Genesis 1 - Holy Spirit - Person or Parable For those who claim that The Holy Spirit Guides them to do church any way they wish, Jesus said;
John 16:7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is EXPEDIENT for you that I go away:
for if I go not away, the Comforter [Paraclete] will not come unto you;
but if I depart, I will send him unto you.
John 16:8 And when he is come,
he will REPROVE the WORLD OF SIN,
and of RIGHTEOUSNESS, and of JUDGMENT:
John 16:9 Of sin, because they believe NOT IN ME
John 16:10 Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more;
THE WORLD OR KOSMOS IS THE ECUMENICAL KINGDOM OF SATAN MAKING WAR AGAINST THE KINGDOM OF CHRIST IN A CHRCY WHICH IS MORE THAN A SCHOOL OF CHRIST'S WORD. JESUS SAID THAT GOD HIDES FROM THE WISE OR SOPHOS; RHETORIC, MUSIC OR SCENIC PERFORMANCES INTENDED TO SILENCE THE VOICE OF JESUS.
John 16:11 Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.
Is. 11:4 BUT with righteousness shall he judge the poor,
and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth:
and he shall smite the earth with the ROD OF HIS MOUTH
and with the BREATH [SPIRIT] of His LIPS of his shall he slay the wicked.
ON THE OTHER HAND--YOU NEVER READ IT?
THE SPIRIT OF TRUTH COMFORTER Speaks only to the God Sent Apostles and secondarily through prophets and SCRIBES to record the Last Will and Testament of Jesus Christ. No preacher can ethically speak anything not in the NOTARIZED WILL.
John 14:10 Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me?
the WORDS that I speak unto you I speak not of myself:
but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.
John 14:11 Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: t
or else believe me for the very works’ sake.
John 14:15 IF ye love me, keep my commandments.
John 14:16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you ANOTHER COMFORTER
that he may abide with you for ever;
John 14:17 EVEN THE SPIRIT OF TRUTH;
whom the WORLD CANNOT receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him:
but ye KNOW HIM; for he dwelleth with you, AND SHALL BE IN YOU
John 14:18 will not leave you comfortless: I will come to YOU.
John 14:19 Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more;
but YE SEE me: because I live, ye shall live also.
John 14:20 At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, AND I IN YOU
John 15:26 But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father,
EVEN THE SPIRIT OF TRUTH; , which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:
John 15:27 And YE also shall bear witness, BECAUSE ye have been with me from the beginning.

Peter said this eye-- and ear-- witnessed record is NOT subject to private interpretation or further expounding.
Peter said that the MARK of a false teacher is one who does not speak that which is written for our LEARNING.
Science can accept that everything including time, space, laws and matter evolved out of nothing. However, most of us believe that anything truly created out of nothing was created by God Who is pure or Holy Spirit or Mind. We can look at the simpliest parts of the human body and know that these thingd do not happen by chance. However, a wrong understanding of parabolic language cheats us of the Majesty of God's creative power and creates a God diluted into three, human-like persons or people who is enslaved to work the way we want things to work out.
Genesis 1:2 is interpreted to mean that the Father and Son created an unholy mess. The Holy Spirit as a third member of the God family took over the "totally worthless thing" and made it operate according to laws:
Boles: Christ, the Word, is the agent (deputy, broker) through whom God created all things; the Holy Spirit gives life, enacts laws, and organizes (establish, institute, construct) the material universe. Creation was not finished (full-fledged, done) until the third member of the Godhead functioned. (Boles, H. Leo, The Holy Spirit, p. 37, Gospel Advocate)
In another fragment we will see that the spirit in this passage is not a person but the wind which God used along with water as Divine agents of creating the earth or dry place for mankind to live. This is supported by parallel accounts of the wind fluttering in great acts of God's miraculous power. When the wind blows to prepare a "path through the sea" an observer would see a wind storm. However, when the wind moves at God's direction it is a miracle. That is, the wind is the visible "arm" or instrument of the invisible God.
