Strength for the Journey #2 (Hebrews 1:5-2:18)

Sorry, folks, my heart isn't into try to analyze this one bit by bit to grasp the underlying message. It is terminal sadness that teachers required to "teach that which has been taught" and evangelists like Timothy to "give attention to the public reading of the Word, to exhortation (of that read word) and to doctrine," simply cannot bring themselves to condescend to the words of inspiration. You can read the sermon here if you can click and copy it fast enough.

I am going to add bits and pieces which I feel have been ignored but which are crucial to understanding Hebrews.

For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son? Hebrews 1:5

The Law of Moses was "added because of transgression" but could not remit sins which gives humanity the gift of A holy spirit (Acts 2:38) or the gift of "a clear consciencience" which gives the saved a co-perception. Therefore, because only God can forgive sins and only God can mediate between man and God, Jehovah-Saves lived as Spirit in the body of humanity:

Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me: Heb.10:5

Therefore, to be both God and Son, the Invisible Deity became both human and Divine. That is the Godhead fulfilled the roles of both Father and Son.

There is no familial relationship between the ONE GOD as Father and Son, and the Holy Spirit as a "person". Look again at Hebrews 1:

Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they. Heb 1:4

For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again,

I will be to him a Father,

and

he shall be to me a Son? Heb 1:5

If God is the Father and Jesus is the Son then Jesus was not remotely related to Deity because He would have to be younger and less powerful. Therefore, the term Father and Son are "accomodative" as proven by revelation which says:

You will notice that in the "family" relationship, the "Spirit" is not a member. The Spirit is the Spirit of God and of Christ but He is never honored nor loved by the others.

But to us there is but one God,

> the Father,

of whom are all things, and we in him;

> and one Lord Jesus Christ,

by whom are all things, and we by him. 1 Cor 8:6

 

In a sense, my spirit or inner man is the "father." Science knows that the "mind" is not the brain and faith says that the spirit is that "person" God put into the purely-beast nature to give us rational control.

THAT which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life; 1 Jn 1:1

For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;) 1 Jn 1:2

That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ. 1 Jn.1:3

It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life. John 6:63

The Godhead is almost always presented in the form of:

The GOSPEL is that which was taught or revealed by Jesus Christ and by inspired Apostles.

THEREFORE we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip. Hebrews 2:1

Peter will especially make it clear that the elders as the local pastor-teacher must "teach that which has been taught" for many reasons:

First, Christ as the WORD or speaker has revealed all required for life and godliness.

Second, Jesus has taught and given supernatural power to the apostles and ordained them as the further revealers of His Words.

Third, Jesus and the apostles validated His right to speak by miracles.

Fourth, if you open the process to let preachers "preach about" the Word you invite false prophets to pervert the Word.

Fifth, Peter says that what Christ he Spirit has revealed is not subject to private interpretation. That means that Scripture is not subject to "further expounding."

Therefore--Because Christ the Mediator of the new covenant is so far (Heb 1:5-14) above all angels, the mediators of the old covenant.

GOD, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets Hebrews 1:1

Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; Heb 1:2

The first fatal result of not listening to those whom God had selected to speak for him resulted in the MUSICAL IDOLATRY was the giving of the Law of Moses. The Israelites were turned over to worship the starry hosts including S.U.N. worship, and the blinding of their eyes and plugging of their ears meant that they COULD NOT hear the Word of God.

The SPIRIT OF CHRIST has always been the MOVER of anyone who spoke for God in any generation.

> But their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth the same vail untaken away in the reading of the old testament; which vail is done away in Christ. 2 Cor 3:14

But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the vail is upon their heart. 2 Cor 3:15

Nevertheless, when it shall turn to the Lord, the vail shall be taken away. 2 Cor 3:16

Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. 2 Cor 3:17

> Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow. 1 Peter 1:11

> And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy. Rev 19:10

When Moses wrote:

AND God spake all these words, saying, Exod 20:1

The angels were his MOUTHPIECES because an angel or messenger CANNOT add to or subtract from the message sent by a king.

