Nadab and Abihu The Law of Silance: In my tribe, Nadab and Abihu at times stumble into the fires of God. For instance, if there IS NO LAW in their memory, they feel free to, as they say, improvise or innovate on how and entire congregation is going to move into "a new style worship." Now, most often God has clearly spoken as He may have through Moses but the Nadabs and Abihus simply are deliberately ignorant of God's Word and therefore they see only silence. To them, silence is like a hole in the donut: they assume that the hole or God's silence is a DIVINE OVERSIGHT. "IF God had lived in our century He would approve of our innovations." But, because of the PLAY or musical idolatry at Mount Sinai, God MARKS their innovation with a FIERY LAW to legislate for the lawless until they are scattered or driven into captivity and death in Assyria and Babylon.
The total period of the not-commanded Monarchy signals that any musical performer who goes into the Church or Body of Christ typified by the Temple from which all performers were excluded, is worthy of Death. Jesus further calls the Scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites and in Ezekiel 33 names slick speakers, singers and instrument players.God abandoned Israel to worship the starry host because of musical idolatry at Mount Sinai
In Revelation 18 John calls the speakers, singers and instrument players sorcerers and consigns them to the lake of Fire. Christ in Isaiah 30 says that the marks of God driving His enemies into hell will be the sounds of wind, string and percussion instruments.Much of what Moses was a warning against the Canaanite Baalism the people would adopt proven by their musical idolatry at Mount Sinai. You cannot understand the Nadab-Abihu story unless you understand the pagan practices Moses intended to correct. The Book of Enoch--quoted many times in the New Testament--tells the story. Those for whom god would come in firey judgment were exactly those who silenced the voice of Christ in the Prophets and Apostles.
Mock the Nadab and Abihu story and prove what Jesus said: that truth had been hidden in parables from the foundation of the world for those who have no right to the kingdom because of their folly.
Nadab and Abihu performed all of their tasks terminated by going into the Holy Place at the Incense Altar.
They had not been authorized into any holy place on the penalty of death: the Levites were warrior musicians under the king and commanders of the army. They served the priests during the slaughter and burning of animals OUTSIDE of the Holy Place typical of the Body of Christ. The tribe of Levi--cursed by Jacob and warned against were the musical performers: an old Egyptian infant burning priesthood in Egypt, in the wilderness and in Jerusalem and Samaria. All of the "musical" mentions are connected with this worship of the starry host which means the Devil.
When the Levites went into the Holy Place, one of the fallen stars was Azazel or the Devil. The atonement was imposed because of this presumption and the goats (capellas) were offered to the the Devil to appease Him. Christ in the prophets claim that none of the sacrifices had been commanded when God saved them by grace at the Red Sea.
See a Review of Ronnie Norman from First Colony Church of Christ: he has imposed instruments, sowed massive discord and has fulfilled the end-time pattern of the Scape-Goat. You will remember that the Levitical Warrior Musicians were giving as a SACRIFICE to bear the burden of the whole nation. As such they sang and played instruments in the Temple plague stopping ritual: the instruments of the Levites were only sounded as they offered the GOATS for Israel who had defected and just mocked them. Because Israel had been abandoned to worship the starry host in a temple like all other nations such as Babylon and Greece, there are parallels for sacrificing the scapegoat or sorcerers identified in Revelation 18 as speakers, singers and instrument players. Music has always been noted as a way to try to REDEEM religious institutions which have fallen on hard times because the lied to God and about God.
SUMMARY Firstly, it is not a sign of a Bible student that he would use Nadab and Abihu as a LAW for NOT using musical instruments which are associated with bad people from Genesis to Revelation and all of the commentary contemporaneous with the period when the Bible was being taught around the area. Those who impose instruments knowing that it will sow discord use "the law of silence." "The Law hath not said 'thou shalt NOT use instruments' therefore we gonna IMPOSE them." Then, from the beginning even with J.W.McGarvey it was in effect "get over it or get out."
However, those who make fun of the Nadab and Abihu story are fooled just as Jesus said they were fooled from the foundation of the world by parables. A parable does not mean that it is not true but that it is MORE than a surface reading. It would be well to begin with Jacob whom Jesus approved along with Abrham and the prophets:
Jacob says I have waited for thy salvation, O Lord!" Of Simeon and Levi the patriarch remarks that they
Gen. 49:5 Simeon and Levi are brethren; instruments [Sword or Musical]
of cruelty are in their habitations.
Gen. 49:6 O my soul, come not thou into their secret;
unto their assembly, mine honour, be not thou united:
for in their anger they slew a man, and in their selfwill they digged down a wall.Gen. 49:6 O my soul, come not thou into their secret;
unto their assembly, mine honour, be not thou united:
for in their anger they slew a man, and in their selfwill
they digged down a wall.
The secret is 5475. cowd, sode; from 3245; a session, i.e. company of persons (in close deliberation); by implication, intimacy, consultation, a secret:-assembly, consel, inward, secret (counsel)
The Israelites had been turned over to worship the starry host (Acts 7) because of musical idolatry at Mount Sinai: Stephen confirms what Amos said about the use of David's warrior's instruments for their sabbaths. This was NOT Jehovah they worshipped whatever their Scribes wrote.
Cyril of Alexandria, Commentary on John,
That the Pharisees puffed up unto strange boasting,
were wont to pretend that the Divine Word was with them and in them,
and therefore foolishly affirmed that they had advanced to marvellous wisdom,
the Spirit Itself will testify,
since Christ says by the Prophet Jeremiah unto them,
How do ye say, WE are wise, and the word of the Lord is with us?
For nought to the scribes became their lying pen;
the wise men were ashamed, were dismayed and taken;
what wisdom is in them? because they rejected the word of the Lord.
For how are they not taken rejecting the Living and Hypostatic Word of God,
receiving not the faith to Him-ward,
but dishonouring the Impress of God the Father,
and refusing to behold His most true Form (so to say)
through His God-befitting Authority and Power?