The Holy Spirit or Divine Wind fluttered after the flood:
The creation story carries the divine message of God's power to create, recreate and save through the means of water as a boundary between the chaos of the real dark underworld--or the underworld of our own spiritual lostness. His Spirit (Himself) "blows" to drive the waters off the face of the land to create earth or dry land. The wind is not another or different person but the wind is a symbol and actual means of God's solitary, holy power working in our dimension.
And the waters prevailed upon the earth an hundred and fifty days. Genesis 7:24
AND God remembered Noah, and every living thing, and all the cattle that was with him in the ark: and God made a wind (same spirit) to pass over (similar to hover) the earth, and the waters asswaged; Genesis 8:1 (God hadn't forgotten)
The fountains also of the deep and the windows of heaven were stopped, and the rain from heaven was restrained; Genesis 8:2
And the waters returned (ran) from off the earth continually: and after the end of the hundred and fifty days the waters were abated (bereaved) . Genesis 8:3
Does the Holy Spirit have Wings and Feathers
This is similar symbolic language where God walks upon the wings of the wind or spirit. Pagan Babel-speak claimed that this meant that the "god" clipped the wings of the east wind. The Psalmist speaks in very catastrophic terms showing that the creative process can also be a recreative process. In the following passage, the message is clearly parabolic in order to convey more than normal events:
Who layeth the beams of his chambers in the waters: who maketh the clouds his chariot: who walketh upon the wings of the wind (spirit) Psalm 104:3
Who maketh his angels spirits; his ministers a flaming fire: Psalm 104:4
Who laid the foundations of the earth, that it should not be removed for ever. Psalm 104:5
Thou coveredst it with the deep as with a garment: the waters stood above the mountains. Psalm 104:6
In another Psalm, God explains Himself as a great bird who has the power to escape from the "bird shooter." Therefore, if we are covered with His feathers, like a mother hen would protect her brood, no enemy can get to us. His Word will be our shield and buckler as it is a double-edged sword:
HE that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. Psalm 91:1
I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. Psalm 91:2
Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence. Psalm 91:3
He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler. Psalm 91:4
We don't have to believe that God has wings and feathers but the symbolic language speaks to us as His technical language of how Spirit creates matter out of nothing would soar or fly over our heads. By putting the message in "word pictures" it can be translated into any language.
When God prepared the earth or fruitful places, the Word went forth from His mouth (double-edged sword) and the wind (spirit) violently reordered the chaotic earth so that the waters even went up the mountains. Notice that the true God is always a thy:
At thy rebuke they fled; at the voice of thy thunder they hasted (trembled or fluttered) away. Psalm 104:7
They go up by the mountains; they go down by the valleys unto the place which thou hast founded for them. Psalm 104:8
Thou hast set a bound that they may not pass over (hover or cover in copulation); that they turn not again to cover the earth. Psalm 104:9
This Holy Spirit or Wind fluttered at the Red Sea:
The wind is a natural element. The Red Sea (Reed Sea) is made up of natural elements. Therefore, it can be dried by the natural wind. However, when the wind blows at God's direction it is a miracle. That is, the wind is God's Spirit power at work. Again, the spirit or wind is not a person puffing away:
And the Lord turned a mighty strong west wind (same spirit), which took away the locusts, and cast them into the Red sea; there remained not one locust in all the coasts of Egypt. Exodus 10:19
And in the greatness of thine excellency thou hast overthrown them that rose up against thee: thou sentest forth thy wrath (burning blaze), which consumed them as stubble. Exodus 15:7
And with the blast (ruwach or same spirit) of thy nostrils the waters were gathered together, the floods stood upright as an heap, and the depths were congealed in the heart of the sea (The same Yam as Genesis). Exodus 15:8
We know that this is figurative language because God walks upon the wings of the wind or spirit. He blows wind or spirit from His mouth and he even "snorts" spirit from His nostrils. The creative processes were not natural. The work was done supernaturally but we make God into the image of the Babylonian gods when we not only personify His breath but literalize it by making it into another god like Enlil, the Babylonian god of the wind, the flutterer.
The Jews and perhaps those in Corinth continued to worship the elements such as the wind (speaking into the air) rather than the Creator Spirit. They, according to Jesus, were deaf and blind from the foundation of the world because they didn't care enough to read God's symbolic, and therefore more powerful, language.
