. You may not serve rice or any food that swells up as it cooks (the swelling is symbolic of sin). Try also to avoid cheese and meat in the same dinner. Stuffing is made from raised bread, but you may make Matzah stuffing if you choose. Several recipes are included in this guide.

If you serve wine, be sure that it is kosher wine. Wine that is not kosher contains yeast. Yeast is symbolic of leaven or sin. Therefore, kosher or non-alcoholic wine should be served. Grapejuice is also acceptable. Passover Guide.

Does Al believe that Jesus called for and consumed FOUR CUPS OF WINE to assuredly GET DRUNK when THE LAW FORBAD fermentation?

Jesus changed both the PURPOSE and the WINE of the Passover into remembering Him and using THE FRUIT OF THE VINE.

Therefore, JESUS did not OBSERVE the unlawful and harmful drinking of wine and cut off any further comparison with the JEWISH PASSOVER.

Jesus changed this: He defined THE FRUIT OF THE VINE which is not wine. Wine is the FRUIT OF THE VAT. Boiled rasins became "wine" but it was still unfermented.

Furthermore, the SUPPER observed at the time of Passover was changed: "This do in memory of me" and not in memory of the Passover in Egypt.

The FRUIT OF THE VINE was available any time of the year even though they could preserve fresh grape juice:

"Now the preference for raisin-wine is not completely unreasonable. After all, commercially produced kosher wines were a rarity at this time, especially in America, so that the only way to procure a ritually satisfactory beverage would be to make it at home.

Though alcoholic wine cannot be easily manufactured by amateurs,
raisin-wine can be prepared through a simple process of boiling the raisins in a pot."

Al Maxey: The problem, however, is that the case of the four cups of wine completely destroys their premise.

Jesus, who was sinless, embraced and utilized the four cups of wine which were added by men to the Lord God's Passover feast.

Jesus thus demonstrated that innovation and addition are not necessarily wrong, if that to which they are added is not negated or replaced or diminished by the addition or accompaniment. In other words, the four cups of wine in no way negated, replaced or diminished what God HAD prescribed and ordained in the Passover.

BUNK! Remember what Jesus said:

For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do. Mark 7:8

And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition. Mark 7:9

When Jesus did something it was usually to repudiate the TRADITIONS :

> But this cup of wine is not drunk; instead, it is placed at the center of the table where the children keep watch over the gently quivering liquid, hoping to detect a sign of its sampling by Elijah the Prophet, in whose honor it was poured.

The first four elements of the redemption are something that we are to "drink" - to acivtely pursue and realize ourselves.

It is within our power to overcome all that limits and enslaves us, both physically and spiritually, both without and within; to develop our potential for freedom, and to exercise this freedom as the freedom to fulfill our mission as G-d's people as communicated to us at Sinai.

But the final and culminating level of redemption - its "I will bring you" element, which shall be fully realized only in the era of Mashiach - is something that transcends our human efforts.

This is not a cup we can drink on our own. We can only bring ourselves to the threshold of this Divinely perfect world, through our active realization of the first four "expressions of redemption."

The drinking of the fifth cup awaits Elijah, herald of the final and ultimate redemption.

Every person is obligated to drink four cups of wine, or grape juice, which is also considered as wine, at the Seder at the appropriate points [see above]. If he drank all four cups at once, he has not fulfilled the obligation. The Talmud notes that this obligation is incumbent upon men, women, and even children, for all were redeemed from Egypt.

The Torah then tells us that the entire nation did as the were commanded. The blood of circumcision became mingled with the blood of the sacrifice and it is the merit of these two mitzvot that we commemorate by drinking red wine. Passover Net

> "There is an opinion in the Talmud which states that five cups of wine, not four, are to be drunk at the Seder. In practice we follow the majority opinion and drink only four cups. In deference to the minority opinion,

however, we pour the Fifth Cup of wine even though no one drinks from it.