Dunlap, in his introduction to "Sod, the Mysteries of Adonis," explains the word "Sod" as arcanum, religious mystery, on the authority of Schindler's "Penteglott." "The secret of the Lord is with them that fear him," says Psalm xxv., 14. This is a mistranslation of the Christians, for it ought to read "Sod Ihoh (the mysteries of Ihoh) are for those who fear him" (Dunlap, "Mysteries of Adonis," xi). "Al (El) is terrible in the great Sod of the Kadeshim (the priests, the holy, the Initiated), Psalm lxxxix, 7" (ibid.). The Kadeshim were very far from holy. (Vide Part II., "The Holy of Holies.")
You can see more of this in the women's worship of Tammuz while the men held a Sun Rise service to their sun god in Ezekiel who also identifies the speakers, singers and instrument players as hypocrites.AND Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, took either of them his censer, and put fire therein, and put incense thereon, and offered strange fire before the Lord, which he commanded them not. Leviticus 10:1Chronology is not easy but here are some clues:

AND Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron,

which he commanded them not. Leviticus 10.1

After God had abandoned Israel because of Musical idolatry at Mount Sinai, the Levites were made as a sacrificial offering (Scapegoat) for the whole nation and as such had NO INHERITANCE. Animal sacrifices AT the temple would be in Jerusalem and inside of the walls.
The Levites became the Warrior Musicians under David: they received their orders from the king and commanders of the army. God had "turned them over to worship the starry host" because of musical idolatry at Mount Sinai. When the elders "fired" God, Hosea records "I gave them kings in my anger and took them away in my anger." The Monarchy, animal sacrifices, the king, temple etal was LIKE THE NATIONS because that is what God abandoned them to. That is why almost all of the instrumental Psalms are judgmental and intended to drive the enemy into panic and cowardice.
- No Levitical singer or musican could EVER enter into the presence of the incense altar between the Holy Place and Most Holy Place, in Hezekiah's reform (Peck preference) EVEN to clean out the garbage left over from pagan idolatry.
- The "civilians" could never come near the tabernacle or temple without incurring the death penalty.
- The Levites could never enter into the Holy Place which typified the church.
- No Israelite people ever engaged in "congregational singing with instrumental accompaniment."
- This was all part of the CURSE of the sacrificial system which God quarantined to Jerusalem which was already a Jebusite High Place.
Ony 57 of the "book" of Psalms are mizmors: seven of these including the "instrument" psalms were dedicated and restricted to the Levites for special purpose. Therefore, there are no MIZMORS in the "book" called Psalms (Greek) which were used by the Jews after they ceased cantillating the PROSE text and are those commanded by Paul.
Even under the Monarchy the musical guilds had Canaanite names and functional titles. Why? Why, because God abandoned them to Sabazianism which was the same old Bacchus or Dionysus worship they inherited from Egypt.
The PATTERNISM is that if a musical worship minister "stands in the holy place" of church architecture and CLAIMS to be THE mediator to "lead you into the presence of God" they would have been executed under the patternism of the Law.
Therefore, the Bible is SILENT only to those whose ears have been plugged and eyes poked out.
They did FIVE THINGS when God had been SILENT. But, what harm did they do? Not a single thing: the lesson was that GOD has the right to COMMAND and if He has not commanded then God is SILENT and if you PRESUME in the face of an infinite God you simply are NOT suitable material to move on to the Spirit World where body worship is not possible.
That means that God HAD NOT commanded them to do ANY of that: even if they used non-pagan fire they had NOT been commanded to take incense before the Lord.
Commanded them not DOES NOT means that God has send a MESSENGER and commanded: "Don't YOU offer incense." When God wants something done He sends a messenger and tells them WHAT to do. If God has not sent you a message to MAKE MUSIC in the church then you are burnable material.
Commanded is:
H6680 tsavah tsaw-vaw' A primitive root; (intensively) to constitute, enjoin:--appoint, (for-) bid. (give a) charge, (give a, give in, send with) command (-er, ment), send a messenger, put, (set) in order.
When Miriam presumed to speak for God He smacked her with a dose of leprosy. He also said that when He commanded He spoke FACE TO FACE. God had appeared to MOSES face to face.
Musical performers (sectarian hypocrites) are NOT Moses or Jesus or MEEK:
Num 12:3 (Now the man Moses was very meek, above all the men which were upon the face of the earth.)
Num 12:6 And he said, Hear now my words: If there be a prophet among you, I the LORD will make myself known unto him in a vision, and will speak unto him in a dream.
Num 12:7 My servant Moses is not so, who is faithful in all mine house.
Num 12:8 With him will I speak mouth to mouth, even apparently, and not in dark speeches; and the similitude of the LORD shall he behold: wherefore then were ye not afraid to speak against my servant Moses?
Num 12:9 And the anger of the LORD was kindled against them; and he departed.
Num 12:10 And the cloud departed from off the tabernacle; and, behold, Miriam became leprous, white as snow: and Aaron looked upon Miriam, and, behold, she was leprous.
He HAD NOT appeared to Nadab, Abihu or modern presumptions people who BOAST about bringing people into GOD'S PRESENCE with music when the FACE TO FACE instructions said that they would be killed EVEN in offering animal sacrifices.
For Instructions about SPIRITUAL WORSHIP (Which the Temple did not involve) People would wait from Moses to Jesus before God again spoke FACE TO FACE:
See that ye refuse not him that speaketh. For if they escaped not who refused him that spake on earth, much more shall not we escape, if we turn away from him that speaketh from heaven: Heb 12:25
Whose voice then SHOOK the earth: but now he hath promised, saying, Yet ONCE MORE I shake not the earth only, but also heaven. Heb 12:26
And this word, Yet once more, signifieth the REMOVING of those things that are shaken, as of things that are made, that those things which cannot be shaken [a trumpet-like word] may remain. Heb 12:27
Wherefore we RECEIVING a KINGDOM which cannot be moved, let us have GRACE,
whereby we may SERVE God acceptably with REVERENCE and godly fear: Heb 12:28
For our God is a consuming fire. Heb 12:29

People who offer Music as Worship violates all of the examples including that of Jesus who commanded FACE TO FACE. They offer STRANGE (wandering minstrels were prostitutes or sodomites) music. They SHAKE the congregation. They are MASSIVLY innrevrent. They DO NOT fear God. they have NO RESPECT for the fealings of others which Paul DEMANDED in Romans 14-15.
