This is a beginning detailed review of Danny Corbitt's book. The problem with being willing to sow discord in peaceable churches is proof that the proof-texters have never read the Bible other than to collect a list of passages where instruments are mentioned. When Disputable Matters. Eclipse Worship and Unity.In Romans 144 Paul outlawed "doubtful disputations" which did not edify or EDUCATE. In Romans 15 he outlawed self pleasure which defines self-speak, singing, playing, drama or anything which DIVERTED the assembly which had the sole purpose of "using one mind and one mouth to speak that which is written for our learning,.
The purpose driving A Church of Christ is to commmand and observe what Jesus commanded to be taught: Peter makes that the Prophets by Christ and the prophecies made more certain or verified by Jesus Christ. He outlawed private interpretation of further expounding. Paul outlawed Corrupting the Word which means selling learning at retail.
Therefore, as defined by Christ the Rock in the wilderness the Qahal, synagogue, ekklesia or Church is:
INCLUSIVE of Rest, Reading and Rehearsing the Word handed down by Moses to small groups
EXCLUSIVE of vocal or instrumental rejoicing or self-speaking.
That never changed except that Christ REMOVED the laded burden (arousal music) and the Burden Laders.
There are no disputable matters if you obey the command from the wilderness onward to PREACH the Word by READING the Word (only) for comfort and doctrine. Disciple do not go to Worship Services because Jesus said that the Kingdom does not come with observation meaning Religious Services.
Unity in the false sense of the enemies of the Church NEVER happened between the Christian Churches and the Churches of Christ. After the ORGANIZATIONAL or Society and Organ party proved that fraternal meetings were no longer possible because then and NOW when Corbitt etal speaks of UNITY they mean to "Infiltrate and divert your church to the society and organ party." All of the debates and writings leading up to the 1906 census were hostile attacks because they said that PSALLO commanded the use of instruments and the LEGALISTS were disobeying the law and could be taken over without sinning.
Revised 8.21.13 People who think of a musical instrument for worship in a church simply do not know the meaning of the Church or Worship. The Greek word PSALLO and other PSAO-like words were used by those who translated the Hebrew or other texts into GREEK. The Greek Psallo was first used to justify the use of Instrments (machines for doing hard work) until the year 1878. After that, O.E.Payne collected references to much of the ancient literature and each time "play" or "pluck" appered he contended that it commanded that EVERYONE play an instrument. Unfortunately all of the plucking of a string ONLY with the fingers occurred it pointed primarily to Apollo (Abaddon, Apollyon) making his bow string twang to send forth a singing arrow into a literal heart. Apollyon also carried his lyre and when he plucked the strings he was planning to seduce a younger male by "shooting forth love arrows."
No one can read BLACK text on BROWN paper when reading ANY musical content in the assembly commanded to "use one mind and one mouth to speak that which is written for our learning." Jesus commanded that we teach what HE commandled ot be taught. Disciples are STUDENTS and students don't do musical "worship services." The role of the School of Christ (the Campbell's restoration) is defined in many New Testament passages.

Danny Corbitt and all who confuse church with a Worship Center where the service (hard bondage) is performed by a priestly class do NOT understand that the godly people never participated in a "worship service" as defined by the sowers of discord. It was after Israel rose up in musical idolatry at Mount Sinai that God turned them over to worship the starry host: those they had worshipped in Egypt and named by Amos and Acts 7. The Jacob-cursed and God-abandoned Levites executed 3000 of the "brethren" who had fallen into musical idolatry. In the Ezekiel 33 example Christ names speakers for pay, singers, instrument players and the audience. The musical performance was the MARK of those who had no intention of obeying the Word.

In the ancient world, the role of music during ritual sacrifice was often to drown out any cries from the victim. (45) It is crucial that the victim not be heard. The practical mechanics of making victims means that it is unusual for the victim's perspective to survive. In the world of ancient ritual it was probably impossible.
45. The Greek verb myo means to close the mouth or shut the eyes. There is debate about whether myo plays a crucial role in the etymology of other significant words such as myth, mystery, and even music. These etymologies make sense within the Girardian hypotheses.