This Fifth Cup of wine bears the name of Elijah because it is he who will eventually resolve this question, as well as many others. Cup of Elijah

Since there was only ONE cup this must have been the FIFTH which speaks of Elijah or John the Baptist:

"We all know of the four cups of wine, but the Rambam and others mentioned a fifth cup. What is the source for this practice? How should it be observed? These are some of the questions which the Rebbe raises - and resolves - in the distinct way in which he treats subjects in Nigleh, the revealed realm of Torah law.

In the context of his explanations, the Rebbe also focuses on the cup of Eliyahu, a practice instituted as an expression of our faith in Eliyahu's arrival as herald of the Redemption.

"May we witness his coming soon," and the ultimate peak of the Era of the Redemption, when "those who repose in the dust will arise and sing."

One may pour a fifth cup and recite the Great Hallel over it, i.e., from "Praise G-d, for He is good," [5] until "By the waters of Babylon."

"Directly before mentioning the fifth cup, the Rambam states:

"He should not taste anything the entire night except water." After stating that a person should not drink anything but water after drinking t he fourth cup, the Rambam would not say that one may drink a fifth cup.

What then is the Rambam saying? That we may pour out a fifth cup, recite the Great Hallel over it, and then pour it back without drinking from it.

Defining the Rambam's Conception

"In his gloss to the Mishneh Torah, Rabbeinu Manoach states: "From this, one can infer that it is forbidden to drink wine after drinking the four cups. For if one would surmise that it is permitted, why must one recite the Great Hallel over [the fifth cup]?

"Instead, implied is that one should not drink [another cup].

But if one desires to drink one must recite over that cup songs of praise related to the exodus of Egypt, as one recites over the fourth cup. Otherwise, it is forbidden for one to drink."

Of course, Jesus was instituting the Lord's Supper which commemorates the redemption from SIN RATHER than redemption from Egypt. Jesus HAS BECOME our PASSOVER, therefore we do not drink the PASSOVER four cups (not Biblical) nor do we drink WINE for the Lord's Supper.

"Since the majority opinion forbids drinking more than four cups, that opinion is followed, and one drinks only four cups. On the other hand, in deference to Rabbi Tarfon's opinion, a fifth cup is poured out, the Great Hallel is recited over it, but as stated above, it is not drunken in compliance with the view that drinking it is prohibited.

Elijah had come and announced Messiah who was preparing to die for their sins. Therefore, it is logical that they FINALLY DRANK the fifth cup--

And when they had sung an hymn, they went out into the mount of Olives. Matt 26:30

Jesus missed a grand opportunity not to have called Judas back to play MUSIC:

Humneo (g5214) hoom-neh'-o; from 5215; to hymn, i.e. sing a religious ode; by impl. to celebrate (God) in song: - sing an hymn (praise unto).

Guess what Psalm they sang for the FIFTH CUP:

BY the rivers of Babylon, there we sat down, yea, we wept, when we remembered Zion. Psalm 137:1

We hanged our harps upon the willows in the midst thereof. Psalm 137:2

For there they that carried us away captive required of us a song; and they that wasted us required of us mirth, saying, Sing us one of the songs of Zion. Psalm 137:3

Did you know that the WILLOW was the symbol of Orpheus one of the "inventors" of the HARP?

Before the institution of the LORD'S SUPPER, Judas was identified with the SOP.

Isn't it just wild that the Judas Bag used by the thief was not a PURSE. Rather, throughout the Classics the bag was:

Glosokomon (g1101) gloce-sok'-om-on; from 1100 (speaking in tongues) and the base of 2889; prop. a case to keep mouthpieces of wind-instruments in, i.e. (by extens.) a casket or (spec.) purse: - bag.

It is made up of two words:
1. Glossa (from Strong's g1100) means "speaking in tongues" especially an unacquired one.
2. Kosmos (g2889) means the "orderly arrangement" or the "adorning" world. this is derived from (g2864 or Komizo which means "to carry off."

Kosmos (g2889) kos'-mos; prob. from the base of 2865; orderly arrangement, i.e. decoration; by impl. the world (in a wide or narrow sense, includ. its inhab., lit. or fig. [mor.]): - adorning, world.