Who have received the law by the disposition (arrangements) of angels, and have not kept it. Acts 7:53

The Spirit which indwelled Jesus the man was the Spirit of Christ. He was WITH God because He WAS God. However, when any contact is made by God to humans it is through the LORD or ruler. That might be angels, Water, Word, Manna, Rock or Firey Pillar.

For if the word spoken by angels was stedfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompence of reward; Heb 2:2

As a result of repudiating God by repudiating His law in favor of musical Idolatry, the Law was to regulate idolaters and not save sinners.

Rubel Shelly of angels: Typically, however, we understand the word to refer to an order of heavenly beings who are superior to humans in power and intelligence. It seems clear that they are not glorified human beings; later the Hebrews preacher will speak of two separate groups who inhabit the heavenly Jerusalem -- "thousands upon thousands of angels in joyful assembly" and "spirits of righteous men made perfect" (12:22-24).

Before we get to verse 22 we note that the Spirit added a few more verses.

God offered Israel a covenant of grace but they repudiated it and demanded a VISIBLE agent and external rituals with music. On the other hand, Jesus insists that God only seeks those who worship in the NEW PLACE of the human spirit as it gives heed to HIS Words. For that terminal musical idolatry God answered their prayer to worship the STARRY HOST (See Stephen Acts 7).

For ye are not come unto the mount that might be touched, and that burned with fire, nor unto blackness, and darkness, and tempest, Heb 12:18

And the sound of a trumpet, and the voice of words; which voice they that heard intreated that the word should not be spoken to them any more: Heb 12:19

(For they could not endure that which was commanded, And if so much as a beast touch the mountain, it shall be stoned, or thrust through with a dart: Heb 12:20

And so terrible was the sight, that Moses said, I exceedingly fear and quake:) Heb 12:21

The physical Jerusalem as one PLACE for civil or national "worship" is identified as Hagar, the Law of Moses, Egypt and SODOM.

But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels, Heb 12:22

To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, [church of Christ, if you will] which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect, Heb 12:23

Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: Col.1:13

And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel. Heb 12:24

Jesus said that we MUST worship in the NEW PLACE of the human spirit because you CANNOT worship a Spirit God in HOUSES made by human hands or by the WORKS of human hands.

While minimizing baptism one repudiates the sprinkling of the blood which is a baptism of the spirit so that we have A holy spirit in which God will meet us in a Holy Place alone, in quietness and darkness.

Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water. Heb.10:22

Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied. 1Pe.1:2

Baptism, which corresponds to this, now saves you, not as a removal of dirt from the body but as an appeal to God for a clear conscience, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, 1 Pet 3:21

Rubel Shelly says that MUSIC can help "lead you into the presence of God." Now, that replaces Jesus Christ Who died for the sins of the world to get that RIGHT. Therefore,

See that ye refuse not him that speaketh. For if they escaped not who refused him that spake on earth, much more shall not we escape, if we turn away from him that speaketh from heaven: Heb 12:25

Whose voice then shook the earth: but now he hath promised, saying, Yet once more I shake not the earth only, but also heaven. Heb 12:26

And this word, Yet once more, signifieth the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that are made, that those things which cannot be shaken may remain. Heb 12:27

Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear: Heb 12:28

For our God is a consuming fire Heb 12:29.

The Book of Enoch speaks of God coming with ten thousand of His saints to execute judgement upon sinners. The sin in Enoch and similar writings is that Satan used Jubal or Genun to seduce people away from the LIVING WORD by the use of wine, mixed-sex choirs, instrumental music and sexual perversion.

Rubel Shelly of angels: At a time before the world was created, angels appear to have had a period of testing during which they had to make the choice between faith and unbelief -- the same choice we are having to make now. Those who chose not to live under God's authority -- following the lead of one of their own named Satan -- were cast down to hell and are more commonly known as "demons" from that point on in Scripture (Matt. 25:41; cf. 2 Pet. 2:4; Jude 6).

Rubel Shelly holds that there are only seven facts ABOUT Jesus which can be used as authority. He claims that in the first century the people WORKED OUT THEIR OWN SALVATION which, to him means, that they created the Bible IN COMMUNITY based on THAT culture. Since culture has changed (I always want to shout in joy at that discovery) WE must work out OUR version. No individual can read, interpret or speak the new truth OUTSIDE of the community which means COMMUNE.