Reverence is:
Aidos (g127) ahee-doce'; perh. from 1 (as a neg. particle) and 1492 (through the idea of downcast eyes); bashfulness, i.e. (towards men), modesty or (towards God) awe: - reverence, shamefacedness.
Aidôs, oos, contr. ous, ê (late nom. pl. aidoi Sch.E.Hipp.386), as a moral feeling,
A. reverence, awe, respect for the feeling or opinion of others or for one's own conscience, and so shame, self-respect
2. regard for others, respect, reverence, regard for the helpless, compassion
I say that from ALL of the Bible, secular connections between music and religionism, all of church theologians, all of the DELIBERATE DISCORD when music is pushed that:
For our God is a consuming fire. Heb 12:29But on the other hand, if people are limited to the inspired psalms of the scriptures in the worship of God, then those who use hymns of human composition are acting without divine authority, and may be said to resemble those of old who made use of strange fire in their censers before the Lord. Hugh Brown, Presbyterian.
For he will act with vigour again, and prove strong by reason of the laws established by him; and he will cause all those who will not worship the image of the beast to be put to death. Here the faith and the patience of the saints will appear, for he says: "And he will cause all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand or in their forehead; that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, the name of the beast, or the number of his name."
For, being full of guile, and exalting himself against the servants of God, with the wish to afflict them and persecute them out of the world, because they give not glory to him,
he will order incense-pans 110 to be set up by all everywhere, that no man among the saints may be able to buy or sell without first sacrificing;
for this is what is meant by the mark received upon the right hand. And the word-"in their forehead"- indicates that all are crowned, and put on a crown of fire, and not of life, but of death.Note 110: pureia = censers, incense-pans, or sacrificial tripods. This offering of incense was a test very commonly proposed by the pagans to those whose religion they suspected.
For in this wise, too, did Antiochus Epiphanes the king of Syria, the descendant of Alexander of Macedon, devise measures against the Jews. He, too, in the exaltation of his heart, issued a decree in those times,
that "all should set up shrines before their doors, and sacrifice,Incentor, o-ris, m. [id.] , [1] one who sets the tune or begins to sing, a precentor, singer (post-class.). One who plays the water organ

See Zoe in Phoenix delivering a Consuming Fire. Their approach to DOING worship includes all of the performing arts Satan is claimed to have taught the early rebels how to defeat the LIVING WORD with a "new style worship."

The event which broke the Covenant of Grace is remembered:

What was so disgusting that God broke the Covenant and conditionally sentenced the nation to captivity and death? The word is PLAY but it means using music in religious services. Why is it IDOLATROUS? Simply because it violates the unspoken rule that God's silence must be observed: you cannot approach God without reverence and Godly fear without getting burned up. Paul makes that an eternal law which grace does not cover;
"The triumphal hymn of Moses had unquestionably a religious character about it; but the employment of music in religious services, though idolatrous, is more distinctly marked in the festivities which attended the erection of the golden calf." (Smith's Bible Dictionary, Music, p. 589).
Ephraim Syrus On Our Lord notes that Sinai was a test. The Israelites were consummate idolaters in Egypt. However, God gave them one more shot at the Abrahamic Covenant. By removing Moses as a visible "authority figure" He wanted to let them answer their own prayer:
18. But when their heathenism from being inward became open, then Moses also from being hidden openly appeared; that he might openly punish those whose heathenism had reveled beneath the holy cloud which had overshadowed them.
But God removed the Shepherd of the flock from it for forty days, that the flock might show that its trust was fixed upon the calf.
And he was there in the wilderness forty days tempted of Satan; and was with the wild beasts; and the angels ministered unto him. Mark 1:13
While God was feeding the flock with all delights, it chose for itself as its Shepherd the calf, which was not able even to eat.
Moses who kept them in awe was removed from them, that the idolatry might cry aloud in their mouths, which the restraint of Moses had kept down in their hearts. For they cried: Make us gods, to go before us.19. But when Moses came down, he saw their heathenism reveling in the wide plain with drums and cymbals.
Speedily, he put their madness to shame by means of the Levites and drawn swords.
So likewise here, our Lord concealed His knowledge for a little when the sinful woman approached Him, that the Pharisee might form into shape his thought,as his fathers had shaped the pernicious calf.
Paul also warns that the penalties for RISING UP TO PLAY was demon worship. Even under Grace it shows contempt rather than reverence for God:
Neither be ye idolaters, as were some of them; as it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play. 1 Corinthians 10:7
Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come 1 Corinthians 10:11.
Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall. 1 Corinthians 10:12
"Paul, however, fixes attention on the feast which was entirely after the manner of idol worship.
By doing this Paul strikes home directly at the Corinthians who thought that they, too, could preserve their relation to Jehovah while, pretending to make use of their liberty,
........ they ate, drank, and amused themselves at idol celebrations. This very thing the Israelites of old attempted when they feasted upon the offerings brought to the golden calf and then rose up 'to play,' to dance and to have a gay time after the fashion they had learned from the idolatrous Egyptians." (Lenski, 1 Cor., p. 397-398).
As a result of the musical idolatry at Mount Sinai--rising up to play--God gave them the Book of the Law to rule the unruly. After punishment, God ordained the Levites to stand between the people and the Tabernacle as the symbol of His presence. All but the Levites and Priests were now strangers and the clergy must bear the burden for the people. Therefore, in Deuteronomy, the second law or that "in addition to the Covenant":
And mount Sinai was altogether on a smoke, because the Lord descended upon it in fire: and the smoke thereof ascended as the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mount quaked greatly. Deut.33:1
And he said, The Lord came from Sinai, and rose up from Seir unto them; he shined forth from mount Paran, and he came with ten thousands of saints: from his right hand went a fiery (burning-goad) law for them. Deut 33:2
Yea, he loved the people; all his saints are in thy hand: and they sat down at thy feet; every one shall receive of thy words. Deut 33:3
Enoch Book One 1:1 Behold, he comes with ten thousands of his saints, to execute judgment upon them, and destroy the wicked, and reprove all the carnal for everything which the sinful and ungodly have done, and committed against him.