People forget that God turned Israel over to worship the starry host because of musical idolatry at Mount Sinai. The Levites were under the KING and the COMMANDERS of the army: they made war and not worship. We will examine these passages in context.
Church is Ekklesia or Synagogue: both for instruction only: both exclusive of any performing arts: you don't do music when God's Word is taught. I submit that you cannot be a Christian if you do not understand the meaning of "teach them what I have commanded to be taught."
ALL MUSICAL DISCORDERS FOLLOW THE PATTERN OF THE LEVITES DEFINED BY THE SCRIBES.
The first two reasons assert that under the Old Testament, God did not just allow instrumental music, He commanded and blessed it. Rick offered the following passages for these contentions: 2 Chronicles 5:13-14; 7:6; 29:25-26; Psalm 33:1- 3; 92:1-3; 150:1-6.
Never mind that the godly tribes were quarantined. No singer or player went INTO or NEAR a holy thing or place on the penalty of death. Some of these patterns are separated from the last by up to 300 years.

See Al Maxey using Miriam as an example of a femal musical worship minister in the church: that's a long way from being a soothsayer just out of "baptism" leading the women to escape the SPEAKING of Moses.
All scholars note that while Moses SPAKE the Song, Miriam took probably the Sistrum and LED THE WOMEN out which meant to ESCAPE. The sistrum and the "answering" or responsisve singing was a form of browbeating and not worship.
"In the first place, it will be noticed from the account of the triumphant rejoicing on the shore of the Red Sea that the men sang only: 'Then sang Moses and the children of Israel this song unto the Lord, and SPAKE saying.'" (Girardeau, George, p. 33)
Masculine is SPEAK or SAY (as in Speak one to another). Feminine or effeminate is to SANG and CLANG: no recorded exception to the rule, Al.
Ex 15:20 And Miriam the prophetess, the sister of Aaron, took a timbrel in her hand;"In the second place, it was Miriam and the women who used instruments of music on the occasion: 'And Miriam, the prophetess, the sister of Aaron, took a timbrel in her hand; and all the women went after her with timbrels and with dances." Of course a tabret or sistrum is NOT a musical instrument and it gave its name for TOPHETH or HELL.
Thirdly, the sistrum was a RATTLE and not a musical instrument. It did not even make a SINGLE note. It was to establish a BEAT. Therefore, Al Maxey is obligated to go out and DANCE with the women and do the RESPONSIVE chanting which is defined as BROW BEATING.

The writing prophets are included in the message of the Spirit OF (preposition) Christ: they always repudiate the Civil-Military-Clergy complex as robbers and parsites. Prophesying in a musical sense is called SOOTSAYING. Why not when God turned them over to worship the STARRY HOST.

"This reference probably indicates the use of songs from the cult of Osiris... it can hardly be denied that Egyptian influence on Jewish musical practices was quite significant. DAVID AS PATTERNISM FOR INSTRUMENTS IN THE ASSEMBLY OF CHRIST."Unfortunatcly, Scripture gives us no details about Miriam's prophetic skills, but they seem to be at the root of the darkest period in her life, for in her next appearance she is vying in prophecy with Moses. She and Aaron have been whispering to each other, first against the "Cushite" wife Moses married and then against his leadership. "Has the Lord spoken only through Moses?" they say. "Has He not spoken through us as well?" (Numbers 12: ).

Load your mind with the fact that KINGS were given in God's anger because of musical idolatry at Mount Sinai and the elders firing God and demanding a NATINAL leader: God knew that they wanted to worship like the nations. Stephen in Acts 7 says that God turned them over to worship the starry host and THAT is what the Temple was buit for until God could carry out the death and captivity sentence. David was king and not a priest, preacher, song leader and never performed for any worship which meant to "fall on your face."

Scripture is to REFUTE this sort of making music with all of your soul""Peckham 1987:84-87: the association of Astarte with the dying god, Eshmun, may well be related to CHILD SACRIFICE, as Peckham; Robertson 1982:329. Given the parallel to Genesis 22, the tradition of Kronos sacrificing his only son as a part of the Phoenician cult looks to be related to the thriving BUSINESS of infant sacrifice in Phoenician culture.
Herakles is implicated as the originator of homosexuality in the temples and especially with Jerusalem as defined by Second Maccabees.