The SOP also has a strange connection;

If you use the HARP better watch out!

The three early harps found in the burial chambers at Ur were bow-shaped instruments with 12 to 15 strings; nearly identical instruments were played in Egypt at roughly the same time.

Iconographic evidence suggests that in both Egypt and Mesopotamia the harp, often played by women, was used in secular, erotic entertainments, although it had sacred uses as well. Britannica

The Twitching, Twanging or Plucking does not use the unique MUSIC word. Rather, Apollo (Abaddon, Apollyon) was the father of "musical harmony, the murderous twanging bow and arrow, thieves and liars." At Delphi he USED three MUSES from which the word MUSICIANS in Revelation 18 is derived.

"Marsyas, a Phrygian satyr, was so proud of his skill with the flute that he presumed to challenge Apollo, god of music and master of the lyre. The myth appears to be a record of the supersession of the flute by the lyre in Greek favour.

"There is likewise a palace of the Great King in Celaenae, strongly fortified and situated at the foot of the Acropolis over the sources of the Marsyas river; the Marsyas also flows through the city, and empties into the Maeander, and its width is twenty-five feet.

It was here, according to the story, that Apollo flayed Marsyas, after having defeated him in a contest of musical skill; he hung up his skin in the cave from which the sources issue, and it is for this reason that the river is called Marsyas. Xenophon Anabasis [1.2.8]

In the image below, Apollo and his harp battles Marsyas and his flute: Marsyas loses and Apollo flays him alive. Did Satan cause Judas to kill himself because he failed? It has been so said. Apollo (Abaddon, Apollyon will come again and turn loose the MUSES who were turned into Locusts or Grasshopers). Remember that in the old stories Satan taught the youth as Genun (Jubal, Jabal, Tubal-Cain, Naamah) how to HANDLE (without authority) the ORGAN (a vulgar expression of homosexual love which the Jews hoped God and Ezekiel would supply in Ezekiel 33).

This Jubal or Genun story is confirmed by Paul in Romans One! The HARP OF GOD is defined as producing the fruit of the lips, but Satan's approach through Judas and modern music is PATTERNED by the flute where Halal is translated as "play the flute, pollute or prostitute." Or "to prune your vine" to "take your inheritance."

This might be reaching but I don't think so: Jesus gave Satan- filled Judas Sicarri (musical assassin of Psalm 41: a dagger man) the SECRET SIGNAL that he had been OUTED. And Jesus dismissed Satan who used music even in the garden of Eden BEFORE He instituted the Lord's Supper probably with the fifth cup after which they sang about hanging up harps on willows.

A companion picture to the above shows that:

Next, this supper was on the eve of the Babylon- influenced Jewish Passover

Jesus was THREE DAYS AND THREE NIGHTS in the tomb. That means that the "preparation of the Sabbath" was not Saturday but the DAY BEFORE the Passover which is a REST.

The special SABBATH involved with the Passover came after the crucifixion:

The Jewish leaders didn't want the victims hanging there the next day, which was the Sabbath (and a very special Sabbath at that, for it was the Passover), so they asked Pilate to order the legs of the men broken to hasten death; then their bodies could be taken down. John 19:31LIV

John the Baptist as ELIJAH had fulfilled the meaning of the FIFTH CUP, Jesus blessed the FIFTH CUP which could contain no wine and still be drunk.

THE CUP is one. And a cup is a DRINKING CUP and not a wineskin or other large container.

And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and said, Take this,
........ and divide it among yourselves: Luke 22:17

Divide is:

Diamerizo (g1266( dee-am-er-id'-zo; from 1223 and 3307; to partition thoroughly (lit. in distribution, fig. in dissension): - cloven, divide, part.

He didn't say DRINK at this time. Therefore, rather than TWO CUPS of the fruit of the vine it is probable that there was only ONE cup representing Him being poured out to live in his disciples.

Al, that leaves NONE for Jesus to drink!