And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints, Jude 14
To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him. Jude 15
Yet, fire is dangerous: it attracts the moth but burns if it gets too close.

This theme of Covenant, sin, and the Law is repeated in The Book of Jubilees

In much the same way the sin of Nadab and Abihu interrupted the giving of the Law of Moses.
Chapter nine of Leviticus ends with God's will being carried out. He said nothing in this sacrifice about burning incense. Therefore, at this time Moses was SILENT.
And Aaron lifted up his hand toward the people, and blessed them, and came down from offering of the sin offering, and the burnt offering, and peace offerings. Lev 9:22
And Moses and Aaron went into the tabernacle of the congregation, and came out, and blessed the people: and the glory of the Lord appeared unto all the people. Lev 9:23
And there came a fire out from before the Lord, and consumed upon the altar the burnt offering and the fat: which when all the people saw, they shouted, and fell on their faces. Lev 9:24
The COMMANDED rituals had been performed. The fire from heaven was proof that it was all finished. However, Nadab and Abihu WITH NO COMMAND FROM GOD took it upon themselves to go right into the table of incense.
As a vital example given by God about not going beyond what has been commanded or written, it is tempting to go to other sacrificial rituals or commands and say that they violated a DIRECT COMMAND. However, Moses makes it clear that they were operating out of silence, believing that if God had not said "thou shalt not" then they could improvise or innovate.
AND Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, took either of them his censer, and put fire therein, and put incense thereon, and offered strange fire before the Lord, which he commanded them not. Leviticus 10:1
Zuwr (h2114) zoor; a prim. root; to turn aside (espec. for lodging); hence to be a foreigner, strange, profane; spec. (act. part.) to commit adultery: - (come from) another (man. place), fanner, go away, (e-) strange (-r, thing, woman).
There you have it as clearly as the Holy Spirit wanted it said: Acting from SILENCE these two men just IMPROVISED something which was probably to AID God's plans. Strange means that, like the musical ritual at Mount Sinai, was something they learned elsewhere but not from God.
Genun the Canaanite, son of Lamech the Blind, living in the Land of the Slime Pits,
........ was ruled by Azael from his earliest youth,
........ and invented all sorts of musical instruments. When he played these,
........ ........ Azael entered into them too,
........ ........ so that they gave forth seductive tunes entrancing the hearts of all listeners.Genun would assemble companies of musicians, who inflamed one another with music until their lust burned bright like fire,
and they lay together promiscuously. He also brewed beer, gathered great crowds in taverns, gave them to drink, and taught them to forge iron swords and spear-points, with which to do murder at random when they were drunk.
The Sons of God: 9. Many details of the Genun story, taken from the fifth-century A.D. Ethiopian Book of Adam, are paralleled in midrashic writings.
Although Genun's name suggests "Kenan," who appears in Genesis V:9 as the son of Enoch, he is a composite Kenite character: the invention of musical instruments being attributed in Genesis to Jubal,
and of edged iron blades to his brother Tubal Cain.
Genun was said to occupy "the Land of the Slime Pits," namely the southern shores of the Dead Sea (Genesis XIV:10), doubtless because the evil city of Sodom stood there (see 32:6).Lactanius speaking of THE ORIGIN OF ERROR:
Persius was displeased that golden vessels should be carried into the temples, since he thought it superfluous that that should be reckoned among religious offerings which was not an instrument of sanctity, but of avarice. For these are the things which it is better to offer as a gift to the god whom you would rightly worship:-
"Written law and the divine law of the conscience, and the sacred recesses of the mind, and the breast imbued with nobleness."
But there is this difference, that when men we have greater subjects of sport.
Therefore men offer to these dolls, which are of large size, and adorned as though for the stage, both perfumes, and incense, and odours: they sacrifice to these costly and fattened victims, which have a mouth, but one that is not suitable for eating; to these they bring robes and costly garments, though they have no need of clothing; to these they dedicate gold and silver, of which they who receive them are as destitute as they who have given them.
To mitigate the scapegoat practice, which often made a human enemy into the goat, God commanded Israel to send a real goat to eleminate human sacrifice. This would signify that no human can remove the guilt for my own problems. The goat was not magical but it promised that God would be their Personal Atonement.
Velikovsky refers to other documents and states his belief that this had once been connected with star worship:
"On the day of Atonement the Israelites used to send a scapegoat to "azazel" in the desert. It was a ceremony of propitiation of Satan. In Egypt the goat was an animal dedicated to Seth-Typhon. Azaxel was a fallen star or Lucifer. On the day on which the Jubilee year was proclaimed, the Israelites dispatched a placating offering of a scapegoat to Lucifer. In Mexico, the Aztecs offered human sacrifices in the belief that they could prevent Venus from destroying the nation every 52 years. (They also had a 52 week or yearly "Jubilee.")
"Babylon was built as an image of heaven on earth. The New Year Festival was celebrated in April:
"The festival solemnly enthroned the king and established his reign for another year. Yet this political stability could only endure insofar as it participated in the more enduring and effective government of the gods, who brought order out of primordial chaos when they created the world.
The eleven sacred days of the Festival thus projected the participants outside profane time and into the sacred and eternal world of the gods by means of ritual gestures. A scapegoat was killed to cancel th old, dying year; the public humiliation of the king and the enthronement of the carnival king in his place reproduced the original chaos; a mock battle reenacted the struggle of the gods against the forces of destruction.