Thus "Bacchus was directly called upon," he says. The Sabazian worship was Sabbatic; the names Evius, or Hevius, and Luaios are identical with Hivite and Levite.The French name Louis is the Hebrew Levi; Iacchus again is Iao or Jehovah; and Baal or Adon, like Bacchus, was a phallic god.
"Who shall ascend into the hill (the HIGH place) of the Lord?" asks the holy king David, "who shall stand in the place of his Kadushu [[Heb char]]"? (Psalms xxiv. 3). Kadesh may mean in one sense to devote, hallow, sanctify, and even to initiate or to set apart;
but it also means the ministers of lascivious rites (the Venus (ZOE, Lucifer)-worship) and the true interpretation of the word Kadesh is bluntly rendered in Deuteronomy xxiii. 17; Hosea iv. 14; and Genesis xxxviii., from verses 15 to 22. The Hebrew Kadeshim or galli lived "by the house of the Lord, where the women wove hangings for the grove," or bust of Venus-Astarte, says verse the seventh in the twenty-third chapter of 2 Kings.
The dance performed by David round the ark was the "circle-dance" said to have been prescribed by the Amazons for the Mysteries. Such was the dance of the daughters of Shiloh (Judges xxi. 21, 23 et passim), and the leaping of the prophets of Baal (I Kings xviii. 26). It was simply a characteristic of the Sabean worship, for it denoted the motion of the planets round the sun.
That the dance was a Bacchic frenzy is apparent. Sistra were used on the occasion, and the taunt of Michael and the king's reply are very expressive. "The king of Israel uncovered himself before his maid-servants as one of the vain (or debauched) fellows shamelessly uncovereth himself." And he retorts: "I will play (act wantonly) before [[Heb char]], and I will be yet more vile than this, and I will be base in my own sight."
When we remember that David had sojourned among the Tyrians and Philistines, where their rites were common; and that indeed he had conquered that land away from the house of Saul, by the aid of mercenaries from their country, the countenancing and even, perhaps, the introduction of such a Pagan-like worship by the weak "psalmist" seems very natural. David knew nothing of Moses, it seems, and if he introduced the Jehovah-worship it was not in its monotheistic character, but simply as that of one of the many gods of the neighboring nations -- a tutelary deity to whom he had given the preference, and chosen among "all other gods."

It doesn't matter what people think about music or no music: in our sound-byte world with sermonizing and singing about self there is no reason for people to know the Bible which is the only commanded resource for the assembly. If peachers and book writers do not know the meaning of a DISCIPLE they might think that they need a singing and clapping group to assist them in listening to the TEXT which Christ ordaied for the SCHOOL. He commanded that we TEACH that which He commanded to be taught until the end of the world. If Christ didn't include MAKING NOISE when He comes to be ouronly Rabbi, then DISCIPLES will understand why you don't act juvenile in the presence of God.
CHAPTER THREE FIVE DISPUTABLE MATTERS

What is not included in the School of Christ is "personal opinion" or "personal preferences." Those who impose their opinion are passing judgment that their opinion trumps Christ's Words.
Edify in this letter is defined immediately in Romans 15 where Paul OUTLAWED those doubtful disputations NOT connected to the kingdom of God. Liberty never gives the musicians authority to impose their bodies and performance in my school of the Word. The most ancient pagans knew that you could use musical tones to convince the simple people that you were IMPROVING their condition and THEY in turn should give THEM your LAMBS. Dialogismos is used 11 times in the Septuagint (LXX) (Ps 40:5, 56:5, 92:5, 94:11, 139:2, 139:20, 146:4, Isa 59:7, Jer 4:14, Lam 3:60-61) Dialogismos often means the perverse, vain thinking which contemplates destruction (Ps. 94:11), and is turned against God (Jer. 4:14; Isa. 59:7) and against the godly (Ps. 56:5).
Commenting on Phil 2:14, MacArthur notes that dialogismos...
soon developed the more specific ideas of questioning, doubting, or disputing the truth of a matter. In Romans 14:1, the word is used of passing judgment on another believer’s opinions and in 1 Timothy 2:8 it is rendered “dissension.” Whereas grumbling is essentially emotional, disputing is essentially intellectual. Paul is speaking of DIET and the DAYS people come to the marketplace to eat or buy food. Beyond the IDENTIFIERS however we know that there were three sects in Rome based on diet but they were all highly addicted to vocal and instrumental noise during their assemblies: the purpose was to drive people into "mental excitement" or the "laded burden" Jesus died to remove.
Because DISCIPLES go to a school of Christ and His Word where we teach that which He has commanded to be taught, we can keep out sanity and understand the Word of Christ which is the only building up through educaion. There is no command to SING as an act of worship: that would be legalism. By reciting the Psalms one to another we inculcate God's values in the Great epics telling us about the good, the bad and the ugly in society.