Those Jude speaks about had the same view about God and His Word.

Jesus defines them as the sons of the Devil because THEY SPEAK ON THEIR OWN:

Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me. John 8:42

Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word. John 8:43

Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. Jn.8:44

And because I tell you the truth, ye believe me not. John 8:45

Which of you convinceth me of sin? And if I say the truth, why do ye not believe me? John 8:46

He that is of God heareth Gods words: ye therefore hear them not, because ye are not of God. John 8:47

For that sin, God who came at Mount Sinai will come again:

The chariots of God are twenty thousand, even thousands of angels: the Lord is among them, as in Sinai, in the holy place. Psalm 68:17

And he said, The Lord came from Sinai, and rose up from Seir unto them; he shined forth from mount Paran, and he came with ten thousands of saints: from his right hand went a fiery law for them. Deuteronomy 33:2

Yea, he loved the people; all his saints are in thy hand: and they sat down at thy feet; every one shall receive of thy words. Deuteronomy 33:3

We noted in chapter one that God is pure or Holy Spirit and is not made of "body parts" like humans. When He intercedes it is through His "arm" and when He "breathes" it is His Spirit and the result is the Words of Christ. When the promises were ordained they were spoken by some human or human-like being speaking to mankind:

How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation;

which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord,

and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him; Hebrews 2:3

let them slip--literally "flow past them"

LET us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it. Hebrews 4:1

Probably the word "angels" is poetic. It speaks of God's infinite power to win in battle or to speak from the invisible, Spirit world in our language. That is, God is not an unknowable God because He is there and He is not silent.

The Israelites rose up to PLAY which was musical idolatry. For that mortal offense God gave them the LAW OF MOSES:

Wherefore then serveth the law? It was added because of transgressions, till the seed should come to whom the promise was made; and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator. Galatians 3:19

The RECOMPENCE is discussed further. God conditionally sentenced Israel to captivity and death. However, the sentence was delayed until their terminal sin of demanding a human king so that they could worship LIKE THE NATIONS. They truly had a WINESKIN religion:

For their vine is of the vine of Sodom, and of the fields of Gomorrah: their grapes are grapes of gall, their clusters are bitter: Deut 32:32

Their wine is the poison of dragons, and the cruel venom of asps. Deut 32:33

Is not this laid up in store with me, and sealed up among my treasures? Deut 32:34

To me belongeth vengeance and recompence; their foot shall slide in due time: for the day of their calamity is at hand, and the things that shall come upon them make haste. Deut 32:35

For the Lord shall judge his people, and repent himself for his servants, when he seeth that their power is gone, and there is none shut up, or left. Deut 32:36

And he shall say, Where are their gods, their rock in whom they trusted, Deut 32:37

JFB: "we--who have received the message of salvation so clearly delivered to us. While the Old Testament which was a Law which judged and made people guilty was ordained it was put into the hands of Moses as a direct result of the sin of bull worship at Mount Sinai.

However, the New Covenant is a restatement of the covenant made with Abraham and it is promise and not punishment. Therefore, God Himself became His own Intercessor, Mediator or "arm" bringing salvation:

And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel. Hebrews 12:24

See that ye refuse not him that speaketh. For if they escaped not who refused him that spake on earth, much more shall not we escape, if we turn away from him that speaketh from heaven: Hebrews 12:25

Therefore, the Jews should understand that the New Covenant is superior and they should not lament the old Angel-delivered Law of Moses.

Christ SINGS to the GENTILES when believers SPEAK His Words (not ours) as a way to preach or teach. If we sing or speak our words then we repudiate Christ by repudiating HIS REVEALED WORDS:

Saying, I will declare thy name unto my brethren, in the midst of the church will I sing praise unto thee. Hebrews 2:12

This is not authority for singing praise in the modern church assembly in the modern way. Rather, throughout the Old and New Testaments the idea of singing carries with it teaching.

I will declare thy name unto my brethren: in the midst of the congregation will I praise thee. Psalm 22:22

We know for certain that the hymns sung at Passover would be from the Great Hallel or Psalms 111-118. When the "fifth cup" was sung, Psalm 137 was sung.

The Septuagint includes the three Greek expressions Paul, "psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs".