* For I say unto you, I will not drink of the fruit of the vine, until the kingdom of God shall come. Luke 22:18

- He took His cup
- Had it divided 11 ways
- Said I will not drink!

Did you get that: One cup divided 11 ways?

"The first reason to reject normal wine is that each participant, even if he was poor and could not afford it, was to take four cups of wine which is 3 pints--enought to get one quite intoxicated if the wine is fermented."

Everyone: man, woman and child was forced to drink this wine. If it made one violently ill then they could dilute with grape juice. Therefore, to be faithful to the figure of prince and king Jesus COULD NOT drink intoxicants.

Furthermore, he had not reason to affirm a Jewish Passover which had been INTOXICATED in Babylon.

One Cup equals .75 pint. Divided 11 ways equals .068 pints!

And Jesus DIDN'T drink any wine: that would make Him less spiritual than John the Baptist, He would lose his standing as a King and Prince.

Don't lie along with the Pharisees who called Jesus a WINE DRINKER because He DRANK. Even one who drank dilluted wine was a WINEBIBBER and a TIPPLER in the Greek world.

In Matthew: He didn't say "this is the Passover."

And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed it, and brake it, and gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body. Mt.26:26

And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it; Mt 26:27
For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins. Matt 26:28

The CUP given to the Apostles by Jesus was was a Testament in His blood which was SHED for the apostles and others:

Ekcheo (g1632) ek-kheh'-o; or (by var.) ekchuno +tx ek-khoo'-no; from 1537 and cheo, (to pour); to pour forth; fig. to bestow: - gush (pour) out, run greedily (out), shed (abroad, forth), spill

Remember what we said before:

> "Do not offer the blood of a sacrifice to me along with anything containing yeast. "The fat of my festival offerings must not be kept until morning. Exo 23:18

> "It may be possible that the use of wine replaced an earlier custom of offering blood; however this may be, wine was often treated as if it were blood,

and was thus poured out at the base of the altar (See Ecclus. 50:15; cf. Jos. Antiq. III.ix.4).

- Now, Al, here is the LAW OF SILENCE. When WINE considered as BLOOD was poured out: the DRINK OFFERING was not drunk!

- Jesus told the 11 to DRINK IT.

- Therefore, the FRUIT OF THE VINE is NOT Wine.

- The SPECIAL PASSOVER was conducted with the FRUIT OF THE VINE which traditionally could be WATER.

Al, this SOUNDS like Jesus took ONE of the cups (HIS cup) to be used for the PASSOVER and filled with the FRUIT OF THE VINE and DIVIDED it among 11 Apostles

* But I say unto you, I will not drink henceforth of this fruit of the vine, until that day when I drink it new with you in my Fathers kingdom. Matt 26:29

This "fruit of the vine" was, according to traditions we have quoted above, was the FIFTH cup which Jesus would not drink. The POURED IT OUT for the Apostles to CONFIRM that the promise was fulfilled to them. He would drink the FIFTH CUP with us AFTER the kingdom was established on the day of Pentecost.

The purpose of the Lord's Supper instituted before Passover was to FULFILL THE TYPE.

The Old Passover has been Replaced as Jesus insisted:

Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump? 1 Cor 5:6

Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us: 1 Cor 5:7

Therefore let us keep the feast,

not with old leaven,
neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness;
........ but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth. 1 Cor 5:8

The leaven absolutely forbidden in a TRUE PASSOVER is:

Zume (g2219) dzoo'-may; prob. from 2204; ferment (as if boiling up): - leaven.

Thefore, Al Maxey is promoting the drunken brawl of the Babylonian festival which was a FEAST TO THE DEFEAT OF JEHOVAH. By insisting on the FRUIT OF THE VINE Jesus outlawed the LEAVEN of the Jews.

Paul understood that this evet was not the PASSOVER but the institution of the Lord's Supper. He confirms that this event involved ONE CUP which we know was divided 11 ways.

Paul WAS NOT THERE. Therefore, the Lord Who identified Himself as "Jesus of Nazareth" in a holy (pure) Spirit form "guided Paul into all truth."