EXCLUSION 1 Danny says that Exclusion has broken fellowship over five issues. "Exclusion" (you know who you are, raca) contends that the early church believed that God wanted them to praise him a cappela only.
IN FACT IMPOSING INSTRUMENTS WITHOUT ANY NEED FOR AUTHORITY BROKE FELLOWSHIP IN THE DISCIPLES/CHRISTIAN CHURCHES.
What became the Church of Christ was never united with the Disciples / Christian church other than agreeing to hold joint assemblies without discussing "doctrine." That was the handshake of a few men in 1831 which was denounced by Campbell and most Church of Christ preachers. The first census in 1906 recognized that the Church of Christ could not be included in the Disciples / Christian denomination. The Christian churches formed the NACC in 1927 and remained part of the Disciples until the 1968 restructure and were DElisted in 1971. It is dishonest and pshchological violence to blame the Churches of Christ for secting out of the Christian church which would not exist for several decades.
In fact, the only broken fellowship in most American religious groups has been by presumptious people insisting that their church provide them with entertainment instead of education. The Churches of Christ never at any time in recorded history ever used instruments: not even when their ancestors were Catholics. The Catholic church did not let the congregation sing and the organ did not make noise when the Precentor was chanting a Psalm.
In addition, the word "sing" in the Bible and historic church was using the normal inflections of the human voice. None of the commanded Bible text was metrical and they could not sing it tunefully if their lives depended on it. Danny etal violate the direct command with no intention of speaking with one mind and one mouth that which is written for our learning.
Furthermore, the word "a cappella" wasn't in God's vocabulary. Being a Patriarchal God "straight" people did not sing TO Him. As praise singing that is the world's oldest, most superstitious profession using doing double duty with the second oldest profession: you couldn't get fertility out of the gods unless you had the brides and bridegrooms (Revelation 18) perform the Heiros Gamos. ACappella is a steal word from the pope's castrated French opry singers imported for the Sistine. The clergy singers were male but had to perform the female role and the falsetto's (ccm) could not compete with the castrated ones Paull spoke about in Galatians 5.
EXCLUSION 2 Danny says that that "Exclusion" contends that Ephesians 5:19 specificially concernes the singing of praise during "public worship" but NOT in other settings like our private lives. That conclusion is essential to the argument. We must ask about the setting of Ephesians 5.19.
That was the INCLUSIVE view of everyone prior to the Disciples / Christian Churches: none of the Bible was metrical in a tuneful sense and was never sung as in Sang and Clang. No congregational singing in a unison tuneful sense until Calvin permitted some Psalms (only) to be REwritten and set to a simple melody to be sung in UNISON (only).

No. We saw in reading BLACK text on BROWN paper that the active verb is to SPEAK the Biblical text. SPEAK is defined as the opposite of poetry or music. Singing AND making melody (or Grace) is IN THE HEART. That is a PLACE where God seeks our worship. Peter warned about people twisting Paul.
A cappella is the ORGANUM performed by CASTRATED French Opra Singers imported to the Sistine Chapel (caper, goat) because the Pope enjoyed them better than the FALSETTO singers: clergy must be MALE but they must perform the role of FEMALES.
Singing in a non-metrical sense was IMPOSED in about 373 after Constantine paid priests and the pagans came flocking in to become CLERGY. That recorded bit of history PROVES that there was no simple singing UNTIL it was imposed.
The word psallo is always translated as to SING (not tuneful back then). It is never used meaning "play a harp." When a harp is included the word "psallo" means to SMITE a string with our fingers and NEVER with a plectrum. EXCLUSION 4 Exclusion argues that Ephesians 5:19 demands that in our worship assemblies everyone must all sing together (congregationally)--no choirs, no solos. Can that be seen in those lines.
No: Corbitt is measuring US by USE and that is not wise. Anyone who is permitted by having A holy spirit can see that the Bible connects mechanical sounds to the SERPENT in the wilderness to the Babylon mother in harlots (Revelation) using "lusted after fruits" (same as in Amos 8) as speakers, singers and instrument players: John calls them SORCERERS and says that they will be cast alive into the lake of fire.