"On the afternoon of the fourth day of the Festival, priests and choristers filled the Holy of Holies to recite the Enuma Elish, the epic poem which celebra
Much of the Hebrew worship was dedicated to star worship or astrology. However, the Spirit of Christ was predicting that a time would come when He would be the one time atonement for mankind. In this effort, He would go outside the gate and battle Lucifer, the he goat, as He went out as the true Lamb of God. As His blood was shed outside the gate, He defeated Lucifer once for all. The goat was:
Azazel (h5799) az-aw-zale'; from 5795 and 235 (wander to and fro, spent); goat of departure; the scapegoat: - scapegoat.
You remember that when Israel ROSE UP TO PLAY at Mount Sinai it was the musical idolatry of Babylon, Egypt and Canaan. Stephen and others said that God TURNED THEM OVER to worship the STARRY HOST. Paul pointed back to the musical idolatry in Romans 10 and in 1 Corinthians 10. The simple word PLAY enfolds a sin so horrible that God tore up THE BOOK OF THE COVENANT of Grace and added the LAW to regulate the lawless. The word is used of MUSICAL IDOLATRY in many places. The scape goat indicates that Satan was involved with Nadab and Abihu.
Lucifer or Heylel is pictured as one of the Cherubim who guarded the Throne or Mercy Seat in the Most Holy Place.
Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire. Ezek 28:14
Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee. Ezek 28:15
By the multitude of thy merchandise they have filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned: therefore I will cast thee as profane out of the mountain of God: and I will destroy thee, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire. Ezek 28:16
Cast as Profane is the Hebrew Chalal (h2490). It is used of "playing the flute, pollute or prostitute." It means TO TAKE ONE'S INHERITANCE.
Chalal (h2490) khaw-lal'; to wound, to dissolve; fig. to profane.. denom. (from 2485) to play (the flute): defile, gather the grape thereof, * take inheritance, pipe, player on instruments, pollute, (cast as profane (self), prostitute, slay..
Halal (h1984) haw-lal'; a prim. root; to be clear (orig. of sound, but usually of color); to shine; hence to make a show, to boast; and thus to be (clamorously) foolish; to rave; causat. to celebrate; also to stultify: - (make) boast (self), celebrate, commend, (deal, make), fool (- ish, -ly), glory, give [light], be (make, feign self) mad (against), give in marriage, [sing, be worthy of] praise, rage, renowned, shine.
Heylel (h1966) hay-lale'; from 1984 (in the sense of brightness); the morning-star: - lucifer.
Lucifer brought musical instruments when she was cast out of heaven: wind, strng and percussion instruments. In The Book of Enoch and dozens of other ancient accounts it was Satan who taught the YOUTH to form choirs, use instrumental music and perverted sexuality. These are the targets of GOD COMING WITH TEN THOUSAND OF HIS SAINTS to judge.
The RISING UP TO PLACE proves that the idea of MUSIC in the worship of a Spirit God was derived from their old musical idolatry in Egypt.
Nadab and Abihu were burned and then cast out as profane:
Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness: I will cast thee to the ground, I will lay thee before kings, that they may behold thee. Exe 28:17
Thou hast defiled (h2490) thy sanctuaries by the multitude of thine iniquities, by the iniquity of thy traffick; therefore will I bring forth a fire from the midst of thee, it shall devour thee, and I will bring thee to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all them that behold thee. Ezek 28:18
The azazel or SCAPEGOAT was added after this sin of Nadab and Abihu. Azazel and other fallen agents of Satan or Lucifer taught mortals how to use music and other ARTS AND CRAFTS to IMPROVE on the silence of God.
When people ignorantly TURN AWAY from the Word of God for direction they DO NOT improvize or innovate: they open the SWEPT CLEAN mind to invite Satan to move in with his demons.
Strange is the Hebrew:
Zuwr (h2114) zoor; a prim. root; to turn aside (espec. for lodging); hence to be a foreigner, strange, profane; spec. (act. part.) to commit adultery: - (come from) another (man. place), fanner, go away, (e-) strange (-r, thing, woman). The word SING as when the king/queen CHANGE AGENT of Lucifer SANG like a PROSTITUTE.
And it shall come to pass in that day, that Tyre shall be forgotten seventy years, according to the days of one king: after the end of seventy years shall Tyre sing as an harlot. Is.23:15
That SONG went:
Take an harp, go about the city, thou harlot that hast been forgotten; make sweet melody, sing many songs, that thou mayest be remembered. Is.23:16
It points to:
Shuwr (h7788) shoor; a prim. root; prop. to turn, i. e. travel about (as a HARLOT or a MERCHANT): - go, sing. See also 7891.The ships of Tarshish did sing of thee in thy market: and thou wast replenished, and made very glorious in the midst of the seas. Eze.27:25
These TRAFFICKERS are agents of Lucifer or Satan when they use the MUSICAL PROSTITUTES to put the customers at ease to take back their merchandise and then murder the customers. WenAmun is such a preserved account.
Tim Woodroof of Nashville has recently published a book entitled, A Church that Flies (A New Call to Restoration in the Churches of Christ). His theme is
"discover unconventional forms for refreshed religious expression" (p. 138)
"the advocacy for change and for the discovery of new expressions of faith that represents the true restoration spirit" (p. 139).There is always a but:
And there went out fire from the Lord, and devoured them, and they died before the Lord. Leviticus 10:2
The holy fire which showed God's favor could also turn into a consuming fire for those who refused to come before God's presence with reverence and fear. Paul will prove this in Hebrews. Matthew Henry commented that:
Look at Exodus 30:34-38 and Lev. 16:1-2.
"It does not appear the they had any orders to burn incense at all at this time. It is true their consecration was completed the day before, and it was part of their work, as priests, to serve at the altar of incense;
but, it should seem, the whole service of this solemn day of inauguration was to be performed by Aaron himself, for he slew the sacrifices (ch. 9:8, 15, 18),
and his sons were only to attend him (v. 9, 12, 18); therefore Moses and Aaron only went into the tabernacle, v. 23.