The Figurative Holy Spirit Howls in the Wilderness:
As God "rides upon" the wings of the wind or spirit, Moses used the word "as" to show that God does not have literal feathers as He hovers or carries His people:
He found him in a desert land, and in the waste (tohuw) howling wilderness; he led him about, he instructed him, he kept him as the apple of his eye. Deuteronomy 32:10
As an eagle stirreth up her nest, fluttereth over her young, spreadeth abroad her wings, taketh them, beareth them on her wings: Deuteronomy 32:11
So the Lord alone did lead him, and there was no strange (no other elohim to scrutinize or recognize) god with him. Deuteronomy 32:12
Jeremiah And Holy Spirit of Recreation
At that time this people and Jerusalem will be told, "A scorching wind (spirit) from the barren heights in the desert blows toward my people, but not to winnow or cleanse; Jeremiah 4:11
a wind (spirit) too strong for that comes from me. Now I pronounce my judgments against them." Jeremiah 4:12
God spoke to the music and new wineskin religion by asking:
How long shall I see the standard, and hear the sound (bleating, singing, sound) of the trumpet? Jeremiah 4:21
For my people is foolish, they have not known me; they are sottish children, and they have none understanding: they are wise to do evil, but to do good they have no knowledge. Jeremiah 4:22
I beheld the earth, and, lo, it was without form, and void; and the heavens, and they had no light. Jeremiah 4:23
I beheld the mountains, and, lo, they trembled, and all the hills moved lightly. Jeremiah 4:24
I beheld, and, lo, there was no man, and all the birds of the heavens were fled. Jeremiah 4:25
But the Lord (Jehovah) is the true God (Elohim), he is the living God, and an everlasting king: at his wrath the earth shall tremble, and the nations shall not be able to abide his indignation. Jeremiah 10:10
Thus shall ye say unto them, The gods (several or elohim) that have not made the heavens and the earth, even they shall perish from the earth, and from under these heavens. Jeremiah 10:11
He hath made the earth by his power, he hath established the world by his wisdom, and hath stretched out the heavens by his discretion. Jeremiah 10:12
When he thunders, the waters in the heavens roar; he makes clouds rise from the ends of the earth. He sends lightning with the rain and brings out the wind (spirit) from his storehouses. Jeremiah 10:13
Every man is brutish in his knowledge: every founder is confounded by the graven image: for his molten image is falsehood, and there is no breath (spirit) in them. Jeremiah 10:14
Natural Elements as Angels of God
God speaks and causes the natural elements to do creative, recreative and judgmental work. The winds are his spirit and the flames his ministers:
Then I said, I will not make mention of him, nor speak any more in his name. But his word was in mine heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I was weary with forbearing, and I could not stay. Jeremiah 20:9
Is not my word like as a fire? saith the Lord; and like a hammer that breaketh the rock in pieces? Jeremiah 23:29 (forked tongues)
How is the hammer of the whole earth cut asunder and broken how is Babylon become a desolation among the nations! Jeremiah 50:23
And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits (same as Holy Spirit), and his ministers a flame of fire. Hebrews.1:7
The Hebrews would have had no bias against seeing God as two persons involved in the creation account. However, it never entered the scholar's mind that Genesis speaks of the Holy Spirit as separated from God Who is pure or holy Spirit. John said that the Word was with God and was God even as our breath and words are us speaking.
The New Testament sometimes sees Father separated from Son. However, Jesus said that the Father was in and with Him. Peter, and John in Revelation, said that the Spirit of Jesus was the One Who inspired the Prophets. Whenever we see one member of the Godhead all three should be seen as One God working in three major ways. This was the general understanding until the liberal takeover in the nineteenth century when God was demoted, and blasphemed, to the status of a person. I am a person, my kittens have personality but they are not persons. God was not made in the image of a man.
Genesis 1 - Holy Spirit - Person or Parable? God made mankind in His own image of body, soul and spirit. While mankind is not God, he possesses the power to manipulate material things, a living sould which give him life, and the mind or mental disposition to think or create. Most creed writers never try to cut God up like a pecan pie.