Well, as a mater of fact, no. There was no "singing" in a tuneful sense: we have added that only after the Reformation. While it proved divisive it is not divisive now. No congregational singer will infiltrate and steal your church property.
ANTITHETICAL PARALLELISM
The Bible is filled with the antithesis between the performing clergy of all religions using music as the primary tool to fool the foolish and the one another reading of the Word of God: we speak the very words of God when we read Scripture. Those who turn the School of Christ (only) into a praise service with choirs or instruments is NOT a Christian Assembly (synagogue) but a social gathering. Because disciples understand that instruments are always the mark of people telling God that He will not be heard, they will not and should not gather with them which would endorse their deliberate sowing of discord which is not a forgivable sin.
What is known as the Church of Christ at no time in recorded history participated in a musical performance claiming that it was for God or from God: that defines a lying wonder. None of the groups which collected under the teachings of the Campbells and others beginning in England and Ireland had ever used instruments because they knew that it was a "sign of Baal." They also knew that its influence even on the unchurched led to the moral and sexual breakdown as first recorded in Exodus 32 and rehearsed by Paul in Romans 1. In 1 Corinthians 10 he calls the "play" or musical idolatry at Mount Sinai DEMON worship.
All religious groups EXCLUDE its own members and tell them to "get over it or get our" when they IMPOSE instruments in other people's property and church family. When you get close to 80 you grasp that you can be in only one place at a time. And absolutely, instruments are widely used in the Bible to tell a congregation that the CANDLES have been removed and "God will not pass that way again." The Bible in BLACK text on BROWN paper is INVISIBLE to those who have not turned to Christ. Only the Blind miss the fact that from Genesis to Revelation the musical instrument has been the MARK of people teling Christ to be silent. Music MEANS to make the lambs dumb before the slaughter. Sacrificial music is identified as Sacred Violence. Those with eyes and ears will automatically get up and walk out when the preacher--with no authority--announces that the spirit has told him to impose 'instrumental praise.'
Churches don't DO praise services other than using one MIND and one MOUTH to teach that which is written for our learning. To go beyond that happens only when they think that they are CO-revealers with the Son of God.
Instrumental churches EXCLUDE at least half of those remotely connected with the American Restoration Movement: they do that intentionally with no Biblical authority.
Non instrumental churches do not EXCLUDE anyone because everyone agrees that they can sing congregationally.

We should make the short note that there is no dispute about music in recorded history. Furthermore, those who ADDED instruments did so with no need for authority. Unity then and now was not the object: the object under the unity diversion is an opening wedge to use isolated verses to contradict the purpose of the Spirit to force people to affirm disputable practice. The object is NOT unity any more than the wolf wants unity with the lamb: the object is that we can have unity if YOU abandon your eternal understanding and agree to SIN with us. Probably no more effort has been spent on any dogma than the attempt to convince people to do what Danny has confessed to be disputable instrumental worship. That contracts the Spirit through Paul who said that disputable matters are not tolerated in the assembly: only that which edifies which means educate with that which is written.I. The stumbling stone is that almost no sees church as a school of the Bible but as a "worship service" which is patterned on the fatal pattern of the tribe of Levi. That is why lost souls lust to live under the Law.
It is pretty easy to fall for the folly that the Church of Christ INVENTED not using music as part of the "school of the Bible." In fact, and contrary to most of the attack, none of the protestant groups in America used instruments when the effort to RESTORE the Bible as the sole source of information about the Christian discipline. Not even Catholics engaged in congregational singing with instrumental accompaniment. And yet, the instrumentalists seem to think that there was even one single event in the Old or New Testament where people collectively "worshipped" doing what they call praise music.
In fact, before the Disciples added the organ (only instrument authorized) most other denominations had or were going through the same massive "worship wars" knowing they would sow discord but needing the organ to save their edifice. J. W. McGarvey was told that his church could not survive without the added attractant and money. As far as I can determine, the Disciples were the first to try to find authority after they has joined with the other denominations. Even now, the massive numbers of the world's worshipers do not use instruments AS worship.
DON'T LET ELDERS TURNED WOLVES and doctors of the law DRAG YOU OFF INTO THE BUSHES WITH LIES. Psallo never meant "play-a-harp." The Holy Spirit knew a dozen words to tell us to play a harp but did not. That is because all instrument playing was marked as witchcraft or sorcery of evil men and women trying to pick your pockets.

Because the word PSALLO is the first attempt by the Disciples to justify their sectarianism which excluded multitutes is so critical to their position, we have taken a look at the use of the word in the Septuagint.. Psallo means to play and does not include an instrument. If say David is playing a harp then it must be named: the addition of the harp does not change the definition of psallo to INCLUDE the harp. Otherwise the word is used in the LXX to means SING.