But Nadab and Abihu were so proud of the honour they were newly advanced to, and so ambitious of doing the highest and most honourable part of their work immediately, that though the service of this day was extraordinary, and done by particular direction from Moses,
yet without receiving orders, or so much as asking leave from him, they took their censers, and they would enter into the tabernacle, at the door of which they thought they had attended long enough, and would burn incense.
And then their offering strange fire is the same with offering strange incense, which is expressly forbidden, Ex. 30:9. Matthew Henry Lev 10
Early Jews believed that they came into God's presence with neither reverence nor fear. They simply did not grasp the difference between an infinite Holy Spirit God and the old gods of Egyptian idolatry where drinking, music, processions and even nakedness was welcomed to feed or entertain the old gods. Therefore, God's message was then and continued according to Paul in Hebrews 12:
Then Moses said unto Aaron, This is it that the Lord spake, saying, I will be sanctified in them that come nigh me, and before all the people I will be glorified. And Aaron held his peace. Leviticus 10:3
Sanctified: means clean or purified. The priest must wash the total body before he could come before the Lord in a spiritual sense. This is why Jesus Christ commanded that one must believe and be baptized and receive A holy spirit (Mk 16:15-15). Peter showed how one might come into God's presence in Acts 2:38. He repeated this in 1 Peter 3:21. Baptism is where the body is WASHED and one asks God for a clear conscience. Without this one CANNOT come boldly before the throne of Grace. Heb.4:16
Furthermore, no performing priest can stand between God and His grace and receive the glory. Any failure, even in the Christian System, to come before God with reverence and fear will subject you to God's fire.
Glorified is: Kabad (h3513) kaw-bad'; or 3515 kaw-bade'; a prim. root; to be heavy,... in a good sense (numerous, rich, honorable); causat. to make weighty (in the same two senses): - abounding with, ... glorify, be (make) glorious (things), glory, (very) great
Modern performance preaching and "musical" performance is rightly called the idolatry of talent. The "Lucifer principle" is to bleed off glory due God for the performer.
And Moses called Mishael and Elzaphan, the sons of Uzziel the uncle of Aaron, and said unto them, Come near, carry your brethren from before the sanctuary out of the camp. Leviticus 10:4
Something precious was lost at Mount Sinai. God provided the free Grace of the Covenant. Israel took their pledge and within forty days had returned to MUSICAL IDOLATRY. The Law of Moses was imposed as a heavy burden.
When Nadab and Abihu tried to fill in for God's SILENCE they again made a fundamental shift in the way God dealt with them. This is to be understood because the musical idolatry at Sinai had conditionally sentenced them to captivity and death. God was removing them from Egypt to fulfill His promise but they were so wicked that he was "scattering them" and leading them into Babylon. Matthew Henry notes:
I. The date of this law concerning the day of atonement: it was after the death of the two sons of Aaron (v. 1), which we read, ch. 10:1.
1. Lest Aaron should fear that any remaining guilt of that sin should cleave to his family, or (seeing the priests were so apt to offend) that some after-sin of his other sons should be the ruin of his family, he is directed how to make atonement for his house, that it might keep in with God; for the atonement for it would be the establishment of it, and preserve the entail of the blessing upon it.
2. The priests being warned by the death of Nadab and Abihu to approach to God with reverence and godly fear (without which they came at their peril), directions are here given how the nearest approach might be made, not only without peril, but to unspeakable advantage and comfort, if the directions were observed. When they were cut off for an undue approach, the rest must not say, "Then we will not draw near at all,'' but, "Then we will do it by rule.'' They died for their sin, therefore God graciously provides for the rest, that they die not.
Thus God's judgments on some should be instructions to others.
Paul warned about SHAKING which speaks of loud instruments:
Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear: Hebrews 12:28
For our God is a consuming fire. Heb 12:29

Micah 7: [2] The godly man has perished out of the earth, And there is no one upright among men. They all lie in wait for blood; Every man hunts his brother with a net. [3] Their hands are on that which is evil to do it diligently. The ruler and judge ask for a bribe; And the powerful man dictates the evil desire of his soul. Thus they conspire together.
Without some regulation for how God is to be approached, people will bring the vilest things in to appease the appetites of the worshipers: singing, clapping, music, dancing, wine and the sexuality. The sacrifice of Jesus Christ brought this privilege and peril to a much higher level.
Therefore, chapter 16 Moses picks up the story of Nadab and Abihu and the consequences of their VIOLATION OF SILENCE.
AND the Lord spake unto Moses after the death of the two sons of Aaron, when they offered before the Lord, and died; Lev 16:1
The fact that God institutes new regulations and introduces the SCAPEGOAT shows that God wanted to show the sinfulness of their presumption by issuing new regulations:
And the Lord said unto Moses, Speak unto Aaron thy brother,
that he come not at all times into the holy place within the vail before the mercy seat, which is upon the ark; that he die not: for I will appear in the cloud upon the mercy seat. Lev 16:2
The scapegoat to azazel was likely making them simply send away the stinking goat to continually warn them not to sacrifice to STRANGE gods.
Next, God provided for the scapegoat:
And he shall take of the congregation of the children of Israel two kids of the goats for a sin offering, and one ram for a burnt offering. Lev 16:5
And Aaron shall offer his bullock of the sin offering, which is for himself,
and make an atonement for himself, and for his house. Lev 16:6
Matthew Henry notes that: "Some think that goats were chosen for the sin-offering because, by the disagreeableness of their smell, the offensiveness of sin is represented: others think, because it was said that the demons which the heathens then worshipped often appeared to their worshippers in the form of goats, God therefore obliged his people to sacrifice goats, that they might never be tempted to sacrifice to goats.
The scapegoat is Azazel. He is specifically the fallen angel who taught the youth how to steal the worship due to God. The Israelites brought the old Babylon Harlot worship with them from Egypt. Therefore, the sons of Aaron substituted STRANGE or foreign offering of Incense. God HAD NOT SAID: "Thou shalt not" so they used the LAW OF SILENCE just as modern people--playing with fire--are restoring the same Babylonian rituals because they assume the right to innovate and improvise.
