You may want to look at these
two articles to see that those who intend to stand between the paying
"audience" and their God can just as easily and consistently
deliberately pervert God's Words and make them into authority to do
what God in His Word is condemning. The shepherd or senior males
who are "already laboring to the point of exhaustion in preaching and
teaching (Lenski)" do not organize and delegate. He does not use a
hireling for his most important job. He cannot delegate this to a
musical worship team. His job is to place the sheep in front of food
and water and allow the lambs to grow up naturally. His job is
defined by a word only applied to senior males: Prostemi (g4291) pro-is'-tay-mee; to stand before in upright
position; i.e. in rank to preside, or (by impl.) to practice: -
maintain, be over, rule. Pro (g4253) pro; a
prim. prep.; "fore", i.e. in front of, prior (fig. superior) to: -
above, ago, before, or ever. In comp. it retains the same
significations. Mutual Ministry:
Wherefore comfort
yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do. 1
Thessalonians 5:11 In the Lord Oversight:
And we beseech you,
brethren, to know them which labour (to feel fatigue or exhaustion)
among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish (caution or
warn) you; 1 Thessalonians 5:12 And to esteem them
very highly in love for their works (expend great energy) sake. And
be at peace among yourselves. 1 Thessalonians 5:13 Now we exhort you,
brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded,
support the weak, be patient toward all men. 1 Thessalonians 5:14
Performing for others is not
defined anywhere as one of the "exhausting labors" or spiritual gifts
which men must endure as they confront primarily other men and keep
them orderly. Women who stand exposed as the
focus of the
"audience" and teach by singing or any other role are taking the
oversight (no elder's approval can change the fact). They are in an
upright position they preside and they rule by teaching and
admonishing or collecting or ushering the flock. Those who stand before the
flock to teach or entertain or just to "get em back Sunday night,
dead or alive," are its true and only shepherds. This is true because
buildings and grounds or administering all of those make-work
programs is not shepherding the flock. There is nothing the
Word-oriented shepherd can do to counteract the token teaching
through song and sermon because they have closed down the rational
gate to the mind which can filter out false garbage or just "praise
the lords." The elders were male and
matured, married, proven were "pointed out" or identified and
followed because they were already doing the job. They were chosen as
"apt to teach." "Apt" means "able and willing." It does not mean: "He
is as apt to chase coons as he is to teach." If shepherds do not teach then
they have abandoned their "walled corral" and the wolves take over
and, almost always, eat the sheep. These elders were not the young
lions or the raging bulls who have no true shepherding skills:
Let the elders
that rule well be counted worthy of double honour, especially they
who labour in the word and doctrine. 1Ti.5:17 True singing is a way for a
"one another" ministry of teaching and counseling. When individual
(solo) "teaching and admonishing" is to be done it is done by the
shepherds or by a one-another teaching of the Words of Christ. Your
words do not count! Noutheteo (g3560) noo-thet-eh'-o; to put in mind, i.e. by
implication: to caution or reprove gently: - admonish, warn.
This is more often a one
another task, in and out of assembly, by those who are filled up with
spirit (the Words of Christ Jn 6:63). Then, they are equipped to
teach and gently reprove one another. There is no reproof with "Lord,
Lord" forms of praising. The senior males are not to be the "praise
the Lord leaders." The way he can "praise the Lord" is to tell
everyone what God has done in God's own adequate words. Paul allows no room for
self-composed songs or sermons in this gathering. Anything said must
be inspired or read. This leaves the well-understood option available
to the none inspired at this time: "give your self to reading and
doctrine." Professional preachers who reject this usurp the authority
of the elders and the whole church and place their body squarely in
the face of Jesus to keep Him from seeing His flock. Since an
overseer is entrusted with God's work, he must be blameless--not
overbearing, not quick-tempered, not given to drunkenness, not
violent, not pursuing dishonest gain. Tit 1:7 Rather
he must be hospitable, one who loves what is good, who is
self-controlled, upright, holy and disciplined. Tit 1:8 He must hold
firmly to the trustworthy message as it has been
taught, so
that he can encourage others by sound doctrine and refute those who
oppose it. Tit 1:9 For there are
many rebellious people, mere talkers and deceivers,
especially those of the circumcision group. Ti 1:10 They
must be silenced, because they are ruining whole households by
teaching things they ought not to teach--and that for the sake of
dishonest gain. Tit 1:11 The professional, dominant
"pastors" should be careful as they permit and enlist women to
Co-minister with them in a public, paid way while publically trying
to silence "them what pays them." The church may catch on to the fact
that the dominant males do not have a legitimate "berth as Captain on
the Good Ship Lollipop" except "by your leave" of the congregation
needing external help which often does more harm than good..
First, it should be noted that Paul
restricts any preside-over, preaching role to those who are
supernaturally inspired by Christ to deliver His Word. If there is no
inspired speaker or prophet then he, along with the women, should
just sit down and shut up. This permits Christ to speak
to the assembly in the already-preached sermons and already-composed
songs of inspiration. There is no doubt that many preachers believe
that they are inspired to usurp authority over the men and women by
cutting-and-pasting Christ's sermons. It is reasonable that
self-promoting women "want some of that." Second, since there were no inspired apostles
selected, taught and Spirit empowered by Jesus who were women, Paul
said the same thing he said to men who are not apostles or prophets
speaking under direct inspiration: Let your women
(wife, mother) keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them
to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith
the law. 1Co 14:34 Larger than this article will
accomodate is the overwhelming evidence that beginning wiht Eve,
women were prominent in leading Israel away from the objective Word
of God. The "law" says by example and it says by defining male
leadership. Paul's silence to the
Corinthians was the verbal form: Sigao
(g4601) see-gah'-o; from 4602; to keep silent (trans. or intrans.): -
keep close (secret, silence), hold peace. Paul's
silence to Timothy and in Peter's prohibition of women
teaching, Esuchia (g2271) hay-soo-khee'-ah; feminine of 2272; (as
noun) stillness, i.e. desistance from bustle or language: -
quietness, silence. Esuchios (g2272) hay-soo'-khee-os; a prol. form of a comp.
prob. of a der. of the base of 1476 and perh. 2192 (to hold); prop.
keeping one's seat
(sedentary), i.e. (by
impl.) still (undisturbed, undisturbing): - peaceable, quiet.

hed-rah'-yos; to sit; sedentary, i.e. (by impl.) immovable: - settled, stedfast
When women pick the "staff"
they usurp the role of the elders and the entire flock. When they
perform any function during the time when "the whole church comes
together" in a stand up role she is not keeping her seat and she is
not sedentary and she is violating the commandment of Paul and she is
violating will of Lord Jesus Christ. God may try the male elders in
juvenile court but you have a responsibility not to disturb the peace
of the assembly by taking a prominant, visible role. Even the presiding elder of
the synagogue (Jesus or an inspired person excepted) was expected to
"take his seat." (James 2:2f and the Talmud). That is, to keep from
lording it over the flock the teacher sat down. He didn't dance,
prance and swing his arms around his head. If presumptious men usurp the
authority of Christ and stand between Him and the "audience" it
should not be surprising that women presumptious enough to see their
"talent" in arranging sounds in a pleasing order -- very
work-intensive -- as a work pleasing to God just try to parrot the