SO DISCOUNT THE FALSE FOUNDATION THAT THE CHURCH OF CHRIST INVENTED NOT USING INSTRUMENTS.
Some History of Instrumental music in worship: this list is not up to date. We have posted most of the Presbyterian writers who were against instruments before the Church of Christ scholars. A fairly complete collection of music documents beginning with clay tablets some 3,000 years old when Moses wrote to warn the Israelites who had fallen from grace because of musical worship. Click and you will find not a jot or tittle of evidence that God wants instrumental noise when HE holds church in the wilderness or Academy.
WHY HAS THERE BEEN A GIGANTIC OUTBURST OF DISCORD AND AFFLICTION BY IMPOSING INSTRUMENTS?
Perhaps to validate their musical sectarianism the last three decades has witnessed discord of historic proportion.
The compulsive behaviour intends to force those who prefer what is falsely called ACappella to at least affirm or confess that the sectarians were Biblically authorized or even commanded to add what is defined as "machines for doing hard work or for producing the shock and awe of religious ceremonials." These are blessed with the title Non-instrumentalists.
However, those who never used instruments and who believe that it is anti-Biblical to use noise-making machines to create the laded burden Jesus died to shut down, and who continue to resist those who spread discord, are defined as ANTI-instrumentalists and are fair game for games fair or foul. Dwayne Dunning declared that they were going to take the AXE to this "sect" or "cult." And the blood has flown for more than three decades.
They hide the truth that the "serpent" was a musical enchanter(ess) in the garden, and that the "musical team" used by Nimrod intended to shut down the logical (word) or spiritual brain. That allowed them to pour their venom into your emotional (feminine) brain so that YOU believe that their stealing your cattle was your plan from the beginning. They hide the fact Cain is derived from a musical note and this MARKED him. He produced the EVIL LAMECH race with the Jubal, Jabal, Tubal-Cain and Naamah family, the first murder, the first polygamy and the first use of musical instruments. Jubal, the Cainite, was the father of all of the musical instrument handlers which means "without authority." That is because they used "the works of human hands" to steal all of the cattle and then sell them back to you. Even worse, they abuse the God-created "fight or flight" impulse and tell you that they are brinnging you into contact with the "spirits." Yes, Paul looked back at the musical idolatry or play at Mount Sinai and called it demon worship. We get a clear picture under the prophet's exposure of the Amos and Isaiah musical fall from grace.
Perhaps Danny has been nurtured into a fatal fall from grace which was caused by the musical enchanter(ess) in the garden of Eden, at Mount Sinai and in the end times Babylon mother of harlots (Rev 17) who uses lusted after fruits (Amos used the term also) as slick speakers, singers and musicians John called sorcerers who HAD deceived the whole world in Revelation 18. The fact is that all musical terms are couched at the door to enchant, charm or to drive you into an out of your mind condition which all of the musical pagans intended while picking your pockets.Speaking of the Instrumental music in worship condemned by Amos and others we note that:"The marzeah had an extremely long history extending at least from the 14th century B.C. through the Roman period. "Worship was form more than substance; consequently, conduct in the marketplace was totally unaffected by worship in the holy place. Amos spoke from the conviction that social justice is an integral part of the Mosaic covenant, which regulates relations not only between God and people, but also among people." (King, p. 44).
"In pagan traditions, musical instruments are invented by gods or demi-gods, such as titans. In the Bible, credit is assigned to antediluvian patriarchs, for example, the descendants of Cain in Genesis 4:21. There is no other biblical tradition about the invention of musical instruments." (Freedman, David Noel, Bible Review, Summer 1985, p. 51).
Aristotle: Melody Deceives: "Poets also make use of this in inventing words, as a melody "without strings" or "without the lyre"; for they employ epithets from negations, a course which is approved in proportional metaphors..Some of the previous books living primarily off the list of "psallo" proof texts by Tom Burgess which in turn come from O.E.Payne. Too bad that the historical literature has to be used to inject MUSIC in the not-musical passages speaking of using that which is written and using one mind and one mouth to edify or educate, comfort with Scripture and prevent the discord when "doubtful disputations" outlawed in Romans 15 are used.The form of diction should be neither metrical nor without rhythm.
If it is metrical, it lacks persuasiveness, for it appears artificial, and at the same time it distracts the hearer's attention, since it sets him on the watch for the recurrence of such and such a cadence..