Book of Enoch 8:1 And Azazel taught men to make swords, and knives, and shields, and breastplates, and made known to them the metals of the earth and the art of working them, and bracelets, and ornaments, and the use of antimony, and the beautifying of the eyelids, and all kinds of costly stones, and all
8: 2 colouring tinctures. And there arose much godlessness, and they committed fornication, and they
8: 3 were led astray, and became corrupt in all their ways. Semjaza taught enchantments, and root-cuttings, 'Armaros the resolving of enchantments, Baraqijal (taught) astrology, Kokabel the constellations, Ezeqeel the knowledge of the clouds, Araqiel the signs of the earth, Shamsiel the signs of the sun, and Sariel the course of the moon. And as men perished, they cried, and their cry went up to heaven . . .
In John's view from Patmos he could see the island on which CIRCE or KIRKE or "church" was burried. Circe used root cuttings and administered them along with her enchanting songs with instruments. This is defined as Sorcery or "phramacy." Here drug is believed to be a form of our Mayapple root and its fruit. Her legend about trapping men and turning them into "beasts" is quite parallel to John's definition of the Holy Whore whose musicians and instruments will again be destroyed along with her (Rev. 18)
This is repeated in the Babylonian Tablets where Inanna (the holy prostitute) steals the perverted "worship" knowledge from Ea the father or grandfather god:
"In the name of my power! In the name of my holy shrine!
- To my daughter Inanna I shall give Truth!
- Descent into the underworld!
- Ascent from the underworld!
- The art of lovemaking!
- The art of kissing the phallus!"
- He gave me the holy shrine.
- He gave me the holy priestess of heaven.
- He gave me the resounding musical instrument.
- He gave me the art of song.
- He gave me the art of the elder.
- He gave me the kurgurra.
The kurgarru, the assinu, and the kulu'u performed plays, music, dances, and games (rising up to play) during rituals. These were musical worship teams in addition to the eldership stolen from the "god."
Inanna is the prototype of many gods or goddesses. She is even identified with Eve or ZOE which Paul warns was wholly seduced as a virgin was seduced. She gave birth probably to twins and Cain (a musical note) is said to have "been OF that wicked one."
The king of Tyre was the agent of Lucifer according to Ezekiel. In describing the breastplate two Israelite tribes are left out. They are replaced with tambourines and flutes or pipes:
Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created. Eze.28:13
At that time Tyre will be forgotten for seventy years, the span of a king's life. But at the end of these seventy years, it will happen to Tyre as in the song of the prostitute: Is.23:15
Take up a harp, walk through the city, O prostitute forgotten; play the harp well, sing many a song, so that you will be remembered." Is.23:16
At the end of seventy years, the LORD will deal with Tyre. She will return to her hire as a prostitute and will ply her trade with all the kingdoms on the face of the earth. Is.23:17
The offering of the He Goats was beyond the worship of Satan and his fallen angels. Rather, it was a perpetual warning against the addition of Egyptian or Babylon forms of offerings to God which is done later with music and loud shouting. This is a repudiation of Satan and not the musical worship of Jehovah.
As both Nadab and Abihu both rushed into the Most Holy place with a great commotion according to the Jews, God commanded that the holy place itself must be atoned for because they represented the presumptuous sins of all of the nation.
And he shall make an atonement for the holy place, because of the uncleanness of the children of Israel, and because of their transgressions in all their sins: and so shall he do for the tabernacle of the congregation, that remaineth among them in the midst of their uncleanness. Lev 16:16
And there shall be no man in the tabernacle of the congregation when he goeth in to make an atonement in the holy place, until he come out, and have made an atonement for himself, and for his household, and for all the congregation of Israel. Lev 16:17
And the day of Atonement was instituted:
And the bullock for the sin offering, and the goat for the sin offering, whose blood was brought in to make atonement in the holy place, shall one carry forth without the camp; and they shall burn in the fire their skins, and their flesh, and their dung. Lev 16:27
And he that burneth them shall wash his clothes, and bathe his flesh in water, and afterward he shall come into the camp. Lev 16:28
And this shall be a statute for ever unto you: that in the seventh month, on the tenth day of the month, ye shall afflict your souls, and do no work at all, whether it be one of your own country, or a stranger that sojourneth among you: Lev 16:29
For on that day shall the priest make an atonement for you, to cleanse you, that ye may be clean from all your sins before the Lord. Lev 16:30
It shall be a sabbath of rest unto you, and ye shall afflict your souls, by a statute for ever. Lev 16:31
This prefigures the sending away of the sins of mankind which could never be achieved by the ceremonial laws:
But into the second went the high priest alone once every year, not without blood, which he offered for himself, and for the errors of the people: Heb 9:7
The Holy Ghost this signifying, that the way into the holiest of all was not yet made manifest, while as the first tabernacle was yet standing: Heb 9:8
Which was a figure for the time then present, in which were offered both gifts and sacrifices, that could not make him that did the service perfect, as pertaining to the conscience; Heb 9:9
And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission. Hebrews 9:22
It was therefore necessary that the patterns of things in the heavens should be purified with these; but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these. Hebrews 9:23
For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us: Hebrews 9:24
Paul says this after saying that the Old Covenant ALSO had regulations of worship:
THEN verily the first covenant had also ordinances of divine service, and a worldly sanctuary. Hebrews 9:1
If, therefore, we attempt to worship God as the Jews might try to worship God in a worldly sanctuary we may find God's hot breath slowly consuming us.
Remember that Israel came to Mount Sinai after God had rescued them from the idolatry of Canaan, He did not tell them not to make a golden calf.