For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, That the Lord Jesus, the same night in which he was betrayed, took bread: 1 Cor 11:23

And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat; this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me. 1 Cor 11:24

It would have violated the principle that leaven was a symbol of EVIL for the bread to have contained or been in contact with any product of yeast.

After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying,

This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me. 1 Cor 11:25

Remember that the ancient "commentaries" understood that the FIFTH cup in the expectation of John's announcement as a herald of REDEMPTION:

Only the FIFTH CUP would symbolize the REDEMPTION and Jesus defines it as the NEW TESTAMENT which brought the redemption John announced. That cup was the BLOOD OF THE GRAPE or FRUIT OF THE VINE.

For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lords death till he come. 1 Cor 11:26

Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord. 1 Cor 11:27

The Jews accused Jesus of drinking wine and he called them liars in a cute way.

By knowing that GETTING DRUNK was the Rabbis only AUTHORITY, Jesus would APPROVE of intoxication if He drank FOUR CUPS OF WINE.

Al Cannot prove that Jesus EVER consumed wine. Oh, yes, the liars called Jesus a WINE BIBBER (not a drunk) because Jesus DRANK.

Jesus therefore DELIBERATELY defined THE FRUIT OF THE VINE which is still recognized as so important that only "wine" from boiled raisins is used.

He CHANGED the purpose and REPUDIATED intoxicants.

Paul, acknowledged the ONE CUP which was divided among the apostles. Therefore, what Christ the Spirit revealed to Paul was he FIFTH CUP.

Al Maxey: I believe this interpretive device known as the "Law of Silence" is fallacious. It should be discarded as a hermeneutical tool. Those who seek to use it do so inconsistently at best. At worst, it has been employed to divide brethren into warring factions over their many differing personal preferences and perceptions.

Assumptions, deductions and inferences (few of which are truly "necessary") have been much too frequently elevated to LAW, all in the name of "silence" .... and the One Body of Christ has been dismembered by the factious fuming and fussing which inevitably follows.

This is unconscionable, and is an abomination. It is time for this "law" to be cast aside, and for rational minds to prevail as we approach the task of biblical interpretation and application.

We need to inject some MUSICAL commentary because Jesus not only DID NOT obverve the JEWISH or rather BABYLONIAN Passover, he also repudiated the MUSIC which was the SIGNAL to bow down in Babylonian worship.

DIVISION and MUSICAL SECTARIANISM was created by the LAW OF SILENCE: "God didn't say, 'thou shalt not play'." Therefore, we are going to play KNOWING BEFOREHAND and with a high hand sowed discord by FORCING instruments into churches which had remained faithful for 1800 years.

Non-instrumentalist CONTINUE TO DO what the faithful church of Christ always did. There WAS NO CHANGE. Therefore, those who ADD are the MUSICAL SECTARIANS.

The Lord's Supper was likely PRIOR to the regular PASSOVER.

Al, He took 1 piece of bread about the size of a small pizza without the topping.

He DIVIDED it 11 ways.

After what "might" be the Passover which contained no wine, He took the CUP, divided it and INSTITUTED the Lord's Supper which is NOT the Passover.

Just a ONE CUPPER, Al. I think that the ONE cup of 3/4 a pint was poured out into the 11 cups of the Apostles but I cannot prove it! They, too, would have to drink the CUP OF SUFFERING later on.

It was PRIOR to the institution of the Lord's Supper that Jesus gave Judas the SIGN which drove him to hang himself. The Judas Bag was for carrying the REEDS or TONGUES of wind instruments to be used according to Psalm 41 to try to defeat Jesus.

Therefore, Al is wrong, Jesus DID NOT APPROVE of either the PASSOVER MEAT or the Babylonian WINE.

The FIFTH CUP was traditionally WATER but Jesus used THE FRUIT OF THE VINE.

After the Fifth Cup they were to sing PSALM 137 which speaks of HANGING UP OUR HARPS.