All three classes are included under the Greek word "Psalms." Psalms, hymns and spiritual songs are defined by Paul as "the Word of Christ" or "Spirit." Each is a type of the inspired Word of God.

Saying, I will declare thy name unto my brethren, in the midst of the church will I sing praise (hymns) unto thee. Hebrews 2:12

Declare is:

Apagello (g518) ap-ang-el'-lo; from 575 and the base of 32; to announce: - bring word (again), declare, report, shew (again), tell.

Aggelos (g32) ang'-el-os; from aggello, [prob. der. from 71; comp. 34] (to bring tidings); a messenger; esp. an "angel"; by impl. a pastor: - angel, messenger

This does not mean to entertain but to do the work of an evangelist

Euaggelizo (g2097) yoo-ang-ghel-id'-zo; from 2095 and 32; to announce good news ("evangelize") espec. the gospel: - declare, bring (declare, show) glad (good) tidings, preach (the gospel).

Sing is:

Apalgeo (g524) ap-alg-eh'-o; from 575 (to smart); to grieve out, i.e. become apathetic: - be past feeling

Anah (g578) aw-naw'; a prim. root; to groan: - lament, mourn.

The word melody or Greek PSALLO derives from the TWANGING bowstring sending the SINGING arrow into your heart to kill you. Its base meaning, like the SOP Jesus fed Judas, is to GRIND INTO A FINE POWDER. Therefore, the EXTERNAL direct command it to TEACH OR PREACH with the inspired test. The singing AND melody or grieving out is IN THE HEART and is directed toward God and NOT to an audience.

Therefore, singing to the Gentiles by David meant that he praised God because he had shed the blood OF the Gentiles.

On the other hand, Jesus shed HIS OWN BLOOD FOR the Gentiles.

Jesus Christ personally went out to EVANGELIZE and sent other evangelists to GRIEVE OUT the message of God to a dying world.

When you stick the needle into a dying person to save them you do not do a song and dance routine: you grieve out the only cure.

The Hebrew word "praise" means to "make self vile" through self abasement. While it could mean to profane self, true praise is a prayer to God which does not LIFT UP but which humbles self as the meaning of "worship."

"Worship" in a physical sense means to cower on the floor at the master's feet like a dog."

Worship in a physical sense throws itself at the feet of an AWEFUL God grasping the meaning of SPIRIT or GOD.

Therefore, SINGING is the MANNER in which the SPEAKING takes place.

Paul said:

"Speak to one another with Biblical material."

"Singing and making melody IN THE HEART."

This excludes performance modern singing.

In Romans, Jesus sang to the Gentiles as Paul preached the gospel to them. As in Ephesians 5:19 and Colossians 3:16, the speaking of the words of Christ is to one another while the singing is "in the heart" and directed toward God.

Now I say that Jesus Christ was a minister of the circumcision for the truth of God, to confirm the promises made unto the fathers: Romans 15:8

And that the Gentiles might glorify God for his mercy; as it is written, For this cause I will confess to thee among the Gentiles, and sing unto thy name. Romans 15:9

The MUSIC word is never used of spiritual worship in the entire Bible. Therefore, because of the conflict between MUSICAL STYLES in Rome, Paul defined a method of glorifying God by teaching THAT WHICH IS WRITTEN, THE SPIRIT OR THE WORD OF CHRIST:

WE then that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves. Romans 15: 1

Let every one of us please his neighbour for his good to edification. Romans 15: 2

For even Christ pleased not himself; but, as it is written, The reproaches of them that reproached thee fell on me. Romans 15: 3

For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning (DOCTRINE), that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope. Romans 15: 4

Now the God of patience and consolation grant you to be likeminded one toward another according to Christ Jesus: Romans 15: 5

That ye may with one mind and one mouth glorify God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Romans 15: 6

Wherefore receive ye one another, as Christ also received us, to the glory of God. Romans 15: 7

Father and Son are ways the ONE GOD is manifest to the world. Therefore, the GODHEAD is not a FAMILY OF GODS.