But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels, Hebrews 12:22
To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect, Hebrews 12:23
And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel. Hebrews 12:24
See that ye refuse not him that speaketh. For if they escaped not who refused him that spake on earth, much more shall not we escape, if we turn away from him that speaketh from heaven: Hebrews 12:25
Whose voice then shook the earth: but now he hath promised, saying, Yet once more I shake not the earth only, but also heaven. Hebrews 12:26
And this word, Yet once more, signifieth the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that are made, that those things which cannot be shaken may remain. Hebrews 12:27
Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear: Hebrews 12:28
For our God is a consuming fire. Heb 12:29
The Spirit which would rest on Messiah would be:
And the spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord Isa 11:2
And shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the Lord: and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears: Isa 11:3
Those who refuse to be reverent or grasp the fear of the Lord cannot have the Spirit of God living in them.
Notice that Grace gives us liberty to improvise our worship to God. Rather, Grace means power. This is the power to worship god believing that He is infinitely greater than we. This means that it would be PRESUMPTUOUS SIN to think that we, like Nadab and Abihu can ignore God's loud silence.
Him that spake on earth:
Moses spoke the Book of the Covenant which had no true sacrificial system. The people fell into musical idolatry and many died. God gave THE BOOK OF THE LAW. That is, the rising up to play in musical idolatry interrupted the Covenant of Grace and a free access to the presence of God.
When Moses and Aaron instituted the sacrifices imposed because of this transgression, Nadab and Abihu interrupted the sacrifice and further giving of the law. As a result, the regulations for the WORLDY SANCTUARY added the SCAPEGOAT ceremony which has a connection to the pagan goat gods. In addition, the day of Atonement was added so that people, buildings and grounds must also be atoned for.
Jesus Christ was sacrificed just once. The result was the total replacement of the worldly sanctuary. The Holy Place was typical of the church or Body of Christ. He stands at the incense altar and all can come freely but with reverence and fear before Him. As Son He intercedes with the Father Who sits in the Most Holy Place or Throne Room. Through Jesus we can come boldly before the throne. Jesus said in John 4 that God only seeks and accepts those who have A holy spirit and can worship Him in our own Spirit. This is the PLACE which replaces the temples.
Him that speaks from heaven:
REFUSING CHRIST WHO HAS SPOKEN FROM HEAVEN and REFUSING to worship Him with fear and reverence will make you the MOTHS who "COME TO THE LIGHT" and get zapped. Why? How is treating a Holy God as someone to be entertained or seduced so much more WICKED and deserving a worse punishment than a naked, perverted song and dance drama? Why is coming before God's throne even in the church so much more damning that FILLING IN GOD'S SILENCE?
They DELIBERATELY "block the gate" to those seeking the Kingdom of God within and the only thing worse than PHYSICAL BURNING is SPIRITUAL AND ETERNAL BURNING. Why has grace and liberty and freedom not removed the terminal sin of approaching God in a noisy or "playing" way like those at Mount Sinai and Nadab and Abihu?
For our God is a CONSUMING fire. Heb.12:29
REVERENCE is:
Aidos (g127) ahee-doce'; perh. from 1 (as a neg. particle) and 1492 (through the idea of downcast eyes); bashfulness, i.e. (towards men), modesty or (towards God) awe: - reverence, shamefacedness.
When the feminine or effeminate swing and sway and clap and sing silly, erotic praise songs, they CANNOT be reverent and they MANUFACTURE irreverence. There is no such thing as reverent DRAMA or HAND CLAPPING or oohing and aahing. People want you to COME TO THE LIGHT to feed the beast. If they can ONCE make you connect spiritual worship to sexuality by musical stroking it is harder to kick than Crack.
GOODLY FEAR is:

"And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding." Job 28:28, KJV
GOD defined how Egypt, Assyria, Jerusalem and all other "Sodom-like" systems would be burned up in the same system they used to burn their own children to Satan:

and the third part of the sun was smitten,
and the third part of the moon,
and the third part of the stars;
so as the third part of them was darkened,
and the day shone not for a third part of it, and the night likewise.
Rev. 8:13 And I beheld, and heard an angel flying through the midst of heaven, saying with a loud voice, Woe, woe, woe, to the inhabiters of the earth by reason of the other voices of the trumpet of the three angels, which are yet to sound!

And his breath, as rushing water in a valley, reach as far as the neck, and be divided, to confound the nations for their vain error; error also shall pursue them and overtake them. Isaiah 30:28 LXX

The king/queen as a type of Lucifer who came equipped with string, wind and percussion instruments to be used to seduce people away from the Word of God. She was called the "harp-playing prostitute." Zechariah sums up the lack of reverence and fear when worshiping a Holy Spirit God:
And Tyrus did build herself a strong hold, and heaped up silver as the dust, and fine gold as the mire of the streets. Zechariah 9:3
Behold, the Lord will cast her out, and he will smite her power in the sea; and she shall be devoured (burned up) with fire. Zechariah 9:4
Let's recycle that:
See that ye refuse not him that speaketh. For if they escaped not who refused him that spake on earth, much more shall not we escape, if we turn away from him that speaketh from heaven: Heb. 12:25
- "Him that spake on earth: Moses, who spoke on the part of God to the Hebrews, every transgression of whose word received a just recompense of reward, none being permitted to escape punishment; consequently, if ye turn away from Christ, who speaks to you from heaven, you may expect a much sorer punishment, the offense against God being so much the more heinous, as the privileges slighted are more important and glorious. Henry
- Refused Moses on Earth: And there went out fire from the Lord, and devoured them, and they died before the Lord. Lev 10:2
Refuse Christ Who HAS SPOKE FROM HEAVEN and DO NOT serve Him with the fear and reverence, THEN you will find out:
For our God is a consuming fire. Heb.12:29
Even under a system of Grace which gives POWER and not LIBERTY, Paul confirms that the same rules of burning apply. Those who attempt to approach a Holy Spirit God by improvising or innovating show a total lack of comprehension of the Majesty and Glory of God and therefore treat Him as "daddyo." Without reverence and godly fear you should be warned that "Our God is a consuming fire."Be not rash with thy mouth, and let not thine heart be hasty to utter any thing before God: for God is in heaven, and thou upon earth: therefore let thy words be few. Eccl 5:2