In 2 Chronicles 29 Hezekiah saw that the plague had caused everyone to leave the garbage left over by the Assyrian worship "with instruments." Purely as a political effort--Hezekiah was king--He proposed a plague stopping animal slaughter. During the process where the GOATS enjoyed the instruments of David while they burned as an offering for Israel which had already fallen into idolatry. They cleaned out all of the instruments or vessels left over by the Assyrians but no Levite could go NEAR any holy place and the priests had to remove the garbage from ALL of the holy places.

They burned infants to the beat of instruments in 2 Chron 28 just before the PURGE and EXORCISM and in chapter 30 just AFTER Hezekiah's ceremony SOLELY to get the priests to return to Jerusalem to help defend it.
Amos 5:27 Therefore will I cause you to go into captivity beyond Damascus, saith the LORD, whose name is The God of hosts.
This was the sentence conditionally imposed because of musical idolatry at Mount Sinai. Canaan as the promised land became the Killing Fields as God let the kings lead them into captivity and death.
Furthermore, all of the performing arts are identified as the Hypocritic arts and because they produced nothing good and caused lots of destruction of morals they were called PARASITES.
Why are people so anxious to impose the CURSE of hypocrites and parasites.
NEHEMIAH IDENTIFYING THE PARASITES
The False preachers also missed that the Spirit OF Christ spoke ONLY through the prophets: it is a lie that the "holy spirit" guided the elders and preachers to lie about all of the Bible. The prophets thought that the kings, our princes, our priests, and our fathers were lawless parasites.
So the children went in and possessed the land, and thou subduedst before them the inhabitants of the land, the Canaanites, and gavest them into their hands, with their kings, and the people of the land, that they might do with them as they would. Neh 9:24

THIS HAS HAPPENED ALL OVER: false teachers fall back to the Law to get authority to be a "king set over us" and absolutely silence the Spirit of Christ speaking through the prophets. Chapter XXII.-So Also Were Sacrifices and Oblations.
"And that you may learn that it was for the sins of your own nation,
and for their idolatries and
not because there was any necessity for such sacrifices ,
that they were likewise enjoined, listen to the manner in which He speaks of these by Amos,

The word hear can be used in a good or evil sense: knowing can mean in a sexual sense or in some kind of "seeing beyond the sacred page."
CUNNING carries some of the meaning of enchantment: David needed Saul to go away. Remember that his job involved the worship of the starry host and he had no hesitation in making sure all of Saul's viable DNA was slaughtered even one as a human sacrifice. I will look at the total misunderstanding by Danny Corbitt when he askes What Happened to Praise when Jesus Came?
No Bible student would ever say that God changed His mind for the New Covenant. There are no LAWS ADDED to the Church of Christ. The direct command as the synagogue or school of the Bible is to SPEAK the Biblical text with the singing and melody in the PLACE of the human heart.
The command was not to primarily SING but to SPEAK for the purpose of teaching and admonishing one another. Singing as a ACT was imposed from the same Babylonia area in the year 373 and split the east and west churches. Even so, singing does not deliberately sow discord. So, congregational singing was not IMPOSED on anyone since the Reformation. Before that the Catholics never sang congregationally with organ accompaniment. None of the Restoration groups used instruments because they would be DIVISIVE or were CONDEMNED. It was only after the Civil war and the northern groups went home with full carpetbags that the building and organ war began IN THE NORTH.
THE DISCIPLES AUTHORITY
When the Church of Christ which had never in history used instruments refused to be NUMBERED with the Disciples sowing musical discord, the Christian Church was called DISCIPLES. If there is such a lust to unity then the Christian Church is BOUND to UNITE with the Disciples of Christ. Danny Corbitt uses the usual Romans 14 demanding that we "accept him whose faith is weak, without passing judgment on disputable matters." Romans 14.
That's Good but the text reads.
Rom. 14:1 Him that is weak in the faith receive ye, but not to doubtful disputations.
That means that private opinions are not allowed or private practices. The job of the assembly is contrary to the pagan worship centers where music was and is destructive to the emotional health of may people. While people could be judgmental based on where the people bought their food in the markets, Paul said that that which connected to the flesh was not part of the kingdom of peace. Since we have shown that they were excluded for the Church in the Wilderness and no one violated that as far as I can determine, the question would be "Do these passages INCLUDE the use of instruments." The answere is NO. Understanding the meaning of words means that instruments are OUTLAWED and there is no "tuneful" concept in any of Paul's writings.