And again, I will put my trust in him. And again, Behold I and the children which God hath given me. Hebrews 2:13

JFB: I will put my trust in him--from the Septuagint, Isa 8:17, which immediately precedes the next quotation, "Behold, I and the children," The only objection is the following words, "and again," usually introduce a new quotation, whereas these two are parts of one and the same passage. However, this objection is not valid, as the two clauses express distinct ideas; "I will put my trust in Him" expresses His filial confidence in God as His Father, to whom He flees from His sufferings, and is not disappointed; which His believing brethren imitate, trusting solely in the Father through Christ, and not in their own merits.

"Christ exhibited this "trust," not for Himself, for He and the Father are one,

but for His own people" (Heb 2:16). Each fresh aid given Him assured Him, as it does them, of aid for the future, until the complete victory was obtained over death and hell Php 1:16 [BENGEL].

Behold I and the children, (Isa 8:18). "Sons" (Heb 2:10), "brethren" (Heb 2:12), and "children," imply His right and property in them from everlasting. He speaks of them as "children" of God, though not yet in being, yet considered as such in His purpose, and presents them before God the Father, who has given Him them, to be glorified with Himself.

Zechariah shows that the BRANCH will be both KING and PRIEST who both rules and mediates upon ONE throne and the will be the same DIVINE BEING:

AND he shewed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the Lord, and Satan standing at his right hand to resist him. Zec.3:1

Yehowshuwa (h3091) yeh-ho-shoo'-ah; or y˙howsua yeh-ho-shoo'-ah; from 3068 and 3467; Jehovah-saved; Jehoshua (i. e. Joshua), the Jewish leader: - Jehoshua, Jehoshuah, Joshua. Comp. 1954, 3442

And speak unto him, saying, Thus speaketh the Lord of hosts, saying, Behold the man whose name is The BRANCH; and he shall grow up out of his place, and he shall build the temple of the Lord: Zech 6:12

Even he shall build the temple of the Lord; and he shall bear the glory,

and (he) shall sit and rule upon his throne;
and he shall be a priest upon his throne:

and the counsel of peace shall be between them both. Zech 6:13

Isaiah represents Messiah "who is at once Father and Son, Isaiah and Immanuel."

Yeshayah (h3470) yesh-ah-yaw'; or y˙shayahuw yesh-ah-yaw'-hoo; from 3467 and 3050; Jah has saved; Jeshajah, the name of seven Isr.: - Isaiah, Jesaiah, Jeshaia

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6

Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this. Isaiah 9:7

Because THE SON was bot KING AND PRIEST on one throne does not mean that GOD AND FATHER are two on the throne. There are many offices or names fulfilled by the SON as GOD INCARNATE but the godhead is not a TRIBE of "persons."

And they stoned Stephen,

calling upon God,
and saying, Lord Jesus, receive my spirit. Ac.7:59

	King	Thus saith the Lord the King of Israel, and his redeemer the Lord of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God. Isaiah 44:6
	Wonderful Counselor	Who hath directed the Spirit of the Lord, or being his counsellor hath taught him? Isaiah 40:13 ---For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; 1 Timothy 2:5
The Son is	Mighty God	I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty. Revelation 1:8
	Ever- lasting Father	Doubtless thou art our father, though Abraham be ignorant of us, and Israel acknowledge us not: thou, O Lord, art our father, our redeemer; thy name is from everlasting. Isaiah 63:16 ---Art thou not from everlasting, O Lord my God, mine Holy One? we shall not die. O Lord, thou hast ordained them for judgment; and, O mighty God, thou hast established them for correction. Revelation 1:12
	Prince of Peace	Him hath God exalted with his right hand to be a Prince and a Saviour, for to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins. Acts 5:31

JFB: He expresses his resolve to rely, he and his children, not like Ahaz and the Jews on the Assyrian king, against the confederacy of Pekah of Israel, and Rezin of Syria, but on Jehovah; and then foretells the deliverance of Judah by God, in language which finds its antitypical full realization only in the far greater deliverance wrought by Messiah.

Christ, the antitypical Prophet, similarly, instead of the human confidences of His age, Himself, and with Him GOD THE FATHER'S children (who are therefore His children, and so antitypical to Isaiah's children, though here regarded as His "brethren," compare Isa 9:6; "Father" and "His seed," Isa 53:10) led by Him, trust wholly in God for salvation.

The official words and acts of all the prophets find their antitype in the Great Prophet (Re 19:10),

just as His kingly office is antitypical to that of the theocratic kings;
and His priestly office to the types and rites of the Aaronic priesthood.

And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus:

Music as SIGN of HARD BONDAGE and of the END-TIME effort to restore the BABYLON WHORE religion:

And deliver them, who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage. Hebrews 2:15

JFB: subject to bondage--literally, "subjects of bondage"; not merely liable to it, but enthralled in it (compare Ro 8:15 Ga 5:1). Contrast with this bondage, the glory of the "sons" (Heb 2:10). "Bondage" is defined by Aristotle, "The living not as one chooses"; "liberty," "the living as one chooses." Christ by delivering us from the curse of God against our sin, has taken from death all that made it formidable. Death, viewed apart from Christ, can only fill with horror, if the sinner dares to think.

The spirit of bondage is not a little being named BONDAGE. Rather, except when speaking of GOD who is holy or pure Spirit (wholly Spirit), spirit speaks in both Hebrew and Greek of the MENTAL DISPOSITION:

For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. Rom 8:15

Douleia (g1397) doo-li'-ah; from 1398; slavery (cer. or fig): - bondage.

Which things are an allegory: for these are the two covenants; the one from the mount Sinai, which gendereth to bondage, which is Agar. Ga.4:24

STAND fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage. Ga.5:1

Rather than CAPTAINS OF PANIC AND DEATH, Messiah came to be The Captain of salvation who needs not musical praise leaders to make Himself look important:

For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings. Hebrews 2:10

Israel was given the BOOK OF THE COVENANT at Mount Sinai. As a result of their MUSICAL IDOLATRY, God turned them over to worship the starry host including worshiping the S.U.N. god. The BOOK OF THE LAW was to regulate a lawless, idolatrous people. Later, when Israel "fired" God and demanded a king LIKE THE NATIONS it was so that they could worship LIKE THE NATIONS. God gave them kings in His anger and took them away in His anger according to Hosea.

As a MAKE WORK PROJECT for the surplus military, panic musicians, the KING and COMMANDERS OF THE ARMY set the Levites to giving glory to the TEMPLE STATE at an old Jebusite High place called Jerusalem:

David, together with the commanders (CAPTAINS) of the army, set apart some of the sons of Asaph, Heman and Jeduthun for the ministry of prophesying, accompanied by harps, lyres and cymbals. Here is the list of the men who performed this service: 1 Chron 25:1NIV

This was NOT spiritual worship but hard bondage:

Abodah (h5656) ab-o-daw'; or abowdah ab-o-daw'; from 5647; work of any kind: - act, bondage, / bondservant, effect, labour, ministering (-try), office, service (-ile, -itude), tillage, use, work, * wrought

Abad (h5647) aw-bad'; a prim. root; to work (in any sense); by impl. to serve, till, (caus.) enslave, etc.: - * be, keep in bondage, be bondmen, bond-service, compel, do, dress, ear, execute, / husbandman, keep, labour (-ing man), bring to pass, (cause to, make to) serve (-ing, self), (be, become) servant (-s), do (use) service, till (-er), transgress [from margin], (set a) work, be wrought, worshipper.

The SOUNDERS made NOISE and not MUSIC. It was made during animal burning in the court and the musicians NEVER went into the Holy Place representing the church. The MAKE WORK jobs are totally eleminated--especially doctors of the Law--because they LADE you down like pack animals with "spiritual anxiety created by religious ritual." Jesus came to give us REST which eleminates all elements of legalism such as MUSICAL PRAISE to ward off evil spirits and to keep the people OUT of the holy place during the musical mocking of the type of Jesus Christ.

Rather than CAPTAINS OF PANIC AND DEATH, Messiah came to be The Captain of salvation who needs not musical praise leaders to make Himself look important:

Conclusion: don't let anyone put you back under the KING and the Sounding Levites under the Commanders of the ARMY.

Don't let any one destroy you by claiming that the GODHEAD is a family or tribe of three separated persons. They simply have no Bible and no history (even among trinitarians) for teaching polytheism.
